Hi guys, I am using my keyboard dock quite often, but I have one or two apps that are not natively made for a tablet. The facebook app, for example, works in landscape mode without a problem. There are a few other non-tablet apps on the other hand, that will only run in portrait mode, which is quite annoying (and it looks rather stupid when you turn your head just to read on your screen...)
Is there any way to force these apps to run in landscape mode as well?
I hope this is the correct place for this thread, my apologies if it is not.
After some searching i did not find anything.
I'm just wondering if there is currently an app out there that allows certain applications to use the rotation sensor on our phones, but not other applications.
For instance i like to text message in landscape mode sometimes but when i go to my home screen and tilt my phone at all, the home screen will go to landscape which i don't like because it takes a long time to switch back and forth between portrait and landscape and seems to be overly sensitive to the axis of my phone.
Does this application exist? If not, how hard would it be to create? i feel like i'm not the only person who would enjoy this application so any help would be wonderful.
I don't know if an app already exists specifically for your needs but your home launcher itself should have an option to turn off the screen rotation altogether without turning it off for everything else.

Yes i know about this feature. I'm looking for something for allowing it to switch for certain apps but not all. any idea how hard this would be to create?
Have you tried Smart Rotator? Seems like it may do what you want. Available in the Market.
Try this, maybe it'll help for what you need?

Ah! thank you very much macellaio, this seems to be EXACTLY what i was looking for, although it does seem to take up a good chunk of RAM (25MB) thank you very much. no clue why i couldn't find that.
Does anyone know how to use the full screen when in tablet mode in ICS?...because the drawer and homescreens don't use the full screen.
I don't see the point in having the phone in tablet mode when you can't even use the whole screen to put the app shortcuts and widgets where you want them, thanks.
If anyone knows a way around this issue then please help.
Hi guys, long time lurker.
So I've had this phone since last summer and I've been following this area for a while now looking for a way to root. But since my bootloader was locked I haven't had any luck.
Anyways, I really hate softkeys. They look ugly to me and since I'm right-handed, the placement of the back button the left has been very inconvenient. I've been using pie controls since my galaxy nexus and found it much easier to navigate.
I was wondering if there was any way to tweak the phone to either remove the softkeys permanently so I can just rely on pie controls. I know there are apps that temporarily do this, but another reason why I would rather have it permanently removed is so that my dock can align with the very bottom of the screen.
This question is kinda niche since I'm sacrificing more function for design and if pie controls crash I'll need to reset, but that's just how I am. I was just curious on what my options are. This phone is a beaut and it's a shame I can't root
Hi!
I'm looking for a way to disable the Samsung Keyboard to go into fullscreen in landscape mode.
I know there is a workaround with XPosed, but my phone is not rooted and I don't want to root it just because of this.
The best way would be to just customize the Keyboard app itself, to think the phone is not landscaped.
Can I somehow achieve this with Samsung Keyboard?
It seems it's pretty deeply integrated that even package manager is not showing it when I run "pm list packages".
Let me know your thoughts.
