The music app is unable to find my music files. - Ubuntu Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since an update a while ago, the music pp has been unable to play any music. Although it does manage to load the playlists.
I use an Aquaris E5 ubuntu edition.
According to phone-info in settings, the OS is: Ubuntu 15.04 (r6).
Anyone has an idea of how I can get it working again?
I have been looking for updates almost daily waiting for a fix.

Issue seems to be fixed
The issue seems to have been fixed in the latest update.
Awesome.

Goolge Music

Hey guys,
First of all thx a lot for the app, loved it since the 3.x version, really smooth now. I have one problem however, but it's not version specific since I'm on the latest version now, but it occured at the older versions too. I like to have about 10/12gb offline music, so I let google music 'make available offline', after some days however, I see a notification, that google music is downloading again... At that point all my previous offline music is gone... I tried deleting the system app completely, including the folders etc. but nothing seemed to help...
Got a galaxy tab 10.1 rooted... Everything works great on my sII... Thx in advance!
Greetings,
Jake
No-one knows about this, how to fix it, pretty annoying to redownload 20gigs of music everyday.. en when I use the flash storage the songs will appear double in google music...

Running current Crackle TV 4.0.3 on CM11 Nightlies...

Not sure how many people use Crackle TV on their Nook's or if this fix has been discovered yet.
I thoroughly enjoy watching the older TV series as well as some of the older movies they offer and it's one of my primary apps always installed on my Android devices.
I installed CM11 2/2/14 Nightly and the Crackle TV app would not allow me to download via Google Play due to incompatibility. I tried the older version 2.3.8 which always seems to work, but could not get it to work. Would continually force close when attempting to open.
I backed up the current 4.0.3 apk from my non-rooted Motorola Razr M using ES File Explorer (again non-rooted), zipped the file and saved it off. Copied the file over to the Nook Color, unzipped it and installed it. Installation went fine, and the app ran successfully, but when I tried watching video, it would shake and stutter and was unstable to watch.
After tweaking different settings in Developer options, I tried Disable HW overlays (Always use GPU for screen compositing) and Crackle now works perfectly. :victory:
Thanks a lot for this tip. For the last couple years my Nook has been mainly used for watching TV shows and movies on Netflix, Hulu+, and now Crackle. Yesterday I finally upgraded to CM 11 from CM10 and its awesome. My Nook hasnt run this well since the Gingerbread days.
I took then crackle apk from my Nexus 7 and worked perfectly.

BBC News app

Has anyone gotten the current Market BBC News app to play videos? I'm running CM 10.2.1 and have both Flash and MX Player installed but if I select a video that accompanies a news story I get some kind of player with a "loading" circle on the screen--forever.
For a lark I thought to try an old version of the app that I use on my NST (although there is no sound on the NST....) and that version (1.3.4) brings up the MX Player and everything works fine, although I do think the still image resolution is not as good as on the current Market app.
Any solutions (other than continue to use the old version)?
Just in case someone comes across this thread later, I can confirm that version 2.5.3 WW (BBC Mobile News WW) works great on the NT running CM 10.2, videos included
Newer versions after July - No Video on CM
On my Verizon S3, the BBC News app version 3.4.0.43 GNL does not show videos on CM12.1 (nightly 10/30/15) nor has it worked since version 2.5.5 WW. After that, they dramatically changed the app with new features and display capacities. Video has never worked since.
HOWEVER, it works on another ROM, AICP, which has some CM in it, though I don't know what else it's blended with. I wish I could distinguish the issue here because the newer ones are way more interesting than the older version , one of which I have saved via TiBu and restore when I get sick of not being able to watch videos.
It' just occured to me to take a logcat when I try next time.
EDIT: well, I didn't realize I was on a nook thread, but the issue might be the same.

Yeah, I actually prefer the older version. Just don't like a lot of options to wade through and not being able to get rid of stuff I don't want to see. I just recently got an LG Optimus Zone 2 to replace my much-loved Insignia Pilot MP3 player that finally died. I let the BBC app update from the market and it worked fine (running KitKat) but I didn't like it as I said, so I replaced it with the older version, which also works just fine.

Music Controls Not Working (LG G Watch, Nexus 5, Android L Dev Preview)

I've been using the LG G Watch for a while now and I'm really loving it. However, I noticed that the music controls don't seem to work properly.
When I play a track on my Nexus 5 via Google Play, the artwork and title appear on the watch face, but pausing / playing don't work and I can't skip or go back a track, either.
As far as I can see I'm using the latest version of the Google Play Music APK and the watch is running the latest firmware. I've also tried resetting the watch and re-syncing the apps on it.
Another thing to note is that I'm running the Android L Developer Preview - not sure if that makes any difference.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Glad I'm not the only one getting this. Google Music updated today, but the issue is still there.
Same issue here on Google Music, Pocket Casts, and Player.FM - kinda annoying!
Same here, went back to 4.4.4 as many apps were having this problem (Google Music, Google Movies, Youtube)
Same issue for the Samsung Gear Live with Nexus 5 L preview.
Same issue here, works on HTC one m8, but not on nexus 5 and 7 running L. I assume its a problem with the way L handles music controls in notifications.
Happens to me with Spotify, the notification shows up but the play/pause control doesn't work. Using a Gear Live with a Nexus 4 running CM 10.2.1 (Android 4.3). However, Spotify works perfectly for a friend using a GS4 running KitKat connected to a LG G watch.
Got mine today, running Android L preview also and having the same issue. Anyone know of a fix/update on its way perhaps?
I do know that persistent/non-cancelable notifications are not mirrored to Wear for ANY app. That's usually the type of notification used to show playback controls, but it doesn't explain why the apps that have been updated don't seem to work correctly.
I also had this problem with L installed. I've since reflashed the stock 4.4.4 image, and they work fine.
Can anyone confirm whether this issue has been fixed in L yet?
It's one of the only things keeping me from using L on my everyday phone.

It will be fixed in the full release. But the dev preview won't be updated.
I thought I was the only one. So we have to wait for the Android L official release, hopefully it won't be to long
Same for me
I have the exact same issue with my Nexus 5 and Android L preview build LPV81C. Hoping it get fixed before full release. Fingers crossed ...
I have the same problem with my G Watch and Nexus 4 (running stock 4.4.4).
Anyone found a solution?
Edit:
Not a problem anymore, it was caused by an app for controlling my headset... -_-
I have the same problem with stock Nexus5 and Samsung Gear Live
I have the notification on gear of some song and when i try to "open on phone" none happens. If i try to play nothing happens again
BUT, if i open an music app (like Google music) and tap play on wear, then spotify (and this is strange) starts to play (a song different from that reported by wear notification).
This don't happens until i don't start an music app (seem that when i start a music app something will be initialized).
I also think that the notification on wear is something of old that has been stored by wear but not updated (probably after a spotify update).
Hey guys, try Wear Music Controller in the Play Store. It should control all your music players for you!
I have the same issue with you.
same here
Recently got my moto 360, doesnt work as well. Safe to say its the L preview bug.. But so disappointing

Won't play video

I installed Remix 2.0 back when they released the Beta. Installed to my HDD from USB. Apps run fine until I try to play video. Whether it's native video through a variety of media apps, or video through the YouTube app, the app either crashes or I get an error message.
I also have an update available, but when I go into setting and select reboot and install it just reboots my computer and back into Remix without an update/install taking place.
Anyone else experience this? It's been a issue since I installed it, I've just been busy and lazy and haven't gotten around to finding a solution. Maybe I'll just download the most up-to-date Remix version from Remix and start fresh.
I also have trouble with playing media on RemixOS, but the one player I found that works reliably (in my case at least) is Kodi. VLC, MX Player and a bunch of other apps I tried failed at one point or another.
