HTC Desire 601 RUU Collection thread
Prerequisites:
You already know how to use FASTBOOT & ADB commands, if not, there are already a lot of guides for that.
How to flash:
Download and install the latest android sdk-tools package (adb and fastboot) on your computer
Download and install latest HTC drivers on your computer.
If HTC Sync is installed on your computer, uninstall it (not closing it, uninstall !!)
Download the RUU for your phone and save it in your Android SDK Tools\platform-tools\ folder (where adb.exe and fastboot.exe are installed)
Download htc_fastboot.exe and save it in your Android SDK Tools\platform-tools\ folder (where adb.exe and fastboot.exe are installed)
Connect the phone to your computer using the original cable or any other cable already known to work correctly with adb and fastboot. Reboot the phone in bootloader mode, choose "fastboot" option and make sure the red "fastboot usb" caption is shown.
If your phone is S-ON, the bootloader must be LOCKED or RELOCKED. If its UNLOCKED, relock-it using
Code:
fastboot oem lock
If the phone is S-OFF, the bootloader status doesn't matter: LOCKED/RELOCKED/UNLOCKED is fine, would recommend the leave it UNLOCKED so you don't have to unlock&wipe your phone again after flashing the RUU.
Reboot the phone in RUU mode:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
You should now see a black screen with silver HTC logo
Flash the RUU:
Code:
htc_fastboot flash zip "ruu".zip
replace "ruu" with your RUU file name. Wait for the RUU to flash completely. When fastboot output "OKAY, Finished. Total time: x.xx s", the RUU is flashed successfully. The green progress bar on your phone might not be 100%. this is normal.
Reboot the phone:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Other important notes READ!:
You must have and use htc_fastboot.exe when instructed (Step 9). The "normal" fastboot from the android sdk tools will not work to flash the RUU
If your phone is S-ON, you can only flash a ruu if your bootloader is LOCKED or RELOCKED
If your phone is S-ON, you can only flash a ruu version number that is the exact same version or newer then your current version. Installing an older version (downgrade) requires S-OFF. E.g: If your phone is S-ON, currently installed version is 2.14.631.15, you can't use the 2.14.631.3 ruu unless you achieve S-OFF.
If you must use an older RUU you can easily achieve S-OFF following instructions from this guide
Because you must use htc_fastboot.exe, you can only do this procedure using a computer running Windows OS.

If you can't install just try rename this file to: 0P4EIMG.zip put to ext SD card and go to bootloader. Then Droid automatically install new rom or you can used microbox aplication for HTC with drivers. This app create special binaries and will give you access to goldcard mode that mean your bootloader will be unlocked in service mode, fastboot can flash everything.

Why don't you let us know what problems you are having, what region the Rhyme is from (Europe, Asia,...?), what RUUs you've tried exactly, and what part of the RUU is not working (error codes)?
The more info you give the better we can help.

That is not correct. You need to relock the bootloader while in the bootloader/fastboot mode so adb doesn't work there anyway.

I have RELOCKED it,but still cannt do anithing with RUU
Now is error 131
Error 131 should be because you are trying to use an HTC Rhyme RUU that is for a different region. If you don't have fastboot set up, you should (get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790). Once you have that set up, open a CMD prompt and change directories to the folder where your fastboot files are then boot to the bootloader again and plug it in. Then do this:
fastboot devices
(this should pull up a string of letters+numbers, if it does not, you are either in the wrong folder or drivers are not correct)
if you get something with fastboot devices then do this:
fastboot getvar all
and post that here. This will give us ALL the details about what is on the phone and where it is from, etc.
Also, post up the version you are trying, for a reference point.

So I've been trying to s-off an AT&T M7 that just doesn't want to s-off.
Code:

It's already HTCDev unlocked. I put TWRP on it and rooted it with supersu if the ROM didn't come with root.
I've tried the following with 4 different roms:
revone, stock 4.1.2 (forgot build #) = Segmentation Fault error after command ./revone -P
revone, AOSP 4.4.4 (omni) = ./revone -P automatically reboots phone every time running the command (have tried both on terminal emulator and adb)
revone, AOSP 4.3.1 (cm) = same as above
revone, AOSP 4.2.2 (cm) = same as above
^ I thought I could try this 3 times then try the -s 0 -u command, but I just get a revone error = -1 after that.
rumrunner (on all roms) gives a nonspecific error and tells me to download the latest/device specific version on rumrunner.us. I used the Universal 5.0 version.
the batch process for firewater stops and exits after booting to the bootloader for the first time, I don't think it even gave an error message.
Anyone have been in a similar boat and figured this out?
The other option I'm thinking is to download an older RUU 4.1.2 package, make it a flashable zip and try again.

flash a rom with insecure kernel
this worked for many others
Unlock the bootloader at HTCDEV
then from fastboot USB
Flash recovery TWRP 2.6.3.3
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then sideload this Rom to your phone
http://www.androidrevolution.org/downloader/download.php?file=Android_Revolution_HD-One_31.6.zip
TWRP / Advanced / ADB Sideload - swipe to sideload
From PC adb / fastboot folder
you use
adb sideload name-of-rom.zip
make sure the rom is in the same folder as adb / fastboot
now rumrunner should work
I used cleanrom 2.5 when i was on hboot 1.44 to s-off with revone
Code:
[LIST]
[*]Unlock the bootloader at HTCDEV
[*]Flash recovery TWRP 2.6.3.3
[*]Flash SuperSU
[*]Flash a rooted stock HTC Rom
[/LIST]
I have done exactly all the steps listed above (even before posting the thread), but not getting lucky at all. Have not found any Unsecured kernels downloads yet. Are there any available for Sense 4.1.2 - 4.2.2?
I can't find CleanROM 2.5 (AT&T) anywhere anymore. The dev links from scrolser are all dead. I've dug into and read the CleanROM thread posts in 2013 for mirrors, but there don't seem to be any.
The best I've found was that it was called "CleanROM 2.5.zip" and that's about it. If you've still got this rom on you somewhere could you be kind to upload it somewhere?
Tried out the older version of ARHD (31.6), an older version of Maximus HD, still getting similar results.
revone reports error = -1 or =-2 depending on rom, firewater and rumrunner still don't get any progress. I may just upgrade hboot to 1.54 and try again if I don't get any success on roms.

Please help me unroot my phone. I've been on here since 1 pm and its almost 6 pm, and no closer to solving my problem. I'm fed up with, "just follow this link and you'll get a solution" only to have more questions. or get to dead links. I need a step by step set of instructions. Please. Remember, this might be second nature/old school for you, but I've been on here coming on 5 hours reading thread after thread where each thread refers to each other in a freaken loop.
Ok
I have the HTC One M7
CID T-Mob010
getvar main 1.27.531.7 (The closest I found is 1.27.531.11, can I use it?)
I have no clue about update.zip files
I have no clue about recovery.img
I have no clue on firmware.zip.
I don't know where to find previous updates on the phone and can't find the system folder.
Oh, and as you may know, there may be no RUU for my phone.
And I don't have enough posts to respond to developer posts, so if you direct me to something like that, its useless for me.
I should say, I'm rooted, I ignored updates on my phone for a long time. And I want to unroot, so I can have a simple phone again. I keep getting prompted to upgrade to 1.27.531.8. And if I say yes, my phone goes to recovery screen, tells me it's updating, FOREVER. I have to wait for my phone battery to die before I can use it again.
I have the HTC All-in-One.
What do I do to unroot my phone please. Please... Please.

Assuming you are S-ON, you will need to perform the following:
You need ADB and FASTBOOT on your computer,
either by installing the Android SDK or Minimal ADB and FASTBOOT
You need to know how to start a fastboot/adb command prompt:
To open a command window prompt, in Windows go to Start Menu --> ''Run'' then type cmd. Change the directory to the ADB folder on your machine:
[*]If using the default install location for the SDK:
Code:
cd C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-<DATE>\sdk\platform-tools
[*]If using the default install location of Minimal ADB and FASTBOOT:
Code:
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot
[*]Or hold left shift + right click a blank space inside the folder where adb and fastboot are located and select ''Open command window here'' from the contextual menu.

Reboot your phone to the bootloader
Shut Down / Hold volume down + Power till you see the Bootloader screen
When in bootloader connect your phone to your PC you should see FASTBOOT USB
Now type in a command window:
Code:

With your bootloader locked you can now run the RUU's in order.
If you want to S-OFF, I would do it with the earlier RUU because the later RUU will require you to pay to achieve S-OFF.

Thank you for responding. Sorry for my delayed response, I work 2 jobs during the week and can only work on this during the weekend. I will post an update on Saturday. What is S-OFF? I've seen it. I know it's a setting. I can't recall what it stands for. Thank you.

S-ON is security on which will keep the user from corrupting the internal root folders. When you are S-OFF there is no security (security off) and the phone will not stop the user from corrupting the internal folders. You have to be very careful when updating firmware or RUU when you are S-OFF if you make a mistake it can brick your phone. With S-ON, it will keep you from installing the wrong firmware or RUU.

Unfortunately, Lollipop requires 6.xx framework. So you will need to run the RUU 6.10.531.10 first. Since you are S-ON your bootloader must be locked. Just follow the instructions on the download page.

Bootloader is locked.
So before you replied I ran the RUU updater for Lollipop. It detected the phone, and is now trying to update.. but it's just sitting at:
Updating.. (1/6) Sending...................
Updating the ROM image on your Android phone...
Please do not remove the USB connection from the Android phone or launch any programs duing the update process.
Remember, the operation will take about 10 minutes.
Says it will take 10 minutes, but it's been about 30+.
Kind of afraid to kill the update process at this point..
edit: OK unplugged the USB cable. Downloading the 4.4.3 RUU and will try it out.
But if a proper OTA update failed previously (way before I started unlocking, putting a custom recovery, etc), why would this work? I would always get the red exclamation mark when I tried doing the proper OTA update. :/

Oh.. it's because I tried to update to Lollipop first, isn't it...
hboot is now on 1.61.0000
if worse comes to worse, can I:
Unlock bootloader again
Flash TWRP
Find a flashable stock Lollipop ROM
Do you think that will work? And if so what do you recommend?

Just to make sure you can check fastboot getvar all to see if that is the case. If it is then you will need to gain S-OFF to downgrade your hboot so you can run the KK RUU successfully.
I am not sure that Sunshine S-OFF will work but it will tell you if it will before you pay.
The issue with flashing just the stock ROM, your firmware will be the old version and you can not upgrade it.
Hi
My fone htc one m8 es rooted and i want to go back my stock plz halp
I try rru img fil but error 130 bootloader also lock and (s-on )
Error 130 means you aren't using the right RUU. You have to use one that is specific to your carrier or region and must be the same version or newer. You can not downgrade while S-On.
htc on m8
I am use version4.28.502.1 dame error come
How i unroot my htc one m8 mey region asia
4.28.502.1 is the RUU you are trying to use? That appears to be one for ATT, which is an American cellular service provider. You should be able to find something here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
htc on m8 how unroot and delete supersu
how unroot and delete supersu i am not able to find my htc one m8 arabic version
I want to restore orignal stock 4.4.4 kitkat
I can't guess which update you need. Since you don't know, the best way is to boot to the bootloader and use fastboot (if you don't have it, Google : Minimal ADB and Fastboot). Once in bootloader use the terminal or command prompt to enter : fastboot getvar all. Copy and paste results here and leave out your IMEI and serial number for security's sake.

Like I said in my last post, you should not post your IMEI / serial number.
I believe this RUU should work and is Lollipop 5.0.2 https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934518148
You must relock your bootloader since you are S-On. In bootloader, use fastboot command: fastboot oem lock
How to s-off and plz tel me how to install ruu zip file
Thanks

S-Off might not be the best idea for someone who isn't comfortable with how to search for information on XDA or Google. Double click the RUU exe and follow directions. S-Off can be achieved with Sunshine. It is a paid app. There are no free solutions anymore.

Sorry, didn't realize it was actually the zip as most RUUs are exes. To load the RUU zips you have to boot to the special fastboot screen by using the command:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
then flash the rom zip like you were trying. It might fail after the bootloader, which is common, you just need to immediately redo the command and it should go through.
no dear same error
Is the zip in the same folder where you are running the commands?
Yas zip is same folder
I bought a phone on Internet, one day I was watching videos as usual, then It stopped, when I checked the wifi signal it was lost, then I turned it off/on but nothing happened, then I tried to reboot and it got stuck and started rebooting Indefinitely...

So, I thought it was sort of SO problem and I tried this posible solutions in the next order:
Got sure I had the prerequisites:
- Install HTC Synch / HTC USB Drivers
- Install ADB and Fastboot
1) Bootloader -> Recovery mode -> Whipe cache partition Didn't fix
2) Bootloader -> Recovery mode -> Whipe data/factory reset Didn't fix
Oh! and one more thing: when I start on recovery menu I saw some warnings at he bottom:
###
andle_cota_install: install cwpkg to /data/data/cwtemp/cwpg.zip
handle_cota_install: install cwprop to /data/data/cwtemp/cwprop
E:Fail to open file: /sys/devices/platform/android_usb/hostmode
Write host_mode error
hadle_cota_install: No CW files. Skip cw installation.

3) Download relevant RUU files Got errors 155,
Searched in http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html but there was no compatible RUU
I lost the link... but it was a .exe file not from HTC page
4) Downloaded ZIP files (according to my SO) to flash directly from External SD: Usually Package start checking and then I got errors like 19 RU_MAIN_VER_FAIL... or "E: footer is wrong" or "E: Signature verification failed",
