I could rooted and use Titanium Backup(need rooted) but cannot work any tethering applications(inc. Liquid tether).

I am now the proud owner of an Acer Stream, so let me share all the info I got
-> if your Stream is Android 2.1: get the official update from Acer http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/drivers
(select smartphone > Stream > Stream then in OS)
After it's 2.2 follow this procedure:

Get the file and copy it to your /sdcard folder
If you're afraid/ don't know how to use fastboot you can use this very good Recovery Manager coded by Sebastian404 (remember though that your phone has to be rooted)

Now reboot as recovery, you can backup all your data to your external card, and your phone is ready to welcome a custom rom... we just have to wait someone ports CM7 or some other eye candy to it...

I wanted to see if someone can help me. I have acer stream and try to delete some files in the root explorer. I made a mistake and selected all system files and delete them. Now my acer is a paperweight. I tried restarting and nothing. I can not start the phone is in the language selection screen. Someone has the original rom to load it again?, Or someone has a way to fix this? Thank you. : (
Good news! A first custom rom seems to be released. As I'm a new user, I'm apparently not allowed to post outside links, but you'll find the rom looking for "dark.Firmware Glacier (4.007.21) для Acer Stream".
I haven't tried it out yet, so I can't report on any experiences.

Thanks for commenting and all your efforts - I will probably try to install your rom after christmas. One question: Is it possible for you to change the size of the market cache? I can't install big apps (> 25MB) from the Android Market, even though there is enough memory left - I suppose it has to do with cache allocated to market downloads?

i've flashed my acer stream with the dark rom, it works pretty good! only bad thing is, i can't seem to change the ringtone :s
olso it is still android 2.2, it would be nice to see some roms with 2.3
I haven't installed it yet, as I'm going to travel for a few weeks soon and don't want to mess with my phone beforehand, but afterwards I'll try it for sure. By the way, there is a new release of the dark.Firmware Glacier.

the new version of the dark.Firmware doesn't work that well for me, i keep the old one.
The other link you posted seams to contain an corrupt 7z file, I can't open it anyway

The phone works fine,but the app store pre-installed in in chinese...so I installed googlplay, it installed fine, but when I click on it It does not open. Although I can install many of the application via 'apk installer' but its really pain to find to apps on 4shared and some local apps are only available on GooglePlay.
I emailed, antelife, and no help or reply from them. emailed THL W6, they replied "We only deal with china customers" So basically there is no support for this phone. and I come across xda developer, although there are many other models of chinese phones here are talked about, but I could not find THL W6 model.
I am afraid to brick it incase I installed wrong image or rooted it incorrectly. I have rooted/jailbroken android, iphones, ipads in the past, but this time I m bit worried this time.
I found another website 4pda.ru/forum/ index.php? showtopic= 400088 and found to be helpful to some extent, but the image and contents are in russian, so not much of help either.
Can any one please help me to root and run GooglePlay store or guide me to right direction.

I am not sure, did you root your phone already or not yet. but its certain you have to root it and install CWM ROM and then move gapps zip to memory of your phone, restart phone in recovery mode and install from SD card "yes" it will install google play and also will fix Location services and will remove other not needed files from phone(only if you want to)
I had made a detailed guide at gurufoxy.blogspot.ie and also a small video just giving some overview, that what is involved etc.

I think it depends from who you buy the phone, some chinese sellers sell the phone rooted and googstore apks pre installed, some even asks extra charges to do rooting etc for you and some even dnt bother doing anything, they only send you the phone as it is(as happened in my case and other previous poster).
I found out after I got the phone that GooglePlay store does not work in China and they have different Appmarket and search such as Biadu over there. So people should make sure this thing with the chinese seller before they placed the order or better asked for rooted and googlePlay store installed to escape all this hassle.:silly:
Can it be that your phone only supports 3 languages,english and simplified/ traditional chinese ?
Then we knew the difference why my app store works, have an multilingual version.

The phone was not rooted, but after searching MTK Droid Root & Tools helped.
That may the cause of googlePlay crash.
On my phone it shows different version ROM than yours, and it does not shows many languages and choices either..
Well, the phone is in great form, its still fast while running so many different apps in the background, but you can imagine it drains the battery fast, but if I turn off bunch of apps, battery life gets better.

No, just rooted and added clockwork recovery to mine. The standard rom is decent once you've removed the chinese stuff from the phone.

To my understanding, the 4 gig ROM has been divided into several areas, such as system files area, cache area, Internal storage area, phone storage area. When you install applications, it will be stored either in the Internal storage or phone storage area. The 2 gig area you mentioned is the phone storage. You can check the spaces left on your phone through "Setting-> Device-> Storage".
For the gps issue, I think this may help. (Since I am a new user, the system does not allow me to issue an external link as such I put a space after the "http") "http ://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2F4pda.ru%2Fforum%2Findex.php%3Fshowtopic%3D393538%26st%3D760%23entry17787246"

I have thL w6 with 22.10 stock rom.
My problem is regional restrictions in google play.
Cant download very important app for me.
Cracked market from Chelpus 3.10.10 helps with paid apps, but i still cant install some apps because of region.
Lucky patcher with its multi dpi patches doesnt help either.
Did anyone had the same problem?

I bought a phone from China (Lenovo A706...quiet good value for money) and I received it with english software, play store access etc. Now...most people who ordered it from China were not that lucky. Because the phone is listed as China only, it does not have play store access out of the box and most of the apps are in Chinesse. Also, there is virtually no development for this phone in the English speaking world (there are some Russians working on roms but...russian is as bad as Chinesse for most of us )
I have managed to install CWM using a Russian guide (google translate rulls!) and I would like to use that to somehow share the rom on my phone with the community. The question is...how do I do that? Also, the backup was done with my google account signed in so I would obviously want to delete that before I upload it anywhere lmao
I do have some experience of messing with roms and all (my main phone is a Nexus 4 after all...) but I never cooked a rom myself

P.S. If I download one of the Russian roms (which are to be flashed with CWM..easy peasy) and replace my system folder with the system folder in their ROM would that work? I'm talking about the same baseband ofc

cant tell you too much about it as he smashed it about 2 weeks after getting it and it hasnt worked since
i think it was the lollipop update, the pad was pretty decent for £50

i havent got the file anymore - i originally got it from the settings in the tablet,
settings - about tablets - system updates
it just downloaded the file via browser to downloads folder as i recall, and you copy it out before it detects the update file is there.
it downloads from ftp://mypolaroidtablet.com but i cant access that from my laptop without a username and password
i dont recall it asking when accessing from the tablet, which i cant do as its been dropped a couple of times and now the screen is cracked and the wifi doesnt work

When I try to do the usual update method (Settings > About tablet > System update) it locks up and I have to force it to stop. So no auto-updates for me.
Currently stuck on KK 4.4.2
Is there anyone or anyway to get this ROM so I can manually install it, or anyone who's had this problem and fixed it so I can just update my tablet.

Hopefully you already got it sorted.. However, if not then you may want to know the tools usually used to fix this device are:
RKBatchTool,
AndroidTool,
Or PhoenixSuit (although I've not managed to get this one to work)
You can do a quick Google search on any of the tools mentioned above as well as find information on the installation process including the flashing of the P791 device.
I wasn't able to get mine turned on again but you may be able to. (Years ago I used these tools and got it working again, but can't seem to do it this time, maybe mines just had it. I think these are the only options for us though and I remember the annoying task of trying to figure it out as the specific device you're talking about, the one from Asda isn't hardly mentioned nor is it even supported by manufactures anymore so now I have an account on here I thought I'd just post this reply ?

Since writing my reply to your OP I decided to give it another go and was successful.
I used AndroidTools to complete the process of flashing the stock update.img via the "Firmware" tab. If you need any help doing it feel free to reply to this post!

hey, ive been looking for help for a very long time now trying to get my tablet working, got in touch with the support team at Polaroid and they told me i was practically on my own because they dont have a copy of the firmware but now ive found this thread im hoping that you could help me, i dont really know how to get to firmware from the link in this thread to work on my tablet, ive tried loading it from an sd card on the tablet but it fails, i know im probably doing it wrong so some help would be appreciated.

I've received my Cube iWork10 Flagship Dual Boot (i15TC) yesterday and though it would be a good idea to fresh install Windows 10 1607 (RS1)... it was not... lol
So I though, oh well, I'll simply download the ROM from "cube-tablet.com/download/" and put it back on my tablet, but, first of all, the file is hosted on Baidu (All in Chinese, but I've managed to create an account) but the free account does not seems to be able to download the 7.4GB ROM file.
I don't know if someone would be able to get it and put it on a file sharing service or tell me what I should do in order to get it.
The other thing that I don't know is what will be the method to put this ROM back to the tablet.
If you can help me, I will be really greatful !
