Today the phone drained from fully charged to 20% in some hours. Noticed the sync icon was on despite sync setting was off. Looked in accounts, and the calendar was trying to sync\ seemed stuck.
Enabled sync then unchecked calendar and checked it again, for now it seems ok.
Any ideas what may have caused this? If this happens it can drain the phone fast
switch off data in background , may be solve your problem ...

You probably have auto sync on as well...
background data and auto sync was off...
Looked in settings and under account noticed that the calendar sync was stuck\trying to sync every few minutes.
So enable auto sync, uncheck then check calendar again, then turn off auto sync seems to have worked.
In normal use the battery doesnt last long, this bug drained the phone in 8 hours.
Hi
I've configured my IMAP email account in the stock Tablet S (official ICS) Email client with the default refresh rate of 15 minutes. Works fine initially but then, after some hours, it enters some kind of "refresh loop" where the email app's refresh icon spins every second and it presumably keeps hammering my IMAP server (as the WiFi activity indicators are constantly "lit"). Battery stats for the email app begin to skyrocket from this point on. Only workaround (not satisfactory, needless to say) I found so far is to kill the e-mail app's process. Then it works correctly for some time before it is stuck again. I have no reason to suspect there's anything wrong with the IMAP server I use. I've tried resetting the e-mail app's settings and configuring my account from scratch to no avail. Anyone else experience this?
Regards
Zbig
Hi everybody,
I am constantly in Stamina mode and put gmail and whatsapp on the whitelist.
I expected that on wifi only these apps will be allowed to sync while others will have to wait till I wake the phone up.
However, I do get Twitter and native email notifications, which indicates that Stamina doesn't actually do anything.
What's wrong here?
Having trouble when phone has been in sleep for half hour or more. Notifications coming through wifi are not working. I've being trying to solve it since yesterday but I'm not having any luck.
I've made sure the apps in question are on auto start in permissions, turned off ultra long standby mode in battery power management settings and set the apps to be exempt from cleaning in app protection settings and even turned off 'align wakeup' in power management, and of course wifi is set always on.
Phone is x820 model running fresh china 17S rom, to which i manually installed google play, gmail, bbm apps.. bbm and gmail are the apps in question are the ones not getting notifications, even though phone can receive an sms messages no problem, weirdly even receiving an sms doesnt spring the other notifications to work, also when turning the screen back on notifications still don't come for up to ten minutes even though wifi is working fine.
Any help would be really apreciated, thanks
Hi,
I'm in the same situation as you.
Also my calendar doesn't want to sync. I've flashed phonesky.apk for google apps but it doesn't contains google agenda sync adapter.. so no agenda sync
I've some app which is always run but seems to be cut by the system
Also have a lot of start up app (reboot) but nothing start huhu
17s china
Yeah it's pretty odd. Maybe the trying the Indian rom is the solution.
Generally the settings for notifications should be done in this way:
1. Check that notifications for the desired apps are ON under the menu Settings - Notification Management
2. Allow the apps to start automatically under the menu Settings - Permissions - You have allowed ... apps to auto launch
3. Disable the auto cleaning of the apps under Phone manager - Power Saving Management - App protection
I have Lock-Screen cleanup unchecked, Ultra-Long standby during sleep checked, Align wakeup checked, Clock night-alignment mode checked.
In this way I have no problems with notifications with whatsapp, viber, e-mail (I'm using yahoo mail with the stock email app), fb messenger, Facebook.
If the above are done and stil there are no notifications, then check in the app itself. The last but not least, reflash the firmware.

thanks for the info, you may be right that it is bbm and the specific gmail account playing up, the phone is for my son and on his old phone was getting @1000 notifications gmail a day lol, i cleaned it up and maybe that's made that gmail acount weird for now.
anyway can i ask what rom you are running, thanks

It's seems when my screen is off, the data is also off because i've shown 0.00kb/s when there is a connection to internet (wifi or data)
but when i turn it on, 1 sec later it show 0.00kb/s so when screen is off, no data ??

If your data will work all the time, then the battery will be drained fast. The phone connects from time to time to the Internet and then you'll get the necessary notifications. I cannot tell you how often is this, but you can decrease the time by deselecting Align Wakeup in Power Saving Management.
I am not sure that the way described above is correct, so if someone knows differently, please state.
edit.. thought i found a workaround, but I jumped the gun. Still trying to work this out.
I'm giving up, thinking about sending phone back under the reason of not fit for purpose
Maybe we need to try cuoco rom.
I've installed gapps by myself so maybe they is a bug with it
I've been testing WhatsApp all night, checking every hour if a message will get through and so far it has.... but i bet as soon as i post this it will stop working, that's the luck i seem to have lol
oddly on 19S rom WhatsApp is automatically set up to lock itself in memory, with the lock sign in recents screen, and autostart enabled in permissions
edit, put the phone in airplane mode while i slept, turned airplane mode off and now whatsapp won't get notifications even with the screen on unless i open WhatsAppl
I'm sure it shouldn't be this hard
Hey,
I often use the ultra battery saving mode but i noticed that Gmail stops syncing mails, wich is fine during battery saving. But after deactivating battery saver it does not turn on and has to be activated in Gmails settings. Anyone else has this issue? I actually missed 2 important emails this week because i didnt notice Gmail was not syncing.
Anyone knows how to fix it besides using another email client?
PS: I noticed something similar back when i had my S8+.
