Lollipop App Drawer Icon Bug - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone!
Is this a app drawer bug or a shortcut? Here's the video: sendvid.com/smov18rd
If I put other apps in the place of the Settings or Google Settings it opens that apps, like this shortcut opens the 2 middle applications of the app drawer.
Bug or Shortcut?
Thank you

App Name & Icon

How would I go about changing the icon & name of an application? Or removing the app from my app list without uninstalling it..
You can do this with DX-Top. Install icon packs and fonts, rename apps and hide apps.

If you are looking to change the icon and name of an app on any of your homescreens, then that's easily done with any of the newer versions of Launcher Pro. Just update the software, and when you add an icon to the homescreen, it will show you a window allowing you to change the name and icon of a shortcut. Hiding apps from the launcer is also a feature of Launcher Pro. Just go into Launcher Pro preferences, general settings, and hidden apps. From there, hide what you want.

I have the latest version of LauncherPro Plus, and it doesnt ever ask me to change the names or icons (Thats only for the dock apps)

need name of this app - separates apps in categories

hi. thanks for reading this. i'm looking for the name of this app. i had to reformat and start from scratch so i lost the app name.
it does a very simple thing:
in the app drawer, when you create another category, and you put an app in that category, it removes it from the "ALL/UNCATORIZED" app drawer page. otherwise the app will be on both the main/all app drawer as well as the category page.
thanks!
are you talking about apps organizer?
autoapp organizer does that

ADW launcher?
If you're still using CM7 default ADW, there's a setting: ADWLauncher > Drawer Settings > Categorized Only.

[Q] Is there a way to create a short cut to Accuweather app?

I like the app but hate the widget...so is there a way to do this?
Grab AnyCut (F-Droid has it), create an AnyCut shortcut on the home screen and set its activity to WeatherWidgetMain

cool, lemme try that out.
Well, Any Cut crashes on my gs3....any other ideas?
Are you trying to add the shortcut by running AnyCut from its icon in the application drawer? Instead, make space for a shortcut on your homescreen and drag AnyCut from the Widgets section of the application drawer. It works for me on both Nova Launcher Prime and the TouchWiz Launcher. I forgot to state this earlier, sorry about that, but the shortcut takes you to the list of cities you configured - even if there's only one - so you must select your city in order to see the overview.
Resolved.
There is actually a Galaxy S3 Weather app on Play Store that creates an app shortcut for the default Accuweather widget.
It will be handy if Any Cut works on the GS3 though.

[Q] HTC Gallery link?

Can anyone tell me where I can find the HTC Gallery app in the filetree? It is installed, but when I go to look for it in my app drawer I can not find it. I would like to put a shortcut to it on my homescreen.
I wonder if it might be an issue with the Nova launcher app drawer?
Yep, disregard this question. I found it by poking around in Nova's app drawer. I used the add an app pop-up when longpressing the home screen and chose "Show hidden apps" and found it.

Have you tried this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.simonesestito.ntiles&hl=es ? It lets you add app shortcuts to the quick settings toggles
GoodLock has QuickStar app that allows extensive customization
or use Nova Launcher, i set it to open calculator by swiping up with 2 fingers
Thank you
I thought that these simple features are available by default in the S23 mobile phone and there is no need to install separate applications.
