Titanium Backup not seeing old backups - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hello everyone,
I'm hoping you can help me with an issue I'm having with Titanium Backup not being able to see old backups. I just reflashed stock de-odexed 5.0.1 using Flashfire. In Flashfire I set it to wipe 3rd party apps before flashing. The flash went fine and my phone went through the setup fine, and I chose not to restore all my app/setting from Google. All the TB backups were still on my SD card and I set the backup location in TB to the old directory on my SD card. But my problem is when I got to restore user apps in TB, it can't see any of the old backups in the TB directory on my SD card. Anyone else ever experience this? Did you find a way to fix it so TB could see all the old backups?
Thanks.
Eric

I'm guessing it's related to 5.0.1 not allowing access to your external SD card. Try running SD Fix, available in the app store. Be sure to reboot after you run the app. Hopefully, this will fix the problem!

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked into that, but it didn't fix anything.

I'm having this issue too, you're not alone. I recently flashed Hyperdrive RLS21 over stock rooted MJ7 and TB could not see my user apps backup on the external SD card... Very weird. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.

Upgrading, nandroid questions

Hello
I rooted my phone a while ago and has been running a rom happily. I have two sd cards so I decided to flash my phone with a new rom on my secondary sd card. I did a nandroid backup + ext first on my old sd card. Installing rom on new sd card went fine. But I lost all my contacts so I wanted to boot the old rom to sync wavesync. I did a restore but now the old rom doesn't boot anymore? Isn't that how nandroid is supposed to work.
Anyway back to the new rom again.
Secondly where are all the data for programs stored? I found andnav and another data folder for a program on the fat32 partition but when I copied them to my new sd card they are simply not recognized after I reinstalled the programs. It's the same version of the programs. And this is only two programs. Like does anyone know where abduction stores it's data?
Thanks in advance.
Have you added the ext partition to your new sd card?
Yes I have
Nandroid takes like a picture of your system at a certain time and then restores that exact picture when you run the restore.
What exactly is happening, did the restore say "successful"?
Yes it finished with no problem. How does everyone else upgrade to a new rom? I'm guessing that the application data is stored in /data/data somewhere?

that is correct. i don't really get what you want to do, if you want to upgrade just install the new rom. if you don't then don't. if you have a bootloop you can find the problem in logcat.
I want all my progress/high scores made to abduction to be there on my new rom
Also contacts would be nice, but I can dump/restore that now.

use titanium backup. you can aswell try to find the according files in /data/data, but titanium does the job for you and it works.
try flashing the boot.img for the backup your doing.I dont mean the nand backup boot.img i mean the original boot.img from the update.zip

[Q] No/ sdcard/ .android.secure found - Nandroid question

Installed Eugenes JI5 ROM. Created backup in Clockwork. Heres what happened:
backing up system
backing up data
backing up datadata
no/ sdcard/ .android.secure found
skipping backup of apps on ext. storage
backing up cache
no sd-ext found
skipping backup of sd-ext
generating md5 sum
backup complete
I assume this is just telling me its not backing up my external sd? Just want to make sure I will be able to restore this without any problems? Thanks.
That's what my backups say too. I think you are correct. Maybe thats for apps2sd which the vibrant doesn't support. That's what I always assumed.
Btw. My nandroids seem to work fine though.

I am getting that error message also. Seems to have started after I restored to a back up of my latest ROM (Nero V5).
Anyone have any other advice on this?

is for when you use the native app2sd function of Froyo and beyond to move your apps to the sdcard.
.androidsecure is where they go. As a side note, if you try to look at it in the ohone wth Root Explorer or ES, it will show up as empty. You have to look at it on your PC and make sure "show hidden file" is checked. Sucks that you can't see it on the phone but this has been a long time glitch and really a non-issue anyways since we have such a huge 2gb partition for apps anyways.

Bionix 1.2 and LauncherPRO issue?

I have LauncherPro PLUS
I'm trying to restore my backup from before and it says my SD Card cannot be readable. but other apps like titanium backup and files, music all can read my sd card
why is this happening and what can i do to fix it?
Thanks in advance
Edit:
Also its not just me, other people had this same problem.
aw common guys i need help.
bumpo
An interim solution would be to restore your LP settings through titanium backup. That has always worked for me.
But on another note, do you have your backup folder under SDcard or under external SDcard? I have my LP Plus backup under both directories just to make sure it's read. But anyhow, I still use titanium backup in restoring my settings

Questing about restoring app + data from external SD

Hi,
I've looked around, but noone had same problem as me.
I have Titanium Backup, and i did a backup on my 34 apps to my externals SD. Today i installed new ROM so i wanted to restore these apps, but titanium can't do this.
This is how i do:
1. I went in to Preferences --> restoration settings --> "Restore backups to..." and there is choosed "external media".
2. I went back to first screen --> batch---> restore , but there's no apps there at all.
Please help.
Sounds like you didn't backup your SD card which contains the Titanium backups you have made before installing the new rom. Your new ROM may have formatted your SD card, am I correct?

No, all the files are at the SD card, i made a map called "titanium backup" where i placed all the backups, and they're still there. But titanium wont restore these.
Pretty lame, i bought the pro version for the "single click" function, meaning restore everything in single click, but it's useless if i can't save these to SD card.
Edit: I tried move the entire folder to internal SD, but same, titanium wont recognize anything.

Oh ok, try checking the file sizes of the backup and let me know.
Check TB preferences for backup location, and scan the entire device it should locate the folder with your backups.
And from then on that will be your backup folder.

Thanks i managed to solve this now, and now TB can find those apps, but when i press begin and it begins to restoring, nothing happens, it stuck at 0%, does this happend to you to when you use your external SD to restore?
I've tried 3 times now, and it allways stuck at 0%.
Edit: i moved the folder to Phones internal memory, but same, it wont load my backups.
What could be the problem?
I had this problem once too.
copy the folder with the TB backups to our PC and formate the sd card. additionally I reinstalled the whole rom too. And after that try again. It worked for me.

Apps in Titanium have disappeared

Installed Titanium and Pro version yesterday morning and had no issues. Froze a few apps that I didn't use, nothing out of the norm. Installed an SD card, 16gb, it was blank and recently formatted. Last night, I noticed that when I open Titanium and press Batch or Backup/Restore, everything is blank, there are no apps there. If I go into menu and refresh apps, it says there are 233 apps loaded, but I can't see them. If I uninstall Titanium and reinstall it, I can see the apps for about 15 minutes, then they disappear again. Any ideas?

I don't have anything specific, but:
1. Did you reset your backup directory when you put the new SD card in?
2. Is your SD Card still write enabled. TiBu gave me some problems before I enable apps to write to the SD card. TiBU has been solid for me.
When I first set up my LG G3 I tried copying over the Titanium Backup data from my previous phone and restore some programs and program data that way but I also ran into problems with not all of the programs and data showing up. I don't know if it could be fixed. After it didn't work I purchased Helium Backup and it has worked very well to transfer apps and/or app data from my previous phone via Dropbox to the new phone.

I am not sure how to reset my backup directory, can you please explain that? My SD card is still write enabled, I took a picture and it did write it to the SD card.
Thank you for responding.

I was referring to the backup folder location. It sounded like you may have swapped the SD card and was thinking that it may be pointing to a location on the old card that isn't on the new card.

in TIBU settings, preferences, backup folder location detect, whole device and it should find everything
Set the back up directory to where ever you copied your data by:
Menu-Preferences-Backup Folder Location
I did that when setting up mine and did have problems. Some apps worked fine and others didn't. I wonder if it has anything to do with apps which installed from the play store before I tried a restore with Titanium Backup. I tried a couple of times to recopy the data to the LG G3 and set the backup directory and when I still had problems went to Helium. Maybe I could have gotten to work if I hadn't given up relatively quickly.
Titanium Backup has been working well for backing up programs after setting up the LG G3. The only problem I'm having is that there is a program which I prefer an older version of to the current version. I keep detaching the program from the market with Titanium Backup but every couple of days the link gets reestablished and I'm prompted to update the program.

It's saying nothing is detected, but now everything is showing up again. It's very odd. Thanks, hopefully that fixed it.
