So I work as an Android developer for a major carrier and I've rooted 100's of devices 1000's of times and this is the first time I have ever come across this type of problem.
My roommate bought a new Sprint Gs6 and wanted the bloatware removed so I found this page for an Odin .tar
/how-to-root-galaxy-s6-on-android-5-1-1-all-variants/
I performed all the steps, and after the device restarted, I had root access but the screen was unresponsive (confirmed by 'adb shell su').
So here is the issue, I have had weird things happen before after changing the recovery. Usually to fix it, I wipe the dalvik and factory reset. So I did that and I still have no luck.
So now I have an unresponsive phone that is stuck on the startup screen without adb access : /
So what can I do to fix this? All the buttons seem to work (volume/home/power), but I cant touch the screen at all.
Also, why would installing a recovery stop the touch screen application?
Thank you for any and all help

Hey
So this old i9000 phone came with some Horrible bloatware I wanted to get rid of.
I flashed a stock Rom with Odin, (I've done it many times before on a different i9000)and Wiped Data and Cache afterwards, And 3 different Roms give me this problem:
When the phone finally initializes, Everything keeps Stopping unexpectedly. I've tried to get to enabling ADB to maybe view the logcat but I can't even get to the settings.
I did notice in the recovery mod an error that said something about System/CSC/CEL/system not being accesible (And i'm surprised it's still there after 3 flashes, CEL being the CSC for the bloatware company)
What do I do?
Currently on Stock rom with stock recovery.
Edit:
Okay, I have managed to race through the crashes, Launch the Home app, and enable ADB... so we have that now... "ADB devices" Shows its connected.
Edit2:
They all crash with "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:" Right now Home screen is working but anything i try to run crashes
Edit3: It's like the old Gmail account is HARD CODED to it, What the hell? 3 rom flashes and countless factory reset, The account is still there, I cannot get rid of it.
Hi guys, recently my S3 started to play up on me. The screen started to flicker and would only stop when I touched (and held) the screen. From then, things have gone from bad to worse and the phone now features a completely black screen after it is powered on. Therefore I cannot see the startup animation or anything else (including the home screen etc) but can hear the notifications and vibrations.
I can fortunately use CWM as this is not effected at all and the screen works perfectly fine. I have flashed 3 different roms and wiped my whole device since the problem started hoping it was a software problem.
I have additionaly tried:
- Clear the Dalvick Cache
- Clear cache
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe all SD card data (don't ask)
Hopefully someone can help I would really appreciated it. (Not enjoying using the old Symbian phone atm) :crying:
Thanks
Make sure you are flashing roms meant for your version of the device.Try changing kernel or flash the latest stock firmware available after a factory reset. This should replace every file on your phone. Any problem would be fixed by this. Secondly what CWM do you use? Is it touch? If so does the touch work? Not likely a panel issue if the display is working in CWM, Can be a digitizer issue causing the screen to act up.
Hi everybody, I have a problem and I don't know what to do, so I'm hoping I can get some help with this.
I bought a used cheap tablet off ebay a few months ago. It looked new and came with everything, but its always had software issues. It would be working fine then it would get infinite errors saying various android processes have stopped, it would automatically close apps when I tried to run them, and would prevent me from even changing the settings. This was a frequent problem which I solved by doing a factory reset. This was practically an everyday occurrence until I learned to clear the cache several times a day, which gave me probably around 5 to 7 days before I would have to reset it.
Well, the other day my tablet froze up and wasn't responding. I left it for a long time with no change. I turned it off and rebooted and was greeted by the infinite error problem. I turned it off and cleared the cache from the recovery menu. I tried to boot the tablet and it got stuck at the shiny android logo and won't go past that point. It won't boot into safe mode either.
I tried to do a factory reset like I've done countless times. As soon as I tell it to do the factory reset it says...
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
and.. it does nothing. It never finishes or gets past this point. Not knowing what to do I've turned it off and tried again, I've tried rebooting it but it still won't go past the android logo. I've tried just letting it sit while supposedly "formatting" but that didn't do any good either. Has anyone else encountered this problem before?
I've been trying to figure out how to fix it as I'm broke and can't just go buy another tablet. I'm assuming my only option at this point is to flash a rom, but does it need to be rooted in order to do that? Can I even flash a rom when the tablet won't even do a factory reset and format the data?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I ordered my Kyocera Hydro Icon from Freedompop and got it yesterday. I tried Root Genius, which seemed to work (by which I mean it asks me if I want to give root access to apps that need it, but does not allow user of the "su" command in Terminal Emulator). I then used a root app uninstaller and uninstalled a couple very harmless seeming things that the app said was safe to remove. Various forums said safe to remove. However, after doing that I'm now on a boot loop.
I did a factory reset from the boot menu (hold buttons, go to wipe data, etc.). However, my system still has the same issue and reboots unless I'm in Airplane mode (for the record, many people have reported this, and it's pretty obvious that some company triggers a reboot remotely when they don't like what they see on your phone, and that's why disconnecting prevents reboot). There were some Freedompop apps I uninstalled before, and they are still uninstalled after factory reset. I probably can't even return the phone because the KingoRoot app is installed and I can't remove it. I installed SuperSU, not sure exactly how it works, but it keeps telling me it wants to update and I can't go out of airplane mode to use the Internet.
So, after spending over 24 hours straight on this problem, frustrated the entire time, I found my way here. Though I was skeptical (having had much bad luck so far), I thought maybe a stock ROM would work. However, all links to any kind of ROM for this device on these forums were dead.
My understanding is the source was released for this device here:
tiny url .c om / ppbnlwo (used tinyurl to make it shorter so I could post it; goes to Kyocera Developer Support Downloads)
I'd like to know the following:
1) Will a ROM fix my device, removing Kinguser and all root-related changes I made?
2) Is there a ROM that someone can provide me with (along with instructions hopefully) to help me with this?
Thank you.
I rooted my S6 Edge a couple of days ago with no problems. I later added xposed and a couple of modules, no problem (apart from swipeback needing removed after it disabled my camera/gallery). Last night I shut my phone down and put it on the charge for the night. Today after turning it on it was stuck in a boot loop. I have been searching for fixes but there seem to be many different scenarios. I have tried to boot to recovery multiple times to do a wipe partition cache as that seems to the general fix. Problem is I am only able to get into TWRP. So I tried to do a default wipe with TWRP (Says wipes Data, Cache, and Delvik (not including internal storage) ). My phone now only boots to logo before shutting back off. I assume anyway because it isn't boot looping anymore and holding the power button gets the same result, logo then black screen again.
I am able to get into TWRP menu though I should add just about any option I choose, after it executes/completes the phone freezes and needs to be forced off/restarted. It has done this since TWRP was installed.
I am also able to get to ODIN mode.
If I remember correctly it is the G925F Global model. Running 6.0.1 stock, rooted using SpaceX kernal.
This is the process I used to root: edit: Seems I cannot link until I have at least 10 posts. How to Root Galaxy S6/S6 Edge on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow!
BY MAX LEE google that and top result should be the site I used.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you would need anymore info I will gladly do my best to give it. I would like to fix this without losing all my data, apps pics music etc. But if all else fails I am prepared for that.
