Just got my TF201 last night and I tried out some capacitive pens on it. One thing I noticed, even with my finger, is that a straight line does not come out straight. Using Supernote, i drew lines, curves, circles, letters, and they are all bumpy, as though the digitizer is not making a straight line. This can also be seen from the Developer Options in settings when using Show Pointer Location. On my GNex, it looks perfectly straight. But on the Prime, it's very wavy. Is this just inherent to tablets (maybe the bigger screen means a lower res digitizer) or just to the Prime or just to MY Prime?
I'd post examples but I don't have it with me at the moment.
No one... 22 views and no one has bothered to try it on their tablet?
Confirmed. More noticeable with diagonal lines. I wonder if it is down to the number of digitizer pixels just generating quantisation noise.
got it a bit on mine as well. Also pretty well only on the diagonal lines.
They are not big jumps, but big enough especially if you are planning on doing any precise small lines/writing
EXACTLY!!!! THANK YOu!!!!!!
it must be Prime's digitizer. seems lo res. and yea i notice it most on diagonal lines.
i went to Best Buy and did the same test on the xoom, thrive, and tf101. The digitizer on the TF101 and 201 are much much more responsive, BUT they are bumpy on the diagonal lines, the TF101 did better if i drew faster. But the xoom and thrive were super smooth no matter how slow i went.
very disappointing.
anyone else please?
PS I'll post comparative photos when i can
Have you been able to do hand write any small text? I find its almost impossible to do. It doesn't always like to register the lines when they are small movements. e seems to be one that really doesnt work well, I think because you never move very far from where you start. Not sure if this "threshold" of movement before it decides to draw a line is software based or somehow built into the hardware.
writing small doesn't work well. even on my nexus which has a very nice response. if you use the Supernote, which is a great app (asus stock app), there is a button on the top that you can turn on the writing guide and it's like you are writing on a big piece of lined paper, makes it way easier to just how big to write.
but the diagonal paths still suck.
My old Nexus One has the same problem. Strange why Asus would bundle note-taking apps with a touch panel that clearly isn't designed for it. Hopefully that Atmel maxstylus thing will come to fruition.
on the xoom and thrive, they were perfect.
but the first asus tablet was slight better but still had the same bumpyness.
the prime's is very bumpy.
makes one wonder, who the hell designs and tests (or not tests) these things that cost half a grand. it would seem someone who shouldn't be designing and no one testing designs.

Where does Asus get off putting the Prime out there as a "Premium" Tablet, with so many obvious R&D issues. I understand cost cutting, and while I am upset by that type of approach, the realities of a low margin business like hardware are understandable.
What I do NOT understand is how Asus, a company that traditionally has been know for HARDWARE, and for providing lot's of cutting edge technologies on their motherboards, ended up letting AsusDesign run the show on the Prime. Yes, the "Spun Metal" design was very attractive, and got the attention Techies and Non-Techies alike.
But even if their testing and research were SO POOR as to miss the GPS issue entirely (which I find amazing. If they missed it, they are lame. If they KNEW, they are dishonest. Either way it destroys any respect I had for the company, which they put the final touch on by showing a fixed product, dressed as a NEW product, while people were already fuming over being sold a defective design. I am not trying to dredge up that whole mess again, just saying that they show VERY bad judgement on stuff like this, time after time. Asus would like to be competitive in the Consumer PRODUCT marketplace, but they are still acting like a small HARDWARE Supplier.
Ahh well, I will stop mybellyaching, as it's not productive. But this digitizer performance, once again having the OG Transformer come out working better that the Prime is REALLY starting to Piss ME OFF!!!
I would HOPE, that after Asus gets done wiping the egg off their face (again) that the lesson learned is: 1. Design and TEST, then redesign and Test, etc... a "premium" or superior or bleeding edge device, and when it it truly ready for Prime Time (pun intended) THEN.... 2. Let AsusDesign have their way with it, and then TEST AGAIN, to validate the design does not compromise the function.
I knew Asus was young, but had I known the level of immaturity, and poor judgement when under pressure, I would probably have steered clear of the Prime... I HOPE I would have been that smart, and not let my desire get in the way of common sense.
There is a fairly high percentage of folks who will defend this tablet against ANY argument. I a sick to death of "I use my phone for GPS, why would I need it in a tablet... blah blah blah.
As an engineer, I have the deepest respect for elegant, and innovative design. That what drew me to the Prime, as the OG was quite good, but this promised to up the ante significantly. I also demand, as much as possible that all of my hardware, from my Tablet to my Leaf Blower work AS DESIGNED.
I see exactly what you are referring to un
you might have a problem with your digitizer indeed. try performing this test?

I have same issue on galaxy tab 10.1.
Drawing diagonals really slowly makes them wavy.
Tested the stylus on htc desire - same thing...
Using finger - waves are smaller, almost unnoticeable.

Hello all.
My gorilla glass on my prime is cracked. And I know I could get it replaced by Asus. My question is since they are going to do a full diagonistic on my prime.
Could they replace the LCD screen to the TF700? I mean would that be even possible.
unlikely. If you ever opened a laptop different screens have different "pinouts" as it were for graphics, power, etc. and there are pages of what are called datasheets explaining the peticulars of the screens. Now you CAN replace similar screens from, lets say an HP laptop into an Acer laptop if they are compatable, or a similar run of differently specd laptops may have the same screen module in them. It makes it easier to do repairs.
However on the tablets there is less standardization. A screen module in, say, the iciona tab wont work in the transformer and vice versa. They are too specialized.
If you could somehow get the datasheets for each screen and rewire the connectors to match properly you would also have to code your own linux drivers and insert them into android just so the tab knows what to do with the screen.
That being said there is one ray of hope: Asus being asus they MAY keep compatability between the three transformer screens, meaning the piniouts and specs might be similar enough that you could replace the 700 screen with one from a 300 or the other way around, the only real way to test is to actually try it.
However you run into other issues too, these things are designed so compact that everything is glued / screwed into the screen or casing. If you open a 300 you will notice it is very different construction than the 201, and since the 700 isnt out yet who knows how they will make that one.
Basically, short answer is no, like 98% but im ok with the screen on the prime its good enough for me.
Im currently a tf700 owner. No we have had our issues with the tf700 but for all intents purpose it has served me very well. The keyboard dock is clutch for class note taking and long emailing. Now hearing about the N10 got me excited because i am a huge nexus fan like many of you. However once the design the specs on the N10 came out...i was a little disappointed.
First is the design... I mean WTF seriously plastic again samsung? There is something about having an aluminum body that just make the tf700, ipad and other comparable tablets feel premium. Not to mention warranting a heftier price tag..
Second and MOST IMPORTANT is having no micro sd card slot. This is actually a HUGE issue for alot of people. Now i know alot of you will just say "oh just get the 64 gig versions and you should be fine" or " why do you need even more memory"... but the size is not the problem. The problem for most users is the inability to secure your files in case of a crash or malfunction. When using my tf700, my phone or any mobile device, i always back up all my notes, movies, music and any sensitive documents to the sd card i have mounted in case of a system failure. There isnt a single android device out there ( or any device for that matter) that is not susceptible to a malfunction or crash, including the nexus product ( remember the N7 debacle at the launch...ouch!). On top of the fact that i like to transfer my file easily from one platform to another (desktop to tablet and vice versa, phone to tablet and vice versa...) without the need for whipping out a transfer cable or internet access, it just seems pretty lazy on the part of google and samsung to not include the option. Losing this huge personal security feature alone really turned me off from wanting to purchase.
The last point that really got me disappointed was the screen. Looking at all the comparisons videos online of how the N10 stacks up to the tf700, ipad, Note and N7, most of the reviewers agree that they is very little if not novel difference in the screen in real time use. Most even go as far to say that the battery hit taken by the non significant difference in the screen resolution is a huge turn off for most users.
All in all i wanted to love the new N10 because i am a nexus fan at heart, but there is no way i could justify the purchase with the problems it is already presenting.

Good...one less person in queue ahead of me in the Play store.
I hear a lot of people reasoning with themselves out loud as to why they won't be buying a N10/iPad Mini/MS Surface. This must mean that the tablet wars of 12/12 has officially arrived.

Lol i guess your right, though the surface does look enticing. We will have to see how its ecosystem plays out. I am always up for getting the latest and greatest. But it has to both lol. The n10 is definitely the latest, but missing that microsd really sets it back.

The screen is not an issue. $399 for a screen like that plus the most powerful SOC around is a hook, not the deterrent. lol
I prefer plastic, the ipad 3 was too heavy and plastic is definitely not an ISSUE to anyone except the itards and the Samsung haters.
---------- Post added at 11:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:14 AM ----------
Let me reiterate, a solid and light plastic construction with no creaks or wobbles even from the toughest abuse(Galaxy S3, Nexus 10) or temperature changes is not an issue.
An issue is like massive screen lift, catching on fire, digitizers sticking out from the shell, overheating etc. You know, things that barely ever happen to products that are made out of this "cheap" plastic Samsung uses. These issues tend to only happen to these "amazingly' solid aluminum or non cheap plastic that Asus uses. lol

Alright fair enough, again name calling and insulting is not tolerated on these boards. How about the sd card issue? And the battery drain issue from the screen resolution? Pretty sure thats a "serious issue" as well...
[EDIT:] Just an fyi, the ipad 3 and the N10 weight the same 1.44 pounds...just saying

Most reviews say that the battery life is pretty good. Sure they had to cram in a huge battery like the ipad needed to but that is perfectly fine since it is still light, plastic, and thin. They didn't need to make it fatter than the Note 10.1 like Apple had to make the ipad 3 fatter than the ipad 2. I think the benefits of the ppi in terms of text and marketing is worth the cost,
The micro SD card slot is a negative but I still wouldn't call it an issue. An issue should be used to describe something that is not working as intended by the manufacturer. The plastic construction and lack of micro SD is calculated. you might not agree with the design and design choices but they are not issues.
I say the name calling is slightly justified because the abuse of the word "issue" is a clear signal for a trolling party. In this case, I am guessing that you are not a fan of Samsung and like to troll them. Correct?

No they don't weight the same. I suggest you get your specifications from another website.
From reading the reviews, the battery drain doesn't seem too bad. We will never know for sure until we have some real world testing. Charging through micro usb will be a bit slower.
The sd card is sort of an issue, but I think a usb otg and flash drive/external hdd will suit me well. Also have the option of nas at home that you can download/stream from. No nexus devices have had sd cards so far so if that is really a deal breaker for people I guess it is what it is.
The n10 isn't perfect, but right now I see it as one of the best Android tablets on the market right now.

You should get the specs from google play store and apple official website:
ipad with retina: 662g
nexus 10: 603g
I used 'g' because google play store only shows 'g'

Unfortunately, Google just doesn't want to target your use case. This latest iteration of the tablet UI shows that they are content with a tablet being a large phone. Since Google is primarily targeting media consumption it is not a big deal to waste a good bit of UI real estate on black bars, etc. Likewise, I don't think you'll see a Transformer-like keyboard dock because that is beyond what Google is targeting with the Nexus 10.
I personally don't agree with Google's approach. I want Android/Nexus 10 to be able to have multiple applications on the screen at once like the Windows 8 tablets and have a keyboard dock like Transformers. If I'm going to pay ~$500 for a tablet then it should be more than a phone with a larger screen.

I disagree here. Plastic != always bad. I prefer a soft coated hard plastic to a metal back any day. That's assuming the plastic isn't cheap flexible junk. The metal on the Transformers doesn't really add any real protection, it scratches way too easily, and its generally heavier. In other words, if the plastic is done well then it can be better than a metal backing.
From what I've seen most people enjoy the Nexus 7's plastic and from early reviews people seem to like the Nexus 10's as well.

I agree here, but again, Google simply isn't targeting your use case. In their eyes, the Nexus 10 is a dumb device that acts as a portal to media and if you do view or edit a document then it will be in the cloud.

From what I've seen the screen looks to be pretty great. I'm not sure why you think it would be that much better than the TF700's which already has one of the best screens available. Compared to the TF101 and most other previous Android tablets the Nexus 10 will look phenomenal.
I'm also not sure why you think the Nexus 10's screen will be such a large battery drain compared to the TF700. In reality, we have no idea which screen will be more power hungry. Yes, the Nexus 10 has more pixels than the TF700 but pushing a few extra pixels is nothing compared to backlight power drain. While one could argue that the Nexus 10 having more pixels than the TF700 will require more computational resources. However, the GPU and CPU in the Nexus 10 should be slightly more efficient than Tegra 3 making it mostly a wash. In terms of the backlights, I have no idea which requires more power and I don't think the reviewers do either.
Let's get technical. Definition class!
issues
1an important topic or problem for debate or discussion: the issue of racism raising awareness of environmental issues
(issues) personal problems or difficulties: emotions and intimacy issues that were largely dealt with through alcohol I like him, though I have some issues with the guy
(issues) problems or difficulties, especially with a service or facility: a small number of users are experiencing connectivity issues
Does a plastic construction really fall under a problem? No. More like a solution to a lighter and more heat resistant product. It would be an issue if the construction affected durability or how well the product operates but I highly doubt that.
Is the lack of a micro SD card an issue? I might give him that one if I was really feeling generous but it's a tough sell. Maybe in the right context. If I had to transfer 16.5 gb of files to another system and the Nexus 10 was designed for that specific task then that would be an issue because it wasn't designed with enough memory to accomplish that specific task. However, I wouldn't call the lack of a micro SD card slot an issue or a problem because it was designed that way and manufactured to be that way, it is not a defect,
An issue would be closer to a problem or a defect rather than something that was just was not included on purpose.
Before this becomes even more of a flamefest, I am going to close it.
@pierrekid, I am happy that you are staying with your current tablet and wish you all the best. It is too bad that the N10 specs don't fit your ideal tablet thoughts. Good luck in your future and if you do decide to get an N10, you know where we are.

Sometimes when I hold my tablet in a certain spot (usually right side) and let go... the backing makes some sort of clicking sound. The device doesn't feel flimsy to me, as other have complain... but that noise worries me.
Have others experience this clicking sound when holding their tablet?
Mine did this — it felt like the glue holding the backing in place was coming unstuck. I also found that if I pressed on the back, the pressure point showed on the screen and even engaged the touch sensor.
This along with other annoyances (screen shadow along bottom edge, a dead pixel, diagonal lines on screen and breaking of Firefox Sync by Sony Android OS) made me return it. I expect a $600 to be well-built and last at least 2 years and this glue unsticking spoke of shoddy design and a short product life.
My original Xoom cost the same and is still fully functional and unblemished. I was hoping the Xperia would be a worthy replacement, but it was a disappointment.

Mine makes the same clicking sound. And I also have the "loose headphone flap". I'll ask for an exchange.
I have the same problem with mine. It feels like the glue is not holding well. Hopefully it can be easily fixed by SONY if it start to cause problems.
One more thing. When you press the loose place it makes screen go white, which worries me a little. No problem if you using case but still something like that shouldn't happen in high end device. Maybe it is thinnest tablet but it is not the strongest

I think you got a defective one. If you have the patience to do the exchange-fix dance with Sony or whatever retailer you bought it from and like everything else about the tablet then you should.
If the just-announced Tegra 4 Toshiba Write hadn't caught my eye, I would probably had tried to exchange it to see if I could get a properly glued one, but that Toshiba is the same price, had a newer processor and is designed for my intended use-case (notetaking), so Sony's lose is Toshiba's gain at least in my case.

I got it from newegg, and I suspect they will be good about doing an exchange. That being said, I don't want to do an exchange if this problem is very common. So perhaps I should ask... has anyone NOT experience this issue?
The main reason why I got this instead of the nexus 10, was because of its waterproof nature. I want a tablet I can go to the gym with... and not having to worry about sweat/water was a huge selling point for me.
There's really no way of knowing how widespread the issue is without a proper survey of a representative sample of Xperia Tablet Z owners. People on forums tend to go there with problems they have so forums are full of people with problems Not a great sample.
Ultimately, all that you can realistically do is keep exchanging until you get one you like, or you or Newegg lose patience.

Mine can flex slightly (which triggers recognition on the screen), but I have no clicking sounds or similar things - mine feels very solid and feels top-notch otherwise, but I wouldn't be surprised if Sony's quality control for Japanese units was tighter.
Same thing here SGP321 FROM DUBAI, seems like the glue between the back cover and whatever inside got unstuck...
My xperia tablet Z makes the clicking sound on both the bottom left and right, around the speaker area.
To me it sounds like the paper (or plastic) that is generally found in a (earplug) speaker.
Seeing that the slim design i think it is more then likely that we are pressing on the speaker of the tablet, and not so much the glue coming apart.
If it were the glue then it would most likely be at random places across the tablet. Seeing that we are all reporting the noise in the same general area, which also happens to be the place where the internal speakers are located, i feel that it is the speaker making the clicking (crackling) noise.
Hi look on youtube and search, Opening up Sony's Android Tablet, the Xperia Tablet Z (Teardown) you can see the back cover is stuck on with double sided tape.

I have the same issue. I decided to give it a week or so before returning it to see how much I use it and if there are any other problems. I am nit-picky and the screen colours (greys and whites mainly) are just strange. Greys are red-ish while whites and yellowy, so a screen adjuster app doesn't help at all. Also I get a shadow right around my screen, it's really distracting on things like Falcon Pro in white. The sticky back is still happening and I also found out that I don't really like Android tablets. That, or they're just not ready for me yet. The 16:10 aspect ratio has no advantage to me, just disadvantages, and apps that I want to use just aren't good enough or they're non-existent.
So I'm returning it and waiting for the iPad mini 2. Sorry, but the Nexus 7 felt like a blown up experience of my phone rather than a shrunken down experience of a tablet.
Mister, here are people who use and like Android because of the openness and customizability.
If that isn't important to you, then you are anyway wrong here, and I wish you much fun with your Apple stuff.

I agree with my colors being a little warm, but it's not extreme or bad (my desktop monitor is also set moderately warm). Probably unit variance. What I do have is the 'shadow' on the bottom border, but I'm not unaccustomed to backlight bleed or such. It doesn't bother me much either since usually the black Android system bar is there to begin with.
Sounds like Sony's quality control isn't very tight on international units...

What I do have is the 'shadow' on the bottom border, but I'm not unaccustomed to backlight bleed or such. It doesn't bother me much either since usually the black Android system bar is there to begin with.
Sounds like Sony's quality control isn't very tight on international units...

My monitors are every so slightly yellowy, but I was able to use that with a slight colour value change. It seems mine just has odd variables on different tones... quite a bit like my old Galaxy Nexus was like (Yellow whites, green greys and purple dark greys). That's actually why I really dislike AMOLED, so it's a bummer that this IPS panel isn't as accurate as I'd like.
And yeah, really doesn't like they're super tight on the international side. I didn't really want to bother with what could have been back and forth replacements.

Mister, here are people who use and like Android because of the openness and customizability.
If that isn't important to you, then you are anyway wrong here, and I wish you much fun with your Apple stuff.

Well look at that, I do actually use and like Android (it's the only mobile OS I use right now). It's just the tabs that aren't up to snuff for me. Openness and customisability is only a good thing if it actually helps make something more useful for me. I find those aspects very useful on my phone. I need to be quick and efficient and I can do that on an Android, but not really on an iPhone. A tablet serves a different purpose for me. It's a leisure/convenience device, I don't need any customisation for it to allow me to do anything faster. Also, my phone has a ton of apps and absolutely all of the ones I want, this Xperia tab doesn't, and definitely not all the apps I consider essential.
Sorry that I have different needs and wants than you, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not wrong in being here because 1) I own the tablet that's in question here and 2) I use Android as my only mobile OS right now and I'll still be using it on my phone for a long time. I wasn't trying to start some petty flame war here, I was just explaining my issues with this tablet and elaborating on why I'm returning it. So let's stay on topic here, huh?
If you're looking for a leisure device, wouldn't 16:10 be more ideal for movies? But I agree on the lack of proper tablet optimized apps. What exactly do you want to do on your tablet though?
If it's web browsing, I feel Android will always deliver a superior experience (I have long tired of constantly reloading tabs on the iPad 3). If it's gaming... well, no argument, iOS usually gets more games.

Well I don't really watch much video away from my PC anyway, and I hardly ever watch any movies either. You've hit the nail on the head though, it's what I plan to do on it that makes the difference. I do a lot of social media stuff, reading, some browsing, games and a bit of video. Reading is far better on a 4:3 screen in portrait. I like 16:9 in portrait on my PC for reading, but trust me it's very different on a tablet. Also, I can't even get a half-decent way of using Facebook on the XTZ either. The official app is awful and Friendster which is supposed to be great is honestly rubbish.
Really it's just something to waste time on, read stuff on and be a convenient portable web browser. A 10" tablet isn't very convenient tbh and the Nexus 7 isn't either when it's so similar to my phone that's already in my pocket. An 8" 4:3 screen is a lot different from a 4.7" or 7" 16:10 screen. It's big enough to be something I want to use over my phone in some situations and small enough that it can travel most places quite easily.
It's just personal preference, it's been said a million times, but I think you already know that. Back on topic though.
Hello,
I'm looking to buy this phone. I currently have an Axon 7, but I can potentially return it if I order soon, and this phone is half the price for similar specs.
Therefore, I wish to know a few things, if anyone will oblige:
1. Can people please take some screenshots of the interface? I want to see just how cancerous the skin is. Specifically, I would like to see settings.
2. Can someone get me LxW measurements on the screen please? I thought 5.5 wouldn't be much smaller than six, but it turns out it almost fits on that screen. I love phablets!
2.5. Can somebody run some benchmarks? I'd be particularly interested in seeing The slingshot one from 3dMark.
3. How'd you say the camera is, in your subjective experience?
3.5. As presumably the folks here have followed development fairly closely.... how's it looking for Lineage/CM/Something else close-ish to stock? If video recording is the only issue, I have no problem with that.
4. Anything else I should know?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
you can find most of those info on YouTube and gsmareana.
btw why would you return your axon 7 for a max 2?

All you ask is in youtube.
Actually, it isn't, hence why I came here. I know the rules. Look and then ask for help, my annoyance is how often I do and am dismissed out of hand by people who don't realize that several hours of googling for some obscure answers can be otherwise resolved in a few minutes f their kindly donated time with a ruler and some perspective, and that's when Google does actually have something. In this case, I'm confident to say it lacks what I'm interested in knowing in more than superficial detail.
Or at least, 4 hours into YT and written reviews and I have yet to see what I'm asking for. Please, if you're going to tell someone to just google it, make sure it actually will help, and if not, don't waste time with such an answer.
I've seen only the launcher a very quick look at the settings root, and no dropdown for notifications in that time.
As to photos, I trust the people here to be more in my camp in terms of expectations. The cam looks sharp enough.
Nobody has yet listed the screen dimension in anything but the diagonal, and I don't have a good point of reference for that. I also see fairly rampant issues w/ the fp scanner, and id be interested to know whether those have abated.
As to why I would replace an Axon 7 with it... the 7 is $513 cad. The LE Max 2 is $270 cad. 47% cheaper. It's a lot of money to leave on the table if the differences are negligible.

if you want know more info about the interface there are plenty of videos on eui.. and there are plenty of benchmarking videos too.. why waste 4 hours?
if you don't like the stock launcher, install something like Nova or Pixel.

Of the phone, not the screen, I want the screen dimensions and I'd rather have avoided having to do algebra to get it. I checked GSMarena already. I did get some of the more obvious things like Benchmarks out of the way, along with photos, but I don't trust the interface to remain the same on a generic branding.... I wanted to see it specifically on this phone, and every review I've found, if they even address such things, only offers brief flash of the root menus.
One thing I would really like to know it's almost certain the reviews don't touch upon.... how is the hitbox for the capacitive buttons? I have a BLU Pure XL too, and those are extremely narrow, it's quite annoying.

Standard size hitbox, warriors rogues dks should still stay behind the boss, ranged attacks should still be made from max range 30-40 yrds.
Used screen size is 126mm x 71mm. Will answer more when I can, not had it long.
Well, I bit.
The Axon 7 is nice, but if we're being realistic I mostly just use my phone for web browsing anyway. Paying $513 for that doesn't make much sense when I can get similar specs for $270. We'll see. Worst case scenario I suffer with it for a while and then just buy a flagship when my cheap ass finally learns its lesson.

I've been in your camp 1.5 years ago. Coming from Xperia, I said I want to buy a cheap one until a good flagship comes out. And so I bought the Le 1s, a 200$ phone when it just came out. I have to say that I was impressed that I can do whatever I need with it with so much ease, and it doesn't have to cost a kidney.
However, when Le Max2 came out, I ordered it immediately and handed over the 1s to my mom who is still using it without problems as we speak.
The interface is the same, I can tell you that there are no big differences, so if you will google the interface of any LeEco phone, it will be the same as on Max2 as far as I'm concerned.
The screen is a bit bigger than on the 5.5" phones and thus the footprint is taller and wider. Somehow a little difficult to sit with it in the front pocket. I remove it when driving, sitting at the table, most of the times I forget to take it out when I'm putting my shoes on and I do feel it.
Should I ask, why not go for the Pro3 when it has a bigger battery, FHD 5.5" screen, better CPU? The difference between FHD and QHD were tested with a photo taken from a mirrorless camera and it turned out it's very hard to spot the better sharpness on Max2 than on Le 1s.
I would go for the Pro3 now but my dad is yet to get used to touchscreen phones, so I'll keep it a bit more.
Considering the price/ what you get, as of now, I'd still go with LeEco anytime. The thing to keep in mind is to order it 2-3-4 months after release because the price would have dropped significantly.

My brother has a OP3T, and while I won't say there's anything inherently wrong with 1080, I can definitely see a difference in images on my 2K Blu Pure XL. I need a phone that has ROMs available, as I really don't trust the Chinese to design a non-garbage OS, and a major part of the allure for the Le Max 2 was the 5.7" screen. I'd have taken just shy of six if I could've gotten it, but alas, some compromises must be made.
It'd also be simple insanity to argue against a $270 price point on a phone that people say isn't inherently flawed (aka: not garbage). The axon 7 costs $513, for services/components I'm unlikely to use (I rarely put anything on phone speakers, and rooting would void their warranty anyway - plus, I take impeccable care of my devices).
Then go for it if you're into a bigger screen. 270 cad will sure be a cheap purchase but I do suggest to go for 4/64 version for few bucks more. I have 4/32 and after transferring some pictures from my camera, keeping some ROMs, apps, having my own pictures in, looks like some 4-5 GB left. I'd have to clean to use multirom Also go for the Grey version as the Rose Gold is too pinkish depending upon the light, but it's mostly pink...
To keep it short:
Pros:
- big screen
- sufficient RAM and a very good CPU
- easy to tinker with
- USB C
- Dual SIM
- cheap
- practically unbrickable
Cons:
- somehow twistable up to some extent, but nothing major; you can bend it back with your own hands, and had never been an issue
- quite large for the pocket
- camera could've been better
This is my opinion about the Max2. I would buy it again if you'd ask me

Do you know if they make this in a gold (yellow) colour?
I cancelled my order because while the images and colour description said "Golden", their chat reps insisted it would be Rose Gold, which doesn't do it for me.
They do have Gold (as they call it Force Gold) which is like normal yellow version. The other Gold is Rose Gold.
Do search for "Force Gold" color.
