When it calls the hotspot Verizon comes up and says that I need to subscribe. Is Foxfi working on this phone for anybody out there?
USB tethering through PDANet+, part/is FoxFi, works fine for me. The wi-fi doesn't work because I have the locked AT&T LG-H900 phone.
I have Verizon and I can't find anything to work.
Finally got it working.

On Verizon V10. Foxfi was working.. Now it won't start tethering. Gives me the error to contact customer service to add tethering. Anyone have any ideas on fixes.?
This guy claims a fix, but I call BS:

Stop calling BS! Why do I need to lie?
Here's the story... I work for a Verizon dealer and noticed this app called DT_Ignite downloading useless games on everyone of my customers phones while I am trying to transfer their stuff. This software obviously is loaded by the carrier and has permissions to install software in the background without your permission. I disabled it from the minute I turned the phone on. As a result, my phone didn't get the push update that EVERYONE else on verizon got. Trust me I have had NUMEROUS calls and text asking why foxfi isn't working. Here is your proof.

I can test this on new V10's that haven't received the update due to them still being in my stores inventory to see if my theory is correct. All I am trying to do is help you poor unlimited customers find a way back in the game!

Could the security updates/certificates be removed by restoring to stock, and removing that app without Sim card?

I disabled DT Ignite from day one on the phone as well. Has remained disabled... And my foxfi died mid Xbox live stream. Don't get me wrong. All of us would love to see a work around! Please share if you have it working! Thanks.

Just what the title says does the new Tmobile HTC amaze have the wifi calling app? I ask because Tmobile website does not list it. So anyone with the phone that can verify would be appreciated. ;-)

yes it does, You will have to use the SIM card in the box or go get a new one for it to work. I had a less than half year old card and it did not work so I had to get a new one for it to work
Ok great so it does have it than. That's weird the website does not list that app for that phone. Is there any way you can show me a screen shot or video with the app in app drawer? Something.

For all Calls
Only for internet Calls
Ask for each Call

OK, got some info. The Amaze 4G does not have wifi calling at this time, though HTC is working on an update that'll include it. No ETA for that update.

Looks like it's because he had the version 1.35 firmware on his phone. The newer 1.36 version must have removed it.
Maybe there was a problem with it that HTC is trying to correct?
EDIT: Come to think of it, maybe there was is an issue with how the implementation changed between the Amaze and the Sensation. The Sensation used the "standard" method that the previous Android phones used, a WiFi Calling app, looks like HTC tried to change it up in Sense 3.0 and it may have caused some problems.

Talked to a T-Mobile tech, obviously they usually know nothing, but she read a legit sounding email memo, along with the fact that the previous version seems to have had wifi calling, and that our manual says how to connect to wifi calling, you would assume they'd bring it back after whatever they are fixing. (hopefully anyways)
have the new sim in my amaze and I see no sign of wifi. I noticed you have to set up the 911 address on the website, so I did and nothing. I wonder if I have to wait for tmobile to recognize it.
so what is the verdict here? is wifi calling present or not? also is hotspot working? i brought back the gs2 because hotspot is now blocked on it and it didnt have wifi calling

You broke the terms so your paying the price. AYCE does not permit tethering only the one plan dies it's stated in the terms.
Give it a few days and try again but not sure if you can do anything as they would have logged it I guess.

Hello iEthos,Recently got the 3 network text 900 and with all data you can eat ,which is not the one plan and i can't tethering with my Xperia play,Is blocking me out every time i am trying it.I used several apps to try tether also the app above which they reccomned it to you at this threat, i have tried it to my normal firmware and the updated one, and also i have tried it in my ics 4 firmware which i got the guide from here,So when you said you put a different Rom and then it worked which one you put it? And If you do not know,Do anyone else know what solve this problem?
I was able to bypass the tethering block by using a user agent switcher.
You can find some more details on it here - http://gezby.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=69
You can't bypass the block, come plans (eg One Plan) specifically allow you to tether, ergo no block. Your plan clearly doesn't allow you to tether, ergo block. Deal with it...

I would like to bypass three (3) uk's tethering block. I have tried various apps and even user agent switching but still no luck. Please help.

Hi mate thanks for taking the time and consideration to try and help me. I have now found away to tether on my laptop which was the problem but its only half as good because i have to browse in mobile web browsing mode not full laptop/pc mode. I realised my tethering works for other phone and tablets all except pc's and laptops. I found out that its due to the user agent, 3 blocks pc/laptop mode user agents so if you change your pc/laptops user agent to mobile web browsers agent then it works fine. Back then it used to work for me without using user agents about 6 months ago.
My question is how do i browse in full pc mode on my laptop? by using chrome beta? you dont need any other tricks?
Im on all you can eat data + 300 cross network minutes and unlimited texts for = £10 p/m.

Would you mind installing the speedtest.net app and running a test? If you are getting 3G speeds with AT&T then it should work the same with Tmobile. I'm just confused because the specs on the Gearbest site say that its frequency is: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz WCDMA 850/2100MHz. Which would mean that it gets the pokey slow 2G edge speeds in the US. As far as I know the WCDMA needs to be 1900MHz for it to work with US 3G/4G networks.
Right now the watches are on the way to Maryland. I dropshipped them from everbuying to a customer on ebay. The customer said they didn't work so I had them shipped to me and it turned out their tmobile Sims weren't activated. I used my att Sim from my gears and it said 3g. I don't know about speed but I do have a picture of it showing 3g. When the customer gets them I'll have them do speed test and I'll report on here.

I think the carrier unlocked Snapdragon Note8 is the best option for people in the USA, more specifically people using CDMA carriers.
From what I undersand you can use your hotspot as a normal feature without any additional fees, without root.
No bloatware is installed including carrier specific apps, eg. Verizon Voicemail. I don't know if the missing bloatware will be available to download from the Playstore.
You lose Wi-Fi calling features because it has it's own firmware, with the exception of T-Mobile.
From what I understand you can ODIN your carriers firmware to gain all the missing carrier specific features and bloat but you will probably lose the free hotspot. I don't know if you can go back to the unlocked firmware after that.
If I'm missing anything or have any errors please comment and let me know! :highfive:
ALSO NO ROOT
which makes it useless to me

Not actually true on T-Mobile: Wi-Fi Calling works on T-Mobile with the unlocked firmware. Apparently other carriers are more strict and limit it to their specific firmwares though.

I just woke up from the nightmare of the unlocked version, which I had dreamed of for years. Even though I called Samsung and Verizon in advance, they both assured me wifi calling would work. It did NOT, and Samsung tech told me just yesterday they had just become aware of that shortcoming, and it only pertains to Verizon customers. Works on all other carriers. In addition, no Verizon visual voicemail, although there are other, less desirable options in the Playstore. However, there was no notification received if I had any incoming voicemail messages. It just added up to too many things, and I had to compromise my firm stand on an unlocked phone. Too many cons to offset the pros. People on other networks than Verizon might not mind, or those not requiring wifi calling. Sent phone back and will have to get Verizon version. Still getting over the N7 loss. Samsung, I love you less and less.
I feel like this is the first time I've seen Verizon being supported on an unlocked version in the USA. But it probably started with the S8.
There are a pretty good amount of bugs to be "compatible with Verizon Wireless".

You can still flash the Verizon firmware and it is as if you bought the Verizon version....even get OTA updates from Verizon...
I was thinking to flash unlocked firmware to my t-mo branded phone, but I don't see much T-mo bloatware and some can be disabled anyway. Is there any chance somebody could take a screen shot of system applications on unlocked phone for comparison? Maybe some things are hiding under obscure names.
I hope we are slowly moving towards one hardware, one firmware for all carriers with carrier specific programs downloaded after purchase as a voluntary update maybe? Already ,as it is, we can cross flash firmware from all carriers, what we should be able to do is to just flash carrier specific modem and few carrier feature programs and be done, without touching base firmware at all.
I've got everything working on mine besides VVM & WiFi Calling; wish I could have my cake & eat it too!
I'm a little confused about wifi calling. I'm on US99830B using a Straight talk sim. I found out they offer wifi calling now. I just need a new sim from them. But, does it work with the version of Pie that I'm on? I thought I read that it didn't but I see others saying it does.

Straight Talk what? Straight Talk AT&T, Straight Talk Verizon, Straight Talk T-mobile, Straight Talk Sprint?
You can't just say Straight Talk. Straight Talk uses underlying carriers and many options depend on those carriers. For instance, since T-mobile allows Wi-Fi calling on US998 (which is NOT a T-mobile branded phone), any Straight Talk T-mobile account would probably also have Wi-Fi calling.
But since AT&T does NOT allow Wi-Fi calling on non-AT&T branded phones, then neither will Straight Talk AT&T.
So, you need to find out what particular carrier your Straight Talk SIM card is using, if you don't already know. There are codes and colors that will tell you that. Straight Talk will tell you if you ask hard enough. They like to pretend they are this standalone company, but they are just re-selling the 4 major carrier services but with lower prioritization and adding lag.
I used to have Straight Talk AT&T and eventually dumped them to go to what is now AT&T Prepaid. I was already using AT&T carrier services and the part that kept screwing up was Straight Talk's fault. So, I cut out the middleman.
You're right, I forgot to mention that. It's ATT

Don't think so, since it's not an AT&T branded phone. (For some reasons iPhones or at least some iPhones seem to be an exception.)
But check this link. It's for all Tracfone companies.
Good luck.

The link tells me exactly what I said. I would need a new sim card. But, my question was is wifi calling even working on US99830B?

It does. I forget exactly how to enable it, but it does. My carrier on the lock screen says T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling

Yeah, T-Mobile allows it. Not sure AT&T does. I know it doesn't on AT&T Prepaid on US998.
