Graphite coloring coming off - Nexus 6P General

After one week of totally normal use, you can see the coloring coming off near the camera, particularly underneath. Luckily I ordered an Aluminum one also. As much as I love the graphite, I'm not confident the whole thing won't look like this in a few months.

Wow

The Graphite I returned arrived out of the box with specs coming off like that.
Bending, color coming off, units arriving damaged. This phones turning into a cheap piece of rubbish.

glad i got alu

My graphite isn't showing that yet, hopefully never.

May need to cancel my pending order.
Out of curiosity did you ever rest it on its back.. This isn't good..

Are you laying it on a rough table that causes the paint to come off? I have graphite as well and it doesn't happen to me probably because I know the paint will come off so I put it on a soft fabric platform when I lay the phone down. Granted, that shouldn't happen though.

WhaWey isn't known for its premium devices. Did you happen to snap a picture of your RMA'd device before you sent it back? I'd like to see it if you did take a shot before sending it back to Goggle.

Well, it only seems to be on the chamfered edges, which is a wear surface. Not saying i'm justifying it, but it is a wear surface if you're setting it down.
But should have been more resistant...mine arrives tomorrow.

You could get a wrap for it. But it sucks that the paint is coming off. I have a graphite on it's way to me now. Hope the case protects it.

Glad I ordered a Ringke case that should arrive same time as my 128Gb Graphite.

yikes

Looks like someone was rubbing it. Doesn't look like paint chipping/whatever. Imo

I don't even sit down my plastic G3 on tables/desks without something soft underneath so I guess I'll need to continue that behavior. It should be more resistant though.

This is very common and bound to happen for black colour on anodised aluminium unless the phone is used inside a case always and like intensive care patients. The same thing was observed when apple launched iPhone 5. There is a reason why in the later days pure black colour on anodised aluminium was dropped and space grey was adopted.

I think it gives it character ?. I'm still gonna rock my graphite naked.

DIY NT Case/Disguise!

Unsatisfied with the various overpriced and under-featured armors available for the NT, I decided to make my own.
I wanted it to be capable of freestanding in either screen orientation, provide screen protection during transportation, give access to all physical buttons/ports without removing from case, be affordable to produce, and NOT LOOK LIKE A FANCY, EXPENSIVE, AND EASILY STOLEN TABLET( i live in miami, fl )!!!
Here's what I came up with:

Cardboard, duct tape, and shoe strings. MacGyver would certainly be proud!
Hey! Those "shoestrings" are 550 lb. test parachute cord! It's tactical. :what:

Love me some 550 cord and duct tape. What can I say? Nice job!
Very nice! Can you post some pics of how you access the side buttons?
hahahahahahah now THAT is friggin AWESOME!!! start an Amazon store to sell them!!

Certainly. Wish I had something more glamorous than a hole cut through with an x-acto, but thats exactly what it is. Added pics of all ports and buttons as well.
Note: The black stuff that you can see in the pic of the usb port is a piece of that foamy, non-slip shelf liner. It does a fair job of keeping the nook from slipping out of the case, while still allowing it to be easily removable.
Another note: I've made another one of these, with black corrugated plastic instead of cardboard, and black duct tape instead of silver. Looks much more... civilized. Unfortunately, pics will have to wait, as the new one was kidnapped by my father for his nook tablet.

You sound like me ... When my kids were younger, they thought I could make anything they needed. Those tablet covers are ridiculously priced and necessity is the mother of invention. Besides, everyone knows duct tape works for everything except ducts . Duct tape comes in so many colors and combined with electrical tape...I bet enthusiasts can come up with some nice looking covers (and still have their tabs protected)
Psst...way to rub in your CM7. Bet you are enjoying it, I opted to wait and see what issues it would have, but I can't say I'm not salivating over the possibilities

Funny, and true. I prefer not to throw money at a problem. I'd much rather throw brains and sweat ( that didn't come out right... :what: ).
I think you made a good decision to wait. I installed cm7 before any of the bugs were discovered. If I'd known, I probably would have held off. I'm experienced with PCs, but quite new to android. I'm salivating as much as everyone else for the upcoming revision.

This is indeed very cool.
I was considering doing something like this but using olive green gaffe tape, 550 card and some black spray paint with a stenciled "n" on it. Kinda like a para-military nook case. Maybe when I get another job (damn you economy, damn you to hell) I'll go get the tape, tape and stencil material. I already have 200 yards of 550 cord and plenty of cardboard.

Sena Ultraslim (white/white) mini review, pics

I've had my ultraslim for about 5 days now and had a pm from a member here regarding it, so figured I'd post a few pics and a mini review. First off, good customer service. About a week and a half went by after I ordered and I had not received my case yet (I'm in PA, they're in CA i believe). I called up and the rep said it appeared it might've gotten lost by usps due to the tracking not being updated. No questions asked he sent me another via Fedex priority and I had it two days later.
Pics and then a bit more info:

First, I definitely like this case. With the size of the note, I was way too hesitant to drop good money on something that would make it any bigger. I've never used a pouch for a phone before but I'm liking this. White on white looks great too, to me. Have had some compliments on it already.
Fit: I received my case literally as I was going out the door to go to the gym. As I immediately noticed that my phone kept rebooting every time I put the phone in the case, and when it was on, the volume kept changing. I realized the inner seams were pressing up against the buttons. I was very upset at first, and then realized I just had to put it in a bit crooked so the seams run along the edge of the buttons rather than on them, not a big deal. Took about a few days for my case to start breaking in and now the note fits snugly but easily pulls in and out of the case. Also note that the case has kind of formed to the 'crooked' way that I put the note in. It's not like I need to make sure I'm avoiding the seams when I put the phone in, it just slides in exactly how I want it to now.
I rock my note upside down in the case, since I have BLN on. All I have to do is lift up the top flap a bit and I can see if I have notifications.
Protection: Obviously it'll keep away scratches. Drop protection... it really is thin. However, I'd be fairly confident that on a regular drop, the case would save it. It's basically just a thin layer of leather, but I think it's enough to absorb the shock. It's like the difference between the metal cased iphones and plastic phones... just a little bit makes a difference. That said, I'm not going to test it. But it really does add essentially no noticeable bulk or weight, and gives you a better grip when removing it from your pocket.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Very classy looking, thanks for the share.

$35. And I don't quite understand your question... See you asking if your phone with case attached will fit in the pouch? No.. It's designed to perfectly fit the phone. Then again I don't know how thick your case is but I highly doubt it and aren't sure why you'd use both

Samsung Book Cover case for 7'' Tab

So I've been looking for this case but it's always been too expensive everywhere. I found this one but I'm not familiar with this site. Has anyone ever used them before? Looks like a really good deal.

That looks pretty good. If it didn't already have the expensive cover I would try that one.
I like the way it can stand up at 2 different angles, I wish it could stand vertically though.

not endorsing brands mart, however they had the oem case for $38. I bought one their, other electronics I bought their went yours tits up before 6 months, so caution on everything else.
I just bought this case a few hours ago from my local store here in Dubai. It fits well on my tab. But the problem is that the hinge next to the camera hole is quite narrow. Every time I close it, it touches the power button unexpectedly causing a restart. Maybe it will differ on other stocks of this item.
I'm not using the camera that much so instead of opening the cover to the right, I rotated the tab covering the lens and made it open to the left.
Be careful after a month or so you might end up with fraudulent charges on the card you use, I did.
Yea, I wasn't sure about using that site so I ordered one of the Poetic cases from Amazon. I had one on my old ASUS Transformer and liked it. Good price too.

I wouldn't bother with that one. I bought this from eBay and I can't believe how practical, sturdy and well-made it is. And matches my Tab2's color

I ordered this case last week, so far I like it a lot. It's slimmer than Samsung version and I like the way the felt part that covers the screen doesn't end up on the outside of the case when you open it and set it down. I was worried about getting dirt on the felt and scratching my screen.
I also like that the cover latches without needing the elastic strap, although it does have one. It also stands at 2 different angles.
It does smell very plasticy, hopefully that will go away soon.

Why would you plasti-dip your back cover......just curious....however the paint scheme looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger's make-up in Conan The Barbarian movie!!!
I've tried using that stuff before and it will eventually start peeling off.

I hate putting cases on my phones, especially something this massive. I felt like the back of the Note3 was so slippery, so rubber coating it was my best option. For the record I love it. The grip is awesome and it makes the whole phone feel more substantial when it's in my hand. The coating also makes vibrate less obnoxious when the phone is resting on a hard surface.
As far as peeling I'm hoping it won't be a problem for a while. I literally went through almost an entire can just on this back cover so it's on there fairly thick. 10+ thick coats lol.
Looks gorgeous. Always wanted to try some sort of coating for better grip on my note 2. Doubt it'll look that good though that looks fantastic

That's a pretty cool pattern. How did you do that...with some kind of template or something? I never heard of plasti-dipping.
Nice thing about plasti-dip is if you get tired of it, you can peel it off and try another color or pattern.

I actually did it with a paper plate. I would hold it over a certain area and was doing short bursts of paint with the spray can across certain areas, alternating white and black til I ended up with an overall look that I liked.
Plasti-dip is cool because it covers really well and you don't have to prime or prep the surface. And as someone else mentioned you can just peel it right off when you don't want it any more.
I had hoped, with a previous phone, that the adhesiveness would have been better with this spray, but in less than a week, it started peeling off on its own.

Tech21 Case

Received my Tech21 case yesterday. I have to say, it's awesome. Of course I threw it on the ground as soon as I installed the case I'm impressed. It fits nicely and is a lot smaller than I thought it'd be. With the Tempered Glass screen protector, this phone should be able to withstand any normal fall. Shipping from the UK didn't take as long as I thought it would either. Very pleased. The only issue I see is the style of plastic is "hard" not the softer type. I'm used to Incipio Feather cases and they have a softer more "grippy" feel. (I know; use your Big Boy words.) Anyway, I recommend this over an Otterbox, unless you need to protection from water. This will not protect from water damage.

Those cut outs are huge... It looks nice with the exception of the abnormally large spaces on the back and ports. It seems like companies think it's too hard to make it a perfect cut out similar to Spigen on the back.

i love this case and the grip it gives. the cutouts are large but i am sure that is to ensure all/any cable would fit.

You have a good point because the stock cable is rather large. I wonder if the large cut out on the back was to prevent any interference between the case and laser.

Yeah my spigen case for my s4 wouldnt let me use my aux cable i had for my car. And i had to find a fitting cable which was annoying.
As for on the back around the camera the larger/wider cutouts probably work better as well when it comes to feel since the case is fairly thick a staunch drop right around the button could possibly make it more annoying to fully hit the button from multiple angles while holding the phone..
I assume all of these things are thought about im just thinking as to whywhy.. Its a great case though im gonna keep it until the US slim guard case becomes available.

Other than BestBuy, T-Mobile and Sprint corp stores are selling it too.
The T-Mobile by my house was having 30% all accessories last weekend when I bought the G3. Saw this case in blue and knew I had to have it since I had one with good results on my old Galaxy S2 back in the day. Its been a little over a week and the blue areas that actually rest on surfaces tend to turn a little black though. It's not awful (to me anyway). Just a heads up.
Dropped my phone the other day flat on it's back from my pocket and cringed knowing the orange goodness was on the top and sides but it was still fine lol.
