Need big help guys - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi . so recently I updated my moto e to 5.1 ota . I unlocked the bootloader , I rooted it , I did factory reset , installed everything I need , bought Sony 16 gb SD card , Sony headphones and I am almost ready to go . now guys I need someone to tell me how exactly link2sd works, how to make partitions in SD to work . then tell me if but if really cm12.1 is better then ota 5.1 (not assuming low memory on ota as a con) and guide me thru kernel stuff why and why not , how to and which one . I only need to know these things so I can fully enjoy my lovely phone , play huge games and ofc not worry about memory msg. Hope someone will help me on these q.
Thanks in advance , sorry for my bad English and have a nice day :*

Hello There, would you be so kind enough to tell that which version of twrp recovery you used? And did you used mfastboot or minimal adb and fastboot to flash it?, (it's ok your English is good )

Twrp is 2.7.2.0_v2.2 . I used minimal software on PC to do this

Any answers ????

Hello, u can follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142844 to partition link2sd,advantage and how to of link2sd you can found it in App description in playstore, that guide says partition to ext2 but you make it to ex4 (that guide is old that's why), CM12.1 is tooo good on Gaming performance, stock ROM is not utilizing full power of Hardware, stock ROM even cant play 1080p videos, only bug there's in CM and cm based ROMs is Call delay, i hope that get fixes soon. And for kernel, use Clarity Kernel for. Best performance on gaming

Tnh fof your help . tyy

Its not a custom firmware, but a tweaked kernel. Think of it as someone took the stock Archos OS and added/changed a bunch of the basic guts of it. Its based on the original system, but has improvements and changes Archos would never release.
It is possible to install on the internal memory. There is a thread dedicated to it in the development subforum.
I've used the overclock kernel but had some issues - namely the screen wouldn't turn back on after waking it from sleep. With overclocking each tablet is unique, so mine is probably unstable where others would work just fine. Honestly, once you have it running on the internal memory its slick enough you don't need to worry about overclocking at this stage.
Good luck.
Do you lose the warranty when you use the Urukdroid? It seems to me it is a stable system then, but I don't want to lose my warranty...
To install Uruk you need to install the SDE, which automatically voids the warranty.

Thanks mate for the reply, yeah i had the same trouble with oc 1280 kernel. however, Some one suggested that by callibrating the screen through repair menu at start up,it fixed that problem. another quick question, how would you go on installing it on internal memory, was'nt able to find thread regarding it. personally, i like oc kernel coz its pretty fast as compared to uruk..Thaks
Hi you all!
I've just installed the Uruk 0.6 for the frist time from a new full installation!
I've got a couple of little problem (my English is really horrible!... in reading too!!!!) now I'me a happy Uruk-user
I found HERE the full process to flash the Uruk on the internal Flash memory... but I'm too newbee with Linux bash, so I'll await a new Uruk relese with a full installer.
For the overclock kerel I found THIS tread written by ardatdat where you can find many overclock Kernel... it seems simple ti install! If I well understand, I will flash the only "zImage" by SDE... is it correct? the fix04 more exactly which seems fully function with Uruk... I'll try it!
And, finally, many tanks to $aur0n for this great work! really many tanks!
see you all!

Start with a ROM of your choice, just pick one you'd like to try and test it out. If you don't like it try another one out.
*Repeat untill your phone dies

Hi Vinay, Post ur questions in Q & A forum. Ok the difference between custom and official ROM is u ll get ROOT access, many mod from official. Moreover check the caution lines before flashing any ROM.. Watch some videos on flashing ROMs. Also always a copy of main original official ROM..
and a nandroid backup would be also useful just in case something goes wrong
Hi!
Custom rom made by developers that can be from stock (samsung) basis or aosp/aokp (google) basis according to what the devs wants and need, so you need to know about what features and themes are included in the rom so that it would match your preferences. There's sure are a lotta rom out there to try. Be sure to flash only rom that made for your phone and made a backup just in case..
Happy flashing!

Hi to all and thank you for helping me.
The big trouble is that i led my phone in to strange state where only triangle appears and logo of samgung and gets stuck in that state ;after downloading some wrong ROM, my mobile got to this state , now i want to get back in order to wakeup my mobile and brings it too original state as pervious , also to inform you that the mobile was locked to local operator and i tried to unblock and i did mistake .
I just want to have brief guide to how to start as there are many information in this forum and i dont know which tutorial should i base ON.
Basically i just want to know which ROM should i take and procedures in order to install the correct ROM in correct way. I allready has the ODIN installed in my PC and at the moment i can navegate in my phone by Clockworkmode but i dont know what i should do after that , i do know that i can put the ROM in SD Card and try to force the mobile but first i would like to have exprties opinion on this matter, PLEASE.
Regards
Vinay
Well basically if you want to restore to original state, you have to flash the stock rom for your phone or the backup you made before (which I assume you didn't made it). Try to find the stock firmware/rom for your phone version/country/region on sammobile and flash it using odin (put your phone to download mode first). Hope it helps..
P.s: don't worry about the yellow triangle thing, it'll disappear after you flashed the stock..

Ok ;i understood but if i dont want to go back or lets say if i want to root and unblock without original stock ROM what procedure should i do , please.
I am also having difficulties finding the best ROMS for mobile S2 GALAXY where i should find them , please.
Best Regards
Vinay Navinchandra
Dont mention "best rom" since its against the rules.Youll get a warning and your/this thread locked.
Yeah, it's a matter of preferences if you talked about what best so browsing around and try for yourself..
Some custom rom got pre-rooted, and some need to be rooted first or even not at all. There's lotta method to root sgs2 and it's not hard at all, just google it and you'll get it..

Problems rooting the official JB

Hello everyone!
First of all , I wanna say hi to all the Desire X community members! I will be sticking around here for a while from now on =D (coming from the SGM2 forums) .
Now for the problem :
Yesterday I bought a brand new HTC Desire X , and since I wanted to get rid of some of the bloatware it came with , I decided to root it .
But before doing anything funny with it , I've updated it to the latest available OTA , which is running 4.1.1 JB (it came with ICS) . After that , I managed to unlock the bootloader , I flashed this recovery and I tried flashing SU from it (the 3.1.3 arm signed one) . Everything seemed to have gone fine , the app was installed , but unfortunately when entering it , it says the su binary is outdated or something like that . Also , no apps can gain root access . I then uninstalled it and flashed the latest version of SuperSU , but again , this one was saying my phone is missing the su binary . I also tried SU 3.2 and the Play Store version of SuperSU , but the same problem occured unfortunately .
I've read all the major guides on the forums but have seen no one having this problem . Should I have rooted it while on ICS ? And if yes , can I keep the root after updating to JB ?
Thanks for your help and have a good day!

Haha , worked like a charm , thanks alot!
I was really looking for a TWRP version for JB Desire X .
Also , didn't know you need different recoveries for different OS versions - I'm comming from the simplicity of a low-end Samsung phone so yea xD Thanks for the tip mate ! ^^ .

It's because the 4.1 partition table is different, the recovery doesn't know where /system is...

[ P780 03-2014 >+ ] Custom Recovery and repartition ?

Hi all,
I'm one of the people that have the P780 made after 03 2014 by now we know we have to use the special bootloader with the flashtools and all is working fine etc. We can also replace the recovery with a custom one but for me it will not work as it suppose to work. So installing a custom recovery isn't worth it.
But now i'm wondering is there anybody out there that has a working custom recovery on a P780 later then 03 2014 ?
And did anybody repartitioned their phone space on a model later then 03 2014 ? Mine is complaining about space on the phone memory. I already copied almost every app to the memory card. But after the 4.4.2 update the phone memory is 1,02 gb free and it's just sitting there doing nothing
Maybe we could start a thread specially for the 03-2014 >+ models and if we got custom recovery working ? and there is a rom builder with some spare time he/she could make the 03-2014 >+ roms without the need to replace the bootloader.

Hi,
Sorry for my late answer I have a 4GB version. And I know that we can install custom recoveries but they are kind of useless (for me it is) if we cannot flash roms trough them. I saw you are using the vibe2 rom from needrom also. I think it's one of the best roms we can have for this phone but i would like to try others also. Is there a way we could flash roms on the after 032014 phones that are made for custom recovery ? because we need the special preloader for our roms.
I'm not a rom chef at all but if there is an easy way to convert all the roms for phones made after 032014 I would be gladly helping to change them.
BTW stympy you are the Lenovo p780 goeroe ... they should make you the moderator here .. Thank you for all the effort you put in this phones forum

Hi there! Lets understand one thing: there is no problem flashing custom zip roms from custom recovery, even if you have the phone produced after 03.2014. Zip roms are not afecting the preloader, only the ones who must me flashed from PC. Sooo.. in the conclusion you can flash zip files with no wories.
Oh... and one more think: with custom recovery you can backup your full ROM and restore if something goes wrong, flash new apk directly to your system, flash new modem software, root your system and more... In my opinion this is the best think ever if you want to escape the stock rom provided by your phone producer.
Soo good luck on flashing zip files from custom recovery. :good:
