Currently on 5.0/DOB1, how do I flash AOSP? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

I am currently on modified stock 5.0/DOB1. I want to flash AOSP. Are there any special steps I need to take before doing so?
Do current AOSP ROMs support camera to sdcard?

Android 1.5 Stock ROM

I am looking for a stock Android ROM only with no modified files and no HTC sense. Is there such a thing? I have had a look at some of the modified ROMS but if possible I would like one that is stock! Thanks.

[Q] G1 Froyo AOSP building

I am going to build FroYo from Google's AOSP trunk, without any modification. I've read that CM6 proprietary binaries won't work well, so I grabbed them from HTC Developer, with the OTA image, to use unzip-files.sh.
Then, after unzipping, I only want to get a working AOSP, without any extended feature, like new kernel, or something.
Q1. Do I need to modify anything else?
Q2. Is it possible to create an update.zip with the AOSP building tools? I don't want to build CM6, but a totally AOSP-FroYo FroYo
I've read that the Sapphire needs some tweaking to get AOSP FroYo up and running, maybe the G1 needs some too?

[Q] fully working camera with custom kernal

why is it that i can't find any roms that have both a custom kernal and a fully working camera. Also, why do none of the new roms (since 2.3.3) have custom kernals?

Click to collapse
custom kernel require a module to be compiled against the existing kernel and hence people are not able to provide custom kernel till we get source code from SE.

No, it is not possible to install ICS on the Explorer, via official or custom ROMs. The internal storage requirements have increased for ICS from GB, and the Explorer no longer meets those requirements. If a custom ROM were to be created, it would/will have to have many features/components removed to streamline the OS for the lower storage available. However, at this point there is no AOSP compliant kernel available for the Explorer, meaning AOSP ROMs (such as ICS) and AOSP based ROMs (such as CyanogenMod, AOKP or SlimDroid) cannot be created. The only custom ROMs currently possible are modifications of the stock ROM, such as JaggyRom, linked in the post above.

What makes smartphone know a COOK ROM?

Hi,
What different between COOK ROM and STOCK ROM?
My phone runs android 4.0.4.
How can my phone recognize a COOK ROM or a STOCK ROM?
Thanks!
Well, from my understanding a "Cook ROM" is based off of AOSP code or something else (So AOKP, AOSP, CM10, etc.) and is actually built in Linux... a stock ROM is something that comes from the manufacturer (it could be modified by developers, but it's usually the ROM that comes in the phone or based on that).
So if you're using a Nexus device, you probably mainly have cooked ROMs and ports as from my understanding, those phones are built from source and have no extra things such as manufacturer overlays. If you have, let's say, a Galaxy S3, you'll have both (Samsung stock ROMs and AOSP cooked ROMs).
But that's just how I interpret it, might be wrong c;
