[Q] Desktop SMS Privacy Friendly App

Good evening,
After months of research, I decided to ask for help in order to find the rare app I'm looking for.
Owner of a N7100 operating under CM 11, I discovered when I upgraded to KK that one of my favorite (and abandoned) app wasn't working anymore.
That app is EasySMS ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.fireblade.easysms ). It's a classic desktop SMS app that works locally without any outside server.
I know that there are already a lot of apps that do the same (MightyText, DesktopSMS, MySMS…), but as a privacy minded individual, they just don't do the cut. You can even scare yourself a little by reading their vague "privacy" statements.
My dream requirements for such an app would be that it can work without any external server interaction (like EasySMS) or with end to end encryption between my texts and my device (like the now defunct BrowserTexting).
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Didraskein.

WANTED: Developer for OS assistance on MTK6589 rugged device

Hi folks, just want to say before I start, i'm not a developer, i'm a marketing person for a few phone companies.
I work with a company who are currently purchasing an MTK6589 based device called the Defender from China.
It's running Android 4.2.2.
Tasks Required:
Re-mapping of SOS and PTT buttons
Some of the app partners looking to use the handset want to map buttons so that they can use the handset with their apps but on smaller order quantities this is difficult for the factory to manage.
The intents given by the factory don't appear to work which I believe might be because they are already being used by the CallForHelp app and the built in Walkie Talkie app.
We require a build of the OS on there but with intents from each button that are open to apps picking them up.
Idle Running Processes Setup
Additionally we found out that when the handset goes into idle mode it actually stops a lot of the running processes. We've had one software version done that keeps the accelerometer running and another app partner managed to force open the bluetooth connection when connected to a bluetooth speaker accessory but ideally we'd like to get this looked at and see what processes would be best to keep running.
For this we are looking to work with a UK based developer and in the future we will require more assistance with the handset, if you're interested then please reply to this thread or drop me a message and we can chat further.
Thanks, Ben.

[Q] Good for Enterprise Users on Android 5.X, PLEASE CHIME IN...

Dear Friends,
Hoping to find some fellow (unlucky) Good for Enterprise users here. More specifically, has anyone been able to use it on an Android device that Android 5.0 and up? My company unfortunately requires me to use the software to get to my Exchange email. I am a T-Mobile Note 3 User who is just tired of how lanky and heavy TouchWiz is, but do enjoy the hardware of my phone, every single bit!
Long story short, thinking of going to CM11 (KitKat) to make my device fast, but was wondering if there are any Good for Enterprise users here on Android 5.0 and up and if so, do you know if there is a way to use the app on a ROOTED device? AKA Hide root like we used on Xposed via RootCloak or GFE patch?
Would appreciate ANY help and advice! Thank you in advance for your responses!
*BUMP* Any input friends?
I'm no developer or anything but I have been "coping with limited success" for a while now. There is a thread XDA that uses xposed framework developed by "Phantasm4489" but its in a limbo phase at the moment.
1. The alpha build of PA 5, if installed without root ( user discretion now to root or not to) works fine. The only issue is that the ROM is quite bare bones. My point being ROMs built using those principles may work as long as you forfeit your root privileges.
2. If you have a browser access ( web login ) you can install GFE on an unroofed secondary device, and sync notifications across android devices through the push bullet app. You will be notified of new mails, but you will have to login through web. Not the best but it can work somewhat reasonably.

MyGNUHealth - Android developer needed!

Hey guys & girls,
GNU Health is an official GNU program with the intention, to deliver healthcare with Free Software (health.gnu.org or gnuhealth.org).
The project has recently released a Personal Health Record application called MyGNUHealth. MyGNUHealth allows you to record your medical data, as well as nutrition, physical activites and mental state. It comes without any 3rd party trackers and keeps the user in ownership of his data.
It is written in Python with Qt-bindings and was developed on the PinePhone. It runs as well on Desktops that support Qt (like KDE).
With this post I would like to ask interested developers to port the application to Android, as nobody of the current team has Android knowledge.
In case of questions reply to this thread or send me a PM.
Cheers
COOGOR
