Did anyone get headphones in the box. Why did all reviews have those nice headphones. I'm not happy about this. I'm with AT&T and I spoke with lg and they said none of the carriers have them in the box.
No. T mobile

No, they didn't include ear buds, which is weird, especially when some people who tested it got earbuds
I'm pretty sure only the international version gets the earbuds.
The international ones do, blame our carriers, they leave them out to save money but still charge the same for the phone. It's BS but it's been this way for a long time.

Yeah, I honestly gave up caring when I was still buying HTC products and they stopped including them. I always assume we're not getting them.
It is to make you buy a pair from the carrier sales reps to pad the ticket price and drive profits and commissions. Plus, how many headphones or earphones do you have from other phones or ones you have purchased elsewhere?

I have like 4 sets of headphones, what would I do with another pair anyway? I'd start to feel like a hoarder lol.
Lol that's true I do have many from old phones but these were made by a company that specially made them for the phone so I was hoping to get some pretty good sound from them plus they looked great.
The ear buds I saw in the review looked really nice and I would have been interested in trying them out but as others have pointed out I have tons from other phones and I don't even bother with any of them since I really enjoy my klipsche noise-isolating ear buds.
I had this discussion with my father today. He said "call LG I bet they'd send you some"
The problem is this is the 3rd phone carrier branded ive received with no headphones. No big deal but I was interested in these LG ones... They look great.. I do wish we got them.

Akg headphones are like $600+ on ebay.. lol

I think you mean to say the korean version because that's what all the reviewers got.
Outside korea might be a different story.
They say its free but they include it in the price, then a few months later the free stuff starts to mysteriously disappear and the price magically comes down.
In all this time the phone actually costs exactly the same.

I don't think its just the Korean version. The HK variant gets the headphones as well, and someone earlier in the thread said the international unlocked version comes with headphones. The phone retails for 699. I paid 599. So it has been my experience that in all this time the phone does not actually cost exactly the same as the version that gets headphones. Your experience may be different, but as a T-Mobile customer, I paid 100 dollars less and I'd gladly pay 100 less and not get the earbuds. We are also getting a 250 dollar sdcard, and an extra battery and charger. I'm not going to whine over not getting another set of earbuds to add to my collection.

They aren't free. They are subsidized by the 2 year contract Verizon makes you sign. You are paying for the phone in installments. Phew...glad I got that off my chest. Carry on.

Okay, I don't want to come off strong, and this isn't only aimed at you, but I'm tired of seeing posts like this. I understand pointing out the distinction that the phones aren't actually free, but the practicality of the matter is that if you're going to be paying for your phone service whether you upgrade or not, then the phone IS free because it's not costing you any more by upgrading than it is to keep using your old phone. Sure, you're agreeing that you'll be keeping the service for another two years (or pay an early termination fee), but how often do most people switch mobile carriers?
Jeesh.
What you said is absolutely true. If you are going to stay with Verizon anyway, you might as well leverage their NE2 and upgrade deals to get cool phones. I just would like for people to understand that the phones come at a cost. If some great deal comes along where you'd save a bunch of money if you switched, you can't. If you can't afford a smartphone anymore...too bad. You still have to pay for it.
I'll probably mention it again at some point. My apologies in advance.

That's okay! LOL. Thanks for taking my comment in stride.
Actually, there's nothing preventing you from still using some old flip phone and not having the data charges any more, if you decide to change. The contract is only that you keep your phone service. There's no requirement that you keep your level of data plan, or that you even keep using your smart phone at all. You could sell it (they might not like it but they don't actually do anything about it) and use the funds to buy an old flip phone plus have some money left over, unless you keep your old phones (I wouldn't, I'd sell or recycle them for money), then it would be all profit.
Interesting... I was going to buy a Samsung Fascinate from a guy who bought it through Verizon for his kid, and then decided that they didn't really need data. He had already switch out phones. When I ran the ESN it came up bad. So I had him call Verizon and they said he couldn't drop the data plan, so he didn't sell me the plan.
And honestly, that makes sense. Otherwise everyone would grab a $400 phone for some cheap price, then immediately switch to some cheaper phone and sell the expensive one. So I don't think its as simple as you make it sound to drop the data plan.
Hmmm looks like i can only "annual" upgrade at Verizon, if i want the cheap prices i would have to wait till june.
might just get a DInc for 99.99, then do the Verizon trade in on the Eris for 132....or strip it down and use it as a VOIP phone or something for the house.
Do you have the link to the Verizon trade in handy?

FYI, depending on the phone, sometimes http://wsf4.letstalk.com/flipswap/modelselectionpopup.htm gives much more. I checked one phone a couple months ago and it was more than double on one than the other. And it was vice-versa with a different phone I had. Note that I haven't actually used either service yet, so I can't rate them.
I sold them on eBay for much more $$$!

I doubt there is a warehouse somewhere where AT&T is paying people to yank phones out of samsung boxes and shove them into AT&T boxes. They ship like this.
Hah...I guess I'm not surprised that at&t decided to take out those headphones. And on top of that, they're shipping it in their annoying looking boxes. That's the 1 thing I hate the most about these US carriers....to go along with their carrier branding on phones to "differentiate" themselves....like come on.....
Video posted by OP....that must be either the Telus or Bell version for Canada? I hear Rogers is the only one out of them 3 that brands their phones.
But...will those Canadian Note versions work with at&t LTE though??

Wow, even worse then the infuse! At least the infuse had the hdmi feature, still love that idk if this can do that. Anyway, i was looking forward to replacing my infuse earphones that have been washed twice (and are still fine just have some stuff on them)! Hopefully they can seriously push the ics update quickly, idc if its semi working, our devs will be able to finish it in tenth the time of att and sammy. Att is really cheating out the customers here in almost all ways.
I'm sorry if I sound cynical, but who the hell uses those cheap headphones anyways? Plus, they're the same ones you all received with your last Samsung phone, so why do you need two pairs? Yeah, the nice box would be cool to have, but that's not what you carry around with you.
ATT is probably saving money, being greener with a cheaper box, and probably preventing a lot of headphones from sitting inside a box in an ATT bag tucked in a closet somewhere, just like the ones from my infuse are.
If you really care that much about them, that's kind of sad, because they have to be some of the worst sounding earbuds that I have ever used. And I thought skullcandy made crappy headphones.
I agree, the little extras with something this expensive and nice are awesome, but they're nothing to lose sleep about. Imho, the note is worth much more than the extra 100 bucks it will cost me compared to my infuse, so I'm guessing ATT did it to cut back on their losses that they're taking on the phone subsidization.

I think people stop calling it a phablet at 7" and just call it a tablet--but I'm sure there will be 5.5" or 6" phablet/tablets at some point too. Also, the Tab 7.7 does have phone software installed, in case you want to hold that thing up to your ear.
i'm sure at&t prob saved $5-$10 per box by not getting the headphones with the note... if you multiply that by lets say 250000 people thats quite a savings as stupid as it is lol.

if it is the same model then it should. depends on the frequency lte bands that it uses. there are different bands in the 700mhz frequency range.
I know the note for at&t supports both of at&t's LTE bands. 700mhz, band 17 I believe, and 1700mhz AWS band which they are going to be using shortly as well in some areas.
If the box is open, the box won't do much of anything for resale costs. And I'm sorry to whoever was looking forward to the headphones, that's an understandable situation. For the most part however, people are nitpicking, when the device is what matters the most, and the other stuff likely wont be a deal breaker at all.

these are some pretty good knock-offs though... check out their youtube channel...
thats where i found the link, in the New iPhone 5 knock off video... looks exactly like the iphone 5 and even has an apple logo come up on boot.. quad core too. Looks identical to iOS but really just an android set up themed. they definitely put some work into them for a Chinese company
Wow, one can buy a dual-simm non-android dumb phone - quad band GSM for $30 plus $10 shipping.
I also looked at Aliexpress who has them for under $30 with free shipping from China.
If it works, then this iphone look-a-like can be a very low cost emergency phone on a pay per minute T-Mobile USA plan. Being quad-band it should work in every country of the world. Of course, no data, just voice and sms/mms.
I looked at this and thought for a for a cheap phone for someone (who doesn't own a Global Mode phone) who traveled internationally... buy a prepaid local SIM card and away you go.
Or, some of these phone might make decent media players or micro-tablets... just disable the mobile radios and away you go.
But, yeah, not gonna work on Verizon... I wouldn't be surprised if they do sell a few to the US though, people who are not so tech savvy would just believe it, drop their CC number down, and then they get a phone that doesn't work for what they wanted, what are they going to do? Think that company is going to refund their money for a device that is not actually defective?
Although they have no warranty policy listed on their site, the "Buyer Protection" stuff they have listed in FAQ section does say it does not cover buyers remorse BUT it does cover the device for 45 DAYS from the date of payment, provided you buy it through their website! lol
Haha. That's awesome... gotta appreciate their entrepreneurial spirit! I'm sure they are full of junk components, but I guess if they work for a year or so, they can give you a good "look."
If this is to be believed, VZW is going to carry the One along with the rest of the U.S. carriers. That's fantastic news for HTC as they've accomplished (selling the same device on all four U.S. carriers) what Samsung did with the SGS3 which was one of the cornerstones of its success. And HTC really needs some success. It also explains the appearance and disappearance of a red version of the One off of HTC's website.
"It looks like HTC’s One really will be the one flagship for the Taiwanese phone maker. When HTC announced the phone last month, it said the One would be sold at AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. A mention of Verizon was noticeably absent. However, Verizon will also carry the high-end Android device according to a source familiar with the situation. Its launch at Verizon, though, will trail the other U.S. carriers by a month or two as it winds its way through the testing process. HTC and Verizon representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment."http://allthingsd.com/20130313/exclusive-htc-one-headed-to-verizon-too/
So do you think it'll be offered alongside the DNA or are the two devices too similar?
Even though I went from a DNA to a Note 2 and now back to a DNA, I will be buying the One the very minute it is available for Verizon. How's that for impact?
or just do this http://blog.htc.com/2013/03/htc-one-developer-edition/
If it does come to verizon and if I can sell my DNA on ebay for $600 then yes I may get it. If not then no
I have a feeling the resale value of the DNA might plummet when the One hits. Not saying the DNA isn't an amazing phone, but if you have to pick one of the two at similar prices... The only thing I can think of that would really retain the DNA's resale value would be if yours is already unlocked / rooted / s-off. Considering the post-OTA (and all new) phones cannot achieve this yet, I think it'll be a surge to the price for phone that already are unlocked.

With my ebay skills 80% will sell $600.
20% it wont if my skills fail.
Also who knows what the outright price for the one will be if it does come to VZW.
It has very little impact to me as I love my DNA.
Sure people complain of battery life but I get a full day out of mine usually, they complain about only having 16 GB of internal memory but I use Spotify for my music and Drive for my pictures and most places I frequent have wifi. My 8MP camera takes lovely pictures and I already have a quad core processor with 2 GB of RAM. Speaker mode on the DNA is fabulous.
Also, I love having a pocketable 5 inch 1080p device.
Fyi I got a DNA that was used for a week off Craigslist for 425 with two cases and wireless charger...so remember that eBay will take fees from the seller...I just sold an iPhone 5 on eBay for 560 and eBay took 50 bucks just for the damn sale..and then PayPal takes 2% or something too...so yeah.

if you could sell it for $600 now, that would be pretty amazing....let alone a few months from now with another big HTC device about to launch (or having launched already)
you would need to probably package a ton of accessories with it to come near that

With my ebay skills 80% will sell $600.
20% it wont if my skills fail.
Also who knows what the outright price for the one will be if it does come to VZW.

depends on if they carry multiple storage versions...iirc there are 16/32/64 variants (though i actually havent seen a 64gb variant for sale) for the htc one
so it *might* be something like 599/699/749 or some variation in there off contract
on contract would probabaly be 199/299 of 16/32 which is what id assume verizon would carry (just a guess)
and dna would probably drop to 149 or 99 on contract directly from verizon....probably 49 or free on 3rd party websites

That phone will work in the U.S.data wise on Verizon in an LTE area (at this point NJ is almost fully blanketed where I live)....who uses their phone to talk anyway? LOL
And once Verizon implements VOLTE, you could in theory use that phone on Verizon here. So if this was 2014 that phone would be perfect!

Same here. I had to list it 3 times too before the buyer actually came up with the money.
On thing to remember if your going to sell ANY phone your not going to make a profit. It just makes getting a new phone a little better.
I will be getting the One I have two upgrades available in October so I should be able to get it in September. I hope thats when its released. The developer edition I think is BS pretty sure guys here on XDA will be able to crack the One without me paying extra.
I found a link that compares DNA to One camera check it out http://pocketnow.com/2013/03/13/htc-one-camera-vs-droid-dna-camera#!prettyPhoto
I'm actually happy with my DNA (understatement) and since Sense 5 will be sent to the DNA the only two things that will make me get the new Verizon HTC One (Probably being named the DNA+) would be better battery life and availability in white other than that I doubt that I will be swayed

Hey folks
Just unboxed my G6 and waiting with sweaty palms for the first charge to finish... .
Like most EU users I was annoyed at No ESS Dac or Wireless charging.. but I wonder.. how much of this is directly LGs fault.. and I wonder how much of it is EU / red tape interference..
It just doesnt seem logical that a company would manufacture 2 versions of their flagship and turn out a half baked phone..
We never got the V10 or the V20 .. so I wonder, how much of, selling a half finished device for the same £680 (in Asia it works out £650), is interference by the Financial Euro-prats in Brussels.. after all, Samsung havent removed their Wolfsonn DAC or Wireless charging from the S8, could it be the patents ?.. IMO, No..
Are we as consumers being too hard on LG as a company when the blame may lie with the faceless Beaurocrats?
What do you guys think
We should be hard on LG. It's their branded phones.
For clarity the reason for the disparity across the world is due to the networks depicting what they believe their customers will buy and at what price. For example if LG said it could provide a quad dac for an extra £5 per phone the network buyers may not believe that's necessary to include, thereby maximising profits. The networks are LG customers , not you.
I'm not letting LG off the hook. Pressure needs to be applied from every angle to make the networks and LG realise it is not acceptable to hav such disparity where the feature difference is noticeable.
No, no good trying to blame the EU for this (honestly, this isn't the Daily Mail! ). There's no regulatory impediment to a better DAC or wireless charging, and anyway how would Brussels stop the Americans getting the DAC, or indeed stop the Asians getting wireless charging? And you forgot that Asian models get 64GB storage whereas the rest of the world gets 32GB.
No, LG made the decisions on a financial basis. Whether they took feedback from carriers or did their own market research (which is what they told me when I contacted them about this), in the end it was just a business decision on their part.
I contacted them the day that the phone was announced and told them that their regional specifications policy had cost them my custom. I figured that one person buying it or not is invisible to them, but if enough people told them it was stupid and that they would have sold more without it they might learn for next time.
After starting this thread, then reading your replies.. I did a little digging to check my facts and I was saddend to learn that, yes.. this is LG doing so-called market research on what the "networks" want and sadly, all 3 regions have been scr*wed over.. but to give the EU the version that has NONE of the added features (No 64GB/Wireless, or DAC) or the "V 10 / 20 and probably not the 30" is a really stupid move.. I dont know who does LGs research, but they should be fired.. Yet they give us waterproofing which scr*ws call quality and Audiio..
And they wonder why Samsung do so well..
Whatever the reason or whoever is to blame, LG need to realise they are the back marker/the underdog. They need to come out with a headliner that appeals to mainstream AND more hardcore users.
Confusing matters like this will just keep the momentum with Samsung.
No, it's because LG do "market research" and decide what each region wants and a cost/benefit analysis. That's all. Same as their decision not to release the V20 in EU, simply they thought it wouldn't sell.
Ofc it is "LG's fault".
I'm in the UK and I would like 64GB, wireless charging and a quad DAC. But LG decided not to make them available.
So yeah it's "LG's fault".
Market research my arse.

Then in my opinion they got their analysis compelety wrong.
Ok the S8 is more expensive on contract but imagine the smile on the salesman when he justifies that expense on wireless charging and larger storage. It'll be easy for him.
G6 will just get swept aside which is a shame as I think my G5 is great anf was looking forward to this one.
Maybe they will reanalyse for the G7 ?

I have 4 flagship phones, the S8+. Huawei P10 Plus, LG G6 and iPhone 7 Plus. I will be ditching the S8+. Whilst it has lots of positives, its just not as nice to use as the G6, nor is it camera as useful or as good at in many areas as the G6.

Yea, I remember you saying you felt the G6 was v good (I'm the guy across the brisge from you that had that Twitter conversation ? )
Just no way I'll get the UK version. Its still expensive and I would hate knowing I had a 'dumbed down' version.
I'd rather not import just yet either. But never say never ?

I think it's £490 on Three UK with a £10 top up. A bit more realistic.
And hi again

Yea saw that deal on HotUKDeals. Think it turned out to be an error in some stores putting the G6 on show at G5 prices.
Pretty sure its back to £600+ now.
£600+ for the G6 is just a crazy, crazy price. Also, for the amount of time it took to release it they could have had an SD835 in it! Perhaps they'll release a V2 with an 835 but some of LGs decisions with phones are insane. They're shooting themselves completely in the foot.
£564 on Tesco Mobile.
Hoping to have it tomorrow Saturday, Monday at the latest.
As the major UK carriers are only selling the black version so they don't have enough confidence to sell the other colours. Only CPW stock all three. I'm not convinced this decision is one by market research as suggested. My own view is that LG rushed the release in the UK knowing that the S8 was comming out only 2 weeks later. Poor marketing really.
I cannot understand why any flagship wouldn't have wireless charging these days as it's becoming more common. Coming from the last few Samsung phones I owned this was a massive loss. The only conclusion is LG don't see this phone lasting.
On the DAC point I chuckled at others view on the sound quality on the S7 as I also found it poor. I think the sound quality is much better on my G6.
If anyone has an EE firmware version could they post the firmware download link?

CPW has an early exclusive on the colours. They seem to do this quite a bit as well as getting the phones earlier than other online retailers. Frustrating. Personally I have the white which I like a lot.

Where did you find that price? It's £629 for me. Also are Tesco Mobile's phones unlocked?

£564 is what I'll be paying for the phone over 24 months.
Ive been with Tesco Mobile for several years so I just logged in to my account and that was the price that was quoted. And yes it's unlocked, all my phones from Tesco have been network free with no crappy bloatware.
I picked it up in store this afternoon and an hour later I had swapped it for a 1 week old V20, LG folio case (both as new) and £150 cash
My experience with the G6 was very brief but I decided after 5 minutes it wasn't for me. It's a gorgeous phone but the biggest fingerprint magnet I've ever had.
I'm already impressed with the V20 (H990ds Korean model) so I'll be posting my thoughts in the V20 forum.
LG did **** up the UK release of the G6, but not by rushing it, instead by delaying it.
LG had a window of opportunity of just under a month from when they announced the G6 to get it on the shelves, or at least on pre-order, before Samsung announced the S8. They must have known that Samsung would open up pre-order orders immediately, and probably that Samsung would ensure that every phone shop nationwide had S8s on display the day after announcing it; yet LG didn't even announce the UK availability date until a week before Samsung put actual retail S8s in actual customer's hands.
If they'd capitalised on that month lead they had, the G6 would be selling way better, despite the exclusion of its best features.
