Hi guys, I am currently using Cm 12.1 and using the XT1521 version of the Moto e surnia. Do any of you guys know how to up the quality or resolution of images on your device. On YouTube, the resolution is perfect, as I always up the quality to 480 p, but can't seem to on images. Hope I'm not asking a stupid question, this is my first android phone. (I'm 13).

Hi, how are you?
I got the Z2 a week ago and since I received it, the first thing I did was install Cyanogenmod 11.
The phone is working gracefully, best phone experience I ever had.
However I'm not being able to record videos in 4k.
This is a huge advantage of the Z2, and I'm really sad I'm not being able to use it.
How can I record videos in 4K in the Z2 with cyanogen?
Thank you so much.

You can't. CM has yet to implement this feature. Although it may not be implemented at all. It was mentioned in CM thread, just search for a little.
Google claims that lollipop is able to capture full resolution frames at 30 frames per second. Also, it can capture raw images. So what you people think about camera performance in moto e after lollipop update ?
Can moto e record 2k videos at 30 FPS?? There are some devices(with 5 mp camera) out there, which can record 720p videos on kitkat. I don't know why motorola limits moto e to record only 480p videos. Do anybody have any idea??

Camera is not only about software alone, its hardware dependent too...
The Moto E camera hardware is limiting and I doubt Lollipop will improve image quality....

well, this feels bad. :crying:
I don't think that there would be any camera improvements. Being the major reason it has no auto focus feature

why do you want motorola camera? z2 has everything you need in stock rom and you can have even more addons. you have slowmo in sony s app timeshift video that takes 120 fps. i suggest you try the existenz rom, i use kitkat (existenz ultimate) because it s more stable with xposed and root

There is no device that has fully supported and full featured camera in any CM or AOSP ROM. By using CM or AOSP ROMs camera quality sacrifice is inevitable. You will loose all advanced post-processing and features tailored for a specific camera. Camera hardware is working on universal CM drivers and by rule OEM drivers are proprietary and closed source. There is nothing anybody can do about this. Slo mo and 120 fps recording are advanced features not supported without OEM camera drivers. This is the case with all android devices. There are some improvisations and hacks for some specific devices but are almost always of poor quality and unusable. Moto cakera works with Z2 and CM but slow motion is not working properly.
i have buy redmi note 3 after my samsung note 3 neo, but 16mp camera of rn3 is not good as samsung 8mp camera, sometime 8mp samsung photos are way better than rn3 16 mp, rn3 photos are very grainy when zoom in but samsung photos are very sharp, so i have read some post on miui forum and internet, and find in some user say that this probelm is due to image processing algorithm of miui, so flashing any custom rom will change my camera quality or not.
OK.
Are you asking a question, or are you telling us?

i am telling you my problem and asking for solution..
If you using MIUI stock camera, try another camera app like Google stock one.
MIUI Stock is over-saturated, over-sharpened.
I'm using customized setting for MIUI stock. Lowering everything, contrast, saturation, sharpness.
But camera movie quality on stock MiUi is great! Just Recorder a trial of my Band yesterday and result was best over all AOSP or CM13 tries I did before!!

Hi,
I would like to buy this phone. The camera quality is on the 1. place for me.
I have read many review but everybody is talking differently...
I currently own Gionee E7 with great 16MP OmniVision shooter and I am
really afraid to swap it...
So is that 21mp camera good or not comparing to etc. Samsug galaxy s6??
Could someone upload unedited photos somewhere?
How camera quality is related to ROM updates?
Thanks!
There's camera samples everywhere, the sony imx 230 is very good at daylight, but for low light it is very under saturated! Also pretty noisy.
I reccomend to buy LeMax2 if you aim to buy a powerful device at a relative low price.
Otherwise, if camera is your number one reason to buy a phone, you should skip this.
It has a good camera, and sometimes you can take really good shots with enough lighting, but comparison with Galaxy S6 and others top-of-the-line smartphones is unfair.
Moreover, ROM developers are struggling to get full functionality with the camera, unless they aren't original based ROMs, so you are limited to EUI as of now.
And to add something, LeMax2 sensor camera is the same as these devices:
LeTV One Max X900
Meizu PRO 6, PRO 5
Honor 7
Elephone Vowney, M3
Lenovo Vibe X3
Sony Xperia Z5, Z3+, M5
Motorola Moto X Force, Moto X Play, Moto X Style, Droid Turbo 2
Thank you Star_dust6 for great answer!
It seems I will skip this device because of camera...

You're welcome.
As for smartphones with a really good camera, you should aim for something like LG G5: is a little bit expensive (350 €), but worth every penny.
