there is a (easy) way to use external SD as internal SD on CM12 ? Because i haven't internal partition and I know that CM12 could see my SD in Ext4 format . Could i tweak it to use my sd card instead ?

Don't think there is a way to do this anymore. There were methods for CM10 and CM11, but I think 12 changed too many things. Typically it is best to keep the important stuff on internal and link big apps and data to the external via Links2SD or FolderMount. I found this too http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-disablesignaturecheck-t2789267 but others were mentioning it running well on stock roms, but not CM12 roms due to different coding and APIs. Your luck may vary. I don't use SD cards anymore so can't do anything to help test, and it often varies by device as well.

i have done alot of nonsense to my tablet, but for some reason i don't think my tablet is recognizing my internal sd card as memory. I tried downloading a file from a website and it said that i needed an sd card to download the file...this never happened to me before recently. I remember the tablet recognizing the 16 gigs of internal memory as essentially an sd card on the system. I think it now recognizes it as maybe internal memory and needs to show it as an sd... i don't know for sure... is there anything i missed. do i need to partition something? i just flashed cyanogen 7.0.3..
so it happened just after flashing, or already before? in cm in a file manager do you see sdcard?
Dunno about thekafka, but I have just flashed the same version of cyanogen to my G-tab, and am now experiencing the same issue. This did not start until after the installation. File Manager and CWM do find the SD card.
Is there an optimal partitioning scheme to use when flashing this ROM?
In CM-7.0.x, the internal SD card is mounted at /mnt/emmc and the external SD card, if one is attached, will be mounted at /mnt/sdcard. They're not trying to make things difficult for new users--it's just what's sensible for the wide range of devices that CM runs on: internal SD cards at /mnt/emmc and removable SD cards at /mnt/sdcard, whether on phones (remember, most phones don't have internal SD cards) or tablets.
If you're coming from another ROM where the internal SD is at /sdcard (or /mnt/sdcard) and the external is at /mnt/sdcard2, you, and some of the applications that you use, might get confused.
It's easy enough to switch the mount points so that internal SD is at /mnt/sdcard and the external will be mounted under /mnt/emmc. There is even a CWM-installable zip file floating around to do this easily. Search around here or at the cyanogenmod gtabet forum.

I have a 32GB internal but a class 2 16 external so this is my only option.
will it shoten battery life or general phone's memory/ productivity life?

If you want to have a swap file (swap.swp) this could possibly corrupt your fat partition. This is based on my own personal experience of course. I recommend use a swap partition honestly.
Just imagine mounting your sdcard to your computer to transfer files while your phone is still attempting to write to /sdcard/swap.swp. This can theoritically cause problems. And you don't want problems on your sdcard. A seperate partition is the safest way to go. But again... just my opinion.
NB: This mod will only work if the kernel you use has swap support built in !
Note that if you are using a rom based on Cyanogen's kernel it is NOT recommended to use swap at all. It will slow down your phone causing more problems than what it's worth. ('Swap grave' is how he put it.)

What is the easiest way to expand the usable memory for apps on an Android KitKat phone which is rooted? I have seen many apps and solutions to this. Link2SD looks to be the simplest. I want to enable the device to use the external SD card to store apps and data to. The phone I have, LG L70 D321 has 2GB of phone storage and 2GB of internal RAM (ridiculous). I have a 16GB external SD card which I want to load the apps onto since the other space is already exhausted.
The solution should be transparent to the end user, meaning that when they install a new app, it simply gets installed to the SD card without having to do anything extra like assigning paths or anything.

There are a few apps that will install them on sd cards but be warned it will hurt performance and may cause issues. Also no widgets for anything on sd card.
So i have this little question. If i install my sd card as internal storage can i then still flash custom roms? I was thinking maybe the sd card will think my phone is a different one if i install a custom rom?

I'm currently using my SD card as adopted storage in CM13 and TWRP is able to see files on the SD card just fine.
However, after flashing the ROM, I'm not sure if Android will pick up that the card is adopted storage and just pull in the apps, or if it will make you format the SD card. I would think that the latter would only apply after a wipe of /data, but hopefully someone can chime in with actual experience on the matter.
So I bought a used Moto E 1st Gen to use while my Nexus 5X is being repaired, but I've found it to be almost unusable, thanks to its limited internal storage. It can't even update all the built in apps without running out of room, and none of them are transferable to my 32GB micro SD card! Installing new apps is very difficult, and sometimes impossible.
I think that part of the trouble is that it's running Android 5.1, which I believe significantly impaired the ability to make use of the external memory (right?).
I was hoping to use this phone temporarily as a backup device, and as such, I really just wanted it pure and simple and easy. The phone seems fine and the battery life is great, but I can't put all my apps on it.
So what's the most pragmatic way of dealing with this problem? Can I flash an older, stock ROM without having to unlock the bootloader? If I unlock it and flash a custom ROM, won't the later ones suffer this problem too? Would I be best using an older ROM from the days before Lollipop when external memory was easier to take advantage of?

See friend, if you don't want to unlock your bootloader then you must flash the stock KitKat ROM as you can use your memory card to move the apps. But you can only move the apps which can be moved to external and if you have apps which can't be moved to external, you may run out of storage.
If you unlock your bootloader and flash Custom ROM which is MM or higher then you can use your memory card as adoptable storage. Using Sd Card as adopted storage would not let you run out of storage and is future proof as heavy apps moves automatically into adopted storage

Thank you, I hadn't heard of the adopted storage thing, because there's no SD card slot in the Nexus. It's exactly what I needed. I've installed the latest Lineage nightly and its working wonderfully, so far.

To make adoptable storage insert a card into your phone running MM or higher it will ask you if you want to use the SD card as a portable device or Internal. By selecting ‘Internal’ you are now moving to the new Adoptable Storage function and the SD card will be formatted. Make sure you backup your data on card and you must use a high speed(class 10) memory card.
