Hello,
On a youtube phone review video, I asked the uploader regarding the release of boot-loader unlock for Xperia M5.
He says- "root method has been out for months, it would be great if you can put Google to use, no offense".
Is it true? Why? What else is the new method to take good control of your phone?
Thank you.

Hello all,
Since 1 month I am looking for an unlock method for my X10 mini, are there any projects going on for this ?
Or do you have recommendations for unlock sites, it is very very vague to me those kind of sites.
Hi Buddy, I have the same problem. anybody out there know of a cheap way to unlock this mini beast? Will rooting do that?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804916
also google for davinci team, they have a good rep too.
Rooting is not connected to network unlocking.
Wrong forum, I think.

I believe that you are new here and don't know that the huawei phones would not enable us to install stock roms and we are not able now to unlock the bootloader anymore for free lol.
So there is no custom roms dear
Wtf how am I supposed to unlock the bootloader then I need more information quickly so I can cancel my purchase. Is it impossible to unlock bootloader now

Depends on your firmware. If Security Patch is June or later you won't be able to, at least not if you're on C432.
If you are on security patch may or earlier you will be able to use HCU client to get unlock code, but it's paid.
I can only confirm that it's not possible to get unlock code on C432B145+, I can't confirm for other cust but it will most likely be the same.
Edit: if it's a brand new phone it will likely come with factory firmware, unless the shop you bought it from updated it.
Even if I was able to unlock think it's likely that development will be very limited would I be right in thinking this.

I wouldn't say "limited" it depends what your looking for, obviously the best device development is for OnePlus and Pixels imo, but we still have RessurectionRemix, LineageOS, CarbonROM & OmniROM, that's 4 pretty recognisable ROM's :good:
Link to ROM's : https://openkirin.net/download/
To be honest, I had my first Mate 10 Pro rooted, and apart from an Ad blocker and YouTube Vanced there wasn't much I felt any need to install. Now Vanced can be installed without root, and Ad Blocker can run on various browsers, I don't see much point.
The Mate 10 Pro is a brilliant phone, I'm seriously considering selling my S9+ and going back to the 10 Pro - the battery life was far better, and I think the camera was better. I also hate the bent sides on the screen on the Samsung. Only thing I might missis Samsung Pay, but I'll just go back to contactless card.
Thanks to you guys and some further reasearch i was able to reach out to the person on ebay i had bought the phone from and cancel the purchase after explaining the situation with bootloader. I am still reeling from Huwaweis decision to stop bootloader unlocking and hope they one day reverse this decision. I really had my heart set on the mate 10 for obvious reasons but possible lack of bootloader unlock is just a no no for me on my current phone a xiaomi mi6 i regularly change roms and kernels sometimes twice a week so i certainly could not live with being stuck on Mui with no possibility of modifications xposed etc. And i did not want to take the risk of buying to only find out that the bootloder had been patched or something and id be stuck.
So now i have turned my attention to either the oneplus 5 or perhaps galaxy s8plus. Again thanks for your help guys.
Hi Guys,
I've been here a while and don't post much, but use the forum for info etc, and its a great source of information.
I have acquired a Mate 10 pro with a damaged screen - initially I was asked if I could put a new screen in it, but my work colleague has decided to buy a new phone and has basically given the phone to me.
My plan initially was to maybe sell it or repair it and then sell it, but I have discovered that you can rebrand these via FH to a dual sim, which is essential for me as I currently have a OnePlus 3 with dual sim.
My question is - I have contacted FH to ask if it is definitely possible on this Huawei and they have asked only if I have the unlock code - which I assume they mean the bootloader unlock code.
Its my first experience of all things Huawei and so I guess I would like to know how easy or difficult this is - not just in terms of the process as I have quite a bit of experience with flashing ROM's etc, but finding the info to unlock the bootloader (as I have read that this can sometimes be difficult), and FH haven't answered my question in terms of how many credits etc I will need to pay to do the full conversion from single to dual sim.
Many thanks in advance.

I assume thats a No then.
I did see that bootloader codes were hard to find, but I wondered if there was another way as its my first Huawei experience.
Hey Folks,
i just got the old Huawei Ascend Y530 from my Mum, and thought i may be playing around with it. So i started diggin about Huawei Rooting and Stuff.
From what i understood, they ********* stopped providing Unlocking Codes, thus its not possible to root them at all. I sent them an email as described in the (outdated) Y530-Wiki, they denied. They redesigned the Chinese Site as well, so i think no chance here.
Obviously, im not willing to pay more than Buck for a 6 Years old, Android 4.x Phone.
So i might be just disappointed and stop here. I did a last quick search, and ran across this: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/generate-free-factory-huawei-phone-unlock-codes
So i kindly wanted to ask - is there somebody with an DC-Unlocker Dongle around, willing to help me out with that old phone, and generate a free BL Unlock Code for me?
I didn't some research. It seems I have to unlock the bootloader first. Which means I need a code. And I have to buy a code from here?
https://www.dc-unlocker.com
Does this still work? The guide is over a year old.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m5/how-to/bootloader-unlock-guide-t3781275
Any advice would be appreciated.
Yes but you need to downgrade the firmware (<8.0.0.136 or similar, i cannot remember exactly) . Because they have fixed, with latest versions, a backdoor used by dc-unlocker to get the bootloader code.
Cheers

Hmm. This is interesting. I actually haven't opened it yet. It's still sealed in the box. Just in case I had to return it. So there's a chance that it could be at a low enough firmware.
I remember i get the code with the 8.0.0.86 firmware, but check the right thread (here) to find the last one to get the code.

Cool. Thanks. So I need to buy number 3 from this list?
http://i.imgur.com/KfOQDZ8.jpg
If you read the forum, the correct item is number 40 "Read Unlock Codes for Huawei Hisilicon Kirin Android phones".
Bye
I just opened it. And it says that my build number is SHT-W09 8.0.0.173 (C567)
So I'm guessing this means it has to be downgraded.
I ended up getting rid of my M3 and never upgraded to an M5 because of not being able to root or root easily. I ended up running the M3 stock for a while and it was a great tablet, but with all the US bans and back doors to your info from Huawei, I got rid of the M3 and had to move to an iPad mini 5. I would have loved a mini pro version, but this will work for now. I liked the media aspect of the M3 and M5, but all the security issues and lack of root I couldn’t do it anymore. Not to mention there isn’t much other there that are good 8” tablets on the market.

... especially because the iPad is so easy to root ...?
we all know jail breaking an iPad isn’t easy, if it is even possible anymore. Most of the reasons to root an android have better applications than a jailbreak on iOS. I like android tablets a lot more than iOS, but the 8” tablet sector isn’t great anymore. Last great one was the Samsung tab s 8.4 that I thought hit all the marks. I’m just saying I like the M3 and wanted to get an m5 but there are way too many negatives to that brand and tablet now.
