So, I have a samsung galaxy young s6312, stock android 4.1.2 jellybean, rooted. Since the internal memory is very low, I use link2sd to link app files to my external sd card. Now I have created an ext2 partition of 1.5 gb to use with link2sd. but now the partition is full, and my internal memory is also full, because I have installed about 3gb of apps in my phone, half are in the second partition, and half are on my internal memory. so now I want to know if there is a way I can increase the size of my second partition. if I had enough memory, I would have moved the apps to my internal memory temporarily, but I don't have enough internal memory to move the linked apps to my internal memory. so is there any way to increase size of second partition without formatting it?? NOTE: I don't have any problem in formatting the first partition if necessary, but I can't format the second partition. NOTE: the sd card I use is of 8 gb...
Thanks...........
I have the same issue...
... so I'm disappointed to see that no one has replied.
I have a rooted LD-D520 with Android 4.1.2. Since I quickly ran out of memory I added an 8GB SD card and partitioned it with a 1.5GB ext2. I used Link2SD to them move over most all my apps. I don't have that many, but some of them have gotten so big (FB, Skype, etc.) that I now have only 5% free space on the ext2. I don't have much space left on the internal memory either, so I thought I'd try to make the ext2 partition bigger. (There's lot of free space on the SD card since I'm not using much of the other partition.) I tried using the MiniTool Partition Wizard, but even after reducing the size of the non-ext2 partition to create some unallocated space I was still unable to resize the ext2 partition.
Any suggestions? Is there an easy way to do this?
Hello, i searched for long time to use sd card as internal storage i tryed lot of a2sd app but it not worked like i wanted, until i try mount2sd, i have a 64gb memory card, i made a fat 32 partition of 5gb and a 50 gb partition in ext-3 for install app, i moved all android system in, but now in setting i have the 16gb of internal storage (who is nearly empty because all was moved to the ext-3 partition) and the 5gb fat 32 partition for the sd card. I send you pictures in attachment you can see what i talking about.
and the 50 gb partition is not here it is invisible it is just visible in titanium backup or root explorer i made a shortcut in the home screen.
but now the question is: is there a thing to do like in xposed module or modify a text in system or anything to do for make the 50 gb ext-3 partition visible in parameter/setting? i searched in google but found no answer so i tryed here maybe someone can make an app or an exposed module to make it visible?
because i see you can make custom rom, i see in volt.stab but don't know what to write for add the partition...
can anyone help me or tell me its is possible or make it possible? or its to hard to make?
thanks for the answer have a nice day!:victory:
No one have the same problem? or is interesting of make ext-3 partition visible in setting?
So a long time ago I had CM7 installed and never updated and it was my first an only modification to my tablet. Since then my memory card died and I had to RMA it. I'm now trying to do this all over again and I'm finding some difficulties.
I followed the steps below from here:
SDCARD IMAGE: boot.zip *Updated BOOT contents (flashing_boot.img, etc..)
0d4738f80f12da03988b372be1812a57 *cm_acclaim_10.2.0-RC0_13OCT2013_HD_SDC_IMG.7z (mirror)
flashable_expand_bootable_sdcard.zip
flash_format_data1_sdcard.zip
After burning the image and booting from your SDCard, boot into Cyanoboot menu and select “SDC Recovery“. In TWRP/Recovery, select “sdcard” location and select “flashable_expand_bootable_sdcard.zip”. This will auto resize the “data1” and “sdcard” partition on your card. You can do this manually using partition software like MiniTool or GParted. Initial boot time is around a couple minutes. If you are stuck at the booting animation for over 5 minutes, then there is a problem. Power off your device by holding down the power button and boot into “SDC Recovery” again. This time select “flash_format_data1_sdcard.zip” and reboot. When you get into home screen and the notification, say the “sdcard” is blank and ask you to format, do so. It will reformat the “sdcard” partition (Partition 4 on the SDCard) to Fat32.

I burned the image then booted the nook. It went into android no problem. I then followed the next step with going into recovery and running the first listed file. No problem so I didn't have to run the next one. I started installing apps again from the Play store and ran into an issue with space. Apparently for some reason I'm getting stuck with 4 partitions on this 32gb sd card with 24gb being completely unused. I opened the mini partition program and noticed this partition wasn't active. I preceded to activate it and put it back in my nook. Now it just boots to stock Nook.
So apparently setting the last 24gb partition screwed things up. Do I have to start over again with the above mentioned instructions?
Finally how the heck am I able to use the full space on the sd card? With the above directions I'm only left with a couple 100mb on each partition. I don't even understand why there are 4 partitions on the sd card in the first place. I understand the BOOT partition but there should only be one other partition and that is what CM10.2 and anything else you put on/install should reside.
UPDATE
I did some digging around on the above link and found information about resizing the partitions.
Install 7-zip if you can’t extract the file.
Extract cm-10.1-2013xxxx-acclaim-HD-SDC.img from cm-10.1-2013xxxx-acclaim-HD-SDC-img.rar/zip
This is a 2GB image that can be burn to a 2GB or bigger microSD card.
After installation, DATA1 partition 3 and SDCard only has xxx MB.
Many will want to expand their SDCard if it is bigger than 2GB.
You need to use a partition software on your computer to modify your SDCard partitions.
Delete (P4, FAT32 SDCARD) and re-size (P3, DATA1) then recreate (P4, FAT32 SDCARD).
(P3 DATA1) If the label don’t show, it’s OK.
Yes, you can delete P3 DATA1 and recreate it. P3 DATA1 has to be EXT4 PRIMARY.
P3 DATA1, store your installed apps and apps data.
P4 SDCard, store your data, apps downloaded data.
You want to expand the last 2 partitions (FAT32 SDCARD) for more storage.
I've done that. Yet still get space problems inside android.
Looking up storage under settings I show to have the following:
Internal Storage
Total Space 26.05GB
Available 24.43GB
Apps 256MB
Cached Data 6.58MB
Then I have another Internal Storage listed
Internal Storage
Total Space 7.45GB
Available 3.5GB
This must be the actual Nook internal storage.
Pulling up the apps under settings and I show 1.6gb used 24gb free.
Why is it I don't have the access to the space for app installations?

Click to collapse
I'm pretty sure you can. You go to Settings>Apps>Downloaded Apps, then you click on an app and hit "Move to sdcard."
Note that this does not work for all apps.
The other, more geeky way is to remap your internal partition with the external sdcard via /system/vold.fstab modifications. I suggest getting acquainted with Android some, learn how to use adb shell, then continue with this route.
The last time I had CM working before the sd card crapped I had full use of the sd card without moving things to the sd card. Apps installed to the full sized partition on their own.
So something must not be right somewhere. I also don't want the internal storage messed with as I also use this device for it's original intention.
CanvasHD has 4GB of advertised space out of which only 0.9GB is available for apps installation while other 1.7GB is for files.
Now for me 0.9GB is just too little to install apps. Is there a way to change partition sizes and get more space from 1.7GB partition to the 0.9GB partition. I don't mind if I have only 500MB for files because most of my files are stored to my SD Card. Please Help. I'm tired of that low storage warning.
And yes, I'm rooted...

Hi,
How it happended :I wanted to just Overclocked the CPU of my Swipe Monster tab XL916,and as a consequence my device got hanged .I rebooted it and it was still working but it had no User apps in it.
What happened:It was a strange when I checked out in Setting>Storage that now i had two internal storage partition(Strange)....One partition was just 16 mb( i call it the artificial internal storage) and other was The Other was the actual partition which was 5GB in size. Now its considering the 16 mb as the actual internal and assuming the actual internal memory as sd card(although i also have a addition external sd card on my device that is 8GB in size).
As a reult of which:Thus i could only install apps which actually get installed on sd card (or which can move most of its part to sd card for eg mx player). And also these apps get removed on every boot .
What i think could have happened:Maybe it could have changed some system files which led to changes in overall system partition table. I am seriously not able to understand what has went wrong with my device. Please help in in settling these changes to internal partitions.
Extra Info:One more thing have come to my notice that when i install some apps to the system memory(using adb push) it reflects in the artificial internal storage as well.(it became 34 mb from 16mb)That means the artificial internal storage is none other than a part of system memory which due to some problem in partition table is being reflected as internal memory. If you need output of any adb command just tell me.
