I did this over a 2 day period on and off at my office and Im not there now so I hope I didnt forget an important detail.
Ok here is my recollection. D/L the flash tool found here, https://userscloud.com/kb6tr3bcuecr and install it.
In the folders that are created by installing Flash tool there will be a driver folder. Click or select the first two, all the common drivers, and the one for Sony z3 and install them. I did this on a Win7 machine and is asked me numerous times if I wanted to allow drivers to be installed during that process, say yes and finally it will allow you to click finish.
click on the xperifirm icon and download the ftf Look under the Z3/Z3v Leo for the US flag D6708 z3v. Look for 23.1.D.0.509 /R4C. You will see this Pop up

Im not exactly sure where it lands but the Flash tool knows where to find it.
When the download finishes. Close the download window and close the Xperifirm FTF locater
Make sure your phone has USB debugging and allow mock locations selected.
Plug in your phone and watch it for a message to allow the connection and allow it.
Soon after that a dropdown list will appear with device #s and names. There is NO Z3v so select #D66XX series. The box will close on its own.
Click the flash lighting bolt top left icon.
It will ask what mode, I had to use Flashmode for it to work, I think thats the default choice anyway.
It will ask if you want to name the device Z3, I said yes.
this window will pop up, I selected wipe cache only, just for the hell of it I clicked on the D6708 line then clicked Flash on the lower right
Now it took a little time for it to process the download then a screen pops up and says Unplug the phone, Power it down, Press the back button and plug it back in. That is not correct for our phones since the back button does not show when the device is shut down. Follow it but substitute the back button for holding the volume down button then plug in the USB.
That process will put the phone into flash mode and the screen will start indicating your process. It will say dont unplug the usb but if flash tool is not running codes in the window its ok to do it.
The first time I did it I got a driver error in the flash tool but noticed on my screen windows was installing a driver for the phone so I unplugged it and held the volume down, plugged it in again and Pop, data started flying on the flash tool screen. It took about 8 minutes to flash and once I unplugged it sat at the Verizon boot screen for a while then it said Android is optimizing xx of 388 apps and I was in the clear.
If you feel you have to disable driver signing the easiest way is the restart your Win 7 computer and right after the Dell or what ever you have logo comes on the screen rapidly tap the F8 key to get to the blue boot mode and arrow down to disable signing, it will only do it for that 1 time and the machine will restart. Im not sure if thats what was holding me up because I did that and added all those drivers I listed above at the same time. You many not have to disable signing.
Let me know if this makes it any easier for you. I hope to Finally give back to this community thats given me so much over the years.

You will lose root if you flash a stock rom. To keep it, you have to make yourself a prerooted Lollipop rom. Or, you could flash the one I made myself in the Android Development boards for the Z3v.

Im not sure you have to install the drivers with Win 10, try to run the process without them and see. The worst that can happen is the flash fails telling you missing drivers

Bobby is using Windows 7 and I don't have a machine with it or 8.1 any longer. Windows 10 x64 did not require any driver signing through any of my update processes or with 0.9.18.6 so I can't help.
Gave thanks to Bobby! Finally flashed to 5.0.2.
There is something important to note for Windows 8, you have to disable driver signature for the phone drivers to install. Only difference.
Phone is running like a champ working hard to update everything that was abandoned in 4.4.4

UPDATED. This will put you to STOCK 2.2! Using ODIN thanks to eugene373.
If you want stock and are able to get in to recovery and want a flashable rom. click here
This started as a thread asking for help, with the little help I got... and a little searching NOW this thread is to help other people who are having the same problem
ALSO its to show that a little searching on this forum, you will pry find the answers you are looking for.
EVERYTHING in here I found in the Bible, that is located in the development section.
This guide is for non hardware locked vibrants... if you are hardware locked check out this threadhere
First off you will need to get odin and the correct files.
I have packaged eugenes 2.2 pit and tar(md5) files in a zip along with odin. these are all the files you will need and you can download them here
(remember this is for unofficial 2.2 if you want Official 2.1 files click here )
s15274n (thread here) has everything you will need in his [Tips & Tricks] thread AND MORE!
so make sure to check that out and read the "EASY WAY TO GET THE JI6 UPDATE" before you go any further with my thread.
Georgegreco86(thread here) made this awesome image (below) and it works perfectly....
HOWEVER some times there are some complications that happen that i cover below.
TO GET IN TO DOWNLOAD MODE
I have found the EASIEST WAY to do this is:
1.pull the battery out of the phone.
2.plug usb into computer
3.put the battery back in the phone
4.hold in the volume up and down
5.plug usb in to phone
it should bring you to the download mode in seconds.
now you should unplug the usb From the phone..
make sure the battery stays in, and open odin.
now follow the instructions below.
1. Open Odin3_v1.0
2. Load .512 into the PIT placeholder
(In this case s1_odin_20100512)
3. Load *FILE.tar* into PDA placeholder
(In this case Eugene_2E_JK2_Froyo.tar.md5)
4. Make sure COM port has a number in it
This means your phone is connected, if your phone is not connected make sure you have the correct drivers)
5. Press Start!
6. If you it all works your done... if not keep reading!

IF YOU RUN IN TO PROBLEMS!
If your phone is not connecting to odin.It might be because you need the correct drivers, thanks to TGA_Gunnman they are located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929.
I was able to just let the computer search for them and with a few clicks, had the drivers installed.
To install the Android USB driver on Windows Vista for the first time:
1. Connect your Android-powered device to your computer's USB port. Windows will detect the device and launch the Found New Hardware wizard.
2. Select "Locate and install driver software."
3. Click "Next." Vista may prompt you to confirm the privilege elevation required for driver installation. Confirm it.
Freezing on "cache.rfs"
searching on google i found a website called fractionalphones.com, the post was about this and it said what i had to do was reboot my computer and hit F8 (just keep touching it) and when it gets to the "safemode screen" arrow down to "Disable Digital Signature Verification"
Also a problem Some people had was the usb port used...
So if it does not work try a new port!

It wont let me remove the lag fix, v2 says i dont have the lag fix installed
and v1 says "you only have 346MB free on RFS, but 364MB used on EXT2. You must free up some space"
and then it tells me i dont have enough to install either v1 or v2 of the lag fix
BUT my quadrant is 2000+ so i know its installed.
i saw the other tread about this but it didnt really tell me much.

LOL, One of the reasons I suggested Odin. It'll "just work" even if you have the lagfix (at least it did for me). Make sure you backup everything on the SD card that you want & tell it to repartition. If all goes well, everything down to the internal SD card has been put back to stock.
I know when I did the lagfix, I had a PC app that just ran ADB commands in a batch file (basically). After a week or so it got unbearably slow and even the remove lag fix that came with it wouldn't work, so I used Odin to go back to stock.
--------
But, I think what it's complaining about is you need to free up ~20MB of space in order to remove the lag fix. Since it needs to move the files that it put on the ext2 partition back to the RFS partition, it needs at least that much space before it can move the files & then delete the ext2 partition.
bumping because I figured out what I was doing and I think this can help a lot of other people.

Odin isn't recognizing your phone. You should double check that the drivers are properly installed. Then, make sure Odin is on and click Reset if need be. Put phone into Download Mode and then plug it into computer.. A yellow box should appear at top of Odin, which let's you know you're successfully connected.
Hope that helps!

try switching usb ports.. i remember that happening to me.. i dont remember what i did tho haha.
im sure a google search will help with that one thats what i did
- Was using Free X10 Beta 4, Changed Brightness Settings, Phone crashes
- It will not turn on, but it does vibrate when holding the power on button
- The Phone is recognised by USB and comes up with the Green Light although
does not update in SEUS - "Product Cannot Be Identified" (I've deleted/replaced blob_fs, still same problem)
- Attempted to update firmware with PC Companion, Does not work, "Download Error"
- I've also attempted to installed a generic firmware through Flashtool, whilst it takes a very long time to flash it finishes although phone remains not working after.
What is wrong? I've simply changed brightness settings and it's crashed. Please help me get my phone working, I need it urgently.
This has happened once before although I've been able to reflash the firmware via SEUS although this time it isn't identifying my phone.
How was your battery level?
Ive never heard about this situation in particular but i believe if you search there are threads on unbricking an x10. Take a look around the forums and search unbrick x10 and see what you get.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Battery level was near 100%.
The Search seems to be down, could anyone link me to an unbricking tutorial on here?
Thanks.
Bump..
Unbricking method doesn't work (just flashing via Flashtool with generic firmware). On top of that it takes ages to flash via this method for some reason.
Anyone have any idea what the problem is?? The phone should be working fine, all I did was change the brightness setting and then it crashed.

Is your usb cable okay? maybe the problem is your usb cable. As of right now its IMPOSSIBLE to brick the X10 due to the bootloader not being cracked. The only problem can be your programs, cable, or maybe you dropped your X10 one to many times.
If you do get it sorted, you cant set brightness to auto, will cause a crash. This was highlighted in z's original freex10 thread.

I have 6802 13W30. I'm going to step by step how i got FU 14.1.B.1.510 at 3Am last night in texas.
First I did this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2422521
But like so many people after I did it, I started experiencing the dreaded SOD even after unchecking OPTIMIZED BACKLIGHT in display.
So after the SOD. i shut the phone off by pressing and holding volume up + power. once phone was off, i opened the sim cover area and depressed the little soft reset button 3 times.
I then decided it was time to go back to .475 so i opened pc companion and followed these steps. (Keep in mind i had done a .475 repair 2 days before with pc companion because i was having touchscreen issues, wanted to see if a full firmware wipe and install would fix problem. So i knew .475 was already on my computer and this should take 5 minutes, but it didnt. Instead i noticed pc companion was taking for ever because it was redownloading something off the web)
Turn the phone off and disconnect it from the computer
1. Disregard any instructions to connect the phone until you complete step 9
2. In the welcome screen you will see the different modules available for you including the "support zone" option. Click on "Start" below it.
3. On the next page Click on "Start" under "Phone/Tablet Software update"
At this point if you get an error stating that "unable to install update components" or "server is bussy" Please proceed to step 12. If you not see that error then continue with step 4.
4. The program will show a window saying "Could not find phone/tablet". Click on the option below that reads: "Repair my phone/tablet" the program will issue you a warning on the content that you will lose during the update
5. Choose the option to continue.
6. The program will issue a final message warning you of possible data lost during the update. Click on the checkmark and then on "Next/Continue".
7. After that, the program will download the necessary information (5 to 6 minutes) and it will present you with a list of phones.
8. Choose the Phone from the list then click on "next" then you will see a new section telling you how to connect the phone. (don't connect it yet)
At this point the phone must be off and disconnected from the PC.
9. Connect the cable to the PC not to the phone, then wile pressing and holding the indicated button (in the steps on screen an specific button will be shown for you to press on the phone) connect the cable to the phone and keep holding the indicated button until the program says "the update of your phone has started..." (in some cases a message of "Installing drivers" will appear before the message of "the update of your phone has started..." is shown.)
10. If you failed to follow the steps correctly the phone will turn on and it will request that you "Proceed with the following steps, slide down the notification bar", If this happens disconnect the phone from the cable, turn it off and repeat from step 9).
11. If the phone is connected properly, PC Companion will proceed with the update ( It will tell you to let go of the back key) then wait for the update to finish and follow instructions on screen to disconnect the unit.
When every thing was finished. PC companion told me your phone has been updated to 14.1.B.1.510 and since 12 hours now, NO SOD AND RUNNING VERY SMOOTH.!
I got the 510 through Sony Bridge by just making the small build.prop hack and my procedure from start to end was this:
1. Edit the build.prop according to this:
Guide for changing build.prop in order to receive 510
I used ROM ToolBox Pro for this.
2. After that, I made a factory reset since I prefer to have everything clean when I update.
3. Connect the device to the computer and Update Service or Bridge will find the 510 and download it.
4. After flash, I followed the root instructions here:
Root Guide for 510
5. After that guide has been followed, I had 510 up and running properly. My only change was that I used my older 510 FTF in order to flash the kernel back since Mega fails with the 510 kernel listed in the guide.
So now I am up and running on the 510 and it works well. The only thing that failed is FolderMount, it causes a reboot when it tries to mount the folders. Sony has changed the path to the microSD card and that causes that problem.
Everything seems to work fine til now, 240 DPI went well, the new launcher is more tolerant towards that and no SODs for now. The SODs are caused by the defect FTF.

How did you Update via Bridge with unlocked bootloader?
I relocked the bootloader and updated after that. So I have a locked BL at the moment but will unlock it again when it is time, I guess I will wait for recovery and custom ROMs and stick to the Bridge for the rest of the period of using stock ROMs.
That is what I'm also going to do.
Do you know if X-Reality is working with relocked bootloader again?

I guess it is like Bravia Engine: doesn't work in Album, works with Movies (that is after the bootloader has been unlocked even if it is relocked).

I did the update via Bridge to 510 from 475 by changing my build.prop also, I still got SOD's if I unticked the Optimized Backlight. Your works fine with the unticked Optimized Backlight even after a reboot?
Thanks

Howdy,
Many thanks for your message. I followed your directions and the update worked fine, but the restored image was 475 rather than 510. I suspect that this may have something to do with the fact that you had previously had 510 on the phone or that you changed the proxy from the default setting. Can you offer any hints?
Thanks!

When FlashTool shows Ready, disconnect the phone for ~5 secs. Upon reconnecting the phone, FlashTool will automatically run. This will take a few moments, so go get a cup of coffee. When the phone shows a blue screen with a bid red 3, you're good to go. Disconnect the phone and pull the battery briefly. Restart the phone and redo the setup. Shutdown Flashtool to prevent any accidents when rerooting.

LG G3 flies faster than a G6
OG RAZR XT912 got 4.4 before S4
I am an experienced Android hacker, and still got a bit lost with the tutorial. While I appreciate the excellent work here, you might consider editing/adding the information to help clarify the following:
1. The TOT file at http://www.mediafire.com/download/6i..._Stock_TOT.zip, https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B7379qhBA5bnVWQwLU9GNkk3ZGs&usp=sharing, and http://fs1.androidfilesharing.com/d123f6f2cfa13038 are all identical - and we only need one or the other. Please identify the other TOT links as mirrors to the same file, so people aren't downloading all of them unnecessarily (especially as they each are so very large).
2. There is already a MegaLock.dll file installed in the LGFlashTool folder once the application is installed. When you say add .dll files to the LGFlashTool folder, please clarify if MegaLock.dll needs to be overwritten by the other file with the same name (found in Setup_LGFlashTool_1.8.1.1023.zip), or otherwise. It might also help to clarify specifically which dll files are moving to the LGFlashTool folder, and from where. I ended up overwriting the default MegaLock.dll with the one you provided before I started the process...
3. Ports won't often show in Device Manager unless you go to View and then Show Hidden Devices in the Device Manager application.
4. After clicking the yellow arrow, unplugging and plugging the phone back in did nothing to start the process. Nor did plugging it back in while holding volume up (like in your 2nd step). I had to unplug, power the phone on, and then when the red Verizon screen appeared I plugged back in. This triggered the start of the Flash process. An easy way to tell you're in the right spot during the process: the red Verizon screen will disappear and a Firmware Updating screen will pop up to show you progress on the phone. When done, the phone will power cycle automatically...then, after a few other brief items, the red "3" on the blue screen will appear.
WARNING: Don't forget to close the LGFlashTool on your PC when you're done. Because...if you have anything else to do during the same session (such as rooting the phone), when you power cycle the phone while it's still plugged into your PC, LGFlashTool will take over and proceed to flash your phone again!!
Thanks again for your hard work. The tutorial was indeed helpful.

Issue is I can't find the COM ports in the device manager. Running Windows 8.1 pro, don't see a section for the COM ports. I do see CDC EM, CDC Serial and LGE Android Phone, but when I right click, there is no PORT option to change....
I know I am getting close if I can just figure how to change the port on the device manager.
Any help?

Quick question, apologies if it's idiotic -- basically I (stupidly, it turns out) tried to change my VZW boot animation. No dice. But now I can't get the old one back to working again, which is buggin me out.
QUESTION: Would reflashing to stock in the manner described in this thread completely restore the phone, including that boot animation? I'm just crazy enough about this to actually do it, if it'd work.
Thanks A TON for any info.

I tried to flash latest rom from Asus website to my new Zenfone C because it had a weird issue, it came the user interface in taiwanesse, but when trying to change to english, it stayed in taiwanesse, so I wasnt able to setup it in first place.
Then, it came to my mind to flash the latest rom, and I used this guide in absence of a Zenfone C guide for flashing:
http://en.zenfoneasus.com/zenfone-recovering-returning-stock-rom-downgrade-clean-update-guide/
I did all the steps listed there first, and then tried the steps but with the red marked steps, flashing the dnx and ifwi also, no result.
The problem is that now im stuck in a bootloop, and cant advance from there, the Asus logo stays there forever.
What happened during flashing is this:
When I sideloaded the update.zip containing latest rom from Asus website, it said:
-Installing update
-Device image SKU: ww
OTA image SKU: WW
and suddenly after that it restarted, showed a huge Intel Inside logo that I never saw and then went to the dead android image. After waiting a while, the phone restarts, this time only showing the Asus logo with the Intel Inside logo beneath it (not the Intel Inside logo only that I mentioned earlier), and stays there forever.
I dont know what else to do, I dont know if Im doing something wrong.
Were you ever able to fix the problem?
No, until now, no

Select your phone model i.e. ZC451CG
Choose if you want to wipe data or not. I chose "Wipe Data" since I had everything backedup on asus web storage.
Click that box icon and browse for the signed zip image file you downloaded earlier.
Select your device on the ASUS flash Tool by clicking on the serial number like shown in the picture below.
( It had me scratch my head after one failed attempt because I didn't select it the first time! :silly
Click on the green start button, be patient, stay calm and cross your fingers. This could take 10-20minutes or so.:fingers-crossed:
If everything went well your phone should bootup to the welcome screen like the day 1 you got it.
Now, the zip image is quite old so after the initial setup the phone would prompt you with lots of system and app updates. Go with it and enjoy! :victory:
Lastly, don't be shy of pressing that " :good:Thanks! " button if this post helped you.

IT WORKEEEED!!!! I dont know how to thank you man!. Thank you so much, I was going to give up on this device!. Its working really well.
The only thing I came into trouble, was to install the USB drivers included in the Asus Flash Tool. I did the following (on Windows 8.1 64bits):
I disabled driver signature check first on windows.
I went to the USB drivers folder inside the ASUS Flash tool folder on Program Files.
I went here C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Flash Tool\Driver\USBDriverInstaller\devcon\x64
On that folder, there is a program called devcon.exe, right click on it, and select properties.
On compatibility tab select Run as Administrator, click ok.
After this, reinstall USB drivers by going to C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Flash Tool\Driver\USBDriverInstaller and here execute install_drivers.bat
Thats it, the phone now should be recognized by the Asus Flash Tool.

Those raw files are extremely difficult to find so if you pretend to have any of those phones i recommend to download. It works easily if you have fastboot. If you only have adb i did not saw working but i am trying.

If you try to do that under adb they give a serial number mistake.
4 days trying to solve this bootloop using adb. At least one person here saved his phone with the raw links i found using google webcache in this vietnamese link so it was worth it. Looks like i will need to lose 40 days sending to Asus in Sao Paulo. What a hell folks, those asus firmwares are really crap. Set a great hardware for set poor software.
