Hey folks,
I have a problem with my SPG621.
I used to have CM 12.1 on it. I rooted it and installed it via Dual Recovery.
I wanted to update to another Nightly but I got stuck in bootloop. I resolved this by flashing back to 5.0.2 to root it again with King Root.
I acquired root again and wanted to install Dual Recovery again and there is the problem:
No matter what I do, the tablet won't EVER boot into recovery. It just doesn't. I tried to flash a recovery via fastboot to it, and it says success but it won't boot into recovery.
Can anybody help, I would like to have CM12.1 on it again.
King root is BS
I suggest you root kitkat

But what does this have to do with the recovery?
I could solve the problem.
I flashed Android 4.4.4 to it, rooted it again with KingRoot and managed to finally get XZDualRecovery on it. Just strange that it did not work with 5.0.2 (it worked before...).
After wiping my device via TWRP I could install the altest CM12.1 nightly. Thanks a lot.

hey guys, I don't know what happened to my Prime, but this is what I did:
I was on a Nexus 7 ported ROM and it was running fine. Tried to flash PARANOID ANDROID and failed. So I tried to flash Androwook, and now it's stuck on the splash screen. The only thing I can do is boot to the recovery (CWM). Is there anyway I can fix it? Is it bricked?
I am going to assume you have ADB working on your computer. Just download a new rom, your choice, and using the command
adb push C:\NAMEOFFILE \sdcard\Downloads
you don't have to put the file in the downloads folder, just an example. May need Gapps as well. Wipe and flash as normal.

Read post 2 of the androwook thread and get twrp installed.
Make sure you do the ICS to JB upgrade before flashing a Jellybean TWRP. The correct bootloader is the most important part about twrp
And while you still have a chance and are still on the ICS bootloader do this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774352
It wont work once you have Jellybean
Hello,
I followed this post to root and install TWRP recovery on my Sprint Samsung Note 3. The root procedures went well, showing rooted successfully. However, I installed TWRP recovery using GooManager, and also tried installig through Odin.
It shows that TWRP recovery is successfully installed, but I am not able to boot into recovery. The phone seems to try to boot into TWRP for ever.....
Later I read this post, which says that Do not try on Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware!
IS my issue due to my rooting and installing TWRP are based on 4.4.2 (my phone is having new NC5 OTA update)? How shall I do?
Thank you very much for your helps!!!
Did you fiqure it out

You should be suing TWRP 2.7.0.1 and do not use goo manager.. Go to their site and click on the alternate download.. I do believe TWRP mentioned they disable the goo manage download because of issues.. Make sure you are also choosing the right phone.. I have choosing the wrong phone more than once.. Also when your done flashing in odin, and you reboot into recovery manually, make sure you wait until you see the line about recovery, before you release the 3 buttons, or you will just boot into your desktop.. Also you can use TWRP on KItKat firmware as many have done so..
Hi,
I've been fiddling around with Lollipop for the Z2 device today and I've got a question.
Are 5.1.1 based custom ROMs root-possible? I've first managed to make a stock pre-rooted 5.1.1 .ftf and everything was fine, both root and recovery, but my phone was overheating like crazy on it so I decided to try a custom ROM, Paranoid Android to be exact. I got the latest stable from their site and almost successfully installed it using the TWRP. Almost, because I forgot to re-flash the recovery. Then it turned out I can't root it and couldn't find a way to do so. I've since gone back to 4.4.2 using Flashtool, rooted it and installed the XZDualRecovery.
So, my question(s) is/are, what did I do wrong? Would flashing the flashable XZDualRecovery after the custom ROM and gapps sufficied? Or maybe flashing the SuperSU package? Or maybe, is it impossible to have a rooted custom ROM on 5.1.1? And if isn't, I'd be really grateful if someone supplied me with a hint or something, because I don't want to go through all the trouble only to downgrade again.
I'm using this for recovery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785598
And used this guide for the prerooted .ftf, though I guess it's not related at all to my questions, except the SuperSU package I'm thinking of using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: OK, I've tried my own advice and flashed SuperSU and flashable XZDualRecovery after flashing the custom ROM and Gapps. Now the phone is rooted, but the custom recovery doesn't stick. I tried installing again using the installer version, which soft rebooted into the custom recovery, but after the manual boot the recovery was gone and the garbled screens were back.
My question has changed then, what is the way to having a custom recovery on a custom ROM on lollipop 5.1.1?
EDIT2: Nvm fixed it... , I went to NUT's website and made recovery using his kernel creator.
Sorry for wasting space then and I hope my post helps someone eventually.
You can flash superSU via recovery on any rom
Worst that can happen is it bootloops.
Hello
I have a Samsung i9100G running ICS 4.0.3, build no. iml74k.jplp6, baseband i9100gxxlpr, and kernel is 3.0.8 [email protected]#2
I used to have it rooted via "one click root", and had CWM recovery.
After installing Slimkat rom, the recovery automatically became TWRP.
One of my friends wiped the entire phone, and the only way to fix was to restore the original FW "I9100GJPLP6_I9100GOJPLP5_I9100GXXLPR_HOME.tar".
Now, I can not root it, install CWM or TWRP recovery to install any other ROM.
I have searched a lot on xda but I am a rookie.
What I know is I have to root first then install custom recovery, but I can not find the root tool for my device and the custom recovery.
Flashify, rom manager, and other tools always see both recoveries but can not execute anything.
You could try to use different root methods. I used KingoRoot for PC to root mine. Hope I got your problem...
Why cant you root it?
Can you boot into recovery of Stock ROM?
KingoRoot does not support i9100g.
I can boot to the stock recovery.
