Absolutely Awful Battery Life Wiko Rainbow - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody,
I just bought this smartphone some time ago. Ive been pretty satisfied with its overall perfomance, the screen quality, the stock android it runs. Coming from a 512mb RAM device i couldnt be more satisfied regarding this smartphone pros.
However, I simply cant stand this smartphones battery life. Its absolutely awful, dropping to 50% in 2 hours with moderate use(Chatting on FB messenger, browsing the internet, listening to music). Even if i use the smartphone lightly(only chatting), the battery still drops awfully fast. I dont consider it normal at all, because my other smartphone with 1400 mAh battey lasted MUCH better, dropping only to 70/75% battery if i used it the same way I use this phone.
Seems like no matter how lightly I use this smartphone, the battery keeps dropping like i never seen. Any help there? Ive bought this phone 5 days ago, could the battery still be "asleep"? Any suggestions?
Thank you in the advance.

What does battery manager say? In settings? It could be a wakelock or something.

I cant send any images right now bcz i have less than 10 posts but battery settings doesnt show anything strange at all , where should i check for potential trouble ?

under battery or power in settings then usage
and see what is using all your juice

So I have the Cell Standby eating 31%, the Wi-Fi eating another 31%, and finally the Phone Idle eating 26%. Screen comes far behind with a 7% usage. Is it normal ?

If I flash the stock ROM provided by Wiko, could the battery life increase ? I'm thinking on it , can it solve my problem ?

Whats the latest discussion on improving Battery life? ..its impractically low

i use my phone outdoors mainly on weekends..when going out partying etc.
within 12 hours..the battery level becomes so low..that many times i was stuck on the road because i had no way to call a taxi because my phones battery was dead.
-standby time has increased a lot with updates...its good
-but the actual usage time is ridiculously low.....if i keep using WhatsApp or texting people...the phones battery drops really fast.
and if i am gaming..i usually do it with the charging cable plugged in...like a laptop.
i can never even think of watching videos or listening to music on my phone..the battery level falls visibly fast.
so have you guys found any solution?
is there a better battery out there?
is there any app?
is there any secret battery life sucking app? (i disable face recognition)
I am scared to buy a bluetooth headset..because phones battery will be dead within 5-6 hours if i use bluetooth

buy an extended battery ..sure it bulks the phone up but the lifespan of the battery is worth it if your a heavy user
read the thread here
I bought one (cameron sino 2600 mah) and I've gone from paltry 5'ish hrs a day to 30-40+ hrs at its best (dependent on usage) ..
Altho I've absolutely hammered it a couple of times testing it to its limits using bluetooth wifi and gps and more than normal brightness I still got almost 12+ hrs lol
I would say its a definite investment for me anyway
A top tip for battery saving is manually check emails or twitter etc (unless you really need it to self check) .... instead of auto notifications this will stop the phone using battery power when your not using it yourself
Also if your connection switches on the move from H/3G to G/E then it will also consume more battery
r u using se firmware or roms? i have better battery life with roms than i had with se firmware.

maybe carrying an extra battery can help you (not a charging pack, but an extra x10 fully charged battery)
the battery won't be much impresive after optimize
becuz i've optimized mine, it work the same
very bad performance
i think you should calibrate your battery as mentioned here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943626
I calibrated it yesterday and my battery life almost got doubled
I bought a second battery and an SE EP-900 charger!
Now, I am never short of battery life, without the extra bulk!

What battery life to expect ? Mine runs out pretty soon...

Hi,
What is the battery life we may expect from a Galaxy S2 ? Mine (from fully charged) lasted only 3-4 hours surfing the web using 3G, maybe including some wifi usage, however screen was dimmed down. Isn't the battery supposed to last a little longer ? The phone is new and I am on the third day now. Is there anything wrong with my device or will battery performance improve after some battery cycles ?

You can expect for more battery but you wont get until some optimization from google and samsung...

Mate 3g browsing on the sgs2 does kill that battery in 3-4 hours max.. that is actually the time scale most reviews give.. i know its a pain i hate it myself, but ull find generally using the phone ie camera, music etc gives you a longer battery. The browser rocks! but its a serious power drinker, i did discover that some sites are saying that using a 3rd party browser helps things abit e.g dolphin or opera. It has something to do wiv the gpu accelaration which enables u to do things like play 1080p videos in the stock browser and the constant smooth perfomance
oh and i found the battery does improve after a few cycles, but i think thats mainly due to the fact u tend to not be constantly playing with the phone al the time
Yep, 4 hours tops for me screen on usage.
Using Juice Defender which helps a bit..
Abouth the battery...
Earlier this evening my phone was at 28%, when i picked it back up an hour later it was 31%????
I watched the battery graph and it showed a Yellow line going upwarts slitghtly., is that strange??
Afterwards i saw green going down and than up again. I will post a pic of it.
Seriously, there are 5+ battery threads already, what is so specific about your case you felt the need to start a completely new discussion on it????
Fully charged this morning, moderate use throughout the day, on 52% now after 16 hours. I'm happy with that.

Battery now at 66%, after 20 hours and 6 minutes. Android OS running at 32% and it my largest process.
2% drop in battery over 4 hours with Android OS running at 32%... android OS bug my arse...
I wonder what would happen if people actually used their phones for talking.
I pre ordered this and waiting shipment. I can compare with the atrix i had, that the battery life was not to shabby but it had a 1900mah battery.
You can't expect amazing battery life with this phone
4.3inch screen
AMOLED+
1.2ghz CPU.
if they made the phone a bit thicker a tiny bit they could of put a bigger battery in there but samsung wants to compete with apple on thinest phones.

And it's more expensive so it's all about how much profit they want make and what price it's going to sell at.
well after the ke7 fw update my battery life seems to have improved
Doesn't sip too much when it's idle but mine tops out at 3.5h with screen on
Stock KE7, not rooted.
Must say this is the only dark spot in otherwise excellent phone.
Well still haven't got one and that doesn't discourage me at all

Honor 5x have very low battery ?

Hello,
Yo begin i'm not english sorry for my so many mistake .
There are 4 days, I had my new phone , a 5x honor , replacing my Lumia 1320 .
And since these 4 days I noticed that the battery will discharge extremely fast. I already did a factory reset but its same.
On the picture, you can see, just 7 hours with a normal use(5min after I lost 2% more), my phone has been out.
http ://puu.sh/psKhh/64c1866b33.png (delete the space, i dont know other way to add à picture )
So I want ask you if, with your Honor 5x it's same or if it's the mine that have a problem.
Thanks

Hello Asséo, sorry to hear about the issue you are having with your 5X, one thing I would recommend is to go to the Phone Manager App provided on your 5X. You can click on the Phone accelerator to first make sure your phone is operating at the optimal functionality. I would then go to the Storage Cleaner to ensure you do not have any unnecessary data which could be contributing to your slow down. As well, I would go into the Power Saving section once you've optimized your phone to see which power plan would work best for your needs. Hopefully these steps help you maximize your battery.
I would also recommend looking at the power details to see if your phone is always awake.
In my case, for one wifi network, the phone will always be awake when it is connected to wifi, causing the battery to be drained. After turning off wifi and turning on mobile data, I can get about 2.5 days of use.
I start of principe that i have a Smartphone, i don't have Nokia 3310. If my network is disable, i can't use whatapp for exemple then I use WhatsApp everytime. I have just Whatapp on background otherwise i don't have notification.
On Power Saving section, i am on Smart mode, i don't use the Ultra mode because i can't do this.
For exemple this morning I stay 10minutes on Word I lost 2%, I stay 15minutes on Facebook I lost 6%. When I listen music i lost 10% hourly.
The screen eat the battery extremely fast., i see the History information for the battery. On 4h30, i lost 70% of battery i listened music on YouTube, so Wifi+music+screen activate
That is normal ?
Sorry but i switch to a Lumia to a Honor, so W10M to Android. With my Lumia, i would stay 2 days with wifi and data enable, with Facebook/whatapp etc... so for me, a battery like this it's not normal even if it's normal for android user
Thanks you for your answers

Hello Asséo,
We're terribly sorry to hear that you're displeased with your battery life in your Honor 5X. We like to remind you that battery life may vary depending on use. If you're a average to heavy user, it's not uncommon for the 5X to last 7 hours. What we recommend to save some battery life is shutting off your GPS and WiFi when it's not in use as that will impact it heavily. (ED)

What he said, also you can unlock bootloader and install custom rom, then you will have root access and you will be able to underclock cpu too. when it is not running at full speed, that will also reduce battery drain.
Root it and do some CPU tweak i Did it aswell. Because it keeps at 800mhz when screen is off and listening music. I can get about 9-13 hours max im an average user.. Also i recommend to buy a 5v 2-3a charger. Keep in mind that this is a Great battery life for an Android device. Lumia is totally different
I suggest you try cm13, two days ago I got 5 hours and 43 mins screen time and i had 24 percent left (best one yet), I normally end with 6 hours of screen time at 5% at the end of the night/early into the morning.
If you have rooted your device set this in the build. Prop debug.cpurend.vsync=fase to True. It saves alot of battery but you wont notice Performance lose
^ +1 on that, biggest issue with huawei is poor software (simple sloppy mistakes) & incredibly slow & poor updates.
Camera needs a huge update as the focusing/image sharpness is well off, hopefully software rather hardware ! plenty other areas need optimising, copying apple not always a good thing lol, sometimes you really need do the work to make a better interface & some small changes & more options for ui would attract more users .
It needs polishing & needs doing quickly as customers dissatisfied now unlikely return even if things become perfect .

why is the battery life so poor?

I got an LG G5 2 weeks ago and the battery has been outrageously bad. I bought it used and the owned has owned it for 2 to 3 months. There is very little standby drain and the phone is cold to the touch within minutes. Overnight drain is around 10 to 12 percent with always on display which is normal considering the 1 percent per hour loss plus the normal overnight drain. However when I turn the screen on the screen on time is very poor only about 2.5 hrs to 3 hours. The screen brightness is set 20 to 40 percent no auto brightness. There appears to be nothing draining the battery with the screen being the biggest battery draining. I have location nfc Bluetooth and LTE turned off. Along with touch sounds and touch vibration but toggling these settings makes no difference. Its impossible to find out more because I have no root. If this battery continues to be this poor I'm going to be selling it because I cannot stand having to charge twice a day even with quickcharge 3.0 old xiaomi redmi note 3 lasted 2 to 3 times longer on the battery. Any ideas what could be eating my battery?
Hi
I get 4 to 5 hours screen on time and I use my brightness at 75% to 100%, never as low as 20-40% it's too dark.
What apps do you use when you do have the screen on? Maps and games will drop you to 2-3 hours screen on time like all phones, but normal apps (excluding snapchat) will give you 4-5 SOT.
I would turn off always on display, you won't miss it.
Eeeeh , your Android system and android Os are high , screen should consumpt most of the battery about 30-40% mine does 34% with 35% brightness and Phone idle 22% my android system at 9% android Os 6% , if you dont game you get nearly 1 day life from your battery but if you do you need 2-3 timers charging per day , also if you use Data it just sucks the battery like vacum. So there is a drain in your system but its true lg g5 consumps a lot in order to give you performance in priority and not power saving. Dont forget G5s are the only high range phone that you can swip your battery with no deal , they are giving you that feature , Use it!!! You can grab up to 3600mah (2800 stock) extended capacity battery with a wall charger from ebay really cheap and never again have a battery problem. Also this batterys are lithium ones , i saw in your pic 10% i suggest not to go below 20% you are killing really fast lithium batterys if you decharge them!!!

Always on display barely drains any battery. I use apps such as facebook, text messaging, messenger, instagram, chrome, etc. I rarely play games because the second I open a game the battery life is only about 1.5 hours sot.
Well Facebook and messenger should be a couple of alarm bells when talking about battery life surely? Also, you bought it second hand, you have no idea how the previous owner treated the battery in the time they had it no matter how short a period it was.

Hello friends
I have a problem with battery and also unable to turn on the WiFi after update.
I just bought my brand new G5 H860 TWN and updated it, which cause the whole device to malfunction.
please correct me if I'm mistaken. An update is meant to improve the functionality of a device not to destroy it.
Apart from this problem the interesting thing is that non of the LG customer cares know whats causing the problem,
A word of advice to LG. Please Do not make something that you don't know **** about.

have nice day.

Thanks for your advise my friend, factory resetting the device was the first thing i did, but i did not solve the issue.
i have tried the following:
-Flash other ROMs from different countries for H860
-booted the device into safe mode and tried to enable the WiFi and etc.
my WiFi MAC is set to 02:00:00:00:00:00 and it means that WiFi has not been detected by android. Also the Bluetooth address is defined as "unavailable".
and the worst of all is its battery drain issue which kill my battery within 5 hours in standby mode, while i can not notice any abnormal battery consumption in "BATTERY USE DETAILS" section in Battery usage setting. this probably means that some other consumer(perhaps the WiFi) uses the battery without being listed.

H860? H860 haven't got root nor custom ROM yet. Bootloader of H860's still locked.
I've got a brand new LG G5 which I have been using since Thursday and I honestly can say it sucks big time compared to my 2 year old Z3 which can easily get me 4 hrs SoD on mixed usage. Using the exact same set up of apps, location and wifi/mobile use, I am struggling to see more than 2.5hrs SoD with the G5. Honestly, it just drains battery like no tomorrow and this is fresh battery... I dread to think what it will be like in 2 years. Sony made a lot of mistakes but the Z3 really excelled...

Question Xiaomi Mi 11 lite 5g Battery life ?

Hello.. Can someone who knows about battery draining give some help? I ve got this phone a week or so and I think the battery drains kinda fast. I'm not sure. I used to have Xiaomi Note 9s with a super battery. I m uploading a few screenshots . Is it drains fast?? Or all looks normal? Thanks in advance
That is normal battery life for this phone. In fact it looks pretty good.
Thanks for your reply
On my phone there is always Android System consuming a lot of battery, almost like Screen. I don't know if that's normal. On a REDMI 9 of a friend Android System is almost consuming nothing
@Primal.pr28 the cpu behaviour is setup to react to user action, rather than anticipate user action. If reacting to user actions is priority, then you want to react to the user action as quickly as possible (phone = smooth). This is not efficient. It means that even the smallest actions may require processing speeds greater than necessary. With better optimization you could get at least 25% more usage of your device at no cost of performance. Consider switching battery saver mode on by default forever as well, don't think you lose much performance.
Yesterday I used phone literally from 100-0%, and I noticed strange thing, the reading that it reported as consumed power by the screen was ~48% but it says something like 1300mAh. So obviously totally incorrect. If the battery is 4250mAh, then half of it should be around 2100mAh, not 1300.

It's not percent of the battery capacity that is displayed. It's percent of all things like hardware & software usage put together including system and apps.

Do you use your phone for more than 24h?? Xiaomi is showing only last 24h battery stats.
I'm having the same problem, 12.5.5.0, I heard 12.0.8.0 is more battery friendly?
Same here, insanely bad battery life with 12.5.5, dont understand why, android system is using more than 25%.

18% overnight !
12.5.5 is same as 12.5.3, most resources are consumed by screen, sometimes buggy Google app "Carrier services". Around 10% overnight battery consumption, phone lasts about 45-50 hours (light use, web browsing, work profile, emails, Whatsapp, constant synchronization of private and work apps on).
