Hello guys
How are you doing?
I hope you all are doing good.
I recently purchased a new Samsung Galaxy S III GT-i9300 model.
I read over internet and heard from some friends that the glass covering the front of the device is made from Corning Gorilla Glass 2. This Corning Gorilla Glass 2 is stronger than one, and is scratch resistant.
But if it is really scratch resistant, does it really need any kind of screen protection? If so, why does it need it?
Thank you
It's scratch resistant not scratch proof so I would recommend a screen protector

Have a look at all the screen protector posts in accessories .
In my view its an extra layer of protection .

Gorilla glass my a$$, I have a Samsung approved flip cover, which has a microfibre cloth that touches the screen when closed, yet somehow I still managed to get a scratch, which is easily seen... Just buy a screen protector

Read the accessories threads. It does get scratched so use a screen protector. It will have to be a decent one else it won't stick at the edges because of the curve of the screen.

Thank you guys
Please list out all the company making tempered glass and screen protectors here
Spigen
Suncreast
Elecom
I have only seen muvit tempered glass for Z2 on mobilefun.
Anyone have any experience with that brand on any other phone. I use the Nilkin tempered glass on my Z1 and I am really happy with that so hoping Nilkin will release for Z2 as well.

Are you keeping your Z Ultra once the Z2 is released? I'm debating if I should keep it or not.
I've always used Zagg HD version and never had issues. Does anyone know if any of the listed screen protectors as well as the tempered glass are waterproof? This device is water resistant so say i spend some time with under water pictures. Will i have to worry that my screen protector will fall off?
What's the benefit of putting a tempered glass screen protector on top of a glass phone? Glass on glass?

I would bet they are water resistant, at least to a strong degree. The benefit is the same when using a screen protector: that you don't damage the original glass. Also its real glass, so it retains the feel of glass.
Nilkin had me at "Curved edge". Gonna be ordering one
Just ordered one to Germany. But i have chosen registered mail for 2$.
Just found the SPIGEN Oleophobic Coated Glas.tR Nano SLIM for Sony Xperia Z2, pre-order on Ebay :good:
That's Spigen UK, no doubt available other regions too.

Umm, I have two questions.
1. Since its glass and not plastic sheet, doesn't it add extra weight to the device?
2. Is it crystal clear? I usually order these.

They have glass ones tho, although a bit more expensive, but I don't really care about the price.

Edit : Make that 3 questions, 3rd would be, is the protector for both back and front or front only?
My Nillkin came in yesterday, bit disappointed in the rear protector. I thought it would be the same as the front, I guess I'll have to order something better for the rear like a wet mount one.

I haven't seen it off of the backing paper yet being that I don't have the phone yet. It has the typical green/blue hue on the edges that you normally see on clear glass(which really isn't clear), so it's technically not crystal clear. Being that it's so thing I'm sure it's effectively clear.
Which one shall I get?
Nillkin screen protector http://dx-box.com/nillkin-9h-hardness-tempered-glass-screen-protector-for-sony-xperia-z2.html
or
Spigen screen protector (it's double the price so I would like to know if there is actually any significant difference) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spigen-Prot...40&sr=8-3&keywords=xperia+z2+screen+protector

Hmm, just wanted to know if it'll affect the screen clarity in anyway. I like screen protectors which act like they're not even there when it comes to viewing the screen.
Guys i bought Nilkin from dx-box they sent me for Z1C then they told me they were gonna send again for Z2.I bought magnetic charging cable as well from same place and they sent me again wrong one for Z1.Be aware about this website.
I looked at that nilkin glass screen protector and I looked at the pictures and it looks like there are no cutouts for the front facing speakers. Isn't that going to muffle the sound or damage the speakers?

Isn't the magnetic cable the same for the Z1 and Z2?
Also, is there anyone selling just a non-glass rear protector for the Z2? I like those because it makes the back more grippy and makes me less concerned about setting it down anywhere. I don't like front protectors.
I was wondering if someone found a front AND back set with tempered glass? Couldn't find any. I currently have this on my Z1:
http://theglass-m.com/products/glass-m-premium-tempered-glass-screen-protector-for-sony-xperia-z1
Have anyone who installed tempered glass and put it into water, will it peel off and unable to stick to the screen??
I gonna buy Z2 so i need dual layer of tempered glass for front and back. I do search online but unluckily there is nothing show for dual layer(front and back).
Being a nexus device, it is clear that there is not a wide selection of screen protectors. Any recommendation, whether it be glass or no glass?

Look at the top 10 threads in this subforum. They are all about screen protectors, both plastic and glass.

Anyone suggest a 9H glass screen protector? I have done some research and heard of Halos or foggy screens, covering proximity sensor and others saying if they go to the edges where the screen curves it doesnt lay completely flat causing it to catch on clothing.
Post your suggestions i just got my nexus 6, its a great upgrade over my lg g2.....
Verizon's tempered glass is the best, cut short so no halos

There is an active thread full of information for screen protectors for the N6 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/accessories/tempered-glass-screen-protectors-t2922645. No need for another.
I don't understand how glass screen protectors can possibly work. Do you lose screen sensitivity?
Can anybody recommend a few good film (non-glass) screen protectors that will be excellent for the S7?
Thanks.
I bought Spigen but it has not arrived yet.
tpu vs glass. anyone used tpu protector?
Spigen curved screen protector is good enough for me, altho it's not a glass one.

The Spigen curved crystal HD is a bit of a disappointment. Hard to complain for the price (9 bucks for two) but it scratches easily. By the time you're done squeegy-ing it during the install it's full of scratches and looks like hell, especially when off or with the AOD. I guess that's going to be an issue with plastic protectors. I never tried a glass one. Maybe now I will.
you can try clear coat with lifetime warranty
i use original type...screen sensitivity working great.
I use Original screen protector. The best of what I have tried. But this protection is not full-screen.

Where did you get it???
Currently using Zagg's invisibleshield for my flat s7. I like how it covers tje whole screen and goes side to side, however I don't like the rubbery-like texture of the screen.
