Is all of this hardware related (like raw) or are there some things that a different camera apps/custom roms might solve?
I have installed Camera FV-5 Lite because the normal Version cost some money.
I'm not sure if everything is working like expected. Per example I can choose "manual Focus" Mode, but i didn't figure out how to change the focus then and get an sharp image. Not sure if it's a hardware related problem or i simply to stupid to control this mode

Yes I think it supports manual focus because under focus mode values there is manual
Manual controls and API Camera2 are being ported for OnePlus X https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/oxygenos-q-a-with-helen.403960/page-9#post-13969680

Thanks, however, there it says "manual control OR camera2", not AND. Don't expect the moon

I'm not sure if everything is working like expected. Per example I can choose "manual Focus" Mode, but i didn't figure out how to change the focus then and get an sharp image. Not sure if it's a hardware related problem or i simply to stupid to control this mode

Wow I've found this thread by mistake because I haven't a OnePlus X but these lines are awesome! (?)
I can unlock manual controls also on OnePlus X as I've already done for the OnePlus One.. If you want, try my camera that I've made for the One, it should work too.. Anyway no absolute guarantee, because I can't test it (and can't buy a new phone )

I'm expecting this, I set some parameters specifically for OPO but I'm 100% sure that also on this X manual settings can be unlocked , I'm sure that also OP knows that and they will surely bring manual support to OPX too
Unfortunately as I've said I haven't a OPX

If they implement HAL3 and Camera2 API on OPX ROM, then apps can access everything.. Including manual controls and RAW files...
Any update on this? i want to buy some lens for the OPX but i'm not sure if the manual camera is yet to be available on the opx

[Q] GPS stopped working
RAZR XT710 EU I've had spotty GPS functionality ever since I've switched to the CM10.1 roms which means I had to sometimes restart the phone to get the blinking status icon. But once it was blinking I knew it took a few seconds to lock and I would get some satellites even indoors. Two weeks ago the GPS stopped working completely, ever since I removed the SIM card. I've tried reinstalling the same ROM, installing other ROMs, doing a clean install on another slot (4.1.2. SPREM) but it just does not want to find any satellites. I've used GPS Toolbox, Faster GPS and NMEA Decoder to see what it's outputting. On one ROM I was getting some strings with $PMOTO but no NMEA position strings. The libgps shows an error code which could be either 9 on one ROM or 12 on another: Code: D/libgps_GpsMgr( 444): schedGps() mode: 3, tbf: 0, accuracy: 0, perf: 0, pAgps: null D/libgps ( 444): GpsInterface_stop() E/libgps ( 444): recv_command_status() : fix returned error code 9 D/libgps_GpsMgr( 444): sched() set mode: 3, tbf: 0 D/libgps ( 444): status_cb: GPS_STATUS_SESSION_END (2) D/libgps_GpsMgr( 444): schedGps() mode: 0, tbf: 1, accuracy: 0, perf: 0, pAgps: null D/libgps ( 444): GpsInterface_set_position_mode( 0, 1, 100, 0 ) D/libgps ( 444): GpsInterface_start() D/libgps_GpsMgr( 444): sched() set mode: 0, tbf: 1 D/GpsLocationProvider( 444): NTP server returned: 1382386872254 (Mon Oct 21 22:21:12 CEST 2013) reference: 36370 certainty: 18 sy stem time offset: -326353 D/libgps ( 444): GpsInterface_inject_time( 1382386872254, 36370, 18 ) D/libgps ( 444): status_cb: GPS_STATUS_SESSION_BEGIN (1) V/PhoneStatusBar( 576): setLightsOn(true) D/libgps ( 444): GpsXtraInterface_inject_xtra_data( 0x41FC6370, 60862 ) ...... E/libgps ( 444): recv_command_status() : fix returned error code 12 AFAIK the GPS functionality is on the same chip with WiFi and Bluetooth, both of which work perfectly. Is there any antenna connector that might have come loose? I didn't see any in the ifixit teardown. Can Matt's utility be used to reset a phone that's non-Verizon? Or should I use RSD?
Fixed by flashing the factory firmware with RSD Lite.
Hi, I also had a problem with GPS in Russia, Here is a solution what helped me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43910953 If you don'thave the gps.omap4.so file, just placed the attached file on system/lib/hw, fix permissions (RWX / R-- / R--) via any root file explorer and reboot. [Q] Dell Venue 8 7840 - Need factory ROM image (NANDROID, flashable ZIP, etc.)
UPDATE (02 Apr 2016): The Dell Venue 7840 Android 4.4.4 NAndroid image has been posted should anyone need it. It is around 920MB in size. You can flash this using the tethered Clockworkmod Recovery procedure. CLICK HERE ROM image has been found. A thread will be created so others can have access I have a very weird situation that could usually be resolved by performing a full reflash of the ROM. However, Dell doesn't make this available anywhere. While I was installing new apps via Google Play, a handful of apps would not install. Google Play through up the Insufficient storage error. Confirmed that plenty of space was available all around. I researched the issue and carried out a few steps (clean Dalvik cache, Services->Apps->Google Framework data clear, Google Play data clear and uninstall update, manual review of /data/app and /data/app-lib regarding filenames). The issue still persisted. Using Lucky Patcher, I ran the option to manually install the latest stock Google Play (5.1.11). Afterward, I used Dell's built-in recovery to perform a factory reset and wipe the cache partition. After all of that, I rebooted and received the usual New User screen. However, Google Keyboard keeps crashing. I connected a keyboard via USB-OTG, but since Google Keyboard is still the default input, the crash will not allow the hardware keyboard to work. By some luck, I was able to bring up the Settings while in New User mode. Once in to Android proper, a handful of Google-related apps continued to crash (Chrome, Pinyin input, Keyboard). For some apps, I could uninstall via Titanium Backup and then perform a fresh install via Google Play. Even this wasn't a guarantee that the apps wouldn't crash. Reviewed logcat and app logs, and I found some Java exceptions and issues with certain /data/app /data/app-lib files/objects not being available. I tried installing a few GApps packages from recovery, but they didn't work citing incompatibility with the existing version. I had a CWM NANDROID backup of the system taken just as soon as I unboxed the unit and installed SuperSU. Irony: the drive containing the backup was formatted by mistake - used as a bootable recovery drive for another computer. I also have a week's worth of full Titanium Backup jobs, but no manner of system app restores fixed the problem. So, now, when you perform a factory reset, the system is still plagued with the Google app-related crashes. With past devices, of course, you could download the ROM for a nice, clean reinstall. Dell has nothing on their support site. If I had a NANDROID (or similar) of the factory image, I should be able to fix the issue. My system received two Dell OTA updates and was at OS 4.4.4. From DroidBoot recovery: IFWI Version: 0004.F271 DroidBoot Version: 2.0 Product: Blackburn If anyone has a copy of the factory ROM image or can suggest any tricks with the errant Google Apps/framework, please let me know. I'd be happy to send a PayPal donation for an official NANDROID of the factory image. Thanks in advance for your help.
Mine isn't completely factory (i.e., I rooted it), but it will probably be better off than what you have... Let's see what I can do with it tonight...

If this works, you could post it proper as a stock (rooted) ROM. I am trying to drum up as much 7840 activity as possible so XDA will create a standalone forum I will return to let you know how it went. Thank you so much.
@jeffreycentex - Here are the steps i am taking: 1. Boot to tethered CWM 2. Perform a full backup of my current system as it is. 3. Reboot to Android OS, copy backup job to a secondary location for safe keeping 4. Performed MD5 comparison with the files to confirm copy 5. Copied your CWM backup to the Venue external SD 6. Kick off another tethered CWM 7. Perform Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache. I was hesitant about formatting /system or anything of the sort for the time being. 8. Kick off CWM restore After restore is complete, I will fire up the Venue and take it through the motions. If all is well, we should create another post with an offering of this image. It will hopefully encourage more research and experimentation to see what can be done. Once I ran into the plethora of weird crashes and errors, I almost exchanged my Venue for a Galaxy Pro S 8.4. I am happy to have stayed the course. Being out of my comfort zone, I did a lot of researching an learned so much more about the Android instance on the venue. Just some info on how I'm doing it. I shall let you know ASAP how things turn out. Also, PM me your email for PayPal email address for a donatino. I don't have a ton of money to send, but I will send you a $20 donation if you're cool with this. Thanks again! Jay
We are happy to report the transplant was a full success! The only issue I ran into was with SuperSU claiming that the SU binaries were not present. I think that's because I forgot to choose the pre-restart option in CWM to double check the root process. Simply kick off another tethered CWM, installl SuperSU, and all is well. This ROM solved all of the weirdness that I had. I even restored my favorite backups using Titanium. I'm now running some diagnostic utiilities to get all the relevant information (Build, revision, firmware info, etc.). Would you mind if I created a post for this factory ROM. It would be the first. I would be more than happy to host it on a few of the usual free download sites. You would receive full credit. I just did not want to do this without your backing. Thanks again, mate. Talk to you soon! Jay

I have new venue7840 jumpup said: I have a very weird situation that could usually be resolved by performing a full reflash of the ROM. Also, PM me your email for PayPal email address for a donatino. currently in bootloop (dell venue 8 7840) hi,I'm having the same device and recently I installed gravitybox or some app of that kind and it offered an option to install xposed framework.I was skeptical if my device was compatible but did it anyway.Next it went into a bootloop at the intel logo and has been there ever since.my present condition is,I can get into fastboot menu but cannot install the xposed uninstaller.zip since the sd card is not recognised anymore.I tried to adb sideload it but only errors follow.I understand this device has a temporary recovery and right now there is no custom recovery installed I guess(?).I am new to android so kindly help me get the device to function again by this nandroid backup.thanks. { "lightbox_close": "Close", "lightbox_next": "Next", "lightbox_previous": "Previous", "lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Anyway to enable the steps counter, sleep, hrm, and GPS back on?
About a month ago everything was working perfectly normal. Until I got sent a notification to update to 1.3.3a. What happened was that it got stuck during the update process. Despite waiting for 3 days, when the watch eventually died off it was still stuck at the updating process. To cut long story short, after over a month my bricked watch got revived thanks to Neuer_User. Now here are my problems. Everything stopped working except for Weather, and receiving notifications. When I tried to record a run, it states that AGPS is expired and it needed to be updated via the App. I turned on the APP, nothing happen despite the watch was still connected to the phone. I skip that process and tried to use the GPS, it just wouldn't lock into the location despite standing in the middle of an open space. Same thing goes for the Step Counter (not working), sleep (not tracking), Heart Rate Monitor (green flashing light doesn't turn on). I tried flashing to both English and Chinese firmware didn't help either. I couldn't use the update package version 1.3.3a that was uploaded on another thread, cause it would give me back the same problem where it would get stuck in the updating screen. So I was wondering if there is a way to manually turn these features on via adb or somewhere I can look into to get it updated to 1.3.3a via flashing method instead of updating it. Thanks!
Sounds tricky. Did you made a factory reset? You should try to clean as much as possible of the internal memory. Don't know if there are adb commands to wipe data and so on. Unpair the Pace from smartphone and clean data of the Amazfit app. Then flash from scratch PACEfied or other stock ROM, but better with open bootloader and root, to have still all possibilities. If the hardware is still ok, this should lead to re-enable all sensors. I guess Neuer_User is one of the experts for such issues.
Why not just install fully the English version from my thread "convert to English"?

Click to collapse Yeah I forgot to include that as well. I've already did a factory reset and fastboot erase data. It still didn't work. I couldn't the PACEfied Rom because it uses update method. The problem with the watch is that, once it goes into update mode it will get stuck and wouldn't proceed.

Not sure if are having loop situation or a update that does not finish... I also had the issue of the watch getting stuck in update loop. I was updating from Rel 5 to the "New" Rel 6 (Update not Full Install). After couple of update loops, i issued a Reboot command from adb shell. It did not help, as the watch rebooted into recovery again and started the update again. As a next step to break out of the update loop, I went into fastboot (adb shell reboot bootloader) and did fastboot continue to start normal boot. This worked, and the watch rebooted normally, did the usual app optimization (for 46 apps) and started. From watch info, I could confirm that the watch was updated to 1.2.11. Click to expand... Hi, I am not sure if you are currently on US Version or Pacified. There is a Watch Self Test that is available in the Lab of Chinese Rom. It runs a test of all hardware. Settings -> About -> Lab -> Start Self Test If your accelerator and Gyro don't work, your steps, sleeps cannot be tracked. I suppose you have already mentioned, you Heart Rate sensor is not working. Please wear the watch when you run the test.
Does this test work for you? It doesn't matter if I choose first or second option. The only thing I see is the battery values and the step after shows some numbers with red background. That's all.

I'll try flashing it to Chinese later to test the watch. but under the US 1.3.3a firmware there is PPG capturing when I tried running it, it just crashed.

Click to collapse If you select the first option (which translates to Test PPG), the watch will perform the below tests in the order listed Battery Test Heart Rate Sensor Test Magnetic (Compass) Test Pressure (Barometer) Test MIC Spectrum Test Vibrator Test If you select the second option (which translate to Test All), the watch will perform the below test in the order listed Battery Test Heart Rate Sensor Test Battery Consumption Test ADC Battery Voltage Test Magnetic (Compass) Test Accelerator Test Gyroscope Test Pressure (Barometer) Test Ambient Light Sensor Test LCD Test Vibrator And Backlight Test MIC Test Wifi Test Blue Tooth Test GPS Test Battery Charging Test ADC Battery Version Test Apart from the test list and order (which i got by looking at the code), I have no idea how the test is performed and what determines success or failure. I also get stuck in the Heart Rate Sensor test (with three numbers and Red Background). During retest (by clicking the circular icon at the bottom), by lifting the watch slightly off the wrist and moving it a little , i am able to get past the test. However, i get stuck at the Wifi Test and it does not go past it. In some tests like Mic, LCD, you need to click the screen or swipe from left (to go back) and indicate success or failure. The test is also supposed to create a log file in the /sdcard folder, different log file depending on you selected first option or second option.

Can you post the numbers from HR test, that are valid.

Also an image showing the passed value The logic that is used to check the success or failure below: Code: private boolean isPPGOK(int[] results) { int diff1 = results[1] - results[0]; int diff2 = results[2] - results[1]; if (results[0] < 1500 || results[0] > 4000) { return false; } if (results[1] < 2500 || results[1] > 5500) { return false; } if (results[2] < 3500 || results[2] > 7500) { return false; } if (600 > diff1 || 600 > diff2) { return false; } return true; }
Damned, with a finger little bit above the center of watch the HR test was passed. Thanks! As you wrote, the wifi test shows only "..." and nothing happens. But in the signal strength test it fails as well, even I'm connected to an AP. alexjong said: I only have 2 test. hey man, how is it going the battery life and camera? Safenet is working?
zebruno said: hey man, how is it going the battery life and camera? Safenet is working? Click to expand... Click to collapse since recently devs have been using the stock oreo base for building roms, which means the camera works pretty well. as for the battery life, pie has a new battery saving system which adapts to your phone, so at first your battery won't be good, but after a week or so it'll be ok
What is the difference of the other rom you upload? Thanks

hey i have a question, although the 3 random boot animation feature is kinda neat, i dont like it, can i simply flash my own boot animation and use just that?

Why this ROM supported no root?

And maybe a dmesg kernel log since it may be kernel related. Also, what model do you have (XTxxxx) and which firmware are you running? Does it still not work in the new build? The old one from the 13th had some battery drain which could result in slow charging, especially on models without NFC - the NFC service caused a permanent wakelock.

Thanks, ROM is quite stable. I have a question- How to enable the front battery led for notifications, similar to crdroid in this ROM.

Flashed it om my wifes phone yesterday, she's very happy, less battery drain and wifi is better, which was the main reason to try a custom rom. Thanks guys!
Hi, is Fingerprint, camera photo/video recording, and Moto display notifications working good ? Thank´s
One thing is weird, the phone always reboots to twrp. To boot the system I then have to reboot from twrp to bootloader and then press "start"

Click to collapse I had that happen to me as well, it's not the ROM's fault. Either fastboot or the stock recovery store some data in the /misc partition. That tells the bootloader/kernel to boot to recovery by default. It's probably meant to ensure that a partially upgraded system does not get booted while flashing a stock ROM. To fix it just wipe the /misc partition, I recommend making a backup first. I used dd in the terminal in TWRP for both operations (adb shell will work as well but it has some problems with displaying some characters in the Windows command prompt). To back up the partition: Code: dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/misc of=/external_sd/misc.img ^ (replace "external_sd" with "data/media/0" to save it in the internal storage instead of the external microSD card) To wipe /misc: Code: dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/misc It may also work using fastboot, though I have not tried this way: Code: fastboot erase misc
Thanks! That is slightly intimidating to execute but I'll give it a go!

And lineageos. This happens in all the third party rom between 8.1.0-9.0. Date at least before 2019-09-23. But can copy the folder from the device. But also can send file to the device, so weird. ________________________________________________ I see the lineageos 15.1 changelog: 2019-09-23: September security patch Optimized SEPolicy Fixed MTP (thanks to @wiktorek140) We're back to LTE ________________________________________________ But can copy the folder from the device.
