Hi everyone, I hope someone can help with this question.....is there a way to change OS settings so that certain apps only use a certain amount of cpu cores?? Like say, on a quad core device, I want to set an app to only use 2 cores, allowing the other 2 to stay free for other tasks. I mainly want to use this for the Play Store when it updates apps. When an app is being installed, my Note 2 becomes laggy and damn near unusable for 5-10 seconds until it is completely installed. Any help is greatly appreciated and would make whoever helps me out my hero of the week!
If someone has any other suggestions to cut down on the installation lag I'm all ears. Thanks

Hi all,
I am a newbie @ Android application development, and still trying to learn. I have one question. If we take for example, the Greenify app, if i look into its memory consumption, the value is quite low (3.4MB +-) whereas, with my app, it always hover around 20MB or so. I wonder, how can i achieve the same result? Anybody can help? My application is a simple monitoring app for my client company, contains 2 services, 3 Activities (1 service and Activity for saving the account into the device). And even in fresh state, the memory always takes around 20MB.
Thanks for any info
I recently moved to a BLU Studio energy and I am enjoying it very much. I use limited apps/services on my phone and want to know what would be the best launcher, settings and/or apps to utilize to limit RAM usage. I want to know if using the stock apps, (browser, messaging, music, etc...) will help utilize the RAM better or if I need a different launcher or both.
The phone has 1gb and consistently runs at 80% of max. I have not received a warning, however, I would like to be proactive in preparation. The phone is a quad core Mediatek running 4.4.2 on a seemingly thin BLU skin. I run one home page, no widgets and have shut off all animations. I would like to see the phone running with what I need around 60-70% of max. I currently use mostly google applications and have listed the extras below that I must have. I am open to all suggestions, even changing apps to more ram friendly types and will provide whatever information about the phone as I know it is a new model and there is not a lot of info here as of yet. I also am aware that there is a way to add RAM from an SD card, but, there is no guide to rooting listed here on site so it is not a viable option as of yet.
Apps on Phone beyond stock:
Amazon
Keep
Feedly
Gamestop
Last.fm
Keepsafe
Shuttle
Wallet
Rigdata
I truly appreciate any help or respectful opinions that can be offered.
try nova launcher
experiment and see which runs the best for your phone each is different

May be no need to open app and optimise game manually. It may automatically optimises game when you open according to your GPU and game graphics requirements.

Anyone know more about this system app installed on Samsung devices?
Samsung Bloatware
Anyone know more about this potential bloatware installed on Samsung Android devices?
Does it actually improve gaming as implied by the name, Game Optimizing Service?
Does this app install other apps?
This app is a service needed by Game Tuner to operate. Game Tuner is a really good app, as it allows to customize some aspects of the phone when games are launch. For example: you can lower the resolution at which the game will be rendered, reduce the quality of the textures, allow the phone to exceed certain temperature limiters, use MACRO mode, among other options.
There must be more to it than that because I have never played a game on my phone and I don't have any other gaming apps on my phone except this one and it uses my mobile data and runs in the background and restarts itself when after I stop it change very strange to me I think there are other things in play here that we are not meant to know
GameService SOFTWAREThrottling before HW Throttling
Old thread I know..
I have a Exynos Note 9
Came across and applied THIS.
Youtube.com/embed/h4F0L-soM1I
Worked for me, esp Longterm Pubg FPS staying near 60fps at FHD+ in HD Preset the entire time..
Not the usual 10-15mins until 40-45fps starts happening and stays there.
Thought its worth sharing this Software does in fact impose its own rules and once removed, your at the peril of Hardware level throttling schemes..
hi, I have a huawei gr5, the cellular one becomes overheated very much and there ends the battery very rapidly, before I have the galaxy j7, which was much better in these senses, the battery lasted enough more, I want to find an app similar to the smart manager of samsung, someone can help me, manager exists an app similar to the this of samsung to use it in my huawei gr5?
try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.james.SmartUninstaller i don't know if this is what you are looking for.
ok ay my mistake i didn't understand what you was asking for... i believe that smart manager is part of Cheetah Mobile all samsung devices with android 6 and up have it. A3 2016 for example have this so check this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zee.techno.apps.smart.manager.memory.ram.cleaner
Cleans Ram with unwanted files and data.
Keep your data safe and Storage optimization.
The app helps to save energy efficiently like the best battery saver 2016.
The app secures private data and also provide the app locker functionality.
Simple and friendly user interface
thats is similar, but it does not work well, does not optimize the applications

My opinion
The optimize, that apps offer on play store, is "scam" for the system.
What i mean is that they do a clear from apps that are in ram and stop the services for a while
If you have ever use clean master it has a function called hibarnate apps. what this thing do is to disable the apps so they stop running until you use them again
but this process takes a lot bc it opens one by one the apps from the app manager and click the force stop. ofcourse you see only a nice picture and the apps that it kills.
i know how it does that bc i has stuck on my phone and the "nice picture and the apps that it kills" close and reveal the app that was killing in the app manager.
Anyway if you what something like that and you don't want to wait that much , you have to root your device and then apps that offer this funcion will do the job instant. not 1 min + ..
Again thats my opinion
If anyone else who knows more please share with as your knowledge
Hi fellas.
Long story short: I seek detailed information about how LMK and especially Virtual Memory works so I can educate myself for teletubbic purposes.
Details:
I'm my old, 1gb Samsung Galaxy S3 device I suffer quite a lot because of poor ram management. Slow insufficient memory for even 1 app ooorr app transitions(multitasking), laggy apps, out of memory reboots drains my will to live.
So time to time I searched internet (especially most of the XDA forums) to find a solution for this, for months(again, time to time). In this process I learned a LOT but unfortunately its not enough since I still haven't found what some virtual memory values and related build prop entries does. Some people made guides but it's not specific and explanatory enough, unfortunately. Just some basic info from surface.
There are a lot of apps and roms that claims to provide better ram management through different ways but as you might guess, none of them completely solved my problems.
Don't get me wrong. I know that at the and, it all comes down to my 1gb device. But through my whole Android experience, I know what this device is capable of. So.. Yeah.
I want specific amounts of apps to stay in memory.
I want my system to kill apps without a second thought in out if memory situations. Fast as if I use "force stop" button in Apps/Settings. (this is important, huh)
I want to set priority to apps about using memory according to app's needs and my use frequency.
To do all of that, instead of crying in forums, I want to educate myself about ram management and do my thing by myself by optimizing system to the end.
Any help, guides, links, courses, piece of info appreciated.
Thanks in advance
