[1.127.0827] New version of Gear Fit Manager! - Samsung Gear Fit

I had installed version 1.117 from Galaxy Apps repository and it worked perfectly (except S Health sync) on my GT-I9000 with CM11 and build.prop modified with S4 data. But now a notification shows up telling I need to update to 1.127, but this new version doesn't work, probably due to Touchwiz dependencies (an error related to CSCFeatures class is shown in logcat). My Gear Fit firmware version is R350XXU0BOA2
Can anyone patch this last version (1.127.0827) for non samsung mobiles (touchwiz free)? Hopefully this new version could work with new S Health (now available in Google Play).
Ok, below it is available to download my first attempt to do this.
You can download the official apk from Samsung repository:
http://dvnhhc4qeiohk.cloudfront.net/221015/GearFitManager_OA2_1.127.0827_USER.apk
Got from JSON response:
Code:
http://wearable.samsungapps.com/update/check?mcc=222&mnc=01&fitCsc=ITV&mgrCsc=NEE&fitDeviceId=SM-R350&mgrDeviceId=SM-G900F&fitVersion=simonepsp&mgrVersion=1210&fitDevUniqueId=TEST&mgrDevUniqueId=000000000000000&langCode=it&localeCode=it-IT&firmwareFileName=UPDATEMODE_R350XXU0BOA2_R350XXU0BOA2.tar&minSdk=17&targetSdk=19
** New Features **
Better stability with S Health (Heart rate, Cycling, Podometer,etc...)
Modified some settings in blocking mode
Thanks!

Just a heads up this version doesnt work for me with S4 Active and Gear Fit. Gear Fit just constantly tries to reconnect/disconnect from phone and triggered my gear fit to crash. I had to then use Odin to reinstall the R350XXU0BOA2 OS back onto the gear fit, then uninstall gear fit manager and go back to GearFitManager_NE5_1.70.0617_USER to get it to work again.

Can you sync with new S Health using GearFitManager_NE5_1.70.0617_USER version?

I tried it and unfortunately didnt work. Had to roll back S Health to the original version to get it to work. Hopefully Samsung provides a patch to fix this bug in their Gear Fit Manager, really annoying...

So, just to have all the info about your working environment, what version of S Health are you using with Gear Fit Manager 1.70 to sync?
Thanks!

Gear Fit Manager 1.127 apk modified for non samsung (touchwiz free)
Ok, I've managed to modify the original apk in order to remove CSCFeatures dependencies and now it works on my Galaxy S with CM11 (S5 build.prop). However the syncing problem with latest S Health is still present...
I attach the new apk in case you want you try it.

But APP connect works?

Hey everyone, I have a Nexus 6 running Marshmallow and got a Gear Fit for my birthday. I was wondering if I could get some advice on getting this working? From what I understand I need to install the GearFitManager_OA2_1.127.0827_USER_eTaTuS.apk on my phone, but do I need to edit the buildprop? Is there anything else I need to do? I appreciate any help you can give.

This version (1.127.0827) certainly seems not to like my T-Mobile Note 4 running 5.0.1 (PopRocks V15XxXR build). My brand new Gear Fit simply won't pair with it at all. When I try to pair the Fit to the phone, it fails. Error message on the phone says "Incorrect PIN or password." Which is weird, because the PIN shown on both devices is the same.
Does this simply not work at all on rooted phones? Or should I start trying various versions, downgrading until I stumble on one that works?

False alarm! Total user error here. When the Fit would prompt for connection, I was pressing the back arrow button rather than the orange check mark. Once I figured out my stupid mistake, the Fit connected immediately and is now operating as expected. Grrrrr I feel like a moron

I also have a nexus 6 running Android 6.0 and every version of gear fit mgr I've installed force closes immediately. Any help would be appreciated greatly

master hint, use a samsung phone, i had no success with my nexus.
Now I´m back on my S4 (Imperium LL ROM v11.0 - Android 5.0.1 ) and I downloaded the version from the first post and it worked like a charm. Connection works, notification pops up, great!

Hello, after many unsuccessful attempts I managed to load Android 4.4.4 Cyanogenmode 11 in my Galaxy S i9000. The final goal is to connect Gear Fit to this phone. I downloaded different versions of Gear fit Manager, but all of them fail to connect to Gear Fit. As I understand reading your post, is that I have to change also something in the file build.prop Unfortunately I cannot find any useful information. Can you please explain me what to do, send me the file or give me some advice? Thank you

Thank you for your answer.
I installed that update with number ...27... for Gear Fit Manager. I also modified a few lines in build.prop with the exact words like in your example. Even if the lines in my file weren't in the same order like in your file, I identified them and changed everything to match your file.
After this the behavior changed when connecting the Gear Fit. the program in the phone does not give errors anymore, but it cannot connect to Gear Fit. After waiting for about 2 minutes, Gear Fit tells me it cannot connect, even if the program in the phone still searches.
Any suggestions for me?
Thank you.

Thank you, finally Gear Fit is connected to the phone, using the Gear Fit Manager you recommended. I remains the final step, but the most important, transferring the data to a fitness program. Any suggestions for a S-Health variant to work on a rooted phone with cyanogenmode?

Mine displays Arabic out of the box...
Edit: Wait, I take that back. It displays the characters but in right to left, rather than left to right as they should be.
The letters need to be connected too.
any arabic for this
arabic support
Go to the market and look for Arabic browser, its the second one, its a patch you can apply it in your phone, you phone has to be root.
Any Arabic for this yet that i could flash with odin???

Thank you, I rooted my phone and tried the Arabic browser, finally I can read Arabic on my note I717.
Also, if you want to be able to type in Arabic, SwiftKey X supports it and a long list of other languages. I use it for typing things in German. Sadly you just missed the 49 cent sale that was going on.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS50b3VjaHR5cGUuc3dpZnRrZXkiXQ..
until we get a real solution you can use Opera mini which i am using now and it displays arabic pages correctly. i think normal Opera will work too but i haven't tried it.
for the keyboard i am using miltiling keyboard, it is free and support arabic. it will allow you to type in arabic and there is an option to make it connect the letters for you but it may not display correctly for iphone users (which we don't care for anyway lol)
Here is a test using that keyboard:
ﺍﺧﺘﺒﺎﺭ ﺍﻟﻜﺘﺎﺑﺔ ﺑﺎﻟﻌﺮﺑﻲ ﻓﻲ ﺟﻬﺎﺯ ﻗﺎﻟﻜﺴﻲ ﻧﻮﺕ ﻏﻴﺮ ﻣﻌﺮﺏ
sent from my Galaxy Note (stock rom, and not rooted yet)
Ok, i got a solution. not very straight forward but it works. and you need "root"
There are two solutions:
1- The first thing you need to do is deodex your rom or get one that is already deodexed like TPC rom here
Then use the patching script made by madmack from here
This script should patch these files:
framework.jar
libandroid_runtime.so
libicuuc-arabic.so
libwebcore.so
which will fix Arabic for every thing, i used the latest patcher 0.907 which now works for the Galaxy Note.
anyway, you can copy these files over to your phone "fix the user owner and permission" or use the zip file that was also generated by the patching script and flash it using CWM recovery. I attached the file i generated using my stock and deodexed rom it should work for you as well if you have the same phone and same rom (Stock 2.3.6).
Reboot and clean the cache and dalvik cache.
Now browser, gmail, twitter, whatsapp, facebook...etc should show the arabic correctly.
2- Fixing the browser and gmail only: this is easier and doesn't need deodex (since it patches lib files only) but it still need root and will not fix twitter, whatsapp and the other applications.
This fix also uses madmack patch.
The fix is here
or you can go directly to the android market "Google Play" and install the patcher, it is very easy and will patch the file with a single click from your phone
Thanks to madmack and brightidea and anyone who made this possible.
This is for AT&T Galaxy Note only (i717) (2.3.6) the same process should work for other phones as well, but the attached files will only work with this phone.
Thanks for all the info man. Have you tested this method thoroughly? No bugs or errors here or there? I'm still considering whether I should get it now or wait till ICS then look for a solution after that lol

1- What ROM are you running now on your phone?
2- Is it deodex?
3- Have you installed a recovery tool other than the default? (like CWM, or TWRP)
* if you don't know what these means then i would recommend that you search for those terms and learn about them before you start doing stuff to your phone or you might end up with a bricked device.

1- I am not running any ROM except when I open ROM manager
I have this called Flash ClockworkMod Recovery above (reboot into recovery)
when I click on it, it shows list of phone types such as (commtiva Z71, Dell Streak, Geeksphone ONE, Samsung Epic4G, Samsung galaxy i9000, Samsung T-mobile Galaxy s2.........etc)
2- I have no clue what deodex is but I think not.
3- I honestly did not install any of these recovery.
Yes I have no idea about those terms and I wish someone can do a video to install arabic from scratch on Youtube. I have looked around but I couldn't find anything for Samsung Galaxy note I717 AT&T.
I appreciate your comments here fduraibi

[Q] Samsung Dive dependancies for ICS roms?

I am trying to get Samsung Dive working on my phone but I think the rom developer removed some files since settings just crashes when attempting to turn it on, so I want to replace them.
According to a old list the four apks needed are
IMEITracker.apk
signin.apk
MobileTrackerEngineTwo.apk
syncmldm.apk
Of these the last two are still around on my rom but I can't find the first two anywhere even in the stock samsung LPQ firmware files which I extracted on my computer, so I assume they are depreceated.
Does anyone know what else I need to get Dive to work? I am unable to use any SMS controlled tracking software due to other software choices I have made so this is important to me.
I finally figured it out by doing a diff on the list of apks from the stock firmware and my chosen rom and getting a short list of removed apks led me to the only one that sounded like a option and it worked.
For anyone else looking I only had to replace Samsungservice.apk and Dive started working great.
mine.still does't work after i put the mobiletrackengine.apk and samsungservice.apk can you list what do you have in system/app
I've added those Samsung prerequisites but when I try to enable Remote Control the small popup comes and says: Register Google account first.
But I have already google account (and samsung account) in Accounts and sync.
Do you know what that means?
I used to have Samsung dive on gingerbread and it worked.
Hi guys,
As far as I know you need "SevenEngine.apk" & "SyncmlDM.apk". It took me ages to figure out.
I hope this helps
Ok, I've installed all apks you mentioned, then remove and add google and samsung account and it seems to work but I can't connect through samsung dive. I've tried with different internet connection..
Hi, I've the same error, I only have tu push samsungservices.apk and I can log in into my samsung account, but in samsungdive, no service can connect, nor location either call logs.
Can anyone upload these files?
Thanks!

Any further advancements on the requirements of what is needed to get tracking set up. I am making sure this works after my SGS1 got stolen. On SGS2 now with custom ROM, but went to the trouble of downloading stock firmware and deodexing entire ROM to make SURE this works.
Anyone know what the gingerbread mobiltrackerUI.apk did? I have included that in my ROM as well to see if that will make any difference?

[Q] Galaxy Gear barely works with Original Note

Has anyone tried to sync a galaxy gear watch with the original galaxy note? I'd consider picking one up if I knew it would work.
I've searched and can only find people with S4's, Mega's, and Note 3's that report it working on.
Edit..... I received an galaxy gear for xmas. I got it to sync with the original note. I can receive calls and make them, music plays and changes tracks, weather doesn't work for me, Svoice doesn't work for me (yes it's installed on 4.1.2 touchwiz rooted rom), and this watch drains the battery like no other!!!! Probably because it requires bluetooth 4.0 otherwise known as Bluetooth Low Energy. The original note only has 3.0 and I'm guessing by me syncing with 4.0 it's like I'm talking on a bluetooth earpiece constantly.

What rom are you trying to install gear manager on? I can install gear manager and sync on the stock 4.1.2. I can install Svoice and it works on the phone, but not the watch. I keep getting an "you need to agree to samsungs disclaimer on the device" error. I got the samsung apps ver 4.01.015.0 installed but it opens and doesn't connect to anything.
To install gear manager on the stock 4.1.2 release install this apk like any regular app. Notifications, Weather, Svoice, and some other features aren't working.
To install gear manager on custom roms it varies. Some require pushing gearmanagerstub.apk to system file, then installing gear manager ver 1.something I've been following a lot of the threads and some versions that work with a 4.3 rom don't work with a 4.4 rom and so forth. You can try some releases located here that Omniwolf and Brendo have been keeping up to date. If you get it up and running, let me know what rom, gearmanager version, and how so I can update the original post. If you can't get anything rolling, let me know what rom you're having difficulty with and I'll try over the weekend.

You can try some releases located here that Omniwolf and Brendo have been keeping up to date. If you get it up and running, let me know what rom, gearmanager version, and how so I can update the original post. If you can't get anything rolling, let me know what rom you're having difficulty with and I'll try over the weekend.

Here's what I did:
Followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2562997
One exception is that for step #1 to update the firmware follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539082
Then move on to Post #3 in the first thread mentioned and follow it on down.
Only thing I haven't been able to get working is Gear Manager. When I install the stub apk and then follow the instructions to extract the apk's from the gear manager install I get as far as Gear Manager telling me there is no backup and that it will reset the gear...which it does factory reset the rom.
I'm using the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518785 rom (P12).
All of this makes everything work flawlessly (battery/internet/etc) with the exception of notifications. For notifications I'm trying to get Gear Manager to work so that I can use ATN manager. Seems like the most battery friendly way.
I did find one other way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597260 battery stats weren't definitive though at the time. Edit: Unreliable notifications so far.
Edit again: Nope - notifications actually work very well after rebooting both devices. Now just to figure out how to access notification history.

[/COLOR]Oh - I got the idea to extract the APK's for Gear Manager in KitKat (4.4.2) here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596455
Got me farther than before but not far enough to get Gear Manager working.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Debloat AT&T No Root Required [Package Disabler Pro]

BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD PACKAGE DISABLER PRO. Hello people on xda forums, this is my updated thread on removing bloatware from the att branded galaxy s7 on att running Android Nougat. I am not responsible for damage done to your device if it bricks don't come to me to fix it. Download package disabler pro and download the Samsung pay version if you want to keep Samsung pay download the gear vr version if you want the gear vr download plus if you want both of them and download standard if you want all of the Samsung pay and gear vr services disabled after that wipe cache partition in recovery mode and you are done
I forgot to attach the files you need, here you go. the difference between the standard and plus is that you get Samsung/Android pay and the gear vr services all enabled with plus.
Thanks for providing guidance, but can you please shed details what are the required steps to debloat.

OK I fixed the post made it a little cleaner and shorter with more detail
still makes no sense to me lol..
@loganbeck14 Are we suppose to import the files somewhere? Are we supposed to copy the data inside of the .xml files somewhere? Give us a guide on how to implement these changes.
Ok once you have package disabler pro installed follow the pictures below
After having ran this script, I noticed a slight increase in performance. Since I'm running Nova launcher, I decided to also disable all of the stock Samsung launchers. After that, I rebooted into recovery and wiped the cache. I must say, that seems to have given me significant performance gains. Gosh, I miss the days of unlocked bootloaders and AOKP.
I already had Package Disabler Pro and I remember that I was able to import .xml files before but now it doesn't work. I select the .xml file, press on import and nothing happens. I tried reinstalling it but the problem persists. I don't know if it's a bug in the latest version (7.4) or if it only happens to me.
I really dont know but im rooted now so i cant really test it
I just unrooted temporarily and I can confirm that everything is working for me

Same here. Nada happens.
UPDATE: I heard that the nougat firmware for the US unlocked galaxy s7 edge has been released and when it Comes out for the regular s7 I will try to reproduce the problem on my own phone as I decided to just make my phone permanently bloat free without root or having to worry about boot looping after flashing firmwares so I'll try to figure this out when I can and I'll post my findings :good:
I see 2 exact same programs on playstore, but are made by two different companies.
Which one should i be downloading?? Waka or Police?
It's package disabler pro by police dev

I'm sure you've probably moved on to bigger and better things by now, or simply disabled items one click at a time. However, you can try what I did to get import to work. I had just decided to run stock a little while because for some reason my phone went nuts all of the sudden. I saw this post and thought I'd see what others were disabling. I was having same problem. When I downloaded XML doc, my first line had <b> and next line had <a class = "bunch of stuff I don't remember">
Change first line to <importExportSetting>
Change second line to <disabledPackages class = "whatever was already in quotes">
Also edit last two lines. Mine showed </a> then on last line </b>
Change next to last line to </disabledPackages>
Change last line to </importExportSetting>
All credit to @loganbeck14. I didn't change anything that was disabled. I just made it work for me
I attached file with edits. Its the standard debloat. Didn't look at the others. Also, I'm using the policedeveloper PDP v9.8
Does it still work?
Hey there -- I've been away from rooting and ROM'ing for a couple of years, and have been thinking of rooting my ATT Galaxy S7.
Does this still work? I see the links to the .xml files only lead to a document tree page.

[ZIP][FLASHABLE][8.0&7.0]Project Deep Clean - Keep only what you actually use

Long story short, this is a zip to debloat your S8 and probably other Samsung devices. Please modify it to suit your firmware. *As long as your rom is from Samsung, regardless of nougat or oreo, most of the package names should be the same thus this zip should still remove quite a lot of them by default, you will need some minor edits to match your rom perfectly though.
The attached zip is what I'm currently using, there's something that I had commented out because I use that feature and never tried disabling it. Please feel free to experiment with it and modify the script as per your need. However, do pay close attention to some of the lines as activating them will cause your phone fail to boot.
If you had any error or knowledge about what certain file does, please provide feedback so that we can improve this script. The ultimate goal is to know what we can stripe off from TouchWiz ROM until close AOSP state without breaking features that we use, that includes .apk files, files of any format and even related lines in build.prop.
Also, for anyone who wishes to use this script in any way, please feel free to do so. No need to inform or give credit.
Since I do not backup my file before testing, I'm using Github to do this for me. The most updated version will be on Github.
For more information please visit Github.

Got it working nvm. Awesome work!
I'm on AQGL and used Flashfire but the script doesn't seem to work. I updated the script to reflect the boot device as /dev/block/platform/soc/1da4000.ufshc/by-name/system but that didn't work either. Any other hints or suggestions?
TIA.

I do expect people here to experiment with it, as I said in Github this is not (completely) noob-friendly.
You can cross check the script with your ROM, majority of the Samsung preloaded app will be the same, the difference usually is carrier apps. Maybe I shouldn't mention that I'm using AQL5.
XDA developer yeah, not XDA noobs.

It's an app that flashes zip files similar to TWRP. I have the snapdragon 955u variant so cant use twrp since the bootloader is locked. I do have root though.

I see, good to know. Im using an exynos version so cant really figure that out.
You can even delete folder/file one by one by using terminal/root explorer according to my updater-script, that shouldn't make much of a difference.
Will this work on oreo zra5? Actually tried flashing this but it didnt remove anything at all
I personally use the Package Disabler because I'm not that worried about space but the script helped me extremely on what to disable. Very helpful. (also on aql5 btw)

That's weird, it should be able to delete what nougat and oreo have in common and there's quite a few.

System space is quite useless, but it makes people like me feel better when useless stuff is actually gotten rid of.
Plus it is able to remove files, that's beyond the ability of package disabler.
Work on 7.0 aql5? Renovate 7.5
Hey after flashing this tool i have problem : screen write is ereased and when i want to use root file to open system/app my device suddenly reboot what could be the problem?

Im using stock aql5, how do you define 'work' tho?
EDIT: This zip basically removes stuff, so if your ROM contains the stuff that match the updater-script, it gets removed. Nothing magic happening here.

This script doesn't remove the function that allows you to draw on your screenshot cause I'm using that too, one of the actually handy feature added by Samsung...
The reboot part, I'm not sure. Somehow when I try to add back apks directly to system via explorer, my /data partition gets corrupted with
Code:
persist.security.tlc.otp structure needs cleaning
in TWRP, only format data fixes this, and this happened to me twice so I'd recommend you to flash them in instead using the rescue zip template I provided in Github.
The script is really good, I just read it line by line but since I see some issues reported for some people I prefer to try it out later
Edit: i was thinking on replace all Samsung needed apps with Google ones like phone and dialer, anyone knows a port from those?
