My GPS was works fine before I install 5.1.1 !

TF-201 X Axis Issue
I'm wondering if anyone who is using the latest noticed if there is an x axis toggle? I replaced my digitizer and have the x axis reversed.

Tested just now, I'm on KatKiss 5.1.1 v28 couldn't get GPS to lock on. Very cloudy / raining today tho and I've never tested GPS on my prime before.

Tested again on a clearer day also had close to full WiFi reception, was not able to get GPS lock for about 5 mins while outside.

overclocking issues
I am unable to overclock the device after installing katkiss. i can select 1700 MHz in the menu but it just reboots after i set it and then it goes back to 1500. I tried using setcpu as well but same result.
Also, every time it boots it says android is starting and it takes very long to boot. Even if i reboot it myself it does the same thing.
Anybody have a solution for this?

What are the major issues with CM7 on the Touchpad?
Well, its an alpha port, meaning not everything is gonna work.
First of all, its not stable, some apps WILL crash, wifi settings sometimes will fail to work, fluctuating your signal. Almost every popular app seems to work now, netflix, facebook, gmail, youtube works alright, the quality of the videos is not that good but bearable. Sometimes random SoD (sleep of death) occur putting your table into a semi perm sleep stage, and you have to press the power button and home button and hold them for 20 seconds or so.
Overall, its 6/10 of what it can be. don't expect 2.3 to work as good as your phone.
The main problems for me are:
Incompatible apps, either from the resolution and screen size, or not landscape optimized.
No VOIP integration.
Video does not play, either from youtube or flash, it shows lines and other static.

The wife and I have had virtually no major problems. The biggest one was not being able to connect to wifi outside of home but that seems to be fixed with a post I found here. Otherwise its small things, occasional app crashes, the odd app that wont run. Its no different than just about any custom rom on a phone (and I have seen many). Once in a blue moon ill get a random freeze/reboot. Never had the sod problem, Netflix, YouTube, flash videos all run like butter, I can stream anything I want, really, the TP has taken over as my main home device

Thanks for the replies. I bought my TP with the intention to install Android on it. Ive been waiting for a stable release, with ICS out it will probably be another 2 mths.
The main issue ive read about is the WiFi, which is pretty critical for what I use the TP for. Why do some people have the issue and others dont? Is there something that can be done to lessen the issue?

I turned off the setting that allows the wifi to turn off when the tablet goes to sleep. I also used the SOD fix just in case as well after I installed Alpha 2. That seems to do a good job keeping it connected.
Another thing I had to do was use my wireless G signal instead of my wireless N signal (I have dual band). On wireless N, I was getting a very weak signal but with wireless G the signal was very strong. Using WebOS, the wireless N was as strong as the G so I have to assume there is something weird with CM7 for this.
My only main issue is with wi-to. It's very sporatic and frustrating. Is anyone aware of a fix? Other than, just typical issues nothing critical. It's a surprisingly stable Alpha other than that. Facebook also doesn't work for me, but not a large issue.
My major issue is that I can't connect to my work's wifi with enterprise level encryption. I once got it to connect, but webpages would only load sometimes. On my home wifi, I have no issues connecting.
The other issues I've seen are that I woke up this morning, and my Touchpad was off instead of asleep. The battery wasn't dead or anything, and it turned back on fine. When I loaded Angry Birds, it crashed twice, but the third time it worked perfectly.

Zipaligning and fixing permissions in ROM Toolbox helped a ton with crashes and FC's.

What SOD fix?
Every time I want to shutdown my TP in CM7 it gets restarted instead, and there was one time I got nut and forced shutdown it when it was booting and the system crashed. I had to uninstall and install everything which wasted my whole night in that day.....

I've run many custom ROMs on my Incredible and on my Eris, without app issues like this. The eris has a lot of apps that don't run well, but I can assure you this is not a custom ROM issue. I have yet to see an app that won't run on my incredible with custom ROMS.
BTW the wifi seems to work better for me at least with alpha 3. Before flashing alpha 3 my wifi was completely non-working, it would crash when I went into wifi settings.
I need my youtube and its not working properly on alpha 2 or 3. Once thats fixed I'm good on cm7.
But I"m still waiting for some one to do honeycombo or ICS

[Q] Maybe a potential fix for SOD(sleep of death)?!?!

Hi Guys,
Im no Genius when it comes to android, but I have done my fair share of programming before, but my SOD are killing me and a last resort is a warranty exchange as I cannot be without a phone.
So far I have been getting SOD about 5 times a day if not more, and I am one for tinkering with gadgets until i break or crash it, fix it and doing it all over again.
But anyway back on topic
I have noticed this in the build.prop
" persist.ril.mux.sleep=2 "
And so I wondered if this is causing my SOD, does anyone have any ideas regarding its uses?
Findings (as of 2155)
In my testing thus far I have changed it to "persist.ril.mux.sleep=1" using phone leaving it for an hour doing it over just for fun, And I have been SOD for 5 hours straight and haven't had any SOD or adverse battery drain
I mean this may not be the cause of the SOD for me, or anybody but I am up for trying just about anything
What is SOD?

I have SOD here too. To me it's only happens when I turned off a data connection (3G or wifi).
I use LoadMonitor app as a workaround for a while, with success.
At now I'm using Neutrino 2.5 CM7 ROM with success too. I think it's more a blur rom problem than cm7 one.
Let us know about your progress.
So if you disable load manager you would get SOD?
I am making a script to update a few things so far no SOD for me, after a few tweaks
What settings are you using on load manager ?
Any info you can give me will help in me tracking down some of the errors and temporary fixes people are using to avoid the dreaded issue
Oh, THAT's what that was!
I forgot to turn the wifi back on a few nights ago when I said "Hey, let's watch some movies on netflix with my super-duper mirroring-abled phone!" So an hour into it, LBE Privacy warns me I'm about to max out my data, and I go turn the damn wifi back on but turned OFF the 3G.
Then last night I go to wake up my phone and the screen is "black but on", & took a couple of tries to wake it. I'm on Nottachtrix.

I'm a bit confused here. I don't know what "load manager" is.
What a sad is I used LoadMonitor app (from market) as a workaround.
LoadMonitor just monitor taks that are running in your device. But it have an option that claims to prevent device deep sleep. So, when I checked this option my device don't get SOD.
It's a workaround, as I sad, and I don't know how LoadMonitor do that.
What is load manager?
Thanks
I had a similar issue, I installed SetCPU and set my minimum speed to ~456(faux 1.45 Kernel).

I tried some roms and the only one I hadn't random reboots was jokersax11 alpha7 (ICI), now I'm on beta 0.2.0 and had reboots.
I'm having the same problem. I've tried 3 different ROMs. I used Nottachtrix, following the directions to the letter with reboots and hard locks. Recently I flashed back to 4.5.91 (w/pudding) and I was having the same issues. I noticed that on the hard locks, my phone appeared to be warm, so I used SetCPU at 216MHz and still had hard locks and random reboots. I've not set the lowest setting at 301 and so far I haven't had any reboots, but its only been about 5 hours. But I was having them at least once every few hours.
BTW - I also noticed that I only had the freezes and hard locks when the phone was running on the battery. I rarely had problems when the phone was on the dock or USB charger, however, I did have reboots when it was on the wall charger.
Another program you can try is call 'Wake Lock' available from the marketplace. I haven't used it yet, I'm still experimenting with load monitor.
Wake lock has a few different options and has some really good review.
I confirmed that Neutrino 2.5 CM7 Rom works great without reboots.
That's a patch you need to apply to correct a battery drain problem of the original version. Notorious544d are working in a 2.6 version including that patch.
To me it's working like a charm. I'm testing for two days but, of course, everyone needs to test it in your own device.
PS: Follow this instructions to install a battery drain patch in Neutrino 2.5 (or wait for a 2.6 version):

Atrix SOD & Random reboots related to Wifi?
Does anyone know if the Atrix SOD & Random reboots are related to WiFi. I've had my wifi off all day and I've had no crashes.
I'm going to run it for a few more days without Wifi and see what happens.
I don't know about other guys, but wifi and 3G was the cause of my Atrix SOD and reboot problems.
Solved it using Neutrino Rom CM7 based.
See you!
Still working on my SOD issue, but recently, I disabled most power options, turned off wifi, rebooted and I've been running for 2 days with no crashes. After day 3, I'm going to turn wifi back on reboot and see what happens.
Update 1
After 3 days with wifi disabled, I've had no crashes, no freezes or random reboots. I'm going to enable wifi again and see what happens.
Update 2
After turning enabling my wifi and using it briefly then turning it back off, I had a random reboot later that evening.
The more I used my wifi, the more frequent my crashes became.
Interesting side note
I can enable all my radios when plugged into the desktop charger and I won't experience any crashes, however, if plugged into to the AC charger, I've had reboots and freezes.

GPS Won't Lock

Hi, any of you guys having problems with the GPS not locking?
My phone doesn't have a data plan, so I'm guessing that this might be the main source of the problem. I've tried modifying my gps.config, but still the GPS just won't lock.
Any ideas why?

Have you tried it while on WiFi, and still not locking on?
Mine took like 20 minutes to lock first time without a data plan.. My wifi setup didn't transpose the kind of data that would have helped (very odd ddwrt)

Yes, I managed to get it to lock a few times with wi-fi on, but it's not reliable, took around 15min to lock and then lost signal almost instantly.
Just tested a few different ROMs with stock kernel and still no luck. I purchased this phone a few days ago. Everything is running so nicely, it's such a shame that the GPS is not working.
OK, so this is really strange. I think I found out what is wrong with the phone. Apparently, the case of this phone is an antenna for the Wi-Fi and GPS. Whenever I press the case firmly against the body of the phone, the GPS works flawlessly. The problem is not the ROMs or Kernels.
Edit: confirmed: I cleaned out all of the copper connecting points on the case and the phone. GPS is locking within seconds now.
another thing that'll help speed up GPS is this little hack someone discovered a while back

[Q] XT910 GSM Liquid Smooth 2.3 issues

Hi folks.
I've flashed liquid smooth 2.3 (jelly bean 4.2.2) by safestrap 3.1 on slot 3, just like recommended by its developers (at least is what I've read on some tutorials).
I'm enjoying this rom very much, but I've experienced some issues, like:
1) File explorers incompatibility. When I open a file explorer (tried some), it just close automatically at the moment I try to open internal sdcard.
2) Some random reboots (just a few. commonly after trying installing some app by play store - couldn't see a pattern - or trying to use a file explorer).
3) Battery seems to be drained faster. On stock rom the battery used to last about 3-4 days. I'm not a heavy user and I turn off the phone by night near to 11/12pm, turning it on again by 6/7 am. Now the battery lasts 2 days, at most, using the same way.
It has 4 months of use, never dropped or something harmful. I'd like to keep this rom, even in the case these issues are not solved.
Any clue?
Thanks!

Not sure about the Force closures....
But one thing is for sure when it comes to custom ROMS
you need to atleast have the rom for 1 week before you really judge the Battery life...
By 1 week i meant about 5-7 charge n discharge cycles...
The ROM will be Sucking the battery for in initial days after which it will stablise! hope this helps!
(i have flashed many rom n have seen this trend)
Thanks, buddy.
Actually I've flashed it a few days ago and did just two cycles of full discharge/charge. I'll wait for another three or four cycles to see what happen.
Other doubt, I've noted the wifi's signal is weaker. Where I used to see two or three bars, now I'm getting just one or two. Do you know what it can be?

Hi Max.
I didn't even know our xt910 can capture 5 GHz signal.
I've noted the strenght of the signal dropped down, but I've been using it just at 2.4 GHz.
The battery began to show some improvement. I'm using it for 3 days and 6 hours and still have 14%. (Couldn't send a screenshot)
In short, this is my definitive rom. I'll get use with this weaker signal.
I got a router wifi at work right beside me, and at home the distance is not that long, at most about 12 meters straight ahead, with two walls in between.
I'll live...

Well, now I'm testing Liquid Smooth 2.3 + JBX Kernel 0.4.6 OCE (OverClocking Edition).
So far, it's stable and raised up AnTuTu 3 to 8986 points at 1350 MHz.
I've tested JBX Kernel 0.4.5 BSE (Battery Saving Edition) for only two days. Despite was not time enough to test its main characteristic (battery saving), I can say that had run stable, marked 7479 point on AnTuTu 3 with the clock at 1000 MHz.
Let's see if this kernel actually is stable. I've flashed 0.4.6 OCE just about 4 hours until now...
Max, I finally saw where we set wifi to operate with 5 GHz. I was pleased to know about this possibility. I'm going to try it and let you know about.

News from other rom (avatar)
Hi guys!
Well, I've tested Liquid Smooth 2.8 and liked it. Basically it seemed to be a bit more stable than the last I've used (version 2.3). Battery life is about to 2-3 days, depends basically on 3g (the Aquiles' heels of all batteries). Some few loss of wifi and needed to reboot. Wifi calibration won't help when this issue happens. I liked LS and the only issue that bothered me a little was the fact the wifi's signal was a bit weaker. Just it.
I've tested CyanogenMod 10.1 and basically almost the same: wifi's signal weaker, but in this case I haven't got wifi loss of signal. Liquid Smooth uses a little bit less memory than CyanogenMod, about 50-80 MB in general. Battery life is quite as good as LS. I've got until 4 days of battery life with CyanogenMod 10.1, but with less usage. Detail: wifi is always on (both cases).
Now I'm testing Avatar, based on 3.0 arion (CyanogenMod), about 2 weeks. This rom doesn't loss wifi's signal, but I need to calibrate it every boot. Just it.
I've noted that wifi's signal is as good as stock rom, better than LS and pure Cyanogen. For the first time I've got 5(!) days and 9 hours of battery life. I was amazed about that.
In this 5 days:
- wifi always on
- e-mail checking (everyday)
- music playing about some hours in 2 days (weekend)
- some internet surfing (everyday)
- about 2 hours of 3g (weekend)
- some photos (3 days I guess, don't remember exactly)
- some google play updates on wifi
- whatsapp e gmail always on
- some skype conversation (just chat)
What taked my attention the most was the fact I've used in other roms JBX kernel in underclock mode (100 mhz - 1200 mhz) and now it's stock tuned (300 mhz - 1200 mhz) (the kernel thas was shipped with avatar rom).
I've used and I'm using (in all roms) the app PimpMyRom beta. Did all the tweaks. I've used in all roms.
Avatar Antutu 3.3.2
Forgot to mention.
Antutu 3.3.2: 8510 (stock 1200 mhz, HotPlug, Noop)
The best score until then was 8929 with overclock (1350 mhz) on jbx kernel (don't remember exactly the version) with Liquid Smooth 2.8.
I'm enjoying this rom until now. No lag at all, always at least 300 mb of free ram, better battery life and good wifi signal strength.
Just now I could send the screenshot.

Something weird happened yesterday.
I use to listen to some music when I go home after job, but last evening the music player just refused to work saying that it couldn't read the mp3s.
Well, I went to open the music folder in the sdcard when I was surprised by the non existence of an sdcard.
I rebooted, cleared the caches by safestrap and then... it booted on stock....
Rebooted again, opened safestrap and was caught by a suprisingly loss of the slot1. It was not there anymore. Booted in stock again and it showed up the sdcard and the internal memory empty.
Any clue?
Now I'm trying cm10.2 again. WiFi is working, but just after a calibration. Until now it seems everything is working: WiFi, camera, 3g, apps in general, GPS, sensors, etc. Just didn't test HDMI, but I've never used it, neither at stock ROM, so it doesn't bother me.

Whoa, you really made me wanna try Avatar ROM hehe...
But no clue about your ROM slot disappearing issue, never heard of it... is your SD card working right now?
I was trying CM10.2 aswell, and it worked really great, but right now I am back on latest AOKP nightly, i have never seen any other ROM works so smooth and fast... + I love their features Only problem is that you have to manually fix GPS, but thats job for 2 minutes.
Hi tsunamik
Yes, sd card is working fine, but guess what? I'm back on stock rom...
Do you know if it's possible to flash custom roms on stock slot?
It seems the slots are made on user partition, not on rom partition. That's why I'm wondering about that.

Wifi issues... Link speed

Hi... I have trouble with my wifi since yesterday...
The problem is that the phone can connect to the network perfectly but it has a really low link speed, 5 mbps and the wifi signal strenght is pretty good. I don't understand why this is happening.. .
What I have notice is that when I turn the wifi on, at first when the wifi icon is grey the wifi link speed is at 65 mpbs which I think that it was were it always has been but immediately turns to 5 mpbs.
Another thing that happens is that if I let the wifi on, after sometime it gets kinda like stuck, the connection is lost and the icon is grey but I can't turn it off.
My phone is a samsung galaxy s II (I9100) running CM rom, 10.2-20131014-NIGHTLY
Any advice about how to fix this problem?

My phone is a samsung galaxy s II (I9100) running CM rom, 10.2-20131014-NIGHTLY
Any advice about how to fix this problem?

You should try using a different rom like slimsaber rom by Fusionjack or cyanogenmod sabermod by Markox89.
Thanks for the reply, gsstudios.
I have a question, isn't there a way to fix the problem without having to use another rom? I don't think that the problem lays in the rom that I'm using, because like I said before, the problem started yesterday and I have the phone for a couple of years now.

You could try a different kernel like dorimanx 9.44 v005. If that bootloops, try dorimanx 8.44 v004. Since your WiFi toggle freezes after sometime, it could be a problem with the ROM. It could be due to some kind of corruption of the WiFi component in the ROM or maybe there is some interference with your WiFi signal.
Hope this helps, gsstudios
I installed Kernel_Dorimanx-V8.43-[12-21]-[24-10]-JB-SGII-PWR-CORE from dorimanx site and it didn't help with the situation, still I get a link speed of 5 mbps. Now, after flashing the kernel I have a new problem: I don't have root access anymore.
What can I do?

You should be able to get root access if you update SuperSU (if it's installed).
I can't update anything or do much things with the low link speed of wifi that the phone has...

Can't you send the file through your computer? Here is the flashable zip: http://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip?retrieve_file=1
Your problem with wifi seems very weird. Are you using 5ghz or 2.5ghz channel? If you've tried both, check if you wifi setting have changed on your router. And are you sure there is no interference that is potentially slowing down your signal?
Well, now things got worse, wifi directly won't turn on: not from the icon, not from the toggle bar. It's dead. I had the wifi on automatic so I don't know what band was on..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: I found a way to get the wifi working again. But still I got the same problems like before: low link speed and after sometime the wifi freeze and I have to reboot the phone to get it working again.
On a side note, I have downloaded an app a few days back called wifi status wich is a widget app that let you see the wifi link speed and I don't understand a thing: it shows 2 things: the wifi link speed, for example 5mbps and down that shows something liike: -63dBm
That thing dBm is something that always change numbers...
Any idea of what that is?

Right now I have a link speed of 19mbps, a few minutes back was 26mbps... But it went back to 19 mbps... I don't know what is happening with the phone.
Help please, I don't know what to do...
