Hello,
I need your help.
I've a LS990 for international use with Lollipop (5.0.1 and ZV8) and it was working fine. I tried to unlock the G3 so, I needed root so I used LG Root Script but by mistake I didn't notice I was using LG Root Script 2.4 for ZVA instead 1.2 or 1.3. Now, I can't access to internet through WiFi (I can connect to WiFi Networks but when I try to browse it has DNS problems or server problems, I tried other WiFi networks and same problem), I can't unlock it, I can't use 3G data and well, I thought to flash to stock rom and now the download mode has secure booting error certification verify and my laptop only recognizes it as QHSUSB_bulk in Device Manager. I cant use LG Flash Tool.
- I can access to Recovery Mode
- I can access to the System (everything is working fine except browsing)
Does anyone know how can I flash to stock ROM or fix these problems? I need root to unlock it and flash or update to ZVA and ZVB.
I was reading other threads but nothing.
Thank you

Reboot to recovery and flash the rom from the following thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...990-zvb-root-method-zvb-rooted-stock-t3211878
Also to fix download mode flash laf.img for your bootloader version. You can do that through recovery or in a working rom with root using the dd command. The img files for all of the partitions can be found at the following link. http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G3/LS990/stock_partitions

You could try http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359 and you don't even have to open your phone up or short it as it is already seen as QHSUSB_bulk just follow the rest of the steps.
just flash your zva laf partition and then the sbl1 to reboot

My bro accidentally clicked on OTA upgrade. I have bootloader unlocked , rooted P765 with cwm 6.0.2. I searched this forum for solutions and got some.Unfortunately none worked for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247371 - this method did not work . my phone also has some issues with USB i guess. Everytime i connect to pc , i get device not detected error. screes attached.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40423549&postcount=2 ----this did not work. same as above.
i also tried with exitrecovery.zip . It ran successfully from CWM but everytime i boot, phone still goes to CWM recovery mode.
exitrecovery has following code
busybox echo -ne "\066" | busybox dd bs=1 seek=4107 count=1 conv=notrunc of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8
I did trial and error with mmcblk0p till 1-20 with no success.
Here comes the saddest part...I also went to LG service centre. He also couldn't help. That guy told me motherboard is dead due to rooting.
I am sure that my p765 is very much alive.
I can go to Software upgrade mode on my phone, but my pc doesnt recognize it. I have latest LG drivers installed on my system.
NOw i think only way out of this could be a script to flash from CWM. Please help me!!.
I tried flashing other roms like Superlumina,Avatar. Also tried Ubuntu touch with no success. Still goes to CWM.
I am on JB India V20A.
Thanks in advance.

You need to install fastboot drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2119090
Turn off the phone and remove the battery. Download THIS and exctract it to C:/. Open device manager in windows (Rigt click on Computer > Manage > Device manager) and connect your phone without the battery to pc via USB cable.
'This' link is broken... u have the files brother?

My P765 got stuck up with CWM recovery after an OTA update. I flashed some custom rom's but still it does end up in CWM recovery only.
Could you please upload the CWM zip to flash the stock recovery. So that I can get to back to my P765.

The following will work with all OTA boot loops to recovery. The guide is for p765 but it will work with all variants. If you flashed a custom ROM trying to fix the problem, please restore your stock rom backup. Also, if you still have artas182x locked bootloader recovery (or you removed any system apps), the update will fail, but you will be of the loop
what kdz are you currently on? I made the zip but i need the extracted p765 recovery.img.
If you have the kdz please extract the recovery.img (look at my signature on how to extract it).
i could give you the p760 20b recovery.img but I think it would be best to use the recovery.img of the current kdz you are on (to be on the safe side).
Note: if this doesn't work, you will need to use the unoffical fastboot. So you might want to get fastboot setup before trying this. Actually, you probably won't need fastboot, but you will need to restore your custom recovery.
Or use the longer method (takes more time, depends on your download speed), LG mobile support tool.
Once you get the stock recovery.img for your kdz, Open the p765_stock_recovery.zip and copy the 3-recovery.img into the zip file.
Note: Don't change the name of the recovery.img or it will not work
The recovery must be named 3-recovery.img
Place it on you sdcard and flash with cwm and reboot.
Or sideload into your phone with cwm and your computer
Code:
adb sideload p765_stock_recovery.zip

Hi, I'm kind of a noob, so sorry if this is a dumb question.
I just installed the new Lollipop Fimware on my Z2, using Flashtool. Now I want to root the device, but reading through articles on XDA or XperiaBlog, they all said you need to use older firmware. So my question is, can you root the Z2 with Lollipop?
I'd be grateful for helpful answers.

Things needed:
PC, fastboot driver, know how to boot to bootloader(fastboot mode) and recovery mode
Now you can without having old kernel (not firmware)
go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/kernel-andropluskernel-v10-t2974841 extract boot.img from the zip file.
Boot your phone to fastboot mode and in command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Go to recovery mode after restarting and then get UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip and flash it via newly installed TWRP recovery.

Same here. I'm a noob wanting to learn how to root. But this went over my head :/
Would using PRF creator work? If you bundled the lollipop firmware with supersu.zip and flashed it would it give you lolipop with root? Because this is what i did to update to 4.4.4 with root. For anyone that doesnt know PRF creator is a program which combines 3 files which is are firmware of your choice, a superSU.zip and a recovery.zip. It combines them into a .zip that you can flash in recovery and have the firmware with superSU and a custom recovery on it.
I have a locked bootloader and mines rooted, do you want me to say how?
If its on lollipop, i would very much like to know how.
Isn't this the exact same answer as rooting 4.4.4?
Downgrade to 4.4.2
Root
Install recovery
Install rooted lollipop zip in recovery
If you don't understand this or the method posted above don't root. Also, if.you can't google things like fastboot to understand what it is don't root.

Bootloop
Everything was fine, till i tried superSU. Twrp flashed it fine, but then when i tried to reboot, the device got stuck in a bootloop.
wipe cache/delvik also didnt help.
I have a new z2, then unlocked the bootloader, and then got the Norway rom using xperifirm.
Norway rom installed fine. twrp installed fine. But i am facing a bootloop now that i have flashed UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Anybody else face this issue?

try wiping just "Dalvik Cache" and restart again. I have also face similar strange issue when I was using FlashTool a couple of times.
If that doesn't work try normal wiping from TWRP and install firmware using FlashTool.

I'm no Android/Lollipop/Rooting expert but using an unlocked boot loader I was able to root Lollipop (23.1.A.0.690 ) easily using the kernel from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ot-stock-flashable-kernel-23-1-0-690-t3061816
My steps were:
1. Install Lollipop
2. fastboot flash boot boot.img (to install above mentioned kernel with TWRP recovery)
So far so good.
PS: To use fastboot you'll likely need the drivers from flashtool (http://www.flashtool.net/index.php) and if on Win 8.1 you'll need to search for instructions on how to install unsigned drivers.

Is there root only for Baltic ROM? I am on Nordic and I want root is that possible?
First and foremost all credit goes to @bender_007 for making this for me.
all i had to do is provide some files from the Sprint LS990
and he was able to create this mod "AutoRec" method to flash TWRP
Fastest Safest way to flash Custom Recovery for those on Stock Rom with Root Access ONLY.
DISCLAIMER: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE NOR WILL I BE ABLE TO HELP YOU OUT OF A BRICK OR BOOTLOOP!
Finally what I and many of us have been waiting for!
Simple APK (AutoRec) flash TWRP (OneClick) method.
Must be on Stock Rom Lollipop and Rooted.
***ONLY FOR THE SPRINT VARIANT (LS990)***
has not been tested on any other devices.
Steps
- Download APK
- Install APK
- Open App
- Wait a few seconds while it does some backup.
- Wait for prompt to say that it is ready to flash.
- Click the button to Flash TWRP
- Wait for it to be done.
Once done Power off device and boot to racovery.
and finally... PROFIT!!!
Here is original download link from @Bender007 to him goes all credit

Please make sure to thank @bender_007 he is the original creator of "AutoRec" and he did all the hard work.

So autorec downgrades the bootloader to jb ? And does it stay jb after I upgrade to 2.8.6.1 bump?

Yup just rooted and installed TWRP on ZVA...got the same "Security Error" and power off. Downloading BarePapA to an SD card now, will post results once installed!
Yes it worked.
Here was what i did:
Started with a bone stock Sprint G3 running 5.0.1 ZVA
Ran the one click root for ZVA. Rooted successfully
Installed the TWRP one click APK. The phone booted into TWRP and went into download mode fine but would display "Security Error" and turn off if a regular boot was attempted.
I downloaded BarePapA V1 and threw it onto an SD card. Booted into TWRP and followed the install directions on the ROM page. Install was a success. It booted fine. Took a minute to prepare the apps as usual but everything works and i am rooted. Posting from the phone now. Great modded stock ROM by the way.
I've got the autorec also for zva. It doesn't boot because of more recent kernel. I can post it. Basically you can just flash a kernel and it will work.
EDIT:
Autorec ls990 ZVA - download
Poslano sa mog LG-D855 koristeći Tapatalk
this worked for me. But now we're on ZVB. i ended up downloading the pre-rooted from autoprime
Upload me the kernel please

This worked for me on ZV8 with root. Thanks! I do have one question though. The boot.img of the stock kernel that was replaced and the new kernel that was installed is of a different size. The new kernel image is ~13.5 MB while the stock ZV8 kernel image is ~16.8 MB. What are the changes between the two or the origin?
On a side note, I attempted to flash a factory ZV8 boot image and the bootloader said no way. I then flashed a bumped factory ZV8 image and it worked as it should.
few days before i restart my phone into recovery mode as a result my entire data go deleted as it factory reset my phone (first time i have noticed that by entering recovery mode phone got factory reset)
however now i have managed to installed twrp but now scared into recovery mode as i am not sure it was successfully installed or not.. IF NOT then again my phone will be factory reset
kindly any one let me know how do i check that my phone has TWRP or not
First, more information. What version of the stock ROM are you on (10B, 12B, etc) and what way did you install TWRP?
You can always use the superuser terminal commands in @bweN diorD 's stickied thread in General to pull an .IMG of your currently installed recovery, then you can use am Android app like @scary alien 's AFV / Android File Verifier to check the MD5 hash of what you pulled and compare it to the MD5 of what you flashed.
10b and used twrp manager from playstore
The rest of process u mentioned was gone above my head.. Kindly let me know easy way any software which cal tell me twrp installed or not

There's no other way other than what I told you unless TWRP Manager reports what's installed. TWRP Manager has never failed to install TWRP for me on any ROM that's supported, which includes 10B, not sure about 12B, but definitely not any newer, 23C, 24B or 35B. If you're on 10B, you installed TWRP Manager, gave it root permissions and told it to install TWRP for the VS985 I wouldn't have any doubt that it worked. I've done it in that same scenario several times.
To clarify not working on 23C and above, it will actually install TWRP just fine on any of them. You just either won't be able to use it, or you won't be able to boot the ROM after, or both, because of the secure boot error, but that has nothing to do with TWRP itself.
@bender_007 's autorec app will install an older version of TWRP just fine on 23C or 24B. The one in the Play Store is ONLY for 23C and if you expand the description of the app, he gives a link to his XDA thread in the non-Verizon G3 General section, where has separate versions for 23C and 24B. Once you use his app on 23C or 24B, you can flash the latest version from the older version.
Can confirm about autorec, I used it on version 24B to install TWRP, but I accidentally installed it in 35B and got the secure boot error. I was able to boot to recovery right before that however, so if this happens to you, you can boot to TWRP using the Volume Down + Power button trick to get into custom recovery and choosing "Factory data reset" which won't delete your data, and connect your phone to a PC to move your stuff out before restoring it.
Anyway, if you're comfortable with ADB I have successfully flashed TWRP with these instructions

You were able to use ADB to install TWRP on 35B or 24B? I'm trying to get it on 35B rooted with Kingroom and replaced with SuperSU and keep getting the Secure Boot Error.

I should have rephrased that. Did you successfully install TWRP on 35B or only 24B?

You wouldn't happen to know how people are installing TWRP on 35B without getting Secure Boot Errors, would you?

I have been searching in the internet for hours, trying every method i could understand and none of them worked. the main problem is the official bootloader unlock tool provided by asus is not working, it just restarts the phone and it is still locked. one solution is flash a custom recovery without unlocking phone and another way is unlock without the official app or maybe root without custom recovery, i would be happy if someone explains a way to root this phone.
indeed. the official bootloader unlock is not working and just restarting with no changes.
Then i tried to flash TWRP via fastboot it says Ok but no TWRP when I proceed to recovery its only stock recovery.

I don't really need to root it, and instead of creating new thread I'd ask here;
The L1 is my wife's phone now, it's unroot, and never need to be,...can somebody tell me the guide of how to get rid the bloatwares on it? With adb on pc perhaps?
Thank you in advance.

I suppose that you've already turned developer mode on and enabled the USB debugging.
Did you either reboot the phone by yourself or it did that automatically after flashing twrp? There are some devices that just restart and get the official bootloader back. This auto restart overwrites the bootloader.
Some people say that after flashing twrp you must unplug the device and then reboot directly to bootloader by yourself, holding the power and volume up buttons . Have you tried it?
