Hi, all. <SOLVED>
Sorry if this has already been posted. I've searched the forums and Google and I can't find a fix for this issue. Right! The issue I'm having is: I use my Nexus 9 for X amount of time, I leave it on my bedside table for a few hours and when I swipe to unlock the screen flashes black and goes right back to the swipe to unlock screen. The only thing that solves this is booting into TWRP and wiping Dalvik cache and regular cache. I'm having to do this every day and it's really getting on my nerves. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a permanent fix for it?
I'm running stock Marshmellow, With TWRP recovery, rooted and using Elemental X 4.0 kernel. I've tried every other kernel, and nothing seems to fix this issue. Is this a hardware issue or is it just software in which case does anyone know of a fix.
Thank's in advance for any help, this problem is driving me nuts.
No one know's how to fix this problem? Looks like I'll be sending this POS back.
I'd eliminate more variables -- run for a while fully stock for a while, especially the stock kernel, and see how it goes.

Thank's for the reply. I thought that would be the logical step myself, so I went back to stock last night, left my N9 on standby all night and woke up to the same problem. I did use a toolkit to go back to stock though and it seems to have flashed the unencrypted kernel. So, today I'm going to manually flash it back to stock and see if that solves the issue. The only thing left then is to re-lock the bootloader, but I can't see that being the problem. I ill try as a last resort before sending it back for a replacement though.
I think I've figured out the problem. I purchased a 3rd part folio case and I think the magnets on the front of the case were causing the screen unlock issues. I've had the case off all day and had no issues unlocking the device. I'm going to give it a day or two just to be sure, but I think I've found the culprit.
I had the same problem with a roocase orgami. I simply wedged some material between the case and the tablet's top portrait edge and that did the job. A few millimeters was all it needed to stop triggering the magnets.

Thank's for the advice. I couldn't believe it was just the case causing this issue lol.

On the right hand side of my device a strip running from the top of the phone to the bottom of the phone exactly half an inch wide will not respond. I noticed in while texting a friend.
I am unlocked running Alien Build 3. I am going to wipe and install Build 4 and see if that fixes the problem, any other ideas? I have the ATT Warranty thing.
This picture shows the region that is dead.

Same thing happened to my G/F's atrix except the left side. It was warranty replaced via AT&T. The kicker is you will have to call and talk for an hour with the tier 1, then to a tier 2, then the "special android techs"... the result of the call was they told her to factory reset. That in turn derped her worse cause then she couldnt even setup blur. She had to rotate it into landscape to get it to setup. Being hers was on the left, the E/W wouldnt work and since her email had 3 e's it was a PITA. PS- I sbf'd, tried to restore the PDS (or whatever) partition, and did resets; none of which worked. Just trying to save you some time, call AT&T and get a new one y0
I got a new one, but now the new one is doing the same thing.... /facepalm
What can I flash to get my phone all the way back to bone stock?
Same happening to me, it's the dead center of the screen.
Works on an off randomly. Factory reset wouldn't fix it.
Would love to know if it is possible to fix without having to send the phone in for repair.
Been using my touchpad for over a year now and recently had this problem of the bottom of the screen being unresponsive to touch. Is this a hardware of software issue? How do i fix it?

to judge that problem, why not try to switch between webos and android, if this issue exist in both systems, that must be a hardware problem
Weird, I'm having the exact same issue.

Just tried it on web os same problem came up. Strange that it could be a hardware issue though. Never dropped or abused it. Will buying a new digitizer solve this?
Here's mine. Submitted a claim to hp. Hopefully its worth it to fix. I'm sure its not software related, but OP, which rom were you on when you started encountering this problem?

i would try first resetting your device back to stock. incliuding uunistalling any android partitions. if youre back on stock web os and youre still having response issues i would definitly try replacing the digitizer. they probably dont cost much and if you know what youre doing fairly easy to install. i do them for people with cell phones sometimes.
So, this is not my tablet, but my wife's tablet.
The tablet is from Russia (we are in the US now).
Stock rom
No modifications
No root
Just barebones as it is.
So, she was using it and she put it down, and about, I guess 20 - 30 mins later, she picked it up and asked me what happened. And it is a strange thing because the ROM seems to have hardcore glitched (I believe) because somehow half of the top screen was at the bottom of the screen now and bottom half was missing and we could see the "Android is optimizing apps 56 out of 121" somehow, and we didnt even install any updates by ourselves.
So now the screen is glitched in these weird boxed patterns, not like the screen is broken, but something is wrong somewhere.
Take a look at the photo below.
Also I am trying to somehow flash an earlier version of the OS to see if that fixes anything.
You opinions are welcome.

You can try repairing your tablet with the help of Sony PC Companion software.
How to do it?
Here's a link to guide

If it is software bug, reflashing will definitely fix it.
But this issue with screen distortion may also be hardware bug, cable that connects display with motherboard may get loose.
So if pc-companion/flashtool won't help you, firmly press left/right sides on the back of tabz and check screen for any changes. If nothing good you need to take it to service or heat back cover and carefully open it afterwards to check/replace it manually.
If you can read russian, check this thread.
Hi guys,
I´ve a X820 with a divided screen. some colorful pixel on the left side and working lcd on the right side. I´ve tried 4 different screens. the used LCDs are working well on other phones.

then I removed the black sticker around the lcd connector and catched out that some resistors are loosened.
Do anyone know these issue? is there any fix? soldering? but where I can find the spare parts?
Thanks for your help guys

Exact same problem here too. I've been using the phone fine for two months but just yesterday this screen issue happened. It happens randomly and is hard to reproduce. Tapping or scrolling the left side seems to cause glitches. Hopefully this isn't a hardware issue.
Screenshots do not show the problem, and funnily enough pressing things on the left of the screen still works, like opening apps/typing etc, you just can't see what you're doing until the glitch clears itself! It also happened once on the LeEco splash screen on booting, and in recovery mode. I'm not sure about the bootloader.
I haven't looked at the resistors as the phone is basically new, so if this is a hardware issue I'm hoping for a replacement! If anyone has a fix please post it!
I also had the same issue but for some reason only with LOS 15.1.
When I boot into it it's fine but when I lock the phone half of it turns into RGB noise like on the photo. Restarting does fix the problem but still locking it makes the noise again. I think it's just a software glitch.
Thanks @LameMonster82. Mine is a lot more often than that, and not just when locking the phone. Glad to know this could just be a software issue though!
@toto1988 any update on this? Did you find a fix? There's a solution offered by @geekch to reflash the LeMax2Qfil so I may try that myself over the next few days. Flashing stock Rom and recovery unfortunately did not work so Qfil may be the last resort.
Sorry for delay. Now I got a new motherboard and anything works fine again. So it was definitely a hardware issue. Before I tried all other potential software fixes without success.
Hi, I have had my Le Max 2 for well over a year and it has been working fine. Tonight exactly one half(right side vertically) has a pink/green noise flicker on and off all the time. I've attached an image but of what is happening, although its the whole right side now and not just 3/4 of it. Also the previous screen I am browsing sometimes stays on the right side too.
Can anyone help with what it could be?
Cheers for your help

You need to remove the screen. Make the screen contact correct. Improve the badge. Secure with screws. Everything will be fine.
I have same problem, it shows up for 100ms, then it's gone. I have it appearing only while watching videos, never on normal use. With modem/firmware from 16s to 28s I always have this kind of glitch appear from top to bottom, on modem 30s it looks exactly like on yours 3/4 th of screen. Looks like software problem to me. I still have no solution for it
Hi, Im the original poster. My le max still does this every now and again but at the moment its fine. Mine is definitely to do with hardware. I believe its a loose ribbon. It sometimes starts if i drop my phone and i can also stop it from happening if i bang the phone upside down a couple of times.
You can try to squeeze phone just below sim slot, ribbon is located there about 1cm to the right from the left border of the screen. In my case I'm 100% sure, my problem is software related, since firmware changes glitch behavior. Unless firmware changes way how video chip communicates with the screen...
Sometimes 1 second, but I'm seeing it 1 or 2 times a week.
Rom doesn't notice
