I found a screendamaged Galaxy S3, took off the simcard but the phone is locked via PIN also.
How can I reset the PIN?

power off the device
Go to recovery mode(Press and hold Volume Up +middle Home button + Power button)
Wait for the Android logo to appear and release the buttons
Select Wipe data/Factory reset with Volume Down, press Power
Select Yes – delete all user data with Volue Down and press Power
Reboot system

I test this with a E110 but not working.
When you hold vol up and the left send key together and power up phone and hold volup and send key you see the Android system recovery utility.
Now you can select reboot system,apply sdcard:update.zip and wipe data/factory reset.
Press and hold camera botton and power on your handset
Howto reset acer e110
HOWTO:
1.turn off
2.press left button + volume up (hold down)
3.press power button
.......and wait.......
4.select reset and wipe
5.reboot
Finish.

my set is ok now from stuck on logo problem.
This is my first post and I hope it will help you to fix the problem with wrong weather widget location.
I had this problem for a while.
I have tried all the potential solutions but nothing worked.
For those who do not want to root their phone and do not want to install other weather app for many reasons i will show you the best solution that worked for me and i hope it will help other people.
First of all, back up all your settings with Kies. -It is important because you will lose ALL your data if you do not.
After that disconnect the phone from usb and go to recovery mode (press Vol. UP + Home Button + Power Button until you see the Samsung Galaxy SIII logo)
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to wipe data/factory reset and press the Power Button
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to Yes -- delete all user data and press the Power Button
Once that procedure finished and you are in the main menu of recovery mode
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to wipe cache partition and press the Power Button.
Once that procedure finished and you are in the main menu of recovery mode
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to wipe data/factory reset and press the Power Button
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to Yes -- delete all user data and press the Power Button
Once that procedure finished and you are in the main menu of recovery mode
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to reboot system now and press the Power Button
Setup your phone as you did for first time
And then connect the phone to your PC using Kies to restore the backup that you did before.
It worked for me and I have no problem at all.
*** I haven’t try all this to other SG3 such as Sprint, Verizon or Rogers. I have tried this only to the International Version of SG3 ***

hi guys i brought a 2nd hand galxay ace im trying to do factory restore but its got a samsung account and i dont know password to remove it is there a way i can do this so i can do a factory reset????? thanks

Resetting Via recovery: [Easiest Method]
Switch off your phone!
While rebooting Press Home key+ vol up + Power
This will take you to System recovery!
Move using volume keys and use home key for selection!
Select Wipe data
Thats it!
Note: You will lose all your data!

1. First turn off the device
2. For a few seconds, hold down the Volume (+) + Turn on
3. When we see the Android image or the Sharp logo on the display, we stop clicking on the buttons
4. Press the Enable button to enter Recovery

I have the same problem but can not doing the hard reset like the way you show here
It turned on the phone again after i press any button when seeing the logo, even trying to connect to pc
