Play Store Notifications - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well now I am wondering if it's just me or anyone else having this issue.
I do not let the Play Store auto update apps. I like to do it because it gives me a chance to decide if I want to keep it or not.
I have been noticing that I am not getting notifications from the Play Store when an app needs to be updated. Anyone else noticing this?

I do not have this issue. Make sure you go into notifications area of play store and check "app updates available".

Yup. That's done.

[Q] Updates for apps downloaded thru Amazon App store?

Do apps downloaded through Amazon app store get automatic updates?
they get updated through the amazon app store, but i'm not sure if it's auto like the android market is. in you account in the amazon app store, look at your apps and it might list updates there.
Ive never had them auto update.

(Q) Play Store goes to main Page?

If I'm looking for an app on the Play Store, then open a different app, then go back to the Play Store, it'll show the app you were looking at, then go back to the main Page of the store. Is there a fix for this? It's extremely annoying. I've wiped the cache and data but nothing has changed. Thanks!

Google Maps Fix?

Anyone else notice Google maps taking 30-40% of battery usage? Anyone know a fix for this?
Edit: I have Google now disabled.

How often do you use it? You can keep it from starting up on its own with Autostarts from the play store, or freeze it completely with Ti Backup pro...

"An updated version of Facebook is available"...

Hi, I'm not really sure what to do about this screen. I started getting a notification that seems to come from the official app (I long tapped, and checked the notification info), but this "update" apparently needs to be side loaded onto the system instead of installed through the Play Store. Has anyone else gotten this update prompt? I'm not sure what to do here.

i just got that just right now, its very weird...facebook getting hacked???
Now I'm getting a suspicious looking sign in error that is prompting me to sign in with my Google account. Something is definitely spamming me.
i found this on search supposedly explaining it
Facebook pushes Android update to enable silent updates (bypassing the Play Store)
Facebook appears to be doing an end run around the Google by pushing an update to the social network’s open app to Android users today… and the update isn’t coming from the Google Play Store. The Facebook app on your phone downloads the update automatically and then beeps or vibrates incessantly until you install it (or uninstall the app altogether).
So what does the new version of Facebook for Android do?
According to Facebook it lets you change your profile picture using the mobile app, allows you to hide stories and report spam, and start group messages more quickly.
But there’s one other thing the new app does: It allows itself to download future updates without alerting you.
If you look at the permissions required by the app, there’s a new one that says “download files without notification.”
This effectively lets the Facebook app for Android automatically update itself without going through the Google Play Store. It’s not clear exactly why Facebook is taking this step. But once you’re prompted to download the new version of the mobile app the only alternatives appear to be to put up with annoying notifications or remove the Facebook app from your Android device.

I'm having the same problem. I installed google play services 4.0 and unfortunately that did not fix it.
It's a widespread issue across multiple devices and carriers. We just have to wait for the correct version from the play store.

Yeah had that issue too and figured out that have to wait for official release.

once i actually enable the SMS On my ATT GN3 it just force closes the app all together..cant do ****.
Sprint Note 3
Haven't noticed any force closing on the Sprint Note 3. Only problem is every time that I reboot I lose this version installed, which is kind of annoying. It's nice though when it is on the SMS enabled version it is definitely my favorite messaging app.
