Gear manager update broke Gear connection - Samsung Gear S

Hi,
After the last update for Gear Manager (october 3, 2015 for me) my Gear S do not connect on my S4. Just previous day all is right. All broken after update. Same for my Gear 2 and my Gear 1. Trying to reset the Gear 2 but same issue.
Trying restoring previous backup and when launched the manager download automatically an update and after Samsung Manager app delete all my phone app with a Gear part. So delete :
- Wrist List (shopping list for phone and a part on Gear)
- Todo Gear
- Any list
- My Notes in Gear
- Gear notes
- GearTask
Counter for Gear
Samsung uninstalled all this app from my phone. So no watch and lost also android phone app, totally incredible, thank you Samsung.
Any one with issue after update ?

Same with me. My note 4 got ota 5.1.1 and update latest gear manager. Now it wont connect to my gear s.

been a week not works, remains only 51 weeks to wait

With Nexus 5, I uncheck auto update from Play Store, uninstall app from Titanium Backup then install old version and it works.
With Note 3 no problem (but Note 3 is simlock :/)

Gear Manager is not a PlayStore app
but even after a restore of an old app it not works again.
On "Galaxy Apps" I have the "Auto Update" unchecked but even with this when youn launc Gear Manager it start an update automatically.

You have a Samsung mobile, on other devices you can see it on PlayStore.

Gear S and also Gear 1&2 are only compatible with some (not all) Samsung device

Sadly I have the same issue after a forced update of gear manager app. Note 4 doesn't connect anymore to my gear S... I tried to un install the app from phone but it's not working. I made a wipe cache partition via recovery it's not working too...
Anybody is having the same issue than us ?
Help would be appreciated

Nothing new. I tried to uninstall all samsung modules and reinstall all from Galaxy Apps Store, factory reset my Gear 2, launch manager, it found and pair the Gear 2 but when it start the manager connection it was unable to connect the Gear, it stuck on "Connect...." screen......
Incredible that Samsung phone can not connect to Samsung watch
We must wait maybe one year before Samsung correct this issue, but probably not have a Samsung phone or watch in 1 year

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? I'm currently experiencing this issue as well.

Simplest best answer, sell all your samsung stuff (phone too) and get a LG (phone) and Urbane 2.
Problem solved no more Shady Shenanigans from Samsung breaking their sh!t just in time for the release of the S2 and trying to force users into a unwanted upgrade.
Forget this having to wait 51 weeks for them to fix a problem they caused and created, as big of a company as they are they should fix it immediately, but they DGAF about it or the customers.
More power to LG!

Samsung's now used planned obsolescence card.
I can't believe I used to think so highly of this lowly company and recommend them to everyone who asked.

[Q] Gear S doesent let me install app and says its allready installed

Hey Guys
I changed my phone from Note 3 to Note 4 latly - and restored some of my apps via Titatnium- also some gear stuff.
Now i have the odd problem- that i cannot install some apps on my gear s because the gear manager states them as allready installed- but they are not on my gear !!
I guess i have restored some system files or something that makes my gear s think that this apps are allready installed- but if i go in gear manager under settings-installed apps. They are not there- so i cannot uninstall them- so im in a kind of a trap.
Can you guys help to sort that out ?
Thank you
I have same problem but with 2 Gear on my Phone. I have first the Gear 2, I installed many app. After I paired a Gear S with the phone/Manager. When I want to install an app wich is on Gear 2 the store say is yet installed. If I want install on Gear S I must connect my Gear 2 and uninstall the app.
So if you have not 2 Gear try to uninstall the Gear Manager and reinit your Gear ?
Great ! No i don´t have 2 Gears- i will try your solution and hope it works
Unforunatly it didn´t it still says wearable widgets is installed . Strangly Gear Navigator not anymore- but it offers me to buy it again- even tough i allready have bought it. Very strange.

Gear manager & Note 4 Verizon

I have an unlocked Gear S and it paired to my Note 4 flawlessly. The issue I am having is that when I click the link for Samsung Gear Apps (from the Gear Manager) it take me to Galaxy Essentials not Gear Essentials. When I search Gear apps nothing pops up. I can't find a way to get any additional apps. Help!
Have you tried reinstalling the Galaxy appstore?

Thanks for the reply. I tried that with no luck. The interesting part is that I paired the watch with my wife's S5 and it went straight to the gear app store (from the gear manager) with no issues. I am not sure what to do now.
After a very frustrating day trying everything I can think of and 4 Samsung techs (who couldn't figure it out either) I did what everyone hates to do....a factory reset. But that resolved the issue.

Gear S Apps Stuck on Installing

I have a Gear S SM-R750A and when I try to install apps from the Gear Manager App Store they stick on Installing. I can use the Galaxy App Store to download normal apps to my Note 4 without issues just not to the Gear S. I am currently running Software Version R750AUCU1AOB1 and running 5.1.1 on the Note 4. Please let me know if anyone has found a fix to this issue. I have tried resetting my Gear S and reinstalling the Gear Manager as well.
I'm running stock rom on note 4 and I have this happen from time to time as well. Haven't found a fix other than canceling the installation and waiting a while to try again.

I have the same issue with my stock Note 3 and Gear s. Sammy has been no help. I have reset my phone and watch but that didn't help. I stay stuck on installing. Canceling doesn't help. Frustrated as hell. I won't buy another Gear x until they fix this. Don't get me started talking about Tizen. Not a fan.
Hi this happened to me. I did a restart of the phone and gear s and that fixed the problem.
I've tried restarting and reinstalling my watch to my phone several times. No luck. I am running stock everything with the most current firmware updates. No luck. Not rooted. My watch worked before I reset my phone using Kies and that's when everything stopped working. I can't even run opera mini. My watch gets stuck on installing. The phone says it downloads then goes to installing. ..forever. When Igo to my app manager, the apps I installed are not there. Btw, I have a note 3 along with my gear s.
Fixed
I finally fixed this problem. I did a total reset of my phone TMO Note 3 and my Gear S. I backed up my files on my computer, not using Kies. Reboot and reinstall all my apps, check for problems after every 3 apps. Works. I'd like to send a shot out to Samsung for their assistance. However, anything I shouted would need to be edited for expletives. Uncle Sammy was no help. Tizen still sucks. The app store is crap.... unless you want a watch face.

SOLVED: Samsung Gear S will not download apps through Samsung Gear Manager on Galaxy

OK, this only took me all night to solve, and since I couldn't find anything in all of the Samsung and other Android help forums, I thought I'd put this here, just in case it might help someone else.
Just got a refurb Samsung Gear S, which I like quite a lot. Have a Samsung Galaxy 3 phone, so I figured I was set. I downloaded Samsung Gear Manager App from the Play Store. It recognized my Gear S, set up the preinstalled apps, and I thought all was good. Tried to download the tizen endomoto running app through the Gear S, and it says I have to do it through the Samsung Gear Manager.
Fine, go open it up, and touch the "download galaxy apps" button, and it flashes, and does nothing. I can update the smart watch software, communicate to the phone, etc - but the "download" button just flashes at me. Tried everything - reset the Gear S, re-paired, nada. Set the Galaxy 3 back to factory settings, reinstalled Samsung Gear Manager, same problem.
Turns out you have to install the Samsung Galaxy App store. You'd think this would happen automatically on a Samsung phone, but no. And of course, if you go to the Google Play Store, there is no Samsung Galaxy App store to install (except in Spanish, go figure). Since I don't read enough spanish to understand that this would work, I uninstalled it. But Samsung does put out apk's to install the Samsung Galaxy App store in English. You just have to find them. In this case, they are here:
Well, ****, XDA won't let me put in a URL because I'm a newbie. So do a Google search on "install samsung app store apk" and the top hit should be to apkmirror.com. You'll find it there.
Installed this (which also installs Samsung push and a few other things), and tada! you can donwload through the Samsung Gear Manager.
That was 12 hours of my life I won't get back - I hope this save you all some of yours.
BTW, really like the watch.
you rock

Gear S + Pixel XL

Reposting this in a separate new thread after also posting in the sticky tutorial for others searching on google how to get the Pixel to work with the Gear S.
"I have a Pixel XL and tried to use the above steps to connect my Gear S to the phone.
When I try to install "Samsung Gear_com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager_2.2.14100299_2114100299" the phone says it is corrupt and cannot be installed.
When the gear manager is launched, it cannot find the watch at all. But using the regular bluetooth connection method from androids bluetooth settings does allow me to connect it to the phone. But manager still does not detect/activate the watch...
Please help! I have gotten way too used to the watch to get along without it..."
I was able to download and install gear manager from play store without any issues. Still doesn't connect to my gear s though. Says it can't find, even when I reset the watch. I need help to. Don't want to return my pixel, but love my gear s

The Gear Manager which you downloaded from Play Store does not connect to Gear S. It only works with Gear S2. This has been confirmed by Samsung that Gear S can only connect to a Samsung phone. Currently I'm using a spare Galaxy Note 3 to synchronise with Gear S for S Health tracking.

Tested on my xperia Z5C and not see also works with my Fit2. So we must wait for an update ....
I am going through the same issue, and after spending eternity with high level techs on the phone and in person at a Samsung store, I found that the answer lies in the Gear S. The last firmware update for the watch was early this year, and the watch itself cannot communicate with Nougat. Even though Gear Manager will communicate with Nougat. Right now we are at the mercy of Samsung to update the Firmware for a 3 year old device, that has been replaced by 2 generations...
