CHOE Technology Lightweight Portable Dual-port 19W Solar Charger Review - Nexus 6 Accessories

So for the sake of full disclosure, prior to becoming a CHOE Tech product reviewer, I was already an owner of 2 of their products. The Qi Wireless Charging pad (Model T513) and the High power 6-port USB power adapter (Model C0041Q) which has 2 QC ports. Both are excellent products especially the hub. I find it invaluable I have a number of devices but most often use a Motorola Nexus 6 for reviews.
CHOE Tech offered me a few different products. I chose to look at their new Qi Charger (Model T517) http://www.choetech.com/Circle-Qi-Wireless-Charger-with-Lightning-Sensor/ and their Foldable 19W Dual-Port Solar Charger with Auto Detect Technology (Model SC001) http://www.choetech.com/choetech-fordable-19w-dual-port-solar-panel-charger/. The Qi charger can be had on Amazon for $17.99 (list $30) and to review, I was given a code that knocked it down to a penny. The Solar panel lists for $100 and can be had on Amazon for $54.99. The code for a reviewer made this 50% off and cost me $27.49
Now, for the Foldable 19W Solar Charger. I live in Southern California so its always clear and very bright. The test was done on November 14th at noon, so after the time change. As with any solar device, the overall strength of the sun combined with the proper angle will result in the best charging output.
I laid the solar charger out flat on a table, and could get Ampere to register in the high 600mA area consistently, making it pretty comparable to a Qi charger. I then started playing with the angle to the sun. Depending on angles I could get Ampere to register into the 800's. Then I positioned the solar charger such that it caught the sun, as well as the reflection of the sun in my glass table. That sent Ampere over 1000mA.
The charger has plenty of loops in order to connect it to a backpack or whatever else. All you need is a small carabiner or piece of rope to hang it on. The charger also has a pocket where the two USB ports are located as well as the one provided USB cable. The unit folds up nicely and it all stays together with a magnetic enclosure. It is definitely easy enough to take with you on any trip.
While I havent used this much yet, but I certainly can tell that I already love it. Lightweight and powerful enough to get the job done in a pinch. Will be taking this with me on an upcoming trip to Mexico....just in case

[Q] Recommended wireless chargers

Hi guys! I've been eyeing a wireless charger for a while now. I have the D855 which includes Qi wireless charging capabilities
.
Last time I purchases a generic charger for the Note 2 it got really hot for my liking.
I've had an eye for this one... Aukey N12:
http://www.aukey.com/product/wireless-charger-n12
Unfortunately I can only find this one on eBay Australia:
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=171730898638&alt=web
But it's $80+ down to $6.99 which is concerning.
So are there better alternatives (I assume there are heaps)?
Thanks!! [emoji4]
Will wireless chargers charge through some/all cases or covers?
It would be a pain to have to keep removing a cover (for example gel or plastic one) to be able to charge, espeically for those that are a really tight fit.
The Nokia wireless charges work flawlessly
The Nokia one is great but hard to find cheap.
Try the WCD-100 which is from LG and you can get it from Ebay for under $40-50. It works perfectly with the LG G3 (with a case). You just need to make sure you have a 1.5Amp USB charger as the WCD-100 doesn't come with a wall plug, just the USB cable.
I have several wireless chargers, the ones I like best are the Itian desktop charger and the Ikea Desk lamp charger. I have the Itian at work and the Ikea on my nightstand next to my bed. I need to put some clear rubber "feet" on the Ikea charger for easier alignment, and maybe find a way to add the charger for my G Watch R, but both work well. I should also add a disclaimer that I have only used the Ikea charger with the LG quick circle case, bit the Itian worked with the thinner cases, not so much with the leather book case (plastic and leather between the phone and charger)
@Aid777
It really depends on how thick it is. I reckon <4-5mm will be able to. I hope to get one soon and I'll let you know when I do.

Ravpower Qi Car Charger Review

Hey guys!
Thought I would post a review for this Qi wireless car charger since I didn't see much info about it and help those in deciding one for their car.
I have been using this Qi wireless car charger for about 4 months. The weather here is summer now so the car interior does get super hot, and so far this charger has been working like a champ in the heat.
The charger comes with a bunch of accessories which include:
-Vent adapter holder
-Traditional suction cup stand holder for dashboards
-Micro Usb cable
-Usb car chager (1 input)
-Sticky pads for wire management
I used the suction cup on my dash since my vents in my car are not ideal for my setup. The Qi charger is made hard sturdy black plastic and the section where you place your phone is made of a softer grippy rubber that holds the Nexus 6 very well. There is button on the back that release the two arm clamps. The Nexus 6 being a big of a device I thought it would be a tight fit, but I am happy to report that there is plenty of space. I have a Caseology Case and still a bit of extra room on the dock. So for those with thicker cases than mine can still fit, but in terms of it charging through a thicker case is something I do not have to test, but for those familiar with my case which I will put a link on the bottom of this post, my phone charges perfectly fine with it. Also the Qi charging unit in this has a 3 coil system so placement is not an issue and wireless charging is maximized and efficient as possible. There is a LED light on the bottom that indicates if it idle or charging, Green means idle and Blue means charging. The cradle of the charger is very sturdy and holds the Nexus with ease, have not had it drop my phone (yet) and hopefully stays that way. I use the charger everyday for the past 4 months and yet to encounter an issue, remember I am using it 95 degree weather for the past 4 months and it has not died on me yet. Once winter comes I will update on how it handles the cold, hopefully like a champ as it does in the summer! I attached some pictures for everyone to have a better look at it. Overall I am very happy with this charger and highly recommended!
Any questions about this product let me know and I will try my best to answer and help!

Can you try in front window and let us know how it works? When I get my phone it's going to be a window mount and since I'll have to use an OTG adapter for long distance that means I'll have to use wireless charging.

If you mean having the suction cup on the windows then yes it works even better cause the surface on the glass gives it an even better grip.

The best solar phone chargers?

Has anyone tested the CHOE 19w solar panel kit or the Anker 21w solar charger? I'm looking for a high quality solar phone charger for my uncle who will be spending a lot of time in the woods in November and will need to charge his phone a lot.

It has similar specifications with the Anker 21w solar charger, 2.4 amps per port or 3 amps overall under direct sunlight. Or what other good quality solar panel kit are you using?
Well since I'm gonna be in the desert for over year, I think I'll be investing in o e of these. I remember ZeroLemon was offering a solar powered charger

I have the panel works extremely well. We have used it while camping. But the most use we get is on the tennis court! I plug in my wireless speaker and phone to the panel to charge it while I play and listen to music. Here is a link of my review. MOD Edit: Removed as contains amazon referral links
The ChoeTech Solar Charger is an incredibly useful product. Thanks to its Quick Charge 2.0 support, I am able to entirely refill my battery while sitting outside for lunch, playing tennis, or at the pool. This allows my phone to last all day and all night, rather than simply all day. I have not yet used the charger on a camping trip, but I know it would work well due to its rapid charging and general compactness. ChoeTech's solution is also less expensive than equivalent products sold by other companies. The solar panels also work better than I would have expected and charge very quickly in less than full sun. Overall, I would highly recommend this product, especially to people who are consistently outdoors and live in warm, sunny environments
I would love to see a comparison review of the Choetech 19W vs X-Dragon 20W vs Anker 21W, all of them with the high efficiency panels. The market is so flooded with the different brands we need someone to make sense of them.

***REMOVED my Amazon links, since I see above that it may be a no, no
I will try and post some pictures shortly....
There is a review of the current Choetech solar panel and the earlier 14W Anker panel, not comparing with the newer 21W Anker panel. This isn't just an unboxing but actual testing in the sun and metered.
The review goes on at length many times about the over-stating of the 19W by Choetech but if I look at the dimensions of the Anker it would appear to be using the same over statement.
I also would like to see a side-by-side of the Choetech and the newer 21W Anker panel. The mentioned video as it does actual measuring under a test goes to show how lazy are most other reviewers and indeed have little understanding of what they are doing.

DELETED. Wrong topic.
The Choetech is $43 Including shipping and tax at the moment.

I got mine delivered today, it's night time dark, but got my Nexus7 to show getting a weak charge off bathroom lights, which is promising. My phone wouldn't show a charge. Will be trying in daylight obviously tomorrow.
Initial impression is small, light, well made, and a smaller tablet or phablet sized zipped pouch.
If you're in sunny places then you could be offgrid for days before you fallback to battery packs.
In two hours in partially cloudy / hazy sun here in mid January, I charged my Nexus 7 from 33% to 72% in 2 hours. So that's getting (.72-.33)*3950 = 1540mah ~ 770ma/hr.
If this can be done in less than ideal situations, sun near its weakest and some cloud, then that is promising for when solar is more relevant in summer.
Just found a £6 off code: 4GVRSTCC, £35.99 - £6 = £29.99 That's really a good deal! I guess my wife will agree to buy one!!

side-by-side reviews of measured charging speeds are scant on the Choetech vs Anker, so we're somewhat limited to focusing on the design, the Anker is 3 panels with the 4th panel is a velcro pouch vs Choetech is 3 panels with the 3rd panel having a zippered pouch. So if you are going to be moving with the gadget (say N6) charging it may well prefer the Choetech design vs the if you stop and rest and connect the gadget it may prefer the Anker design.
from what i've seen, Anker is the only 2.1A output one i've found. this matches the wall chargers that charge devices well. Anker seems to have a positive rep all-around and i plan to add one or two of their products to my collection at some point. a solar charger was next.
using solar energy in technology is interesting for the future
A solar bowl is also a great idea for your exigency preparedness tackle along with essential tools and inventories. It’s hard to prognosticate tempestuous rainfall, but a severe rainstorm, williwaw or heavy blizzard can beget the power to go out anywhere between a many hours to several days, and having an exigency plan in place is essential. A applicable solar phone bowl will keep you connected with loved bones without having to worry about your phone’s battery dying on you. All that being said, solar technology is a feasible bone for charging your mobile bias, but some dishes surely work better than others, and not all are designed to handle every situation.

CHOE Tech Wireless Charger with Smart Lighting Sensor

So for the sake of full disclosure, prior to becoming a CHOE Tech product reviewer, I was already an owner of 2 of their products. CHOE Tech offered me a few different products. I chose to look at their new Qi Charger (Model T517) http://www.choetech.com/Circle-Qi-Wireless-Charger-with-Lightning-Sensor/ and their Foldable 19W Dual-Port Solar Charger with Auto Detect Technology (Model SC001) http://www.choetech.com/choetech-fordable-19w-dual-port-solar-panel-charger/. First up the Qi Charger Model T517. Since I already had the other Model T513, I had something decent to compare it with. The new T517 is round, comes in a couple of colors, is approximately 3.5 inches in diameter, has a rubber foot and a rubber rim on top to keep your devices from sliding. Both the rubber foot and rim work well. [[ASIN:B013AB620C Wireless Charger with Smart Lighting Sensor - CHOE Circle Qi Wireless Charging Pad for Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge+/S6/S6 Edge, Nexus 4/5/6,Nokia Lumia 950xl and Lumia 950 and All Qi-Enabled Devices]]Small and light enough to take traveling.
The lighting is a subtle blue even at full brightness and with the lighting sensor that automatically adjusts based on the room conditions, makes it even better. Excellent for those that want the charger on a night table.
Charging. The normal recommendation with all Qi chargers is to charge them without a case. I prefer to use a case, and also prefer NOT to remove it. As such, I did some testing with and without the case. The case I have is a thin TPU case the Ringke Fusion from Rearth. I also used the app Ampere as a way to measure the output.
First, with all Qi chargers, finding the "sweet" spot is very important and also sometimes a real pain. Since the T517 is on the smaller side, I found matching the sweet spot to my NX6 a bit finicky. Once I had the right general area it took some wiggling to get the best output. Once I found the sweet spot on the phone, I also played with rotating the NX6 on the charger. In doing that I could also find the best spot on both devices. Doing that took some time and even so, was touchy at best.
Without the Ringke case, after finding the sweet spots, I could get Ampere up toward 700mA on the T517. With the case on I could get into the low 600mA area on the T517. I compared that to my T513 Qi charger. On the T513 without the case, I could get a little over 600mA consistently. With the case on, I stayed within the high 500's and hit 600 on occasion. Because the T513 is a more rectangular shape, finding the sweet spot every time is a ton easier.
Overall, I would recommend the new T517 but might suggest looking into the T518 since it has a higher output and should provide for higher output thus faster charging.

Genuine Samsung Wireless Fast Charger from Ebay [China]

You guys believe this is indeed a genuine product? the seller really emphasizes the legitimacy of it a number of times in the description.. given the price what do you guys thinks?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Sam...859259?hash=item3f7e79ec7b:g:b1EAAOSwH09ZNrc1
It's even cheaper on Aliexpress
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ori...1899f9bbcf48fbbcb-1497181164482-05162-2v37IQv
As for authenticity, it will probably be the same Samsung charger that is sold without the Samsung branding. What happens in China is once they get the specs and production blueprints from the OEM, they start making on the side for themselves, in addition to supplying the OEMs with required number. Remember the previous fast wireless charger from Samsung which they sold for $75? The same thing has been available on Aliexpress for over a year now for about $15 and I have not seen anyone complaining about it.
Three years back I bought a 3 coil wireless charger called Itian A6 from Aliexpress for less than half the price of Tylt Vu from which they cloned it. And to this day it is working fine and I am currently using it to charge my S8+. But at this price, I am seriously considering getting the clone of Samsung's new convertible wireless charger.
Well.. this dude proves the non genuine Samsung wireless charger is crap, which is the main reason I asked the question:
Issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkR3H1Tnlp0
Resolution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr4RlrfHIMk
I guess that can also happen. But if you buy from Aliexpress, you have buyer protection and all you need to do is make a video that demonstrates the issue (within the stipulated time) and you will get a full refund.
In 2015 I and a friend bought 16000mah power banks by Choetech that can charge itself and other devices with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 spec. When we got the power banks, my friend's was working fine but mine won't charge itself with QC2.0 (as indicated by the lack of green LED) although it did charge other devices with QC2.0 speeds. I took some photos indicating the issue and the seller issued a full refund of $30.

What a douche, he buys a fake one and whines about it that it doesn't work.
Personally i wouldn't buy anything from china that says its genuine and is half price of the original msrp, expect it to be fake.
I bought one of these it's definitely fake, it feels cheap and nasty. It's not even leather... it's hard rubber you can even see the joint molding on the side. It scent is very strong, I usually have my qi charger sitting in front of me on my desk just above my keyboard but now its back in the box waiting to hear back from the seller for a refund.
The sliding mechanism does not slide like the genuine product doesn't feel solid, cheap sliding mech with a lot of friction.
The bottom rubber which is suppose to help the device not slide around doesn't even touch the table it's too thin.
Also does not come with a charger or cable just the pad and clearly a poor quality USB-C adapter due to the print was half faded.
After all that it does support fast charging which was surprising lol I haven't tested it long enough to see if it cuts out etc
Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to NOT buy these then..
