Bootloop/Boot Certification Error (Please Help) - Verizon LG G3

Hi, my G3 (vs985) was running 24b, rooted, and I installed TWRP Manager and installed a custom recovery. all went fine until I got a secure boot error whenever I booted to recovery. After tinkering and thinking I found a possible solution, I used autorec which gave a Success in installing twrp, and booted back in to recovery where I got a into an LG Security Error and would continue switching between the logo and the security error screen. I was still able to get into twrp through the factory recovery menu and going to factory reset which sends me to twrp. I tried restoring a backup I had previously made, and that went successfully but now my issue is that I'm stuck in a boot certification error with the light blinking blue and red and I am unable to get into download mode, but am still able to get into twrp and get into my phone's files. I don't trust myself anymore, and would absolutely love some guidance on this. If I do try to go to download mode, and I connect it to my pc, my pc makes the noise as if it were connecting, and the phone vibrates, but the screen turns black and nothing "seems" to pop up. I can try to answer any questions, I am somewhat new to this. Thank you in advance!
EDIT: The error I'm currently getting is:
"Secure Boot Error
Cause: Boot Certification Verify".

I'm guessing that you used the 23C autorec which put the wrong bootloader on the phone for 24B. From TWRP. I'd create a backup in TWRP, dirty flash JasmineROM 8.0 (in other words, no wiping), then you should be good.

I had this yesterday. Did the same thing.
I finally resolved it by getting back into TWRP from the OEM recovery, Full System Wipe menu item. TWRP allowed me to mount the storage on my computer and flash SkyDragon 5.0. I still can't get back into recovery, but at least the phone works better than stock Lollipop.

Boulder, I'm not sure I understand what you wrote, twrp is recovery, so if you can flash using twrp are you just unable to access it ...it must me installed on your phone? I haven't flashed using the computer in a long time, so it's not really fresh in my mind what you did. If you power down your phone, then hold the power and vol down button simultaneously, it will reboot, release buttons, then as soon as you see the lg logo, press the power/volu down simult. again, and it will take you to a screen that gives you options you can choose using the volume up/down keys to navigate and power to choose a button. Wipe cache would take you into twrp if it is indeed installed on your phone. If you can access twrp however you did previously, you can flash a zip file of twrp (I use 2.8.7.0, I think it is the newest, it is newer than what was in autorec that I tried last night). Wipe davalcik/cache after you flash the twrp zip and reboot your phone and you should be fine....although I think you may actually have twrp already (hence 'recovery"} based on what you posted. Good luck.

I did flash the 23C version of Autorec into my 24b phone. This gave me the Security Error bootloop.
Eventually I was able to get into LG stock recovery with the volume down button. Magically, hitting Factory Wipe brings me to the hidden TWRP. From there I flashed base SD5.0. In Android, I installed the Autorec 24b apk and reinstalled TWRP. This again security looped.
Now, I can't even access LG bootloader or TWRP. Even the QuickBoot app fails to boot to revovery. But, the phone works, so I don't want to break it further. Might just wait for a development upgrade to SkyDragon.

How I bricked my HDX Thor

I think I finally bricked my device. I'm guilty. Just want to keep track of everything I did and share how it's bricked.
1. Everything starts because the 4g LTE stopped working. The device starts to give me "Invalid SIM" message no matter how I try. Same message with either T-mobile sim card or the stock AT&T sim card. At this time, the device is on TWRP 2.8.1.0 with Thor Gapps Rom ( 13.3.2.4 ).
2. Thinking it might be a ROM issue, I restored 13.3.2.3.2. Same error message: Invalid SIM.
3. Thinking to restore everything stock before returning it to amazon, I flash stock recovery.img to overwrite TWRP and restored 13.3.2.6 backed-up with safestrap. System starts up but has some issue: it always goes back to selecting language page.
4. Flashed update-kindle-13.4.5.2_user_452004120-twrp.zip to stock slot with safestrap in hope of fixing everything. Now system stalls at the white "Kindle fire" screen.
I know that zip is for twrp, but I thought twrp can take backup made with safestrap, why not the other way around?! Well, I'm unlucky this time. One shall never touch stock slot with safestrap. I think I should have used the official update-kindle-13.4.5.2_user_452004220.bin and update through Device-update menu. Oh well.
Any way I can still play with this device before it set off for amazon?

Did you already try just holding onto the power button for over 20sec , to force a hard reset and get back into RECOVERY
the rest I'm not sure about you say you are on Thor gapps? with our new 2. 8. 1. 0?
did he make that compatible? I didn't realize Thor gapps was compatible
and what are you even doing with the update .5.2 ?that is the KitKat update and is completely incompatible with safestrap or older kernels so I am really confused on what you have stated in above post
or do you have that TRW P recovery flashed and somehow using safestrap also?
looks like to me you have flashed everything but the right thing but then again it's really hard to tell what you have going on here.
Holding the power button for over 20 sec does me nothing. I can enter "Kindle Fire System Recovery" the same way I entry twrp though by holding power and volume up during booting. There are two options there:
Reboot your Kindle
Reset to Facotry Defaults
I tried both and none helped me to boot into system.
I hate it that HDX is not like Samsung Galaxy phones which have a true recovery mode that can flash file, or a download mode that allows access via adb.
I think the reason that my hdx is bricked are:
1. First, I overwrote twrp with stock recovery 13.3.4 (because I want to restore to stock mode for return). Otherwise if I can still enter twrp, I will be saved.
2. Second, the file I flashed to stock slot with safestrap, update-kindle-13.4.5.2_user_452004120-twrp.zip, is made to boot with twrp. I guess it doesn't go well with the stock recovery 13.3.4.

Can't flash an update to Phone, indicator just blinks blue.

Hi,
I am completely stuck trying to work with my Wind Version Huawei Ascend mate 2. I managed to upgrade it to 5.1 using an owe, then brought it to B148 then up to B309. but then I tried to root it with SuperSU. Only to have it not get past the huawei icon screen.
I used a backup I made of B128 with TWRP and that works fine, but now every time I try and up the volume up + volume down + power to flash the update to B148 again or to do anything involving flash the LED indicator just starts flashing blue and nothing will happen.
Does anyone know a way to restore to factory at all without flashing through the volume up + volume down + power? I did try to do a local update selection from the setting menu but that just opens the TWRP menu.
Thanks so much for any help.
Edit: Additionally I try and do a wipe or backup system or most thinks in TWRP and it tells me this error 'E: Cannot mount interal storage' and I still get asked all the time if I want to install SuperSU despite uninstalling it.
Instead of go back to stock, Can you flash it again to B309 without SuperSU? From you description, this is doable. Just ignore supersu install/update request for now (both twrp screen and android screen).
If you can boot into android fine. Make a twrp backup and make sure restore works.
After that, you can try allow supersu install/update, and remember wait longer time when booting to android. If still hang, restore from twrp and try different supersu image or even different ROM.
You CAN'T GO from b309 directly to b148, the internal storage is setup different.

Do you have TWRP installed as a custom recovery? If so I understand your need to flash the default recovery img or updating from the phone will fail on reboot.
Check our autoprime's all in one guide that might help you troubleshoot and restore your phone to MM or N

Is there a way to check what custom recovery I've installed? It's been a while since I rooted my phone..
Turn off the phone or remove the battery. Then, hold down the volume down button and then the power button. Keep them both held till you see the LG logo, then release the power button and briefly press and hold the power button again. If successful you should see a white, factory restore menu. Use the volume keys to navigate and the power button to select yes on both the two screens. NB if you do not have a custom recovery this will factory restore your phone-so make a backup. If you do have a custom recovery, it should boot up e.g TWRP
From here you can flash the default boot loader img and then update ota

When I restart my phone and use those keys my phone is booting into the white screen where I can go into factory restore.. Do I need to install a custom recovery first?
Once in the white screen, to see if you do have a custom recovery installed, you need to select yes on both screens to enter the custom recovery. As I said before, if you do not have a custom recovery (such as TWRP) you will factory reset your phone and lose all settings so make backups first.
Before all that though, how did you root and into it your phone- that will give me an idea as to if you have a custom recovery installed

I've been using the bootloader unlock from this link
So you most likely flashed TWRP if you followed the instructions verbatim. How did in root?

Flashed the SuperSU with TWRP, it's down below at the tutorial page.
Now I only need to know what I need for the stock recovery and how I can update my phone
For the stock recovery, I have 6.01 10E stock recovery here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3j5Gs11w3EqVzNwa0h3b2tVWmc/view?usp=drivesdk
Hopefully that should work. If not, you can extract the recovery image from the full zips on autoprime's all in one LG g5 post.
Good luck
Hope I will get it working xD Thanks for your help!

Can't get TWRP to boot on LG Stylo 3 plus

I had my phone rooted with SuperSU. Decided that I wanted to use Magisk for the hide root features. Re-Flashed my phone to Stock Firmware, then checked if TWRP was still installed. It wasn't so I flashed it with ADB said that it flashed but I can not boot into it. When I go into recovery it boots to factory recovery.
I've tried erasing the the recovery and re-flashing with TWRP through ADB still boots to factory.
I have my bootloadrer unlocked from with I rooted the first time. Under Developer option it's Greyed out in the On position. Oh and USB Debugging is on.
Any help will be appreciated.

If you can boot your phone into system, download flashify. I had similar problem recently. Flashify helped me flash twrp into my phone & I was able to get into recovery with no problem. Also download a copy of twrp into o your phone.
PS: did you try to flash with the fastboot command? I've always had issues when I try to do anything with adb on this phone.

Hopefully you got this fixed dalready but I'm pretty sure after flashing twrp you are just rebooting without removing battery to power down, I had the same problem when I didn't remove batt. then put back in and boot to recovery that way. I guess the stock system will replace twrp if it gets booted into os before you boot into recovery.. Hope this helps.
Its the white screen throwing you off right click yes on both continue to hold voulme down and power then it will boot to twrp. Any it will not i repeat it will not wipe your data even thow you chose yes on white screen, hope this helps.
I'm in the same position as the OP, Keaso.
Bootloader unlocked, loaded custom recovery through fastboot, battery removed, but when I boot into recovery, I get the stock recovery, white screen, if I select yes and yes, it goes back to the factory white screen. And contrary to what 420bud420 posted, it DOES I repeat it DOES wipe your data.
This does not seem like an uncommon glitch with this phone, any help appreciated.

that's the important part, I don't really know how much the t-mobile models differ from the H930 ones
but there should be fastboot ? download mode ? "factory reset" functionality (via button dance botting into TWRP) ?

You might have done what I did which is flash twrp.img in recovery.. it won't go back to initial password screen. I did that and had the same issues.. I recently did it.. now it only restores backups which is how I got lineage or other rooms back.. after wiping the system partition, it also only flashes stock debloated room, but anything else I flash crash system partition.. I'm going to start over but with treble recovery in root process and just avoid messing with it..

Did you restores the recovery as well? I did that which is suspect source of the problem number 2.. even flashing magisk crash my system partition.. but not the magisk in the stock room, probably cause it's built in.. or any restores.. either way I'm going to start over.. not touching recovery after root & not backing up recovery partition to confirm a few things.. can you flash debloated rom after formatting system partition? Aroma gapps don't work for me but other gapps does.. I found out the hard way cause I didn't see any information on it in the threads.. I read it's a common issue with TWRP recovery on multiple devices..

Did you not have a backup of your rom using twrp before you made the change? Isn't that the whole point of having twrp and a phone with SD card? Always backup your whole phone before making a change. It has saved my phone many times.

Yes I had a back up but it was twrp acting up by not being able to boot.
My phone was just booting back to twrp even when pressing power off some how by finally powering off the device (letting it discharge all the way) that was the only thing that fix it me twrp started working fine after that
My twrp has been acting funny/unpredictable. Or I am not doing something right. Mostly has to do with the restore function. I generally have two separate roms backed up in restore. But, lately, I will see only one listed. When I get back to the phone and check in my root manager, I will see them both listed. And then later, it (Rom) "might or might not" return to the restore function area.
But, lately it seems that when I restore the system, I can not open it up in the lock screen (does not recognize the pin). I have to turn the phone off, then use the vol down and power button to get back into twrp. Luckily, I have a couple of roms downloaded in the install section which then does let me flash and reboot, but I have to start new/over.
I don't know if reflashing twrp in recovery will help or not (have never done it).
I'm afraid one of these times I will some how get locked out or not be able to flash a good rom.

when it doesnt recognize your pin, go (in twrp file manager) to /data/system/ and delete the locksettings.db(-sh/-wal) files...
I think that was the path, you can google that too ^^
Thx, SGCMarkus, I did delete just the one db only file. It did away with the pin unlock code on reboot (but I did not do a restore, just a reboot back into my system), so I assume it will work. I will try it when I have time. I think that deletion has to be done everytime in twrp, because the line does reappear the next time I booted back into twrp?
Thx.
