Hello fellow xda users
Im am new to the whole business of rooting and unrooting. A couple weeks ago i rooted my galaxy s6 edge (SMG-925F) and i installed extrestolite. Before i installed extrestolite i made a TWRP backup of the stock rom. Which was running android 5.1.1 .Unfortenately my pc had some issues and i lost the original rom backup. I don' t have on my phone either since the backup was about 9gb and i have only 32 gigs of storage. If anyone can do a system dump for their 925f (running android 5.1.1) or link me too a place where i can doenload the full stock rom would be very much appreciated.
All you need is to download the odin tar file from a website like sammobile. If you need me to I will download the file for you and upload it to dropbox or onedtive so you can download it without signing up for anything

Yes that includes system, recovery, and bootloader(just part of the update) if the rom your using is 5.1.1 you dont need to wipe data or internal storage all it does is replace the recovery system and bootloader and your data will stay the same. Ive done so on my g925p

I have some queries. I live in Pakistan and my current firmware is of UK/Ireland. My phone is unbranded so will XWLS8 work on my network? Do I need to make a backup of my efs folder before flashing XWLS8? Also I have reset my counter to zero and I see no triangle when my phone boots up, so will flashing via PC Odin increase the counter? Or I should do it using Mobile Odin Pro? Please guide!
Thanks in advance!

Hello Guys,
my s2 GT-19100 is rooted with original 4.1.2 and CRW. Everything works fine...then I found an update from SUSuperUser App in PlayStore to upgrade from 0.99 to 1.25. After I downloaded and installed this update, su asks me to install in NORMAL or CRW mode...so I choose CRW.
Phone rebooted but no nothing happens...I tried everything VOL-UP+Power+Main-Button...no reaction...put battery out and in...no reaction :
Please help me...what do I have to do now?
Why update in Cwm mide when you can update in android.
Pull out battery 5 min
Then try to charge for a while.
Then try again
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
After I opened the app, it first asks me to update binaries...i clicked YES. After that there comes another install/update procedure...not the update procedure from play store...to install SU and there were 2 options (NORMAL OR CWM)...I remembered I uses CWM while rooting my phone so I took that option...and SU reboots my phone and now nothing works...
Ok I will try
Some kind of a brick... try that if doesnt work you need an USB jig to force it to download mode

ok I will do that now...
I uses jeboo kernel
OK its done...now it opens:
Android system recovery (3e)
options:
- reboot system now
- apply update from external storage
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- apply update from cache
- test redbend fota[FS]
E:bad option "fs_options=loop"
can't unmount /system (no such file or directory)
What are you do in cwm?
Just restart phone when flashed kernel

I dont think you listening carefully.
You said that you updated your SUPERSU and choose for some reason CWM and you bricked it.
Then you said you can use Downloadmode. Fine its not hardbrick.
Then you said youre on stock JB 4.1.2 and rooted with annother kernel. OK
Now you flashed siyah and then you get into Recovery? Why do you do that.
Why dont you just restart the phone and it will boot into android. Why WIPE?
These options come automatically after flashing siyah and reboot by odin. Now my phone loads again...yeeeeeeah it works
Do I have to remove/uninstall the old jeboo kernel? And if yes, HOW ?
Thank you so much

No you dont need to uninstall. You kernel is removed automaticly by kernel you just flashed. And in that case Siyah or wich one you choose.
Glad that it works
What is the cm10.1 stuff on the same post on siyah homepage? Do I need this also ?

NO. CM10 is Custom Rom version. Its compatible with Siyah. So CM10 is not a kernel its a ROM
Siyah , Dorimanx and Philz is KERNELS you just flashed to get root acess and Clockworkmod recovery to flash custom ROMS
But now you have yellow triangle when you start you S2 dont you?
Remove it with app called Triangle Away.
Yes I have this triangel...but is this bad or just a picture?

No not bad. It just showing you that phone is flashed with something CUSTOM like CUSTOM ROM or Custom Kernel.
Do you have MSN or Something. I can give you Triangle Away app and you can reset the counter
For People like me who are to lazy to turn on PC and download several files to flash a stock rom or recovery there is a perfect solution to flash stock roms right on the phone!
I can confirm that you Can't brick your phone by using THIS version
Mobile Odin for GT-S5570-S5660-S5830 (ONLY!)
How to install?
1.download Mobile Odin for Galaxy Ace and install it
2. download Mobile Odin Flash Kernel for Galaxy Ace and install it
Run Mobile Odin now and grant superuser permission
Let Odin set up.
After it tick the box where you want to install somethin (recovery, rom etc.) and then look for the right .tar.md5 file and check it
After everything is set up scroll down and press on "Flash"
Enjoy !

It's great we now have mobile ODIN for our Ace, but should't this be in the themes and apps section?
we can't flash firmware? please help usb on my gio is dead only charge i want to flash stock rom with odin mobile but i can't, only kernel
So here's the story..
I recently decided to root my Galaxy s6 Edge 6.0.1. The root worked fine.
However, I found out that it caused the default phone app to not work properly. I could call and receive calls, but neither of us could hear each other.
I downloaded this one app that can modify system apps. I went to the phone app, backed it up, deleted, and tried to re install. However.. It failed me. It would not let me use the backup I had created, and just let me to the google play store.
After trying so many things to fix it, I ended up just removing the root, and factory reset my phone. Now I have a new problem. It wont even let me call anyone. It tells me "Unfortunately com.android.phone has stopped working". Now I tested it to see if it was the actual phone. I downloaded WhatsApp and tried calling from there. It worked fine, and I could hear the other person and they could hear me. Which lead me to believe that it was a problem with the systems phone.
Is there anyway to get that back? What can I do? Please help, I literally just voided my warranty 24 hours ago and now it's about to bite me in the ass....
There are only 2 ways you are going to get it back

Well Currently installing the stock firmware. Have a bit of time before that's downloaded, But I found this: (Except with my model instead of OP's) http://thedroidguy.com/2015/08/flas...sung-galaxy-s6-to-fix-rebooting-issue-1048633

You just need sammobile to get your firmware

Could you give a log and some details about your rom, please? Is it a beta or can be used as a daily driver?
Thanks

Daily driver.
I downloaded the zip and tried to flash it. In TWRP it starts to extract files with the progress bar only a 1/4 of the way over and after about 10 seconds it reboots back into recovery as if it crashed. I figured it was a bad download so I downloaded it again and tried a second time and same thing. not sure if it a bad upload or what I am doing wrong. I am using rooted version. Thanks
