Headphones volume boost. - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

Hi.
Maybe someone have solution for volume boost without root?

I need this to. Please, if there's someone? I tried changing the values in system/etc/mixer_paths.xml and change the permissions but it did no difference to sound output (headphones).
This would be much appreciated. Thanks!

launch sony's music app and go to the settings...
you will see that clear audio is on ..
close it and then enter the equalizer and add bass tremble and etc.

I don't think that I can access mixer_path.xml in the first place if I'm not rooted.

I think its in root/etc default_gain.conf .... well i guess you know what to do from here forward

Has anyone had any luck increasing the volume rooted or non-rooted? I am new to editing the mixer paths, what should I be looking for?

You can use Viper4Android there are some boost opions wchich really works

Low sound in call

Hello,
first of all, sorry for my bad english, please be patient.
I´m newbie with Xperia X10i i noticed that the sound of ear speaker are very low, and sometime i don´t hear the person who i´m speaking, specially when im on the street. If i compare with other phones Xperia sounds very very low.
Is there any fix now with root access?
Best regards.
Everyone more or less experiencing the same.. don't think there's really a fix at mo.. Might have to wait for se 2.1 upgrade or a custom rom for any luck..

Low call in volume
sound of ear speaker are very low please do something about it
Can you access any of the hidden menus with a rooted phone?
eg. *#*#4636#*#* , I saw a list of about 20 similar codes one of which let you tinker with the headphone output.
Louder Volume Hack
i think this app can make the in call volume louder im going to try it its for rooted phones only. The app will need extra files according to the maker of the app to make it happen by improving the call volume

Which app is this?
I have heard that with other phones (perhaps the Evo 4G?) that once the bootloader is cracked, the devs can increase the speaker volume...

This does not let you tinker with the output of anything, or even change any settings. All these menus do is let you test parts of the phone.

I know the 4636 code doesn't let you edit anything, there are other codes that work on other android phones which do let you increase the earphone output.

[Q] DSP Manager why?

Why does almost every rom include this app? I dont see what is so great about it. To me it is just taking up RAM.
Am I missing something?
You can just remove it if you don't want it. To my knowledge, it is an equalizer for your phones speaker and earpiece. You can change it to how you want..but if you don't want it, just remove it. No need to get all feisty ;p

If used correctly you can dramatically improve sound quality with speaker headsets and bluetooth
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Increases functionality and customization of your sound output on your phone's 4 different output methods (earpiece, speaker, BT, and headphone jack I believe as well)
Every time I opened it it would force close, so I removed it.

because there's a serious low volume issue on the 3D
we need everything possible to try to make the sound louder
I like the EQ, it comes in handy with apps like tune in and other apps where a little sound boost is needed.

If you already have an equalizer or other volume increasing app, it will conflict with dsp manager and vice versa. You can only have one. If you don't have anything conflicting with it like that and want to try it, maybe someone can help you get the apk to install manually. It really does make things sound great. Though I liked Equalizer from the market better.

Thanks. I'll have to look around and see what else is on my phone. I already have an apk of it, I just didn't want to install it again and have the same issues.

[Q] Volume hack

I am using my rooted XS with Marshall Minors and found the volume to be low unless I increase via EQ which then distorts the sound. Is there any hack to increase the volume like Alsamixer? or any app that will unleash the power of audio volume?
Thanks
you tried xLoud on settings? this phone is really loud for me..

I did, the main issue is I use audiobook player which is quiter and with max volume is still not great. I need to use this for my studies. The xloud has no effect on this. Previously with Galaxy Nexus I used alsamixer which was great in unlocking the volume but it doesn't work on XS.
i dont know but i used to use the audioboost it was work before with x10 but i find xperia s to work really loud i have half way income-call volume and it work perfectly fine for me !!!
seems to me that i got my ears too sensitive !
It may not be ideal but you could just batch reincode your audiobooks at 150% Volume(Gain).

Thanks mate. They are actually mp3 files do you recommend easy to use free app?
I tried few but they do not do straightforward volume gain.

Audacity will do it. You need to get LAME separate for MP3s(Legal thing). To do a single file open the mp3, slide the -...+ slider on the left of the track to the right, then export the MP3 to a new file. Done.
Not sure about batch processing with it, I've only ever done such things with images, but google is your friend on that one.

How to set the audio level increase when i plug audio jack (without root) ?

Only with the look? Very easy question!!!
here's the solution
1. do you have a i9300 or i9100?
2. this is not where questions go, hit "report" and ask for it to be moved.
It is a safe function. It is for not damage your ears. If you listen the audio with the original earphones or a similiar earphones, there isn't be a problem, if you use a bigger earphones. You could listen the audio more low because, those bigger earphones needs more power. I don't know if I explain me.
Boeffla sound tweaks .

I have a i9100 rooted. And i use voodoo.louder apk.
For the.i9300 (used for my job) it's cant be rooted and i'm looking for how i can change the setup of the phone.
I know that make a protection. but i want to change it.
I'm going to ask for change this post sections.
Thanks
Try this:

There are some options for rooted users but the app does not need root to work.
Works on speaker, headset and bluetooth. It gives you an option of a simple EQ or a
very easy volume boost and allows you to set how much amplification you want.
I am using it right now in my I9300 with custom rom so it should work for you. It is not
however compatible with most other sound mods such as Acid which you should not have
anyway since you are not rooted.
You could try this. Lets you specify media volume when something is inserted into the jack

Thanks galactus it is ok.
I solved myproblem.

[MAGISK] Working (stock) EMUI sound-mod

Install "Ainur JamesDSP v1.7" Magisk module and choose the HQ 64bit driver
Install "Audio Modification Library v.1.8.1" Magisk module
Reboot
Configure JamesDSP app
Confirmed working (speakers & headphones (can't test bluetooth)) on my FIG-LX1 (L31) - EMUI 8.0.0.148(C432) - Magisk v17.1
Edit: If you don't want ringtones/notification-sounds to be processed, switch DSP registration from global to conventional. (3dot menu - top right, screenshot added)
Huge thanks to natanrosenfeld (he made a YT video, explaining a fix for previous version (now fixed with v1.7)) - and especially the JamesDSP dev team!
Great news I seen it on .android-hilfe.de myself
Messing around and cant seem to get it right, either too loud or doesnt work
Viper4android was much easier to setup, using Huawei DTS.irs or srs_2_1.irs then not much else and worked great

Have you tried using the same impulse response files with JamesDSP?
Copy the .irs (or .wav, .flac) to /storage/emulated/0/JamesDSP/Convolver and enable Convolver in JamesDSP.
Works great here.

Even if we'd share the exact same setup (e.g. settings/IR xy sound great with my Shure SE425 in-ear headphones, but not so great with my AKG Q701) and preference of music, it would still be incredibly subjective and mainly based on taste. Certified sound-engineers would probably disagree, I guess
My suggestion is: leave every (other) option off, download a pack of different IRs (e.g. https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/collection-convolver-samples-389-t3140299) and try each one out. If you found one you like, (slightly) tune it with the EQ. At least that's my "non-pro" approach.
Mostly all I want is to make the phone louder, well the phone speaker, on Bluetooth speakers etc it's fairly OK
Next issue is echo sound on ringtone and notification
I'll try IRS out and maybe someday have Viper4android
It's a system-wide audio-mod, so yes, if you have e.g. Virtual Room Effect turned on or use a noticably "reverberating" impulse response file, you'll experience echo on ringtones/notification-sounds too.
I've managed to make the speakers slightly louder by choosing the highest IR Volume Level (30dB), but I think the device's speaker volume level/overall sound-quality is just physically limited. They are not the "best" speakers after all.

I noticed the room effect and turned it off, but just using Irs or some of them and seemed to be an echo,
Speaker is good enough, it is only a phone after all, there are small bluetooth speakers now that have great volume to help
A nice guy from the Telegram channel pointed out, that you can avoid processing system sounds (ringtones/notification) by switching DSP registration mode from global to conventional (screenshot added to OP).
YEEEES!!!! This mod is also working on Huawei P20Pro with EMUI8.1.. I just follow the same steps above. Thanks a lot man!

Sorry - I'm not an expert, so don't take my word for it - but I don't think that's possible, since all these files are stored in locations, where (non root) users don't have write permissions. Even with a rooted and/or custom recovery device, I don't think it's possible to alter app-specific volumes by just changing mixer_paths.xml values.

Sorry I know I mentioned whats app but really I just mean overall volume. With my moto g5 I was able to edit mixer path values which led to louder everything. But that was only with root as I'm new to adb. Thanks for your response

In case your bootloader is unlocked, iirc you could theoretically fastboot flash TWRP - and use TWRP's "privileged" terminal (e.g. (mount /system), adb pull/push and edit the file(s)), and then (re)flash stock recovery again - without actually rooting the device.
Again, I'm not an expert (also didn't try it myself) and can't guarantee above mentioned procedure works, despite my inner-Sherlock-Holmes tells me, your bootloader is actually not unlocked.
