Keeping Apps In Memory? - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Just wondered if anyone knows of any tips or tricks for a minor problem I'm having.
I use some apps that require to be running all the time and need accessabilty permissions,
Such as heads off, lightflow, vybe, and in particular simple control
I find they all work great when working, but they do occasionally stop. I then have to go into accessibility, turn it off and re enable to get them going again.
I know some apps have a keep in memory option but they always sick an annoying notification in your pull down screen
Anyone know of a way to stop certain apps from closing or is that just an annoyance I'm going to have to put up with?
Thanks

multiple processes always running.

I've noticed here lately that a lot of process have been running on my phone. I use atk to kill them but they keep coming back up and bogging down my phone. Any ideas as to how to with stop these processes from running would be great thanks.
Best way is the most obvious one: uninstall everything you don't really need... sometimes people tend to keep apps thinking "I might need it someday", but then why not install it when you need it, later?
Software solution: Startup Auditor. It let's you disable what's started at boot time AND - and this is really cool - it offers you the choice to suppress apps that tend to pop up later (due to system event triggers such as turning on/off wi-fi) from ever starting.

[Q] Can anyone please tell me where these notifications are coming from?

Hey guys, over the past week and a bit I've been getting these advertising notifications in my notification area.
So far they have been trying to get me to download some games, and im assuming that the notifications are being cause by a game/app i have installed.
It can be pretty tricky to keep track of all the updates i do, and i dont always read the change logs for stuff like this.
So i was hoping that someone would recognise these notifications, and hopefully tell me what game/app they are caused by - so i can uninstall it.
Screen shots attached.
Thanks a lot for any help.
down load air push app from market.
it will tell you what app is causing the notification, then delete it
You can install "Addons Detector" or "AirPush Detector" from the market, they will tell you which application have those notification.
[EDIT: I was writing when thorur published the answer. No intention to steal a good answer ]
These notifications are usually caused by dodgy wallpaper apps or games.
You can download Addons Detector (Market Link) or AirPush Detector (Market Link) to find the source app.
great! thanks a lot for the tips guys, ill check out those apps and try to monitor what is causing the notifications.
Ill let you know how i go.
thanks again.
This happened to me once. It was from an app I downloaded from the Market. I found out it was pushing ads to my notification bar by reading the reviews later on. I removed the app but the notifications kept coming.
I was lucky that I was just about to flash another ROM at the time so doing a full wipe helped solve the problem I guess.
ddoublee,
that's not very encouraging. I uninstalled the app i though was responsible - Sketch Me Pro - But i am stilling getting the advertisements.
So now i need to try to figure out if it is another app causing them - or something else.
probably more trouble than its worth.
cheers.
-------EDIT-----
I have just noticed that all the ads are for games from the same developer - and i have one of these games installed.
RAIDEN-Sky Force Ace is the game i have installed. Hopefully removing it will remove the ads.
Note - the addons (as detected by Addons Detector) for this game are Fortumo and PayPal - listed as developer tools.
So i removed the game, and a lingering notification disapeared immediately.
thanks for your help guys.
Can anyone identify permissions the app would required for sending notifications to the notification bar like this? something to look out for in the future.
cheers.
i would use a custom rom that supports pdroid to get rid of this notifications without deleting games. Also use Droidwall to prevent some games or apps to get access to internet!
Is your phone rooted?
Do you have ClockWorkMod?
A quick solution would be to back up all your contacts and apps and clear the cache/factory reset through ClockWorkMod restore everything and see if you still get the ads pushed.

[Q] Disable System Apps?

So noticed in ICS that if you can't uninstall an app you can disable it. I was thinking about disabling some, swype, sprint zone, g+ just to name a few. Does anyone know if this could affect the battery either good or bad? I just don't know much about the disable feature. Since the phone is so new I couldn't find any other threads about it for this phone. I figure I'm not gonna mess with disabling stuff until it has been tested. What I would like to figure out is which apps are safe to disable that will help with battery life.
I just uninstalled some of these and others I didn't want and would never use, if you have root use an app like Rom Toolbox or Titanium Backup. Don't think I've ever pressed disable so can't answer there.

[Q] How to Disable Settings menu?

My children (twin boys) have phones (samsung i5500) and I'd like to be able to remove access to the settings option, mainly to prevent them messing around with passwords which they often forget. Tried searching google etc, but not seeing a solution (or anyone else asking)
Any idea how to do this? Both phones currently stock.
Thanks
You could try one of these:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5kb21vYmlsZS5hcHBsb2NrIl0.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sp.protector.free&feature=search_result
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thinkyeah.smartlockfree&feature=search_result
Although note that Android is fairly "open" and there are probably ways around these. (I haven't tried any of them personally, nor have I tried to get around them. If your sons learn how to root the phones, they could probably easily remove any protection app you install. It may even be possible to just kill them from a task manager - you may want to block access to the Play Store also so that you must approve any apps they want to install)
EDIT: Just tried the first, seems to do the job well. I'd advise enabling the lock on "Settings" in the General tab and everything other than "incoming calls" on the Advanced tab. Haven't found anyway to get round it, so it seems to do the job.
EDIT: Having left it on my phone for a sort time, I noticed an increased battery drain (even just in half an hour). Not sure if others will be the same, or if this app always behaves like this, but if you notice battery draining quicker after installing one of these apps, you may want to try a different one.
Thanks, I've just found the same direction, it hadn't occurred to me earlier that settings was an app.
If you hit disable on settings app how do enable it back?

Notification Warnings

So I've had some annoyances with my new S9+ that I've never seen before. I'm not sure if it's a Samsung issue or an Oreo one.
So I'm getting some warnings in my notifications area. Now I get the idea behind it, but there's no way to approve apps. For instance, I get a warning that Waze was using the microphone. I approved that permission, yet every time I use Waze, I get the warning. I get a warning that Google Music is using a lot of CPU. Lastly, I'm getting a warning that Handcent SMS is accessing, you guessed it, SMS.
Again, I understand the idea behind it. However, two of these are working "as intended". I'm wondering if there's a way to whitelist apps so this notification doesn't appear every time.
If anyone needs to know how to fix this, I found it on Google.
Settings > Lockscreen and Security > App Permission Monitor.
Then you can turn that all the way off, or off for specific apps.
