Hey everyone,
Just like (I suppose) most of us I'm using the official developer ROM, currently v. 5.10.8, and have been keeping up with the updates. My question is, how do you guys keep your phone up to date without having to reinstall/configure apps like SuperSU, Adaway, AFWall+, etc.? Do you use a separate service/app to restore app data after every update? Or is there a way to prevent those specific files in the system folder to be overwritten?
Thanks for your feedback

You have to reconfigure it. The install script do a format system (not a wipe
~ Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime ~
I have the stable rom with TWRP and OpenGapps
If I want to weekly update the stable rom, I can't do it without re-installing OpenGapps?
Thanks!

Uff ok, guess I'll have to write some post-install script then to install those apps, enable init.d support (needed for applying fw rules on boot), etc. and use Titanium/Helium/.. to restore data of System apps. Thx for the info.

I will have this setup when my phone arrives - official developer ROM and Open GAPPS. Does OTA affect the open GAPPS? Will you need to reinstall?
If you want we can cooperate on such a script (or feel free to share if you do not want help)
Thanks for proposing your help, but I'm currently looking into running AOSP as it seems stable enough for everyday use and offers init.d support by default. I'll still need to script all the other stuff though so I might get into it at some point (when I find the time). Will share of course. This is my first time running MIUI and I'm actually surprised noone has come up with this before. Does everyone just like having to go through all those steps after flashing the latest release??
Hello,I just got my redmi note 4 mtk and was wondering if there was a way of editing some lines in system files to get tilt shift and fish eye for redmi note 4 mtk? Thanks in advance
Actually you don't need to do that, just installing some third-party camera apps, most of them have these additional features.

Yes, it's for mediatek varient.
It's a bit tricky to find the links 'cause it's a Russian ROM.
The official page it's: miuipro.by
This is the link of the last version they are gonna support of MIUI 8. Until our device gets MIUI 9 there would be a new version of the ROM. https://miuipro.by/obnovleniya-miuipro-7-8-24-opublikovanyi/
By the end of the page there is a picture of a orange cloud, Clic it and it will reach you to Drive. Look for the nikel version.

Big thanks to you I only had one little "bug" (i guess) . I read you had to wipe system, data, cache and dalvik, and I had cofface twrp.I tried to wipe all of those, and data cache and dalvik did wipe but i couldnt wipe system,so I installed zcx team twrp, and I wiped all of those, installed rom,but when I booted I didnt get setup screen,I got to my old homescreen.I have all the features of the miui pro rom but it didnt wipe any of my files,my apps,or my password, saved wifis and all that ****.Weird lel

Could you please send me an apk of your camera app (my rom didn't come with one so I'm surviving on a crappy one I found on xda) you can use an app like apk extractor off of Google play to get the apk.
Thanks :good:

If your phone is Indian redmi note 5 (single back camera) this is correct forum and roms (is vince)
If it is global or Chinese redmi note 5 with dual back camera (whyred) you have to go to note 5 pro forum. Whyred is named note 5 pro in India and on xda forums.

Try installing a latest twrp and wipe the partion using advanced wipe option (don't use format data ) and try installing a custom rom with less steps or complexity like pixel experience install zip n that's it(if ur new to this). And try reading forums about which magsik to flash (treble or non trebel) n don't flash magisk with rom itself. Boot in to system check n then come back n flash magisk(nothing wrong that).
---------- Post added at 06:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:26 PM ----------
If you got bored of trying and reading everything.
Do this.
1)Download pixel experience zip in ur pc.
2) wipe everything including internal storage.
3) reboot to recovery and copy zip to phone.
4) install zip .
5) reboot.
6) if u require root reboot to twrp n install latest magisk

anything new compared to MIUI10?
I can't download it, now it 11 kb/s Maybe someone can upload it on gdrive or mega.nz or some other fast hosting? Thanks.
Okay, so it totally bricked my phone... I flashed this then went back to MIUI 10. Now my phone is acting like it has 0% battery, does not respond to ANYTHING. NO power on, no recovery mode, no fastboot, no EDL, nothing. Just black screen. Don't flash this if you ask me......
Is a dirty flash possible?
MEGA mirror (compatibility zip removed).
I flashed it. It works, doesn't brick your phone. If you speak Chinese its worth a try i guess.

I flashed this zip and flashed back to Global ROM because i didn't like it, now the screen is black and nothing works, can't boot to anything. Do you have any idea what this could be?
it has arb (anti rollback) do not flash miui 10 after flashing this or you will face hard bricked device and you need authorised mi account and opening the phone for unbrick

It's close beta, you don't even supposed to have access to this ROM. As i understand close beta team members, don't have ARB restrictions in their xiaomi account.
btw, i have read that you can join this beta test by sending a sms, but i think you must be in China for this but it worth to check.

PE is encrypted by default. I don't understand why u flashed DFE if you want encryption. Use Official TWRP and clean flash PE.
Follow my guides.

No worries, I just inform you.
Pixel Experience is encrypted by default, you don't need to flash anything else if you want encryption. DFE doing the opposite.
So as I said it's better to start from scratch and clean flash PE again according my guides or check #2 of PE thread. (same steps)
it showed not encrypted in the settings may be due to dfe flashing, thats why initiated the process, ok will clean flash again then need to install apps n accounts again ;|

Yeah DFE is doing the opposite. No need to flash DFE if you want encryption. DFE is optional for people who don't want encryption.
