Just for fun, I tweeted the pic from this Web page back to LG UK.
http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-trolls-samsung-for-not-bringing-the-note-5-to-europe-635580/
So after a few days, I got this reply via dm.
(attached) so what do you all think? Should I hold out and wait or is it a lost cause?
If they're telling you that, then they have very good reasons for it. Either it's not coming at all, or in any reasonable length of time. So if you really want the phone, your best bet is to just import the H960 model - it supports all necessary bands for every UK carrier.

Doesn't have full compatibility with any of the carriers:

But the H960 does:

Wow thanks for that.
H960 it could be!
Thanks again!
I thought they already announced it will be in Europe before Xmas? I ordered the Korean version then cancelled it because it's 4g not compatible with Vodafone and o2

So did I, very confusing picture here. All I want to know is..... is it or isn't it so that I know to wait or order the international version. Extremely annoying of LG not to tell us, I have a G3 and I want to upgrade to this phone because I love the idea of app switching between my favourite apps full screen from the mini screen without having to go back to the home screen each time. I also like the idea of the fingerprint reader.

The LG V10 is now available for presale in the US and some European markets. It is confirmed for release in the UK. If you want to buy the LG V10, it’s price will be between US$600 and US$700 off-contract. There is only a 64 GB model available, which also comes with 4 GB of RAM, a microSD slot and removable battery. It will be available in white, space black, beige, ocean blue and opal blue.
Couldnt be bothered waiting another 2 months for the lg v10 to be released in the uk so i just ordered the black H961N dual sim version off ebay for 489 pounds , it took 4 days to get here tracked well packaged in original box fast charger quad beats 3 headset all perfectly working which is a steal as when this phone drops in the uk price will be 600+ lol ..... Anyways i usually use giffgaff as the 4G unlimited data is nice for 20 pounds a month , but this phone dosent support 4G on o2 network and the giffgaff network is piggy back riding the o2 infrastructure so that means no 4G coverage ,,,, i still get a good 3G connection but its nothing like 4G ““ so as this version of the LG V10 is dual sim ive ordered a 4G nano sim from the EE network which will run side by side with my giffgaff sim network and should give me 4G network coverage which should solve my 4G problem `` and this LG variant dosent work on Vodafone at all which im not bothered about anyways ,, but with all this being said ive upgraded from the LG G3 and i absolutely love this phone “ looks and feels great ( premium feel ““ good performance i.e multitasking , day to day tasks are a breeze @ cameras are great ( all three of them lol ) i get 5 hours screen time with ( my) normal moderate use “ the second screen is not a gimmick its nice to be able to switch between recent apps without opening the app draw and no more annoying pop up notifications on your main screen “ i carnt wait for the devs to tweek the second screen it has alot of untouched potential ” i could probably go on and on about this phone but until you hold this beast you won't understand how well designed this phone is ““ i have one disappointment with this phone which is the bottom speaker , it can sound a little tinny at high volume which is a shame but hey nothings perfect “ but i mainly consume media with headphones anyways so its all good as a ringer “ all in all its 500 pound well spent i paid that for my LG G3 2 years ago

You're incorrect in saying the phone doesn't work on Vodafone. It has the 2600 band for LTE which vodafone use. It doesnt' have the 800 band though.
How much are you paying for your second SIM? Seems too much of a hassle. Do you have to switch in order to use the data from the second sim?

How does the size feel vs the LG G3. I have the G3 but unsure about the size
The phone is large but coming from the lg g3 its not that much of a difference
---------- Post added at 03:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:46 PM ----------
Were i bought it from it said it didnt work on Vodafone oh well there mistake ” i paid 2 pounds delivered for the EE sim card the sims should work in tandom as i only have one sim in now and on the lockscreen it says i have signal for sim 1 but no sim for sim 2 and it wouldn't be and no its no hassle at all ““ it also has a sim switch toggle for the on screen soft keys which is a handy feature if you do have to switch between sims to use the 4G data ““ phone calls should just come through as normal

the korean version H961N has band 2600 which vodafone used for 4G, however, Vodafone also use the 800 band which travels further and through walls better so technically you can get 4g on Vodafone with the H961N but it might be a bit weaker than normal. Is it worth it then?!
I'd like the option of a dual sim as I travel quite a bit but I'm in the UK most of the time so I need strong 4G
Why are they taking so long! I want the Ocean Blue version and I want it now!!

I too am on GiffGaff and awaiting V10 in UK, however I haven't been brave enough to order one from Ebay - yet!
Have you explored the possiblity of opening up LTE band 20 via the service menu? If I understand correctly, it can be done on the G4, what about the V10 also?
I had read on the Net somewhere that O2 block the use of their SIMs on Dual SIM phones. Presumably you have not found this problem?
I may well go along the same route as you and buy a H961N as I am annoyed that the H960 bound for Europe only has 32Gb storage. I reckon we are being short changed over here as usual.

The G4 supports band 20 800MHz, so does a different model of this phone as per once of the first posts in this thread. There are 2 or 3 different models aimed at different markets. When the 'real' UK / Europe model is released for sale it will support band 20.
I spoke to Jason at LG Electronics UK on Monday (I assume it is the same person). He said they are aiming to release the V10 in the UK in 4-6 weeks but couldn't confirm the release date. It would be nice if they offered a similar bundle to the one in the USA, although I guess it is unlikely.

I well realise that both the G4 and V10 come in many different variants, H960, H961N etc. set up for the territories the variant is intended to be sold in. However I'm pretty sure that hardware wise they are much the same , aside from dual-sim or 32Gb/64Gb storage. Therefore the frequency selection must be in firmware ? If so, does it need more than access to the service menu to add LTE bands? eg band 20 on the H961N.
Do you "thinewonk" by any chance work for LG as your statement looks like a stock company reply.
I'm really looking for the views of "ruk212" , as I may be going down the same route as him since we live in RipOff Britain.

My cell phone is dopod 830,also called Prophet,it used for more than three years. Now is Chinese Spring Festival, and I can be given sums of money from the adult.I wanna to buy htc Diamond 2 before, but since I have tried to play htc G2,I had been attracted, althought I haven't used Android System before.
To be honest,WM System is more attraction to me.Lately I found Toshiba TG01 is become cheaper than before, and the price in oversea buy is better than in China. So I wanna to buy it oversea, but I haven't decide where to buy is the best choice.I have friends in Toronto,San Francisco and Australia, and some of them will come back China lately.I want to know where to buy is more suitable? It's better to buy an unlocked phone. And can you show me the price you know?
Thx of all.
In UK you can pick 1 up for £150 and £10 you can unlock it on the web. Don`t know what the other countries are charging tho. May be Ebay you can get it cheaper. Good luck.
eaby cannot use in China...althought i have an international credit card, but is in US pay not UK...
can i unlock the machine myself?
£150 is very good price!I wanna to buy in Hong Kong, but need nearly £250, a bit expensive...

Still not unlocking method. Think before buying. If it's me I go buy a Iphone 3G. I did the mistake buy one. For Iphon you have a lot of help and program. TG01 have = 0. It's true have a big skreen and is fast but still hard locked.
Think before buying.
Maybe iPhone 3GS is better.I agree that iPhone is a good machine, but in China,we cannot use wifi everywhere as western countries. What is the worse, that Youtube cannot be connected. If I live in Hong Kong,iPhone is my choise, without thinking.
But you said that TG01 is = 0,I think it's too exaggerate.Although its now popular as htc,but it still a wm phone, isn't it?

Proobably can't do GPRS, and instead of the 3G icon you get HSDPA instead, and a roaming icon
Cheap price seems always far from me...what bad luck!
Well..i got mine in Italy over the net and got it mailed to me in Malaysia where I work just over a month ago for EUROS 280:-...compared to when it was first launched in 2009 and it was going for EURO 560:- or something in that neighbourhood of prices
The additional good news is that from the moment I got it and turned it on until now:
1. It has never hung
2. The audio in-call quality has always been great.
3. It is damn fast and showed little or no lag.
4. Battery is good enough unless you are using wifi and playing around with it 24/7
5. Ringer is a little on the quiet side (reminds me of the Motorola 'Ming' I bought 4 years ago) BUT it is not at all as bad as many have described.
Guess maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones but then again I guess I did something with my TG01..basically I did NOTHING never tried changing flashing ROMS, installing Manila, Jakarta etc or whatever else was never intended to be on it in the first place.
Now might the time in the UK to buy one...
I keep being tempted by this phone, just because of the size of the screen alone. Also, in the Orange shops here in the UK, the unit price has gone down to £129, but I don't know what the obligatory top up would be. If anyone has one here in the UK, what is the multimedia on it like? Are you able to download BBC iPlayer programmes to watch on it when commuting etc.? I'd be grateful for any input

Yes, if you use a program like Iplayer downloader or similar you can download videos from iplayer (and automatically remove DRM) and then play them on the phone, I watch videos almost every day as I commute; the good thing is that the core player that comes with the phone has got hardware acceleration so the videos are played smoothly and it play xvdi/divx files (if you know where to get them from )
Cheers
Hi I think if you have a problems with budget, than TG01 will be sold in Eastern Eur with 40% discount. If the point isn't in money, than wait for a TG02, its a real HD2 and iPhone killer
I'm currently a proud owner of a Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V running Android 4.0.4 It's a great little phone- I'm guessing it is virtually indestrcutible- (I dropped it. ALOT. And spilled some water. Not even a hiccup!). It's a little phone that could and for something like this- it's amazing, but I feel it's time for an upgrade. As great as it is, let's face it. It's ancient. A 600MHz ARM V6 processor, 418MB of memory, and it's screen is only 3.2". It's opnly supposed to run Froyo. /FROYO/. That's pretty ancient. I'm looking for a new phone, but here's the catch- It has to be on a reasonably inexpensive pre-paid plan. (My parents don't want me to get a contract and I don't blame them, they can be expensive.) Virgin Mobile (My current carrier; 35 dollars a month with unlimited 3G) has only two "decent" phones- A 199.99 HTC One V. A SOLID phone but seriously, 512MB RAM and a SINGLE CORE 1GHz is really not a lot. On the other hand, they have the 300 dollar Evo V 3D with 4G, though it's not really something I want and it's a bit over my prace range- (Up to 250 USD).
While searching plans, I found T-Mobile's 30 dollar Monthly 4G plan. It's wonderful for me. I don't call much but I use lots of data and text alot. T-Mobile also has better coverage, and this is 4G. Not boring old 3G. (I don't mind 3G, but 4G is just better.) While thinking of decent phones I could manage to get GSM Unlocked, I thought Galaxy SII, Galaxy Nexus, and a few others. I looked all around Craigslist NYC, Amazon, Google, and Ebay for all phones and I found that on ebay the bids for a decent SII in decent condition could reasonably be bought for under $250 (T-Mobile/GSM). I'm wondering- Do I need the GSM or the T-Mobile variant, or will either work. Is this phone good and a value for the money? I really like the design and the specs on it. It also has lots of JB ROMs and Native ICS which is a HUGE plus.
Also, is there any difference between the SII with the Capacitive buttons and the one with a huge Home button? (P.S.: I like the one with all capacitive buttons more )
Thanks for reading this.Any answers/input is greatly appreciated.
Edit! I was looking at the ebay link again and found a website called Wirefly where they are offering a SII 4G for 100 bucks if I make a new account. Does this count with a Prepaid account? And if so, is the SII 4G compatible with normal SII roms?

Your profile says you're in the US, so I'm assuming your talking about T-Mobile USA.
The Galaxy S II for T-Mobile is massively different than the "one with the huge home button", as you refer to it. They have completely different hardware, including SoC/CPU/GPU.
The "one with the huge home button" is the I9100, and this post is currently in the forum for that device.
The one for T-mobile USA that has the 4 capacitive buttons is the SGH-T989, and that device has its own forum.
There are also other variants for US carriers AT&T, Sprint, and US Cellular. The one for US Cellular doesn't have its own forum but is somewhat closely related hardware wise to the Sprint variant, so there are posts concerning it within that forum. But the AT&T, Sprint, and T-mobile USA variants are all different from each other, and they are all different from the I9100.

Pretty sure they only have one.
If you have questions about the T-mobile version, you should post in the T-mobile forum. This device does work on T-mobile USA's network, but only gets Edge, as it doesn't fully work to get "4G" on that network.

You need to consider what network you're intending on running the device on before you get the device itself.
The i9100 gets high speed data on AT&T's network, but only gets Edge on T-mobile USA's network. There's nothing that can be done about this; the phone antenna hardware just doesn't receive one of the two necessary frequencies to make it happen.
I've heard rumors that the T-mobile variant can be modified to get high speed data on AT&T's network, but it doesn't work that way out of the box.
The LTE variant that AT&T sells (the Skyrocket) can reportedly be modified to get high speed data on T-mobile USA's network, but it doesn't work that way out of the box.
EDIT: BTW, the Skyrocket has its own separate forum from the AT&T variant as well.

As I said, the i9100 (which is the international device) will only get Edge speeds on T-mobile USA's network. As long as you know this going in...
Any questions pertaining to the device actually sold by T-mobile should go to the forum for that device.

BTW - the implication in your first post is that 4G is VERY important to you. You DO realize that this eliminates the I9100 as a possible choice for your device to use on T-mobile's network, right?

Its fine, really. I simply do not like any of the T-Mobile prepaid phones. Bad dev support/specs. I'd gladly get a postpaid but they're expensvce , contracts are a hassle, and my parents won't let me get a contract: prepaid only. I live 4 blocks from a TMobile phone, I can just buy the plan there.
Also, I think the S3 is out of my price range. Plus, the s2 is still a great phone and I kinda like the design more.
Hey all,
Really interested in getting one of these to replace my Mediapad X2. Can anyone tell me how it performs on U.S.A. GSM networks like T-Mo and ATT? Are you getting consistent 4G LTE? Will this handle the upcoming 5G bands? Can the phone portion be operated with and without the speaker enabled? Much obliged!!
Steve
right now got answer by US Huawei chat guy: "might be launched in a couple of months in the USA market".
M3 owner here. Even if it's an incremental update from the M3, it's going to be an awesome unit. That said I just wanted to offer a quick word of caution.
The M3's wifi is 5ghz capable but is disabled by default with a setting you can't change unless you root the device. The reasoning was some really iffy corporate double-talk about FCC conflicts. That said, after rooting this M3 is a dream. I don't know if the M5 will have this same issue in the US, but if the FCC line has not changed you might need to root. And if you need to, strap yourself in- because Huawei root support is sparse at best.
Rooting the M3 was not difficult per se, but a good number of people (including myself) hit snags because there's conflicting data/results as to the best way to get there. Once you get to the proper image and learn how Huawei's partitions work, it's not too bad. Just be ready for a learning curve. It's a far cry from rooting OnePlus...
So if it turns out that the 5ghz comes locked in the US, either be ready to run 2.4 for a while or wait until someone develops root. Good luck!
Thanks for the info, seven. I'm concerned about the wifi issue you discuss, but I'd be more excited to get an LTE phone in the US. Don't know how much longer AT&T will provide the connectivity I need to keep my X2 working.
The thing with the M5 is how long it's taking to get these out there. The phone was released well over a month ago and I can not find a single seller either on Amazon or E Bay. I'm starting to feel as if it was all a joke.
It should work with US LTE. Towards the bottom of this page shows what bands the M5 has and what bands each network uses.

Quite often items are cheaper coming from Amazon Germany than the Amazon UK, plus the MediaPad is supplied and delivered by Amazon, not through a third party.

To be honest the 32GB isn't really a problem.
I've loaded all my apps and still have well over 15GB left.
All my photo and video live on the micro SD card.
Did some further investigating. The one currently available in Europe does but have the bands for LTE in the US. Maybe we can hope for an international version, but I doubt very much that this will ever see the light of day in the US. May be a legal issue or something. Otherwise, why wouldn't all manufactures just open up the US bands just for the heck of it. After all, the US is one of the top three consumer markets in the world.
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's consumer business group, isn't giving up on the US yet... They really want to sell the P20 here. Hoping they bring the Mediapad M5, too.

This is a link to the Huawei promo info for the M5 on the US Huawei website. The only thing it doesn't have is a 'buy now' button. I'd say for sure, at this time! They are going to be available in the US soon. Really hoping to get one. asap.
https://consumer.huawei.com/us/tablets/mediapad-m5-8/
Nice that it's on the site. Wasn't there when I checked last week. Just hope the 8" gets a US release.
I saw a seller that ships to the US; but they only stock a wifi version of the tab. Hopefully, they will release an LTE version over here. Signs are looking good being that it's on the Huawei US site; but I never count my chickens until they are hatched. BTW, has anyone got answer about whether the tab has an ear speaker for calls or do you have to use a blue tooth?
For calls it is the loud speakers, or Bluetooth. No to the ear speaker.
I guess you could also go wired through the USB C adapter that is supplied not tried that yet.
It does work very well through the speakers if you don't mind being on 'loud speaker' to the world!

Does this happen in everyday use or only on that game? It can be a problem of optimization of that game on that device.

It happens with everything. I mean, in every day usage you won't notice it - but download a multi touch tester and you can see. I noticed it while playing a game, but in that application in the video I uploaded you can see it's just a normal app to check the multi-touch.

Best Buy announced they will stop selling Huawei mobile phones, laptops, etc.
AT&T and Verizon (I believe) won't be selling Huawei phones
Considering Amazon is still selling Huawei devices, I'm hoping that the MediaPad M5 will be available there.
Mine arrived today.
So far, very impressed.
All my core essential phone apps are working fine that I have loaded, and I'm going to be using it as a mega phablet replacing my 4 year old Sony Xperia Ultra. So the M5 acting as a phone more than a tablet is good for me.
HD video on memory card, and YouTube is simply stunning with the audio to match. Yes Netflix is pants, hope this is sorted but not a deal breaker as I don't normally watch Netflix on a tablet.
Will be connecting my LG watch sport to the M5 for call handling.
Need to sort a suitable case now.

I'm assuming you got the 53010BDL model - if not, please tell us the model number. What LTE bands does it have enabled? Either product box, or documentation that came with it should say that. I'm trying to figure out if this model is equivalent to SHT-AL09, listed on Huawei US website as the one, having LTE+GSM radios.
---------- Post added at 12:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:32 AM ----------
For US folks, who are like me, wondering if European 8.4" LTE version with GSM radio supports US LTE bands for T-Mobile and AT&T: I don't know how accurate this information is (perhaps someone, who owns this 53010BDL version can confirm?), but this site lists the available LTE bands for this model: https://www.conrad.com/ce/en/produc...G-LTE4G-Grey-Octa-Core-Android-80-Oreo-2560-x
According to the above, only FDD-LTE band 5 (850Mhz), used by T-Mobile, is overlapping with US carriers. There are no LTE bands, supported by AT&T.
This one however, lists different bands: https://www.centralpoint.nl/tablets...d-m5-8-lte-4gb-32gb-art-53010bdl-num-8253117/ and according to this site, B5 is not supported.
Another one without any US bands https://www.quickstore.it/ReadyIceC...ean=6901443213603&langCode=it&productID=85281
We really need clarity from someone who owns it
My European model is SHT-AL09, and the documentation quick start guide states on page 8:
GSM 900
GSM 1800
WCDMA 900, 2100
LTE Bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20, 34, 38, 40
Hope that helps!
Edit, don't think it covers any US frequency/bands?

You're absolutely right - unfortunately, it does not. T-Mobile uses FDD LTE B2,B4,B5,B12 and AT&T uses B2,B4,B5,B17
It can be frustrating, a year ago I bought a LG Watch Sport while in New York from AT&T, at the time, information available suggested it would work back home in Europe. It didn't. North American bands only.
Fortunately managed to buy an import from South Korea, the 'international version', that did, and also managed to sell on my US version at the same time.
So you do have to be careful before buying!

I live in Toronto, Canada. I got my Honor 8x yesterday. Works perfectly with Bell. I placed an order two weeks ago on ebay. A seller is in Florida.
This phone was confirmed for the USA back on September 27. It's now more than 3 months later and NOTHING. I was going to buy this phone if it was released in the USA a few months ago but by the time it gets here it will be old technology. Add in the fact that the US government hates Huawei/Honor I doubt we will ever see it. And if we do, it certainly won't see any updates.

Huawei's Honor brand has always been budget priced and so it was always "old technology" one way or another. If you want new technology, you gotta buy a Galaxy Note or similar. Having said that, I think what used to be newest technology around 2015 is basically what most people still really need to get by today.
I was certainly really interested in seeing the release of Honor 8x in the USA because that's my go-to budget brand, but if it does not arrive here, we could still have some other choices. For example, Lenovo's Moto G7. Based on speculations it should arrive some time in March.
JSN-L23
There is a version of this phone that you can purchase (I got mine on ebay, but also available on Amazon) that will work with certain U.S. carriers. At the least, is compatible with T-Mobile bands. I'm not sure about other carriers as I use Ting (which operates on T-Mobile network, and maybe AT&T but I'm not sure so don't quote me). Just make sure the model number is JSN-L23. And also double check your carriers frequency bands it uses and make sure they and the phones' are compatible. As I said, I use Ting which uses T-Mobiles network and I get full 4G LTE signal with 50+mb/s down consistently. The only downsides are, as of right now, it is only available in 4GB/64GB format and is only available in black & blue (no red which sucks cause is the best looking imo). And for some odd reason this model does NOT have dual band Wi-Fi so keep that in mind
