Successfully rooted Lenovo Vibe Turbo P1a42 (Lollipop 5.1.1) after trying so many one click root apps none worked but this.
I've made a word document for the detail procedure to root.
Visit the below link to download the word document:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8bNNF93RFxgVWIxT0RnMl9Idms/view
Note: I haven't upgraded to Marshmallow so i don't know if this procedure works on Android 6 Marshmallow. Even after rooting, the update for Marshmallow is available. I think upgrading to marshmallow would make root not to work. I don't know. Any of you who upgraded to marshmallow could try and let me know.
Hit Thanks if you like my work which took few hours to prepare the detailed procedure to root.

Enable developer options by tapping build number in About Phone and enable OEM unlocking then try unlocking bootloader.
Hello there. First you need a working custom recovery for your device (check this thread or search the forum). You also need to install the required drivers for your device to be recognized by your PC. You also need ADB to communicate with your device (I recommend Minimal ADB and Fastboot). Also download the SuperSU zip and copy it your device.
(1) Install drivers and ADB. Copy the custom recovery into the root folder of your ADB.
(2) Go to your device settings and enable "USB Debugging", on the developer settings enable "Allow OEM unlocking"
(3) In terminal/cmd:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
the first code boots your device into fastboot, the second code unlocks your bootloader. next
Code:
fastboot boot "recovery.img"
replace the "recovery.img" with the custom recovery image filename without the quotes. the code will temporarily boot the custom recovery (use this if you are not sure if the custom recovery works). If you want to flash it, use
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "recovery.img"
then reboot your device to recovery
(4) Navigate the installed/booted custom recovery and install the SuperSU zip file. Then reboot. (I suggest that you create backup first using the custom recovery before installing SuperSU)
(5) Check your device for root access.
I prefer the manual method than using "Rooting apps", you'll have more knowledge of your device and it is easy to spot if there are errors made during the process.
Goodluck

Hi, I have a problem where I typed in adb reboot fastboot and it only stuck on Lenovo Logo. But when I typed in fastboot devices, It does recognize my P1. When typed in fastboot oem unlock, it just fails...anyone got solution for this? What I can do is just fastboot reboot only...hmmm

just install twrp then install supersu v.2.71 binary update from TWRP. if u dont want a permanent TWRP recovery, extract the recovery.img then execute command "fastboot boot recovery.img" (assuming you already have the driver and fastboot.exe), and install the supersu binary update like usual. google it. or just port A6000+ recovery
I think you have to unlock the bootloader first. I have tried this option a few times and whilst it says it writes the recover.img, it boots just the same.
Hello!
I'm looking for a way to root my Lenovo A6010.How do I make a full backup of its ROM before I make any changes (like rooting or tampering with the boot loader)?
I could not find a TWRP for Lenovo A6010 on their official page. Can you please explain in more detail what modifications I have to make to obtain root privileges?I found 2 threads where the owners complained about bricking their phones with KingRoot.I need root to uninstall all the bloatware and to remove write restrictions from my SD card. Thanks in advance.
Later edit: I found a procedure for A6000 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a6000/how-to/root-root-lenovo-a6000-plus-lollipop-t3199532 that worked for me, I had to change the TWRP img from the package provided there with the one for A6010, you can find it on the 4th page of the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65346556&postcount=33 .
The good thing is that by following the A6000 tutorial TWRP will behave like a Linux Live CD, and the only modification to the phone's OS will be the installation of SuperSU.No changes to the bootloader or recovery partition.
Hi all!! recently I had been searching a lot for support on my device Micromax P681 Tab.
I tried googling around as well as on xda but no result found or something totally not related to my device.
For rooting my tab - I attempted Kingroot, Kingoroot, towelroot, one click root & meshuproot tool (both PC software as well as mobile software) but nothing work. Under developer option I have enable OEM unlock from setting as well fastboot oem bootloader unlock and retried above mentioned root tools but all failed to root my device.
Please someone help me in rooting my tab

I downloaded a app to look at the stuff you can't see it's only rooted in one application and the reason we have no control is Android manager operating system is the admistrator. Not me not att and I can't do anything about it.

Yes, Charles I downloaded a app in Google play store. Some one recommended it.I checked the whole tablet system out.Said my cellular is disconnected, don't know why only thing I can figure is I now have Comcast internet not U-verse &, tablet is a ATT 9020ATrek.It connects to WiFi but drops. I used cellular data yesterday because I can't access ATT mail. But yes the app said I'm not rooted except in one place can't remember cuz technically it's a crappy tablet. But according to Android Lollipop is rooted to Android manager. Not ATT Not me.So that's why we can't be undone unless you get specific permission from a Android form. At least that's my understanding

Hi there,

So use KINGOROOT.
THE STEPS ARE VERY EASY TO FOLLOW.

Why would Magisk be more risky than Kingoroot on this device? I liked the idea of Magisk because it is systemless root and it is easier to hide from some apps.
Can Kingoroot one click root apk even root a Teclast M16 running android 8?
For M16, there is no root at all yet. I look forward to it myself, but so far there is nothing ....

I can't seem to find anything on the net about rooting this tablet, it's weird too since it "only" has android 8, not the latest android versions. I sure hope Magisk or another root method is going to be developed soon because I'm really interested in that tablet model.

Hi there,
So i was researching more about this tablet, turns out you can root by installing a custom recovery (TWRP) and from there you can install SUPERSU to achieve root for your tablet. I am not sure if this method works, but if your able to get the stock firmware and the stock recovery and the software to flash the firmware i think you might as well go ahead using that method.
THIS IS THE ARTICLE I FOUND ONLINE :
https://www.getdroidtips.com/how-to-install-twrp-recovery-on-teclast-t30-and-root-it-easily/
*MAKE SURE YOU FIND OUT IF THIS TABLET HAS A TWRP RECOVERY BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE*
Thank you for looking into it, unfortunately that guide is for the Teclast T30 and the guy advises to only use it for that model. I don't own that tablet yet so I can't try any of the steps myself but I'm very interested in this particular model (16/9 ratio, hdmi out, dc charger in, etc...) so I was really hoping to find a tested working method to root it before I go ahead and purchase it.
i found this: https://www.getdroidtips.com/root-teclast-m16/
I rooted my Teclast M16 using Magisk. Simply unlocked the bootloader through adb/fastboot commands, then have magisk manager patch the boot image from firmware download and then flash it using adb/fastboot command line fastboot flash boot magisk_patched_boot.img reboot system and its rooted.
I haven't found a twrp recovery yet, but I'm thinking about trying my hand at building my own, despite being a noob.
I can confirm

I think it's locked ... if i try with adb & fastboot ... (several commands to check if the phone is locked i don't get an answer) ... only <waiting for device> message.
Is there any other way to check if it's locked?
I'm afraid that if i try to install TWRP it will block the phone and all i have left is a useless paper weight.

The bootloader is not locked. Samsung phones don't have a fastboot mode, they have a download mode. You have two options for flashing twrp: odin or heimdall.

the option with Magisk app, it loads but probably newer versions do not give you chance to root direct mode. It asks you to locate a file as tar ball or another format that I have no idea where to take them. From the tutorial ilnk you get *.apk to rename as *.zip, still different file format they want

It requires a custom recovery that I do not have

Thanks man,
unfortunately, yesterday I kind of screwed it up:
I managed to unlock the bootloader,
reboot system and all good (reactivated dev options w/debug and OEM unlock was active)
flash TWRP
boot TWRP
flash Magisk
reboot and bootloop forever.
I could not turn off device at all, not even keeping power off. My device is still in fastboot, that was my only choice available because also TWRP does not boot. If you know an ADB/fastboot command to turn off, please tell me
Later I will try to find tutorial to solve this
