in the drivers folder there should be a program, install fastboot and flashmode drivers for Z2
Hello,
I am having some trouble flashing my Z2, I hope you can help me...
As you can see in the log below somethings get updated (confirmed in the service menu, Phone software V=1278-4770_23.1.A.28, file system V=global-lte_23.1.A.0.726). I have tried Sony's USB drivers and Flashtool drivers, 32/64 versions of flashtool itself (computer is 64 tho), also tried VodaUK and genericUK ftf (later is the one I want, both downloaded twice with Xperifirm), USB2 and USB3 ports... It always fails at the same point. After that the phone reboots into normal operating mode while still plugged (that's what you can see in the last entries).
I am uncheking all wipe options as i don't want to loose anything..

THanks for the quick reply! I am on Win7 x64.
Forgot to add as part of troubleshooting: ran flashtool as user and as admin, install drivers both as user and admin too..

You try using a different image? I can't imagine that'd be the problem, but for troubleshooting.
I'd also try a different cable and a different version of Flashtool.

nah! Same thing... :crying:
This time tried with different cable, same
Also tried .726, same.. however now system info shows .726 everywhere which I guess is a good thing.
As for previous Flashtool version I could only find .13 which did not appear to do anything. Is there a another version between .13 and .18?
Thanks for your help..

I don't know of .13, the only ones I know are .10, .11, .16, and .18, but you shouldn't need to worry about that too much I wouldn't think. I'd try flashing it on a different computer with a fresh install of the drivers. And be sure you're wiping all the right things too.
...erm
"wipe the right things"? I am certainly not wiping data, should I wipe others?
Try an earlier version of xperifirm, one that doesn't make xml files for flashtool.
Hi,
I've followed your suggestion, but in a slightly different way. Instead of using a previous version of Xperifirm, I did download the firmware directly from Flashtool and let it build the bundle. It worked!
Thanks for the help!
As pointed out, there must be something going on with the xml files done by Xperifirm.
Uncheck "Unknown" under partition list before you start flashing the stock ROM. The unknown partition includes a file named fwinfo.xml which isn't supposed to be there in the firmware bundle. Delete fwinfo.xml from the source folder before you build the ftf or uncheck unknown partition before flashing

Well... I've followed the guide below and the suggested previously
http://www.gizmobolt.com/2015/04/09...z3-23-1-a-0-690-ftf-using-flashtool-manually/
I tried to flash this device which is an imported model with my generic country firmware using flashtool, but there was an error and the process was aborted.

Edit: Didn't install the flashmode driver beforehand
Hello spent the whole try trying to get Flash tool program used with Sony phones in order to flash stock ftf for my phone since I've been having problems with it recently so I been trying to cleanly install stock rom then flash over that custom rom but everything when I install drivers before opening flashtool I get these errors

I run the driver setup for my Sony Xperia P while flash tool is either running or I run it before I open the program...and when I don't get the driver error I still get the loader.sin error.
Please if someone can help me solve this, I would appreciate it greatly!
Remove Ur phone from device manager and reinstall it and install Sony PC suite.
okay will try that, thanks.
I have used the instruction to come back to kittkat. The FTF bundle is SGP621_23.0.1.A.0.167_CE.ftf and flashtool ver. 0.9.18.6
but when the flashing starts I got error, here is the log:

dude I only know that I had successfully downgraded from LP to KK just from flashtool..(the best I did for this tablet) check if your ftf is corrupted.it happened also to me 2 times in my other mobile devices..
how can I check if it is corrupted ?
That was my fault. I only choose the "generic drive" after running flastool-drivers.exe -
the driver specific for Z3 Compact Tablet was needed (was at the end of the list)
Nevertheles, after first attempt the Flashtool did not start flashing but enter into MTP mode and install
the drivers for the tablet, as I suppose.
Only after the second attempt it started flashing.
Now is ok, I have KK again.
