I think this mod is still very unkown, that's why I'm posting it here. Especially because I consider the Samsung Galaxy Players (4 and 4.2 because of DAC) as a music player with android benefits.
So I tried several mods and players and mods will always effect the sound quality more than the music player.
Yes right, it doesn't matter which music player you use, whether it's PlayerPro or PowerAMP, because you have to disable the built in EQ anyways. I tried AcidAudio with Walkman Player and thought wow. Then I tried Noozxoide with Noozyplayer and thought this was the best.
Today I found out about this mod: [OFFICIAL][MOD] ViPER4Android (V4A) Audio Effects - Android 2.3 / 4.0 / 4.1 / 4.2 by Zhuhang
I recommend you to try this!
I'm using PowerAMP and first you have to disable Direct Volume Control. Then click on the built in Equalizer and disable EQU, TONE and LIMIT.
Now install the right version of ViPER4Android FX as described (first Manager apk,reboot , then Viper apk) and then install ViPER4Android XHiFi as described. After this you can start your music, start Viper and test what sound fits your ears.

I might install this... Do you recommend installing FX or XHiFi?
Both.
Both have some same options. so deactivate this options in FX and try them in XHiFi. So they can coexist. Some options will use more CPU, so find out what fits you best

I only installed the ViPER4Android FX though.
The installation process was too annoying and didn't work at first, so I didn't want to bother anymore, when I had it running.

For YP-G70 Use Cortex A8 or Cortex A9/15, both works

Thanks!!! I'll try this out later just a question, does this affect battery life and Ram usage to much??
For me it's about the same as using power amp by itself.

LOL, I discovered it the same way as you!
But I can't find a way to make it work with PlayerPro. I just ignores V4A. I think in only recognizes the built-in EQ. How do I disable it?

For me the Viper Mods work very well. I' using powerAmp so I just disabled the DVC.
If you want to increase the effect you should download some Viper Audio Kernels :victory:
New version
Just to let everyone who loves this app, there was an updated release for 4.3. I personally tried it and can't get it to work for my SGP5. Tried everything, followed step by step instructions, went into system/lib/soundfx and deleted driver, tried installing driver 5+times all with reboots, still nothing. All this done all day Sunday after finally upgrading to 4.3 (been putting it off since viper4A was not release for 4.3 yet). I would post on OP but i'm a long time lurker and just got around to creating an account here.
Update: gave up for now on it, tried pm'ing zhuhang about the driver loop issue but he had the same idea i had and just to wait for new release this weekend.
on the upside this situation forced me to experiment with other apps, some may be familiar with noozxide's pro app, which i tried and found lacking. But his e-series version does add a noticeable punch to bass while keeping mid - high range. may wanna try it out if you get bored.

Hi, I'm currently running on SlimSaber. I can't find 'music effect' option in sounds. I wanted to set effect to my Viper4Android app, but I can't.
I don't have DSP manager or Apollo if that helps.

DSP is not working properly.
DSP works sometimes, mostly it works with Apollo Music Player.
You forgot to mention Trebuchet.

I have been playing audio with the Player Pro app. I had installed the DSP (digital sound processing) plugin for it. I just installed Viper. What settings should I have in Player Pro to make use of Viper? Should I set the equalizer to flat and disable the DSP or what? I'm running Nougat.
Any sound mod recommend for redmi 5 plus? i feel the sound less bass. any feedback welcome!
Viper4Android is my favorite.
There is a audio mod available that I've been using for so many years. It's called Xtreme Music Mod. But you won't find it in XDA. You have to search in Google and pick from Google plus community. This mod has normal flashing or magisk module as well. You can flash it with v4a to get atmost audio quality. Following are the my audio mod priority,
1) Xtreme Music + v4a,
2) souron + v4a
PS: both audio mods supports until Oreo. And souron you can install it from magisk repo.
