LG G2 rebooting!!! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, forgive me I have no idea if this is the right place to post. Mods if it's not please help me out! I have a G2 that was working fine up until the point I did a factory restore. I have never modded or rooted the phone in the past, everything was stock and I restored the phone. Now it doesn't work properly. It makes no sense.
The OS is 4.4.2 I believe, as Rogers in Canada did not release Lollipop for this model. I did another factory reset, and the phone still randomly crashes and reboots. I tried installing Cyanogenmod 12.1 (I believe thru sideload) and it did the same thing - random rebooting.
I have since restored stock firmware with the 1GB KDZ file and it's still crashing.
Is it possible the original factory restore I did cause a hardware issue? Is there any way of finding out exactly what's causing it to crash?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Random freezing

So I have had some weird issues. I was running on Slimbean when this started. Out of nowhere my device started freezing from time to times, like if I was writing a text message or something. Everything would just stop and then I had to reboot the system to get it functional again. This started to get annoying so I did a clean reinstall of Slimbean, formatted system and cache etc. That didn't help so I decided to change the rom. I installed another AOSP rom, Carbonrom but that did't help (of course I did a clean install). After that I decided to try if changing the rom to Sammy based would help. I was wrong.
At this point I taught that something with my hardware would be broken. So I installed triangleaway, formatted system and then installed samsung's official firmware with odin. Then I did a factory reset from system settings. My plans were to send the phone to warranty but strangely after running the stock rom for about a week, the freezing problems were gone, when earlier it was a daily thing.
So now I'm wondering what could have it been and why? If I reroot and install a custom rom now, will the freezing start again?
Hi there,
There's a big thread on this, with a solution(I can confirm that it worked for me):

[Q] E970 - 4.1.2 Causing major problems

I *had* an un-rooted e970 with the standard 4.0.4 installed. I saw an update and updated to 4.1.2. I don't know if this is coincidence or if 4.1.2 just sucks with the Optimus G, but ever since I updated the phone:
(1) Data signal works half the time and decides randomly when it wants to work. (Toggling Airplane-mode and restarting does nothing). I've also factory reset this thing twice and it still has issues.
(2) Now the phone can't auto-rotate even though the option is clearly clicked to ON in the display settings.
Since then, I rooted my phone hoping something might trigger it, but no luck. Ultimately I want my issues fixed, but I think downgrading to 4.0.4 might fix the issues but I have no idea how to do that. Can anyone help?
Have you tried or considered flashing 4.1.2 stock meaning a complete flash of the latest available stock ROM using the LGNPST tool? I don't mean flashing 4.0.4 and then doing the OTA to 4.1.2, I mean completely flashing the LGE970AT-01-V20j-310-410-MAR-08-2013 build direct to the device in download mode using LGNPST... that might help alleviate some of the issues you noted, it might not, but it probably can't hurt to take that step. If it doesn't, you can then flash back to 4.0.4 which is out there as LGE970AT-00-V10o-ATT-US-SEP-29-2012-0. I think there's a V11c build as well posted someplace by SnowLeopardJB too.
As for the auto-rotate thing, I know one of the radios has been noted to have an effect on that, perhaps somehow that could be related. Flashing the stock 4.1.2 fully should help since it'll flash the stock JB AT&T radio, or at least it should, that might help with the auto-rotate too.

Root w/Casual causes crash at boot, help! (VRAMC3)

Hi all,
I recently restored my phone back to stock VRAMC3 4.1.2, as I had been having quite a few lockups lately on CM11.
I noticed that the phone was shutting down every time it tried to access the Verizon network, generally right at boot, as soon at the boot animation ended. Without a SIM card the phone runs fine.
I traced this back to the Casual Root procedure, as done using the following tool, which had always worked fine in the past: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272066
As soon as I boot the phone after unlocking/rooting, the shutdowns begin. This is coming from a freshly ODIN'd 4.1.2 which was working normally.
I'm pretty perplexed as to what would be causing this. At this point, I'm sick of having an unstable phone, and just wanted to flash a deodexed stock rom with tethering unblocked.
Any advice?
I have searched, but to no avail on this specific issue.
Thank you.

Need help, endless reboots

Was running the unofficial lineage 14.1 rom, was getting frustrated with all the gps problems so I decided to try fulmics. Well cell service didn't work on fulmics, so I wanted to switch back and tough out the gps problems until lineage team got things fixed. Recovery seems to be working fine, but any rom I try to install simply endless reboots before every getting to the initial set up. I am at a loss, I am thinking I didn't have the new lg bootloader as I was told to have before trying to install fulmics. How the hell can I fix my phone? I always thought as long as recovery worked I would be fine, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Anyone help before I have to go out and buy a new phone tomorrow?

PMd you.
I found a fix, I completely wiped everything and first flashed just the stock 7.0 lg bootloader, now everything is working fine. Thanks for the message though!

No problem ?
Same Problem
I have the exact same problem. I flashed the LineageOS ROM, then flashed Fulmics ROM, then tried to go back to Lineage—and now every ROM just reboots endlessly, but I can boot into recovery and access TWRP just fine.
It looks like jamesvmccann found a fix, by "completely wiped everything and [then] flash[ing] just the stock 7.0 lg bootloader." I'm afraid I don't know where to download the stock 7.0 lg bootloader. This is a h830, so that may matter as well.
Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.
Managed to fix this problem myself
The stock h830 bootloader was linked in this forum post.
I booted into TWRP and flashed the stock bootloader. It has a different bootflash.
H850 keeps booting into Recovery
Hello everyone, I have a H850 and my phone does not want to boot into the OS. It keeps booting into Recovery mode. I tried flashing only the H850 bootloader and then installing a ROM, and it doesn't work. I've formatted everything except the SD card and still no joy. What else can I do to restore my H850?
Please Help!

How to hard reset after Nougat update?

Recently my phone started rebooting in random moments. After doing some research I think that some system files are corrupted. I tried doing factory reset in recovery, but thats not what I wanted because my system version is still 7.0, while initially it was 6.0 and the problem still occurs. Is there a way to do complete reset to factory setting and restore system?
There's no way back to 6.0 for now unfortunately, updating to 7.0 updates the bootloader so any attempt to flash 6.0 back with a pc will leave the phone unable to boot. I think a signed bootloader from 6.0 would be required, and hasn't been released.
There are ways to re flash the stock firmware of 7.0, but I'm not sure if that'd help as I did that recently and still get the occasional reboot.
You also get this random reboots? Is it more common problem?
Your best bet is probably to find an alternative download for the same firmware you have now. Hopefully that helps.
I OTA'd to Nougat the day I got my Z, it was on MM, and all is well. So not sure it's an issue with N itself, more likely corrupt download, as you said.
No, you cant downgrade, not without great risk. Same for all Moto's these days.

Yeah i do get them but rarely, and i am on a custom kernel so it could be that causing it for me. If factory reset doesn't help I would try flashing stock Nougat again.
