current condition .. Stuck On Htc Logo
S-On
TWRP Rec Installed
Thanks In Advance

Was the phone on Kitkat or Lollipop when you unlocked the bootloader?
What version TWRP?
Did you make a nandroid (TWRP backup) of your stock ROM before you flashed the custom ROM?
Don't use the word "firmware" when you mean ROM (that seems to be what you mean). On this device "firmware" is typically used to mean something completely different (firmware.zip that includes hboot, radio, etc., but not the OS/ROM).

I have the same issue but mine is s-off. I put the LP firmware on first and now I am stuck.

Its not clear what you or the OP tried to flash, as you need to be specific (and provide links if possible).
Plus, I already asked you to provide getvar data (which should be mandatory for anyone asking for support here) in the thread you started, but you never did so.

So, now, I updated my firmware to 4.16.401.1 and it took good. Went to TWRP and did a wipe of cache (both), system and data to prep the new ROM (Viper one M8 4.6.1). From my ext SD, loaded it and this is where we are at. This was 2.5 hrs ago.

Meaning what? You can get into bootloader, but when you try to select recovery, it reboots? Or you can't get into bootloader?

If the screen comes on, its not bricked.
Hold the power button for several seconds to force a reboot. The moment the screen goes dark to reboot, let go of the power button, and hold only the vol down button. Don't let go of vol down, until you see the hboot screen. Failure to access hboot is virtually always caused by not performing the button combo correctly, either not pressing vol down fast enough; or letting go too early.
From hboot, you should be able to boot into recovery, use fastboot, etc.

Urgently need help. Would appreciate it very much.

Dear all,
Here is the situation. I decided to root my evo 3d gsm (hboot 1.5++) today, and all went well until I flashed a rom (virtuous). Now whenever I boot on the phone, it shows me this "V" logo and loads for more than 10minutes or so. I can go into my bootloader, but when I attempt to do anything from my clockworkmod recovery, when I press the power button to select different options, I get blank menus and I can attempt nothing. I am an unexperienced user, and can anyone out there who is experience render some assistance? I am at my wits end...
Thanks
Well I'm not too familier with the gsm version... the "V", is that part of the boot animation? and does it just loop over and over? maybe try reflashing clockworkmod and re wipe and install?

The "V" is the part of the boot animation. And the "V" just glows again and again, yeah so i guess it loops. Why I am so worried is because I saw a window of my HTC sense booting to life earlier on, but I saw the words "Unfortunately... has... crashed..." but it was very brief, and after which the animation began again. Is it because I waited for too short a period of time? (around 15 minutes or so) or because it really boot looped? And how do I reflash clockwordmod when I can't access my phone and sd card? Will appreciate your kind help...
I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for something too boot, and it should really never take longer than that. Can you tell me the steps you took to flash the rom(not to root it). and could you give some more info about your phone? are you s-on or s-off? And what do you mean by blank menus in clockwork mod? Do you know how to boot into your hboot menu? from there you can boot to fastboot and install the recovery from your pc. connect your phone to the pc while in fastboot mode and get your recovery.img file and type the following command from the command line:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery /path/to/<recovery>.img

Ok, here is the infomation. I live in Singapore, which is a part of Southeast Asia, my phone is the GSM version with HBoot 1.530007(i cant remember the decimal placing).
I firstly used HTCDEV to unlock my bootloader, which went well, then I went to evohacks to get the conventional rooting method, which went well too. And it all came when I was careless, and I accidentally forgot to wipe the data and cache of my evo before i flashed the rom. And now it gets stuck in the "V" logo loading phase. If the hboot menu is the menu where I have to press the powerbutton and the volume down button then yes. I can also get into my recovery, but the problem is that it shows a blank menu in (clockwordmod specifically), thus rendering whatever me helpless. i have downloaded the PG86IMG.zip and Im waiting for it to finish. So how do I go about solving this matter? This phone is my only asset and I really want to save it...
Blank menu as in for example when I click "Reboot", or "Factory Reset" or perhaps "Restore" in the CWD Recovery, it just shows me a blank menu with the CWD logo in the background, with no options or drop down words or whatsoever. And the sad thing is that I did not make any recoveries at all.... So I plucked my sd card out, and now im waiting to finish downloading the PG86IMG.zip to put on my sd and into my phone, and flash it to revert it back to stock and stuff..... I hope this works
Ok, well as long as you can get to either hboot or recovery you'll be ok. I would recommend flashing 4ext recovery, as it has never failed me and seems to help others. here is the link to it. Download that and pull the recovery.img out and flash that from your pc with the command I gave above. It sounds like you are either pushing the wrong button in the recovery or it might just be messing up for some reason. Is it the touchscreen version of clockworkmod?

The recovery is the free version, so it shouldn't be the touch one. May I ask, what do you mean by recovery.img? I emptied my SD card so that I can put the PG86IMG.zip into it later. Any more specific steps you can give? Sorry but Im really a newb in the android world

The recovery.img is the image that the phone flashes to install the recovery. If you look in the zip I posted in the link you'll see that file in there. the one I posted is the 4ext touch recovery. you can manually flash that file to your phone in case you can't get it to boot(like your case). I would suggest trying the 4ext recovery I linked, or maybe try to boot to recovery again and see if its touch based. Were the menus working when you flashed the virtuous rom, and then it stopped working?
OH stupid me. Whoops. Actually I CAN navigate. Ive been pressing the wrong button all this while. I pressed the power instead of the camera, which is the select button. Whoops. seems like CMD was working after all. sorry...
ok but still, can I just attempt to install the RUU file I downloaded in the CWD menu? Will it work? Will my phone be reverted back to its original unrooted state? I saw someone say it could...
There is something bugging me though. My SD card is now completely empty. Will it have any negative effects on what i do?
I thought something like that was happening, glad you got it sorted. Try to wipe everything and reinstall your virtious rom again first. yes the PG86IMG.zip will return you back to complete stock, recovery and all. So if you do that you might have to re-root all over again.

So theoretically flashing the ROM shouldn't take more than... around 15 minutes?
correct
Its now 10 minutes and so far my phone had made 2 major vibrations. So if this doesn't work, can i just wipe all the data again, put the PG86IMG.zip in my phone, go to recovery to install it, and then I just press reboot right?

Sometimes sense roms can take a bit, but if its vibrating than it should be working. if not just put the PG86IMG.zip on the root of your sdcard and boot into hboot and let it do its thing. no need to wipe data for that.

[Q] Rezound wont turn on

Well I've really done it this time. The phone will not power up at all. Ever since the whole Google Maps Rebooting issue the phone has been worthless. It hasn't been able to be turned on in a week. Just black screen. Before it completely failed it would boot, but after about 10 seconds it would restart or power off.
I have a feeling that the battery is not charging. When I plug it in to charge the orange battery led lights up but for only a couple of seconds and then it turns off. Maybe I need to get an external charger or something to charge my battery.
I would love to send the phone back for warranty, but I'm unlocked and rooted, so I am afraid that they won't help me out with warranty. Also, I would love to sell the phone, but obviously I'm not going to sell a phone that doesn't work.
If I could just get the phone to turn on so I can get some of my personal documents off of it that would be great. For some reason the phone stopped syncing contacts a few months ago and I need to get these off of the phone. Anyway. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for any help/ideas.

does this file get flashed in recovery like a normal rom? Does it take me back to locked/non-rooted? Thanks.
Rename to PH98IMG.zip, put on the root of the external SD, boot to bootloader and it will do the rest automatically. Make sure you delete the file from the SD after you're done so you won't have trouble in the future.
EDIT: It might reboot two or three times during the installation and look like it's doing some things multiple times. That's normal, so don't panic.

Flashing the RUU will get you phone back to 100% right out of the box stock.
it will update your hboot to 2.27 and lock it.
it will wipe internal storage.
it will give you global firmware and kernel.
all you need to do is relock the device via fastboot command " fastboot oem lock"
then place zip on root of the sd card and rename it to PH98IMG.zip
boot into hboot and it will detect it.
first flash will update hboot, firmware, kernel, splash, radio
it will reboot automatically. (back to fastboot)
then go back to hboot and let it run one more time. (this will take a while as its wiping, formatting, then installing system files)
after its all complete it will boot the phone into the os.
Ok, I'm going to go for this tonight when I get off work.
Hopefully the RUU OS stops the rebooting problem I am having. I am currently running Scott's Clean ROM. I was working great since about May, but now even after a few wipes and re-installs, it still has the reboot bug. Phone won't stay on for longer than 5 minutes and it continually reboots and quickly drains the battery. Basically it is unusable. I was able to flash Amon Recovery and that did fix the charging issue, but it didn't help with the reboots.
Hopefully after the RUU it's back to stable.

[Q] Bricked HTC One. Urgent, Help?

I believe I have soft bricked my device. Earlier this morning I installed ARHD, it went into the AROMA Installer and went through the process of picking the mods that I wanted, I hit install & as soon as it hit 99 Percent, I was brought back to TWRP as if I didn't flash anything. Feeling confused, I hit reboot system and after the HTC Screen boots up, it takes me directly back to TWRP. I've never experienced anything like this before, what in the world did I do incorrectly? Please help, feel free to chime in.

Well considering you're familiar with fastboot, what I did was relock my bootloader, unlocked it again and this time I installed CWM instead of TWRP, used adb sideload connected my device via usb cable, downloaded the stock ROM from @Mike1986 and pushed it to my device and profit. I learned my lesson not to use the touch screen and to use the power button to navigate through Aroma. I hope this helps..

Ironically I was gonna suggest not using touchscreen twrp, that it might be the problem. Only when using Aroma though (I believe). Touchscreen in Aroma using twrp is known to fubar phones at this point.

[Q] Booting takes ages, bootloader corrupt?

I've been going from AOKP to CM 10.1.3 stable a few days ago.
After about two days of no problems at all, my phone all of a sudden went really hot (like 58°C), battery drained from almost full to complete empty within less than two hours. I didn't install any new apps or flashed any updates.
I switched it off, turned it on again, but the battery drain continued. After being drained, it wouldn't boot to system and wouldn't charge for a whole while, saying "2%+" in TWRP for ages.
The problem now is, when I push the power button to turn it on, it doesn't react for about 2 to 5 minutes, then all of a sudden shows the HTC logo for another five minutes, then shows the CM bootanimation for another 5 to 10 minutes. If it finally finishes booting, I can use the system with almost no problems.
Flashing another version of CM (latest snapshot) and the matching kernel didn't help.
Can it be, that my bootloader is somehow corrupt?
Could it be a hardware issue like faulty memory?
Any ideas would be very welcome.
Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply, Lloir.
Is the time it takes my phone from pushing the power button to showing the HTC logo in any way related to the ROM it's running?
I've attached a log. There are many different (driver-) problems of which I'm not sure they are related to my initial problem.
Thanks for your help.

power button > logo nope, but that can take a little bit anyway. my device takes SOMETIMES around 5-10seconds to display anything

5-10 seconds is what I was used to before yesterday. Now it's more like several minutes.
Any ideas? Could reflashing the bootloader help? Erasing boot partition and reflashing?

Bootloader and boot partition are 2 diffrent things. Boot partition stores the kernel. I doubt your bootloader is corrupt as your phone wouldnt even switch on if it was.
The only way to reflash bootloader with S-On devices is finding a compatible RUU.

Makes sense. I'm S-OFF btw.
When I flash a boot.img, does it overwrite the boot partition? Would it make sense to fastboot erase boot first?

Yeah when you flash a boot.img it overwrites boot partition. there is no real need to wipe boot before flashing a new kernel, but if you want to try it, it will cause no harm.

In theory if you have S-Off, you could try reflashing bootloader. But be warned this is a last resort method. AFAIK Jtag is disabled with Tegra 3 so if something did go wrong, you would have a permanent brick.....

Thanks for the warning and your help. Will try a few last things first. Flashing a RUU will change the bootloader without the risk of bricking my phone?
Have you any other thoughts or opinions on this issue?
Alright, so I ended up wanting to run the RUU to return to stock.
Now the damn problem is, as I start running it, it reboots the bootloader first and waits for the phone. But as it takes my phone ages to reboot, the software stops with a connection error after one minute or so.
What can I do?
After relocking the bootloader, my fastboot is showing me a security warning and won't boot to system or recovery any more.
Is it finally dead?

U can unlock it again and flash custom recovery to install any custom ROM .....or if ur hboot is 1.35 u can run RUU and return to stock
if ur hboot is not 1.35 u got no other choice than unlocking ur bootloader

Thanks for the summary. But sadly the first solution doesn't solve my problem and the second solution doesn't work because of my problem.
Okay, I found something interesting here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32574569&postcount=2
It says, I can fetch the ROM, the RUU wants to flash and flash it manually in HBOOT. I found the ROM and I think it would go round my problem with the 5 minutes of boot time.
Does anybody know, if this would work with my enrc2b?
Any dangers with using this method?
And most importantly, how will I have to name the file?
Alright, so I managed to return to stock now with the appropriate RUU, sensor problems and camera crash persist. But at least, I can return it to HTC for service now.
Here's how I got the RUU to run:
First, after running the .exe, I accepted the warning screen. Then I went to C:\Users\_user_\AppData\Local\Temp\ where I found a temporary folder, created by the RUU. It looked like this on my computer {C528E446-42D4-4210-B236-35BE15A71702} and it contains a dotnetinstaller.exe.
There is also a subfolder, where I found a ARUWizard.ini. Checking this out, I could change the values for "UpdateTimeout" and "VerifyTimeout" to way more than the default 90 seconds. This indeed helped. After saving the .ini, I went through the rest of the RUU.
The software was now waiting long enough for my phone to boot. But obviously there was another problem, since the update wouldn't run.
I remembered that after a reboot, I sometimes had to unplug the USB cable once and plug it back in for the connection to work and to see my device under fastboot devices.
I did this, while the black HTC screen was showing up and finally, the RUU went through the whole update process.
Thanks for all the support!

Phone isnt working after ROM flash attempt

So I tried my hand at installing SkyDragon ROM with S-On, but I ran into a issue. I got TWRP installed but when I installed the SkyDragon ROM with it, it says it installs correctly. But when I goto boot, black screen with sound. How do I fix it? My phone is unusable now and would love to get this thing fixed ASAP! Thanks!
I have access to fastboot and TWRP, I think I still have S-On, havent used a tool to S-Off so I should still be S-On.
What does your boot loader say ?
Do you have a backup of previous ROM .
If not do a full wipe as well as wipe system and try to install the ROM again.
But it could also be a bad download.
download it again and transfer it to an external sdcard and pop it in your phone so you can give it another go.

I dont have a backup, this is the first time I ever did something wrong. Guess I wont make that mistake again.
Version is 19.0 WWE for HTC ONE (M8)
I used TWRP to wipe delvik, cache, system, data. The aroma installer asked if I wanted to do a full wipe, which I did. I installed it to the external sdcard.

When installing the rom? Says everything is successful...
So I did the V 20 now to see if that worked. Nope. here is a log of the installation if that helps: http://pastebin.com/YnXfXTUW
In the aroma is there kernels to choose from and if so did you choose any overclocking options of any kind.have you asked in the ROM thread to see if anyone else is having this issue
Extract the kernel from zip and manually flash it after installing the rom. fastboot flash nameofkernel.img

Yeah, SkyDragon kernal 3.0.0.0 or unsecured kernal. And yes I have, I pointed to this thread.
Now I am stuck at the HTC Screen with the text "This build is for development purposes only Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action."
Appropriate firmware flashed?

@LightningKitsune
Try the stock settings/default settings across the board .going for mad performance might be the issue on boot.I've been running Skydragon ROM for months and have zero issues on my at&t m8

I never recall flashing a ROM to be this hard. What changed from 2-3 years ago when you could just add a recovery and install a zip to your external SD card and that was enough to install the ROM (after wiping the data and cache partitions of course).
Wonders_Never_Cease's thread, will help you, then you can flash whatever rom you wish for this phone, http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/development/att-4-4-3-2-22-1540-3-debloated-sense-6-t2837365 I used it, when I had a similar problem. I've only had my phone for several days.
I'm sure not one of us has had only one device or even at one time for that matter.so with each device comes different challenges so we need to read and research as much as we can before the most commonly known word(BRICK) becomes a reality.
