So I am able to connect my DS4 to my Note 4. I am able to fix the horrible input lag all without rooting my device.
What I can't seem to do is remap my controller to work properly. I am able to use Remote Play without issue but when I play Android games the key mapping is way off.
Now I know what I want is possible because there is one app that will do exactly what I want called Multilanguage Keymap Redfiner, however it causes massive input lag in game. Totally unusable for my purposes.
Why is it so hard to find a app to change key mapping without root?? Does anyone know of a app that will do what I need without rooting?

I went through the process of pairing my ps3 controller to the tabs bluetooth and got it to connect and respond using six axis app. But then I can't make it do anything else - when I press a button nothing happens no matter how I redefine the keys. I noticed that the website said it may not work with new samsung devices but someone reviewing the app said it worked fine. Any hints on how to get it to work? Do I need a non-samsung rom?

Can you give a bit more info? What Rom and Kernel are you using? What software did you use to connect them? People will help if you give them relevant info.
I am using the six axis controller app from the market. On stock touchwiz with the latest small update applied and rooted (UEKME). You have to be rooted for the app to work at all.
Do you want to navigate through the Android OS or do you want to play games with it? Most regular games don't work with the PS3 controller. Usually people use the controller to play roms with emulators. There you can map the buttons to actions in the settings menu to play the game.
As for the Android OS navigation, as far as I know only the directional buttons work to navigate the home screen and some menues but that's it. You could try mapping different functions to the buttons right from the sixaxis app. It should work if you select the right options.
Update: I resolved the issue with a restart... The program now works perfectly for gaming (including using both analogue sticks eg for N64). In theory you can map any key or function to the buttons but it would be hard work actually doing anything else but gaming. I definitely recommend the below app, though:

I downloaded some GBA/GBC emulators (Tiger GBA/ GBC A.D.) on my player and they always seem to crash. I had tried other emulators beforehand and some of them worked, the button mapping was screwed up. The button mapping issue happened N64oid also where the A and B button only register as a B button. I tried to connect a Wiimote to it but no dice. Is there a way to fix the crashing emulators or is there a reason they are working? Also, is there a way to fix the button mapping issue?
I can confirm the button issue. It's very weird, it happens in most emulators and persists even if you change the location of soft buttons so probably isn't related to a touchscreen bug. You should be able to get around it by assigning the back capacitive key or a volume key to the A button for now.
Are you on 2.2 or 2.3.5? Mine is still Froyo, no official update in my country yet.
I can confirm this happening on my GP5 (US), running 2.3.5.
I tried sticking to other games, but certain other games also have issues with it. I know I've managed to crash some games when the playing becomes intensive.
confirmed. I'm experiencing this issue on the 5.0. any leads?
Just hook a PS3 controller to it. Problem solved, and it's much more comfortable (Plus, TONS of hardware keys to map to =D ).
Get an app. call SixAxis controller. It is awesome, and makes playing games so much easier. It requires you to be rooted and have a PS3 controller.
droid.emu appears to work when the keypad is set to VirtualPad enhance. The lite version is available free in the Android market.
Nes.emu works pretty good with nees games.
Snes9x-1.4.7.1 for snes, no problem with buttons.
in 2.3.5 (international) gamebator doesnt work anymore (the only gba emulator that didnt have the button problem). Gameboid (for GBA) have the problem with the A and B button.
Tigger mame, same problem.
Anyone have any idea why we have this problem?.
PS: N64oid 2.6.3 fixed the A-B button .
Has anyone tried the nds emulator? It ran my galaxy extremely hot!!!!

Is there anyone that has found a solution for using a game controller (PS3, PS4, XBOX ONE, ect) to emulate touch controls for touch screen only games? I know I have rooted my installation and attempted to install the sixaxis app, since I had already bought it for one of my previous devices, but it always fails to configure Bluetooth. Are there any apps out there that can accomplish this that we currently know are working with this wonderful os...?
I tried 2 bluetooth gamepads made for Android, one of them can use the D-pad and ABXY in system but doesnt work in game, another gamepad doesn't work at all
Hope they fix/add support for gamepad soon so we can enjoy games on pc/laptop with no touchscreen support (I really wanted to play Implosion).
Try GameKeyboard +
I use it to emulate onscreen the physical gamepad to play nvidia shield exclusive Portal on Xiaomi Mi3, but I also see options to map physical gamepad or keyboard or even mice; might you find it useful.

Use "Sixaxis Enabler" from the playstore. Works fine for me.

I'll give this and game keyboard a try... With sixaxis enabler, it sounds like all it does is make android recognize it as an android controller. If that is correct, then I don't need that due to the fact that remix os recognizes it as a controller just by plugging it in, but I need touchscreen emulation for apps that don't support controllers.
Bluestacks has some kind of keyboard control apk built in?
I tried it with Real Racing 3 and could steer, accelerate and brake using direction keys on a physical keyboard. But the graphics for the game itself weren't represented well and I switched to RemixOS. Which looks perfect in full screen, but alias there is no way to steer or brake.
Hi guys my android device has integrated physical controls, works great for almost all games specially because of the integrated mapping tool, but some games like Implosion, lego star wars, the amazing spiderman 2 autodetect the gamepad as a different controller, the problem is the games don't recognize most of the buttons, so I can't progress because there is no option to enable the touch screen controls. So my question is does anyone know how to disable the gamepad autodetection in games so I can play them using the onscreen buttons by using the mapping tool? I have root maybe there is a way to alter the games data to disable the external controller detection? Please help
Any ideas guys? based on the times I have seen this question on the internet it appears no one knows how.
No dev knows?

Tried using tincore but it did not work.
I am root now any files I can delete? please help.
Any way to disable th system input devices?
It appears the problem arises because the builtin controller of my device is two different devices called "joystick" (the analogs) and "joykey" (the face buttons and dpad), the games only detect the joystick as the first connected device, making the face buttoms unusable. Is there any way I can merge these input devices? Or just removing "joystick"?
Solved!!!

I found a solution to this problem
For me i have seen that i was using wireless bluetooth earphone.due to bluetooth connectivity they mistaken with controller.so if you are using bluetooth earphones just dont use while playing the game otherwise they will mistake our earphone with controller.so yup thats it it worked for mr.anyway those are facing this problem mainly are andriod 10 users because i already played amazing spiderman 2 on andriod 9 and i didnt face such like problems.also if the app doesnt install on your andriod 10 try unistalling other gameloft games and find a compatible version for your phone.you can find the version on youtube or google also.here is the youtube channel name andorid Games and type amazing spiderman 2 for andriod 10.
Wassup Folks,
I wanna buy an optional bluetooth game controller on amazon (or somewhere else) in order to play a few games on my phone..
Sadly not every app supports a native controller support, that means even if I would connect a controller normally through bluetooth, I would not be able to actually push a button, use a D-Pad, etc.
Someone there, who already rooted his device and used something like Sixaxis in order to achieve this? I'd appreciate if someone of you would give me feedback, I am playing with the thought to make a few reviews here (I don't know if Android 10 is appropirate enough in order to use third-partys app for game controller links and touch emulation through super user rights).
