I am not a developer, I am just an advanced user who likes playing around with android.
I am a big fan of HTC sense roms mainly because of their stability. After I updated to the latest version of lollipop 5.02, everything was smooth until i realized lagging and slowness in the system with prolonged use. So i decided to unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery and try out different custom roms.
I must say there are some nice roms out there but my favorite is the Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.6. This rom is very fast, smooth, snappy, with a ton of customization and most important its very stable. But like all other Cyanogenmod roms there where some bugs, that to me where critical. So I decided to go back to stock sense rom and make this patch.
The aim of the patch is to make a stable clean fast Sense-less rom.
It is made for Stock roms only​
The patch:
Removes all the sense apps and widgets in the stock 5.02 rom
Removes all 3rd party apps that can be downloaded from the playstore
Installs Nova launcher as a replacement to the HTC launcher
Installs SELinuxModeChanger by MrBIMC (needed if you are planning to install xposed framework
Replaces the stock wallpapers and bootanimation with the new Marshmallow ones
Removes bootup sound

(Sense widgets can be enabled in any launcher after installing xposed framework)

Please make a backup of your current Rom before installing​
Requirements
1- Unlocked bootloader with custom recovery (prefer TWRP)
2- Rooted Stock 5.02 rom
Installation (Clean Install is preffered)
1- download De_sense_patch_v1.x.zip
2- copy to sd card
3- boot into recovery
4- wipe data factory reset
5- install patch
6- reboot (First boot will take a while)

Optional
1- Before flashing the patch you can unzip it and edit it the way you like
for example:
if you want to keep the stock htc browser goto META-INF\com\google\android and open the updater-script using notepad++ and remove the following line
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/Browser");
2- After updating all your system apps you can move them back to the system partition to free up space in the user storage partition using the Move_apps_to_system_partition.zip (download and extract on your device or pc)
for example updated htc lock screen
using any root explorer go to root/data/app (contains all downloaded apps) and copy the updated htc lock screen folder to Move_apps_to_system_partition/system/priv-app (same as its location in the system partition) and rename to HtcLockScreen (both folder and apk inside) (name should be exactly the same as the one in system partition)
re zip and flash from recovery (make sure its .zip not rar or 7z)
This will replace the system apk with the updated one and remove it from the user storage.
You can also do this for any app to free up space on the user storage partition (copy them to the app folder)
3- Install Xposed framework (Install this version xposed-v75-sdk21-arm.zip)

thank you for this. i would like to use your patch to declutter my system but i don't know what is a stock rom ? i am a noob here.
so far i have unlocked and rooted my phone, i am running the carbon rom v4.4.4.
Does stock rom refer to the official htc rom which can be found on their web site ?
my phone is htc desire 816ul.

This is just a simple script that removes sense files so I am pretty sure it will work on all variants.

Nice ! I'll try that later. I suppose a backup is better before running your script. So it only removes sense apps and nothing else ?
It install another launcher but is it possible to keep the launcher3 launcher with BlinkFeed ? Kinda the reason why I got myself a HTC before hand.

if you want to keep the stock htc launcher, before u flash
unzip the patch and goto
META-INF\com\google\android
open the updater-script using notepad++ and remove the following line
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/Prism);
re zip and flash

Ok thanks ! How much room do you get removing all this ? Enough space to add your preferred apps ? My sd is full and I was thinking about going back to kitkat to get a bit of space. Any news from the people who tried this mod ?

Our devices have 8GB of storage. They are divided into 2 partitions: system partition 4GB (system files) and data partition 4GB (user apps and files)
The system partition is where the script works. So u wont feel any difference in storage size.
U can make use of the extra space in the system partition by moving your apps to it like facebook twitter etc... As explained in the OP.

Yes I know about the storage. Problem with mine is, since lollipop, system partition is full 4gb/4gb and user partition has around 300-400 mb free, so with around 20 personal apps, I can't update system or sense files( by sense files I mean HTC apps like zoe or HTC car etc..) and my apps neither.

I have 21 personal apps installed on the system partition with 650mb of space left
All my sense apps are updated and moved to system partition.

This should be for S-OFF devices, otherwise no files will be touched in /System ryt?

Tried TWRP. No effect. It seems the changes are reverting as mine is S-ON.
