Is it possible to overwrite/overflash G850FQ bootloader on G850A ?
or
Can you advise the result of odin flashing G850FQ firmware on G850A ?
Kind regards
FQ has exynos processor, 850F has snapdragon....cross flashing will most likely hard brick the phone. DONT DO IT.

Not true. SM-G850F has the Samsung EXYNOS5430 Chipset and is octacore. [ Cores 8 ]
Yeah, but OP is talking about 850A which has Snapdragon processor, not 850F.

But you or @dork997 said that 850F has Snapdragon. That is not true.
I didn't say so and I believe dork997 simply has a typo. It is irrelevant to this topic anyway.
For OP, IIRC, back in the old days of messing with ODIN and Galaxy S1 and S2, most firmware files don't come with boot loaders. Flashing a ROM with boot loaders inside is considered extremely dangerous because if you mess up boot loader, there is no way to recover your phone (it can only be J-Tagged to revive it). So, if you have a ROM with boot loader in it, you can try but understand the risk involved. Also, as pointed out, make sure the hardware is compatible.
Foxbat...thanks a million for the guidance...
I checked the platforms for both phones and tried to flash with odin with repartitioning g850a with g850f pit and ap/radio/csc/bl , but no success ,not even a hard brick
So two last questions
1- A locked bootloader can not be overwritten even if you have the bootloaders in the firmware file and the pit... is this right ?
2- Will jtagging be a solution to rebuild the phone with the bootloader on ? may sound weird but basically is converting a g850a to g850f possible with jtagging ?
thanks for your patience
Sorry, I don't have any answers to your questions.

Hi there,
My first post on this forum, and as there is no place here dedicated to SHV-E110S (4G) model, I post my questions here.
My question is about baseband on this smartphone, drived by qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 SoC.
Detailed specifications show that it is 4G compliant on the LTE 800, LTE 1800, LTE 2600 bandwitdh. But it seems it only works on 800 Mhz bandwidth, and I would like to know if someone could help me about the way to update or flash this APQ8060 SoC.
My theory is that the current qualcomm firmware doesn't allow to use 2.6 Ghz bandwidth as this smartphone is designed for korean market, and Korea use 800 Mzh LTE bandwidth.
So I am for some advices to upgrade the firmware or finding a way to use this smartphone on 2.6 Ghz LTE bandwidth.
I guess the baseband firmware is corresponding to the PHONE part in Odin software, am I right ?
I am also looking for the stock ROM for this SHV-E110S, which seems hard to find
Thanks for providing me informations about that if you can !
I think better to see in other thread. Because here is discussed international variant of Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100, that is completelly different with yours model.
Better to see in AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket threads, because its specifications close to yours.

SHV-E110S
Can we use the firmware of different galaxy s2 models if the specifications are same? In different countries they have different names of model... but when we check the spec it looks same.
You can use another rom if the specs are EXACTLY the same. But I wouldn't risk it on any high end phone.
SHV-E110S
Can anybody point out which rom will suite for Samsung galaxy s2 lte (SHV-E110S) korean version ?... the spec looks same with Samsung Galaxy S II LTE (Rogers) SGH-I727R and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727. Thanks

Here is the link for latest firmware for SHV-E110S which is rooted.

Thank you guys for your replies.
Unfortunately this smartphone is now hard-bricked since several days, after having tried to update phone firmware with another one originally designed for SC-03D, which though have the same hardware.
Maybe I will try to call a JTAC service to know if they can do something for it.
But I am still very disappointed with the specifications for LTE bands on the E110S... really seems like the 4G/LTE B7 band (2.6Ghz) does not work on the device.
I now use a GT-i9210, and it works without problem on 2.6Ghz network. The hardware modem part is (in constructor specifications) the same as E110S & SC-03D...
I had to translate a lot a chinese & korean forums to get informations about this model, and finally find some firmware but none of them lead me to get it working on 2.6Gz LTE network.
I had no problem with rooting the phone, however thank you for the rooted firmware link !

just all the blablabla.zip.001 --- blablabla.zip.077 files in one folder in your PC.
Click with right button of your mous on blablabla.zip.001 and click extract it with archivator (win-rar, win-zip, 7-zip)
I do not se this file, but i assume that inside file for Odin.
If file name ends with *.tar or *.tar.md5 - it's for odin

+1 for this
anyone? can i root?
Dear @awitee
1)In case of flashing you can flash it with different country but it must be for your model (in case you dont wont to trip knox and use samsung pay)
2)still no root from chainfire fro your model.

Hi thanks for the reply.
So does that mean i cant flash the stock G925F firmware on my G925L model? what will happen if i do?
simple, you'll get bootloop that stays pretty much on the Samsung start logo. Or maybe even nothing at all. You could be directed to Download Mode and it could say update fail, please try to update again. This can all be solved by flashing the designated firmware meant for your phone model. So it's basically a soft brick. No biggie. I won't suggest you try to flash a different model-firmware on your phone. But if you're keen in seeing the results, please go ahead. Just make sure you have your model-specific firmware somewhere, and the non-model-specific firmware that you want to try out (obviously).
*coming from experience downloading and flashing the wrong model-firmware
So I was wondering if this is possible. My phone (running lollipop 5.1.1) is locked to a carrier but I was planing on flashing an unbranded 6.0.1 (from Italy). Marshmallow will eventually come to my country but I just can`t wait anymore. Will flashing this firmware brick anything ?? I am well aware that the phone will remain locked to my carrier, but is anything else going to be affected ? Anyone had a similar experience ? Your answers are really appreciated.:highfive:
Depends on the phone. Generally, if it is locked to a carrier then other firmwares will fail when trying to flash due to other differences such as the modem/baseband. There are exceptions, but pretty sure they are few and far between.

Hi. I want to flash a Brazilian firmware (dual SIM) into my US hardware (single SIM). Both are Snapdragon. Reason is that I want to use the Brazilian Samsung Pay. Bough the phone in the US but I live in Brazil.
Can I flash THIS ROM without problems? Will it trigger Knox? Any loss in functionality?
Thank you all.

not possible. also, is there not a CSC for your area you can flash instead?
I don't know why these guys say it's not possible, maybe it isn't with your model. I also don't want to give you any bad ideas or anything, so use your own discretion & research.
My phone was unusable when I did this, so I had nothing to lose when I did this (It worked though).
I easily flashed my canadian note 8 with a us firmware using modified odin (must be same version bootloader).
It has warranty status 0x0 (aka, Knox is NOT tripped).
AGAIN, I'm not advising you try this with your model, unless you know what you're doing. I just want to make the information available to you.
Edit: I'm just waiting for someone to upload snapdragon beta 3 one ui 2.0. I'm going to try the same method to convert my Canadian s9+ to USA version.
Edit 2: I can confirm this method works on my Canadian s9+ aswell.

Yeah I don't think it'll work on mine, since it's a single sim phone, and the ROM I wanted was for a dual sim version. Unless of course the hardware is the same and the second SIM slot is present. I could try, but I don't want to risk it. Maybe later when Sammy stops updating the phone.

Unfortunately not. The SM-G965U1 is the US unlocked version. There are only CSCs for American carriers.

if its truly unlocked, then you should already have the U1 firmware on it. Get modded Odin and the U1 firmware, flash it in Odin and go from there. I never looked back after ditching the carrier junk on my phone
Sometime ago I did somethinh like that on my Arabian S7 Edge that I bough in Paraguai, it was Dual Sim model and i flashed ZTO CSC via Odin, and the phone was working well, but i'm not sure if the reverse works, and even the models were similar (F vs FD version) in your case u have 965U vs 9650, I would not take that risk, i thing that a korean or chinese model is 9650 too
look at this picture, US version has more bands so the modem could be different, you can try but you're risking your phone

yep, they are different phones that just so happen to use the same processor. Different bootloader, same chassis for whatever reason. Anyways, there have been threads talking about converting the 9650 to a 965u, but ive never seen anyone confirming that it indeed works. Big risk, but as long as one can get back to Odin mode, one should be good.
I got a Samsung Galaxy A10e from Total Wireless: TWSAS102DCP
Can I flash a custom rom on the phone or will it brick?
I found a way to flash a rom on a A10 phone but it only works for Exynos, how do I check if my phone has that?

Best to check the complete device and model name.
Settings - about phone - model number
With this you can search of it's a snapdragon it Exynos variant.
And I do not recommend to flash firmware files for another device. Risk of bricking it too high.
It seems to be an Exynos model, but maybe network locked.
If the bootloader is unlocked, you could try to flash a custom ROM. If you find one for your exact device model.
