someone want to test? - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If anyone wants to test this Qualcomm band unlock procedure that has an xt1526 sprint version, here it is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/unlock-bands-qualcomm-device-phone-t2880239
To my understanding, this would work because this phone has a gsm radio, it just doesn't have the proper bands to operate on other carriers. And yes, I have the spc/msl code, in case anybody is wondering. (For the xt1526 sprint version).

Does this work for xt1529 also if so i would like to test

[Q] i9100 on aws 1700/2100?

Can you modify the S2 i9100 to work with Wind/Mobilicity in Canada?
No. It's a hardware problem. The phone is incapable of receiving one of the frequencies. AWS requires both to work.

I should clarify. The phone will work on that network; it just won't get anything better than Edge data speeds for mobile data on any network that only uses the AWS band for mobile data.

[Q] Prepaid Sprint XT1526 on Ting?

Hi, all!
I'm curious about whether I can use the prepaid Spring XT1526 on Ting. Has anyone had experience with this? Would I need a Ting SIM card, or would I need to unlock the phone?
Thanks in advance for your help!
If it's a Sprint device, it probably won't pass the financial eligibility check unless it's been active a year. That'll keep you from activating it on Ting CDMA. Now, if you unlock it and get a regular GSM SIM to work in it, you can use Ting GSM.

My prepaid Moto E cannot be activated on Ting. Some of them can be activated on RingPlus, but you should type the IMEI in the FEC checker before you buy b/c not all can. Not sure why some work and some don't.
That I'm not sure about. I've taken a Verizon E LTE and used the Network app to make it work with T-Mobile, but have not purchased a Sprint model.

LTE - derp?

GSM Arena for Blu VIVO 5: "4G bands LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 7(2600)"
???
I think I'm getting LTE!
Ive been playing with the phone for two days now, I'm pretty sure im picking up LTE, the signal strength is real strong and the phone is super fast! We just need a custom recovery and i think this phone is a hit already especially for the price range.

Before rooting the device i advise to do the network update first, i rooted using King Root and now i can't update the network even after removal of root& King Root app! I haven't tried a factory reset yet.

International vs usa

What is the difference between the US and Intl version, especially since you can flash the firmwares from any country?
The US one has the fingerprint sensor disabled while the others don't.

Also it's optimised for the carriers and network operators of USA (which might be important for some)

Yes but you can activate the fingerprint sensor by flashing another firmware. Also what 'optimizations' are you suggesting exist since both support band 12 on T-Mobile and neither support wifi calling or volte or HD calling?
It's simply a software difference.
So why do they have a different model number?
There are differences in the frequency bands. Plus, some firmwares do support voLTE. And yes the fingerprint sensor can be activated by flashing a different firmware
You are telling me there is a way to get T-Mobile volte working? Which firmwares?
Not sure about T-mobile VoLTE but VoLTE in general. I'm not exactly sure. I've read a few posts here on xda that say so. Don't take my word for granted though

Unlocked Galaxy S9 Plus direct from Samsung vs T-Mobile US brand

Hello all,
I know that the phones are advertised as 64GB Internal Storage units. For each specific units, Samsung Unlocked and T-Mobile US, I have some questions.
How much Available Space is for the user? The default Used Space? And the System Memory space used?
What about WiFi calling support? Does the Samsung unlocked version support it?
Screenshots if possible please! Thanks!
i have the samsung unlocked one, and 2 things i have noticed so far.
1. no wifi calling
2. i have spotty coverage, places i get service with my tmobile note 8, i get fewer bars with the unlocked s9 plus

quick update, it does have wifi calling...
i just enabled it, it has now moved it phone setting and not in general settings

spotty coverage can be explain if you call your carrier and have them your EMIE register..etc...something like that...I had same issue with AT&T because I was using unlocked Samsung and never bothered to call AT&T, but after they added my unlocked phone to their system, it got much better....there's something about SIM....
The most annoying thing for me is how it won't automatically switch from roaming back to T-Mobile when I travel in and out of roaming zones. I can confirm that Band 71 works with the unlocked version! I traveled last night across US 2 and US 52 in North Dakota. I hit Band 71 in Kemmare, and had it to the Canadian border.
