I bought a mi pad 2 days back and downloaded half life 2,portal and other tegra games.however, these games require a controller to play.so I hooked up my USB controller but when I tried playing, only the d pad was working.I checked if controller was broken but it was working fine on emulators(fpse).so I tried connecting dualshock 2 controller but got the same problem.then I downloaded an app called gamepad, which gives you a floating on screen controller.it had a b x y buttons and it worked.I saw videos on YouTube and apparently people with Xbox or sixaxis controller are not getting any problem.probably these games are only sensitive to "a b x y" inputs?I know that if anyone can help me,its you guys.please help me connect my dualshock 2 controller as I already spent all I had saved on this pad.something like x360ce may work.or tell me an app that will give me onscreen controller with all buttons(start rt etc.) As the app imhave only provides a b x y and d pad.thanks a ton in advance.
did you try to Change the Input Settings inside the game? if not try that, if already and it doesn't work and your device is rooted get sixaxis app if you have ps3 Controller...otherwise you have to use an app which can remap any Controller...
i also think only dualshock 3 and up are working with android, aswell as xb360 Controller and up. all other Controllers below from sony and Microsoft don't have proper Driver to run on android
Is there an app which will give me on screen controller?(just like the app gamepad just with more buttons) or is there an app that can make my smartphone a controller?I don't have Xbox controller and I don't think I will be buying one anytime soon.
Not that I know, like I said, if you own a dualshock 3 and your device is rooted you can play over Bluetooth with sixaxis app.
Try to search on Google for such an app

so...i read on a bunch of forums that you can just plug and play a 360 controller to the prime's dock via usb to play games
i have tried with shadowgun thd and snesoid....a game and an emulator that i have seen work in other threads and neither acknowledge the controller
snesoid does acknowledge the controller when i try to map the keys and shadowgun just doesn't do anything...
so is there an app i need to make it so that the prime uses the controller? i'd love to get this going..
thanks!
Try out USB/BT joystick center in app store. I've seen others say it works great for mapping controls properly.
From my understanding you can only used the wired xbox controllers. You cannot use the plug and charge remotes.
Thanks...that's what I was using (plug and charge)...I'll look for the guides for using the controller wirelessly

You can use wireless controllers if you have the wireless receiver for PC/Windows. Plug that into the Prime and it detects wireless 360 controllers fine. Used it on mine with no problems.
Hey guys, I am considering 2 buy a new controller for my prime. i currently have a PC wireless xbox 360 controller, for this to work on the prime i need 2 use the usb dongle given 2 me when i purchased the controller. also Something is wrong with the probably my tabs understanding of this controller as when i use it in gta or whatever it thinks that the joystick is looking upwards(this does not happen on my desktop). Was wondering if any1 else had that problem.
Also reasons for considering changing is that I do not understand how I can map keys on my controller. there is only 1 app available for this(for the xbox 360 controller) called joy something if im not mistaken. If any1 knows of a tutorial of this I would be great full if you share it with me.
What controller does the trick for you on android devices(any links to it?)
thanx in advance guys
PS(has any1 got to play asphalt 7 with a controller? love racing games)
i'm using a ps3 controller, works perfectly with all supported games .
With the sixaxis app, you also can configure mappings for non-controllergames like Modern Combat 3

i tried the ps3 controller(snatched it off a friend but i was annoyed that I had to use the stupid wire:/) anything else working with sixaxis but not being a ps3 controller(its also expensive to buy 1:/)
You dont need to use the wire if you pair your controller with your tablet.
Yes u even can connect a ps3 controller to your Tablet without using the usb port on the dock. But you need the mac adress of the controller.
Here is a "How to" connect Ps3 controller without usb via bluetooth:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1503887
1. Installed the Sixaxis Controller app, opened it, and found the local bluetooth adress on the bottom-left of the screen.
2. Downloaded and installed Motionjoy Gamepad Tool on my computer.
3. Connected my ps3 controller to my computer using USB, and clicked "BluetoothPair", then "Custom MAC" on Motionjoy.
4. Entered my prime's bluetooth adress, and clicked "Pair Now".
5. Removed the usb cable and went back to my prime and changed input method to "Sixaxis Controller".
6. Clicked "start" and waited for it to say "Successfully Configered Bluetooth" on the sixaxis app.
7. Pressed the home botton on my ps3 controller and voila, it's connected!
Hi, anyone trying to play Shadowguneadzone with Sixaxis (PS3 controller, 4.1.2 rooted stock)? I play a lot with this combo on Nexus 7 (works great), but when I tried today (bought HDMI dongle - trying to play on TV), gamepad will disconnect as soon as I start game in deadzone (e.g. select deathmatch).
When I switch back to sixaxis and pair the gamepad again, the game restarts.
EDIT: My bad, got it working (I didn't have Sixaxis IME selected). And I'm too lame to know how to delete the thread.

Hi, i got and Galaxy S3 with no root.
I bought an fake PS3 controller that works directly with an OTG cable. It work very well and I can directly navigate and use it in games.
But with some games, i need to remap the controller to be able to play (for example the analog sticks). I downloaded USB/BT Joystick Center 6, but it dosent find the controller when i tap "search". I wonder if I need somehow disable the native support for the PS3 controller so the USB/BT app will recognize it? If so, how can i do that?

The only real games you can play will be native ones and emulators. Remapping the keys isn't going to work unless its an official ps3 controller and your using the six axis app. Then create some touch profiles.
USB joy center is best used for Xbox 360 controllers. I've never had to use anything else with my ps3 controllers besides six axis app.
Also did you buy the app? (I'm not accusing you either) the cracked version won't work properly.

How to Play Android Games with Xbox 360 Controller? I have USB OTG Cable and Wired Xbox 360 Controller not working on Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II, Gigabyte GSmart Roma R2 (Plus Edition) and Samsung I9000 Galaxy S.
I ran into a similar issue........
Not all games are external controller compatible........
At the very least you will need an app similar to sixaxis controller (this app is designed to work with ps3/4 pads) to act as interface between the game, device and pad. And IF you can find a suitable app, you'll need to configure the pad in order for it to work.
I only found out about all of this because I use ePSXe to play PS1 games on my phone......ePSXe allows you to configure a wired OTG pad within it's settings, but you're limited to playing only the games that work with the app (ripped PS1 isos). You'll need to research which 'interface' app will do the job.......i was hard pressed to find one.......

As I mentioned in my previous reply, you will need to configure (map) the pads buttons within the apps settings......and remember a lot of Android games simply won't accept an external controller.......
Also, don't forget that 'IME' part shown in the video........
Then it's just a case of trying it out with your chosen game to see if it works......
