Hi There!
I installed ressurection remix on my galaxy s3 and set up a gesture screen lock (not pattern). Now I can not access my phone and there is no way to bypass it by giving my gmail address and password.
I really don't want to reset my phone now.
Thank you for your help!

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
Unfortunally with the gesture is not possible to bypass, i would suggest you to make a nandroid backup from the recovery and then flash everything back by making also a factory reset. Further with Titanium you will be able to restore the apps.
Good luck!

Don't panic flash aroma file manager(google it for link) in cwm and go to /data /system and delte gesture.key and lockscreen.db gesture will be removed when you will boot back and also don't forget to mount /system under mounts and storage section of cwm recovery.

The only way to remove the password is to boot into recovery and use Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
Hello,
I have recently rooted my Galaxy S3 and today I tried to encrypt it in order to get access to my Exchange account (requires encrypted device). When I select encrypt device from the settings menu, I get very briefly the Android picture (with its guts open) but after one or two seconds, the screen goes blank, the phone restarts and it is not encrypted.
I have rooted my phone using the CF mod and ODIN.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
P.S. The S3 is running Android 4.3.
Thanks
Hi,
i've encountered the same issue. The fix however is quite simple. Boot into recovery and then select "wipe data". After that, you can encrypt without any problems. But keep in mind that all your data will be lost, better make a backup before
Cheers

I've tried to wipe data/reset the device, but the problem remains on my GS3.
hey guys please help me,
I got an Xperia Z from my Friend rooted and all that. he wants to lock that someone can wipe his system, so i flashed him twrp and locked it with an Password theme, whichs is working.
Problem is although it asks for an password if you boot into the recovery directly, it still wipes if i reset the phone with my normal settings.
can someone please tellme how can i rmove or disable or hide the Backup and Reset Tab in the Settings of the Xperia??
Thanks in Advance tho
You can set up a passcode/PIN/Pattern/etc to stop access to the Settings app itself, but have never seen a way to hide 1 specific thing in the Settings. If the phone is encrypted with a password, I think it requires the code before resetting, but am not 100% sure of that.
I have a big problem with s6 edge 925f
I updated to nougat
And i activated pre activation lock
Then i formated it yesterday and it reuires samsung account
I entred the one i last used on it and it shows
Sign in
Processing then nothing happens
I sent to resolve on z3 oro box but it makes a problem with the memory it shows no free memory
The account and password are correct sure about that
What can i do
Somebody help me

did it , make no difference
HEllo, i have Reddmi note 4 global
With Lineage 14.1 + Franco KERNEL + MAGISK.v16
make ALL the WIPES BUT the unlock pattern he keeps asking me when turning on the device or in TWRP.
also my name appears...
What happens if tomorrow I want to sell it? I should give this information to the buyer..
I would like to remove this pattern forever, every time the device is started, and I even ask for it in the TWRP.
it's possible?
Try formatting the data partition. Format - not wipe.
PS: this will also wipe all data on your internal memory - so you had better have all that data backed up.

Hi, thanks to both, I managed to fix it, re-activating the fingerprint and disabling the start option. Then I turned it off again.
You have to remove the safe startup option.
Greetings and thanks.
